Watching Athletico playing a while back with my son, my dad and my grandad because nothing much else was on. The womenfolk had all gone out to see a show.
My grandad says See that boy there, he reminds me of Big Dunc, he was on about Saul.

My hero was always Robson and my grandad swears he wasnt even fit to lace Edwards boots. I seem to remember rumours that we could have had him a few years ago, lucky escape there.

I’m 43 too! I remember Danny Wallace, Remi Moses and Russel Beardsmore, loved every minute. £2 entry into the stretford end, good times!
I’m also old enough to remember when you could (if your parents didn’t mind) watching when teams had 5 a side tournaments in the first division, ha.

Ed’s, and everyone else I love this site, entertainment, insight and especially the Ed’s quality information! How you put up with endless questions, more often than not the same question. It’s testament to the hard work, and I commend you.

{Ed0333's Note - Remi Moses was some player. Loved that guy.

I’m of a similar vintage (as are many I’m sure) I have fond memories of watching United with Coppell one one side and Hill on the other. the good old days 😊.

I grew up watching Coppell and Hill, I was Coppell my mate was Hill when we had a kick about. Gordon Hill is doing an evening with him at the Bishops Blaize round the corner from the ground in August.

Cool, the good old days
Same for me I was Coppell when playing at school or at training and my mate (a United fan) on the left was Hill.

We were surrounded by Liverpool supporters though. Not good when they were at the top. We got there eventually though. I’d love to listen to Gordon won’t happen though as I’m in Australia 😞😁.

I never thought Remi quite reached his full potential at United. I always thought he should of gone on to be a truly world class player. He was a beast in midfield though. A bit more suited to today's style of play, pressing and breaking up play maybe.
I'd always hoped we'd get Statham from WBA as well. Great player.
Still, we had Albiston, who was my hero back then. Always gave 100%.

{Ed0333's Note - if Moses’ career wasn’t blighted by serious injuries he would have been a club legend. He was a combatant yet silky midfielder the only thing that stopped his star shining was the injuries. I just remembered he was Manchester born also.

Anyone remembers Cloughie quote when Moses signed for half a million. He said that for less he could have the original moses and the tablets :)
