To the lpool fans who attempt to troll our Maguire signing, does this stem from the fact that Harry Maguire is the reason they didn’t win the league last season; that goal of his that cost valuable points?

MBD, I visit your pages out of interest regarding Lukaku and Pogba etc. I know a Liverpool fan has been here going on and on about Maguire which is all a bit silly.
Maguire is definitely going to improve your defence which was a necessity. Furthermore, transfer fees have massively escalated since Van Dijk joined Liverpool for £70 million
Maguire is regarded as a top defender in the premier league, so Leicester demanded a fee to match. There is no point comparing Van Dijk and Maguire or their fees, as the market has changed.

I think it’s clear that Van Dijk is the better player. Probably the best cb in the world. But it cannot he underestimated the sort of impact Maguire can have on our defence. Already we look a lot stronger, albeit on paper, with AWB and Maguire. Is he worth his fee? Absolutely not. But it isn’t his fault and the market is incredibly inflated. I think it’s wrong to try and compare the two players as there are so many different factors coming into play. He most obvious one being our desperation for a cb signing. Let see how he does this season but I think he will be a brilliant addition.

Is he worth the fee? That will be determined by the future. We shipped 54 goals last season. If we reduce it to 35 and score a few more, maybe 70, will he have been worth it? I think so. Value is not absolute. It's circumstantial.

MBD, Liverpool fan here in peace. I am not sure what Harry Maguire had to do with us finishing second. In regards to the transfer fee did you pay over the odds, yes massively down to the fact Leicester knew you were desperate for a centre back and charged accordingly. Virgil and not with any red tinted glasses is currently in a different league to any defender in the world right now, having said that I think Maguire will improve your defence, especially along side AWB who is brilliant purchase.
