So here we are, the craziness of transfer deadline day is upon us.

If you could see just one transfer coming into our squad today who realistically would you want it to be?

For me it would be Milinkovic-Savic, I'm not convinced Pogba will be here come September. Even if he is someone who can be creative from deeper in midfield would take the burden off him.

Who would you want to see sign?

{Ed004's Note - Would have to be Bruno Fernandes for me and not even sure that would be enough to get top 4 now}

Bruno Fernandes and i think the team is going to surprised a lot of fans here, too 4 is achievable in my opinion and greenwood is going to be a hit this season, boy is ready.

Why is top 4 out of the question in your eyes ed004? We weren't that far off last year even with a bad early season and end of season.
We are stronger at the back and should have a more focussed keeper. Young players who will get a chance to chip in and i think a couple will take the chances given.
If no one signs then Pogba will stay and it will be up to OGS to keep him focused.
Lukaku may be going but the teams he scores against are teams that the other first team forwards or the Greenwoods etc should have a good chance of scoring against. We need someone who can score regularly against the best teams, and haven't bought that player, but that player isn't Lukaku either so i don't see him being hugely missed, as long as we get a bit more out of Rashford and Martial. That plus even a slight improvement from Sanchez would give us the extra needed, who knows if we'll see it from him though.

All of the above, aswell as a fitter and slightly happier squad, playing a better, pressing style means we are in a much better way.

Are Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester, Wolves etc better first team and squad wise? Not a chance. They should be more worried than us right now.

{Ed004's Note - We have no doubt strengthened in defence but we have weakened in midfield with Herrera going and attack with our top goal scorer leaving. I dont have any faith in Lingard, Mata, Sanchez, Matic etc having great seasons which we need to happen and its too much to ask for Greenwood, Gomes, Andreas etc to become our saviours.

We are an injury to Rashford or Pogba away from not having a team capable of competing for top 6}

Zaha has found his right club. United is not a place for him.

SMS for me. I don’t understand anyone who says we won’t get top 6, we will. Top 4 is going to be a challenge as there are good teams fighting for it, but they have as many issues as us. Going to be a fun season, can’t wait for it to get started now.

I don't expect Greenwood etc to be getting 10 goals this season etc, but they will certainly chip in with a few, as will Mata, Lingard, Sanchez (maybe) etc. Rashford and Martial need to step up definitely but they aren't 18 year old newbies anymore, they should be doing that anyway. I don't see Lukaku being missed as i have said. He scores against the so called lesser teams and we should have more than enough to cover it.

I would have liked a replacement for Herrera of course, but it hasn't happened so we go as we are.

If the other teams had vastly improved then i would be slightly more worried, but none of them are better than we are right now, so unless they spend big tomorrow, which Chelsea can't of course, we are as likely, if not more likely, to grab top 4.

Lots of drama on here the last few days, my word!

It's unfair to burden youngsters like Greenwood with the expectation he will get loads of goals in their first season with the first team. Again its unfair to expect too much of James, Gomez and Tong. It's a massive step up for them

I agree with Ed that we are significantly weaker as things stand with our attack and midfield. Spurs are a lot stronger than us. Arsenal have made some great signings and frankly Tierney at £25m is a steal. I would have him over Shaw anyday. Celtic supporters will tell you just how good he is and he is only going to get better. The gooners have got a great signing too in Pepe. Meantime West Ham have made some good signings and if they click will be hard to beat and likewise Everton. Wolves will be better for a full season last year and will try to challenge for top six too although Europa League journeys may hinder them. One thing about Wolves though is that they have a good manager and good team who work on transfers quietly and whilst not always signing the biggest names seem to get players who have potential which they realise more often than not. In all honesty if Pogba is injured or goes walkabout then who is going to provide the bullets for our strikers. Mata only does it sporadically. Perreira has been lightweight so far although I think he has huge potential. Mctominaybis no creative genius. Jesse is never going to be a great. Sanchez is the only unknown but he has a lot to prove. So yes I will support the team but I am also realistic in my hopes for this comping season. Even if we get Fernandez I still think we are two players short. A top top goalscorer and another midfielder. The beauty of football is we all have our opinions and time proves us to be geniuses or idiots. More often than not I fall into the latter category but it's all part of what makes supporting a team, our team, such a compelling thing.

Loads of goals from youngsters? Who said that? We finished just outside top 4 this season and Lukaku scored 12 league goals. If the team, including a couple of younger players can't make up that number, then there is no hope. That along with us having a tighter defence and more focussed keeper will mean a more successful season.

Unless you want to just look at all the negatives of course. In that case we are f@cked.
