I think Vettel will retire, he has nowhere to go now and Le Clerc is doing to him what Ricciardo did at Renault. Hamilton’s pace on the second set of tyres was scary, if he had managed to get past Vettel a little quicker I think he would have taken the win. I was hoping for some exciting driver moves next year but it looks like we won’t get the,

I think seb will look for a move or assurances that Ferrari will be better.

I don't believe we would be thinking this way if Ferrari could get their strategy right. Vettel would be up there. No doubt le clerc looks a talent.

Aside from the cars, lewis just continues to show just how far ahead he is of these guys as a racer. He is an incredible talent. Sometimes I feel he doesn't really get the plaudits. If he wins a couple more, does he go down as the best ever?

He has the most poles, if he carries on next year he will pass Schumacher’s wins, he’s currently 2 behind in terms of world titles. He’s cut from a different cloth and is a bit marmite, but as a racer he is frighteningly quick.

I think Vettel is done, his team mate is out driving him, I think he has lost some appetite.

Hes quality AJH and I hope he goes down a legend.

I just think Vettel is fed up at ferrari. They've been so poor.

A young driver like leclerc has an awful lot to prove.

I think vettel has lost his hunger for it a bit. I can see him moving to a different type of racing. Would like to see Lewis in a Ferrari for a year or two before he’s finished and Verstappen in the Mercedes. Le Clerc looks a talent. Personally don’t like Lewis really but can’t deny he’s the best racer out there, not in question for me.

I think Vettel's legacy is being damaged right now by his performance against his team mates.

Lewis is incredible, I can't believe people were saying Alonso and Vettel were better than him only a couple of seasons ago. He is way ahead of the other drivers. Leclerk and Max are the next generation, and are the best of those coming through.

{Ed001's Note - Hamilton is light years ahead of Vettel, but it is a shame to see how far he has fallen.}

I've supported ferarri all my life. Vettel is done. They need to get Lewis in there as secretly, he wants to drive for the most iconic name in F1. But it'll be difficult to tempt him.
Ferrari always do well when the management are non Italian, they need to recruit from outside. Their strategy is shocking and they need someone who knows what he's doing.
Sounds very similar to what's happening at United.

Stick Lewis in a torro rosso and see how good he is then.
Tbh swap seb and lewis and seb would be winning titles.
Not saying lewis isn't a good driver, not my cup of tea tbh, but its mainly about what car you are in.
I'm looking forward to a future of Charles, Max and am sure Mick Schumacher eventually.

could say the same about schumacher welsh?

he may have the best car and the best team but he's still got to perform

for me even if Lewis does not go on to beat the record titles (which i think he will by a few) he for me will go down as the best ever.

he deserves more credit than he gets.

his first season he lost out by a point at 22 years old.

hes still only 33 could easily go till he's 40.

Stick lewis in an equal car against any of them and see what happens.

{Ed001's Note - the Ferrari is the fastest car this season and yet Hamilton is walking away with the title at a stroll. I think that tells you a lot personally. Last season the Mercedes was slower on a lot of tracks but he won the title. Hamilton is one of the all-time greats, he has always been one of the fastest ever but he has added to that ability over time with improving of his feedback and consistency of times.}

You beat me to it Tris. WRD, it’s a lazy argument to say he has the fastest car as this year, and last year he hasn’t. Ferrari had a better car last year but Lewis wipes the floor with Vettel. Personally I’d like to have seen Verstappen and Hamilton together at Mercedes, that would have been interesting.

Ed 001 ferrari is faster in a straight line but not on corners due to down force issues so on 80% of the tracks the Merc is the faster car over a lap.
Hamilton is still the best driver regardless imo. Not many no1 drivers lose a title to the no2 like Hamilton did. That's the only blot on his copy book.

{Ed001's Note - that is not true, the Ferrari is quicker on 80% of tracks, even Ferrari admit that their car is better and they should be winning races.}

The timings on the tracks say otherwise i have to say but i'm not going to argue with you on this one.

{Ed001's Note - yes but that comes down to multiple factors. Ferrari and Mercedes (and the rest of the paddock) believe that the Ferrari is the faster car on the majority of the circuits and they are failing to get the most out of their car. They have issues getting tyres to the right temperature and getting their set up right, which is what is costing them in qualifying and race trim. Add that to multiple strategy mistakes and errors in pit stops and they are nowhere near maximising the speed they have.

Even when they do get it right and their car is clearly the fastest, as on Spa, Mercedes are still able to take the race to them due to the issues Ferrari have.}
