I like reading the other rumours sites as it gives a true insight to the fan bases rather than comment sections on social media posts that are often filled with nonsense or just abuse towards one another for no apparent reason.

I was born in 1990 so the majority of my life all I have known is United being dominant and winning trophy after trophy. Obviously since SAF has left those days have become rarer however as much as I have to admit SAF was an incredible manager presiding over a sustained period of success, something I don’t think we will see again. I think some of your current plight should be laid at his door. The team he left Moyes for example needed a total overhaul and since then I do not think you have recovered.

Bad decision after bad decision, from LVG, to Ibra to Sanchez and now OGS I would say that the team still requires an overhaul that will take time to address.

However, one thing you should not lose is the desire to still follow the club. Yes times are difficult but unfortunately this is when the club need the fans the most and bickering over who is right and who is wrong won’t get anyone anywhere. Trust me, I am aware of what it is like to go through a time when all you see is drab football with very little light at the end of the tunnel. (The whole `almost into administration era` and Hodgson is not a time I hope to witness again) .

There are some that are clearly in the OGS out camp, personally I don't think there is anything wrong with that opinion. He is struggling and seems to have lost the players (not the first and probably not the last until you rid the club of a few ego's) not a recipe for success. However, if you still support OGS and want to see him get a bit more time, I do not think that is necessarily incorrect either as he is one of your club legends and no one wants to see a legend fail.

But whatever side of the fence you are on doesn’t make you a bad fan or a toxic as long as you put your opinion across without needing to bash the other. You all want the same goal which is united to be successful again, although I am happy to see you struggle a little bit longer (all said in jest!) .

What would disappoint me though is people thinking they need to either turn away from the sites, all the fans sites are great (barring city as I don’t think anyone has found that one yet) and there at there best when there is discussion and debate. But people turning away because times have got a bit tough is a bit much for me, I personally couldn’t turn away from Liverpool at any point and the bad times make you appreciate the good times even more.

Anyway all the best lads and roll on the 20th!

What i will never get about the last few years of Fergie's reign is this .

No one ever had or ever again will have the power and influence he had in the club . He was surely in a position to go in and demand serious funds for players and yet he watched Ronaldo go for 80 million and got Valencia in return for a quarter of that . He was reduced to bringing Paul Scholes out of retirement when he should have been in a position to go out and spend major money for a replacement.

Yes. his genius kept the show on the road but all the time the squad was getting older and replacements like Jones, Smalling, Buttner etc. etc. were'nt up to scratch . Even RVP was strictly a short term signing to win the league that season but leaving the next manager with an ageing, injury prone striker.

Cheers TRD and Bilko, I think if fergie had this team you have currently at the end of his tenure he would win trophies. Why, because he had built such an aura teams were beaten before they played you. It was like an efficient machine that just kept rolling with SAF oiling the parts. Take him out and suddenly it started to grind to a halt, teams weren't as scared to go to old trafford. And once teams started attacking you; how your team played needed to change.

From then on you have tried to find a fix but with each managers plan it has left footprints of what they were trying to implement. Afro from Moyes time, The slow build up players from LVG, the high earners from Mou and now youngsters with OGS.

I obviously haven't paid too much attention to the structure of the club or who makes decisions but the club need a plan and to stick with it longer then a year. we had Klopp who although started with wanting to use youth and then started heavily investing, the way he wanted to play was evident from day one.

But once a plan is put in place it would need everyone involved with your club pulling in the same direction and also the need to admit that it will take time. There is no quick fix for where you are at and that includes by changing a manager.

It was pretty obvious in the final few years under Fergie that the standard of football had declined . The team was efficient and got the job done but were'nt anything special to watch in comparison to 2008, 1999, 1993 etc.

Also he was'nt faced with opposition of the standard of the current City and Liverpool teams, The teams he had in his last seasons as manager would'nt have lived with them, genius and all as he was.
