Hello Ed001 and other Eds. What do you think of Fosu Mensah? Do you think he has a future at United? I quite like the kid but he has been unlucky with injuries.

{Ed001's Note - if he can stay fit he will. He will end up moving on if not. Those injuries have cost him a chance to establish himself this season.}

Ed001, what do you think is TFM's best position?

I have always felt he would be better in shielding role in midfield.

{Ed001's Note - and me, I don't think he has the crossing ability for full-back and has not quite got the defensive nous for a centre-back.}

If Lingard can be in the team then Fosu Mensah definitely has a future with United. I don't know why United and other teams he's been on loan with play him at right back. He biggest problem with him at RB is that he lacks positional sense. Needs to look across the line and be more aware about the defensive line. As a defensive mid he won't be one of the greats but can definitely be a very good squad player which we need as our squad is very thin.

Thanks for the reply Ed. I really want him to succeed. i think he is a DM as well. Maybe useful for us this season as I see us picking up a lot of injuries before the end of the season.

{Ed001's Note - I hope he gets a run of games, I like him as a player, though he is very raw.}

He was being used mostly as a full back because of his pace and strength.
But as Ed said, injuries have hampered his progress.

I said on here about 3 years ago that TFM’s best position was DM and always felt he had the talent for it.

Depending on how his recovery goes could we see him given until the summer to have a few games at DM to see how he does. If Matic is pushing for a January exit then he would have a clear run at the position.
