Rumours this morning that United are going to give Alexis another chance next season. Seems very strange to me to offer a 30 yr old whos way past his best another chance, especially since we are "trying to change the culture at the club and build a younger squad". Smacks to me of more money saving measures, if Alexis stays there won't be a new forward brought in.

No disrespect to any posters in here, but why are so many quick to believe what's said in the media about the club, but if the club does it. It's just a PR stunt?

Sanchez was sent to Inter to put him in the shop window, he impressed enough initially for Inter to be keen to negotiate a permanent deal (albeit on significantly lower wages) .
However, Sanchez got injured and Martinez has really stepped up. So Inter aren't so keen on agreeing a large deal for a player over 30 who would be a squad option.

So with Inter out of the running, and him not playing due to injury interest in Sanchez will be at an all time low. Who would want to spend significant money in wages on a ageing, declining player who has recently spent much of the season out injured?

Giving Sanchez another chance next season is probably more to do with being unable to move him on rather than trying to save us signing another player.

If we wanted to save money he’d be paid off. His wages are a disgrace. The way this club is run is a disgrace.

SLRD these are manager's words "Alexis will come back in the summer and will prove us all wrong"

What else is Ole going to say? If we can't get rid, no point slating the fella and ruining any remaining confidence he may still be clinging on to.

We wouldn't be saving any money if he was paid off Caolan so may aswell just keep and have a go if we spending the money on him anyway. I think people believe it because its exactly the type of thing the club would do. Also it saves shelling money out on a forward as we're already paying a large portion of his wages anyway. We will hear Mason Greenwood is a year older and Sanchez is a new signing so four forwards is all we need. We have just been selling players and bringing hardly anyone in so Solskjaer is right it's a clear out but I don't see any rebuild happening.

Its all well and good saying that the club has no choice but to take him back, no one will pay him or buy him etc. but its the clubs fault he's on huge wages and its their fault they value him at a price too high for any suitors. If the club keeps him for the remainder of his contract he will cost us roughly 50/ 60m in wages so selling him at any price will save the club money. We are constantly told the club wants a cultural reset, wants younger players, wants fully committed players. Alexis is none of those. Honestly it just beggars belief the state of the club from top to bottom.

Seems odd to me he wasn’t given a chance to play up front anyway given we are paying for his wages and we are light up top.

Makes me laugh when i read this. Now i'm not saying Sanchez will come back and be amazing but how many people that slated him on this thread will carry on slating him if he starts next season on fire?

We as fans never slated any united player we backed them 100% no matter what. we left the slating of players to the money bag Chelsea fans or arsenal fans moaning. Now we are the exact same fans that we laughed at. Talk about people saying "WE ARE MAN UTD THOUGH" is irrelevant if we don't uphold the traditions we always have of standing together and backing our players no matter how good or bad they are.

i used to come on here a lot more because of the chats going on but with it being ridiculously negative i find myself deciding not to come on or post

*RANT OVER*.

"ridiculously negative", maybe? But there's not much to be positive about is there?

Maybe you can start us off with all the great stuff at Man Utd the rest of us seem to be overlooking.

For one we have a lot of youth players making debuts and getting first team football.

Rashford looks to have stepped up another gear

The new signings are settling well and look to be good additions to the team

We are currently 5th while not being consistent and having a lot of injuries

One of our youth team players is having a blinder on loan in dean Henderson

We are still in the FA Cup, Carabao cup (ATM atleast), still in europa league too. So although it’s a long shot we can still secure top 4 and win a trophy maybe two.

Positive enough for you MancMan?
