Many clubs looked at Bruno with varying level of interest. There were reports Barcelona and Real were keeping an eye on him and I think even ed2 confirmed so. But his asking price was seen as quite high and him moving from Serie A to Portuguese league must have given people some doubt and the overall quality of the Portuguese league isn't considered great.

These things meant ultimately it was mostly Spurs who were showing anywhere close to serious interest alongside us.

But still I too am surprised at the lack of serious competition we had for him with. I genuinely believe if Arsenal had signed him instead of us You guys would be ahead of us in the table.

AWB isn't too shabby either ed47.

For all the criticism of Ole, he has moved on some high earning underachievers and identified the positions to be strengthened.

No argument from me on the 2nd part either, similar job ahead for Arteta.
