Ed is the Short Term Cost Control rule proving to be an issue with the Sanchez deal?

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - I don't understand your question Jred. Sorry.}

16 Jan 2018 14:07:54
Is it true Ed that it’s just a case of Miki agreeing terms with arsenal?

Agree0 0Disagree

{Ed002's Note - Not "just a case".}

16 Jan 2018 12:51:26
BBC reporting that neither us or arsenal will agree to the sanchez transfer unless miki goes the other way.

No idea how much truth is in this, especially given how Ed02's previously stated that transfers involving money and an additional player are generally unlikely.

Imo if that's what's needes to get sanchez in I'd be more than happy, but it doesn't fill me with confidence for this transfer to happen.

Believable0 2Unbelievable

16 Jan 2018 13:11:00
I can’t see it. I think miki will turn them down and it will go tits up.

That's what in thinking. But then again, he must know now that he's not really wanted, so a move is going to be needed to reignite his career.

Looks like it's other agents trying to scupper the Sanchez deal. If he comes brilliant . But let's not spend all January chasing a lost cause.

It's being reported now it would be a straight player swap.

Nice to see ronaldo saying he wants to leave madrid and rejoin, just as contracts are being discussed, can you imagine, one journo was mad enough to say he was using this to his advantage for more sheckles, as if!

Believable2 0Unbelievable

16 Jan 2018 02:01:11
I'd just love for the club to come out and say something like, "there is zero interest in signing Ronaldo - there hasn't been interest in quite some time. Hopefully Ronaldo and/ or his representatives will cease disrespected the club and supporters that have been pivotal and supportive throughout his career. "

There comes a point where enough is enough. Even when it isn't coming directly from him, the people behind him are forever trying to get MORE, pathetic!

Agree16 0Disagree

16 Jan 2018 07:28:12
Why would we go out of our way to stop him blackmailing one of our biggest commercial rivals every time he wants more money? It has positive elements for us too, because we are included in in a massive international media story every time he does it.

Agree1 3Disagree

16 Jan 2018 08:43:42
With you on this Beast. Ronaldo on the decline now and not what we need unfortunately. Stillone the best players to wear a Utd shirt of recent times - bar Scholsey of course.

Sanchez on the other hand, if it happens and it’s not all an elaborate joke will be amazing.

Cant follow the figures though although I doubt any journo knows. The Indy saying Arsenal wanted Martial PLUS cash? and now its 30 million PLUS Miki? neither of those deals look good to me.

15 Jan 2018 22:54:54
I can't see Chelsea splashing the cash when there is an unknown with the manager. Probably going public to satisfy fans that they tried.

Replacement for Hazard is my guess. Hopefully just BS, but if they are in the mix it will be a problem for us I think - these foreigners seem to love London, I doubt they spend much time partying, learning the history and shops you can find anywhere - it's just convenience and the 'image'.

I genuinely don't see the draw in London for a professional footballer over other major cities in the UK.

i can't see how we are giving them Mhiki and cash. £30 million with 6 months left on his contract seems fine but £30 million and Mhiki, I'd want Ozil as well for that.

Ed002, sorry to bother, just wondered if there was any update with regards to Sanchez. With Wengers saying it could be done in 24/ 48 hours is there any progress ether way? Where do you see his most likely destination? Thanks in advance.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer "most likely" questions sensibly. Wenger ill likely be right that it will be completed soon - perhaps in the next couple of days but there is no agreement just yet.}

Ed is it true that arsenal want martial.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed025's Note - they are losing sanchez, ozil and probably walcott jred so they will need replacements of high quality, im sure the likes of martial will come into the equation but i have not heard that it will be him specifically mate..

I think City will take Sanchez in the end especially if Arsenal can't get the player (s) they want in exchange from us. We are a rival to Arsenal's top 4 aspirations so doesn't make sense for them to strengthen us and weaken their own chances. Catching City is out of their scope this year.

Agree1 4Disagree

15 Jan 2018 14:09:43
City are only out of range for 3/ 4 months then it’s a meek playing field next season, so City are still a rival club they’d be selling too.

15 Jan 2018 15:24:09
I certainly wouldn't want Sanchez if it will cost us Martial. Martial's potential is huge.

Agree11 3Disagree

15 Jan 2018 15:25:05
Id be fustrated if we let martial leave to get sanchez he's played well on the left. Has been one of our better performers.

Totally agree if its the case of losing Martial then i am definitely against signing Sanchez.

Agree5 2Disagree

Doubt we'd let martial go. And arsenal ain't a rival for top 4.

15 Jan 2018 15:53:37
can't see jose letting martial go. His ceiling of potential is massive and in 2-3 years I expect real to come calling for him. It was be a massive step down for him to go to arsenal who are in turmoil so I think it is just the media stirring to sell copies. I don't doubt arsenal have interest in him but I cannot see us including him in any deal to bring sanchez in.

15 Jan 2018 16:27:04
Please tell me and assure me Martial WILL NOT LEAVE with this Sanchez deal?

Massive backwards step if this happens!

A lot of reports United knocked the swap deal with martial back.

Agree1 0Disagree

15 Jan 2018 18:24:09
I can't see anyway that martial will be let go. You can see he has magic in his feet. I'm hoping that working with a player like sanchez will help martial realise his potential. Sanchez has such good movement off the ball, it's an area where martial needs to improve so if martial wants to improve and I'm sure he does then he has an opporrunity to work with a 1st class operator every day so he will learn. Rash too for that matter.

I think the attacking part of our squad is in pretty good shape. 2 players with huge potential in rash and martial. Lukaku a more than decent goal scorer but pretty inexperienced in European competition. Mata a pretty solid and experienced pro. Jessie on fire. Sanchez adds great experience and that extra goal threat and touch of class and magic.

Miki looks to be a goner and ibra looks to be finished so the chance to get a player of the pedigree of sanchez is amazing imo.

Reports from Chile saying that Sanchez to utd deal is stuck because mkhi doesn't like Arsenal and is not keen to go, so unlike mkhi to completely mess up a good move.

Hi ed it gone quiet on Lucas Moura joining united was wondering if you had any info in regards to him possibly joining united this month thanks in advance.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

{Ed002's Note - Moura is high risk and very expensive given he is out of favour and would not be guaranteed a start at Manchester United - given he can't get near the starting 11 at PSG. I don't know how many minutes Moura has played this season but it won't be much - he is rarely in the squad and when he is he is generally an unused substitute. Interest in taking him on loan elsewhere has gone nowhere as the player has high expectations. His abilities are limited to being able to run along a straight line quickly. It makes about zero sense to me.}

14 Jan 2018 15:06:09
He has managed 79 minutes this season, surprised he still knows where PSG play he is involved so little.

{Ed002's Note - A snip then.}

Another nani type player. Flashes of greatness but very inconsistent.
They are forcing him to move played 40 plus games at psg in each of the last 4 season. Good goalscoring record.
37 caps for Brazil. He is a good player make no mistake about that. 1st choice? But versatile but a very good squad player as he has proven at psg for 4 seasons.

Attention Shappy, please read Ed002 post above. Maze could not have said it better himself. I told you Moura is like dog food and Sanchez is like Steak. Please do not eat the dog food.

I'm not quite sure what I've done to get under your skin so much Maze mate, but I do find it hilarious.

At the end of the day it's all down to opinions, and the thing about opinions is no one is wrong.

My opinion is that Alexis Sanchez is the better player, and Lucas Moura may never get to the level that Sanchez has reached. I still think there are several reasons why Lucas Moura MAY be a better option. I have stated what those are. You disagree clearly, although you have struggled to put down exactly why you disagree. Instead your argument is supported by insults and digs at me. That's fine, I'm a big boy. Water off a ducks back. I just don't think it's really an effective form of arguement unless your names Donald Trump. I prefer intelligent debate, where points are argued not scored.

Hope that clears things up. I didn't like the idea of you struggling to understand.

Agree25 2Disagree

{Ed001's Note - excellent mature reply Shappy, fair play.}

15 Jan 2018 09:04:39
Shappy why are you talking about Donald Trump? You have not got under the Maze’s skin you have just posted some very long paragraphs of twaddle that the Maze doesn’t agree with.

You have just stated Sanchez is the the better player and Moura will never reach that level yet double back to say he MAY be the better signing. Honestly Shappy, Moura may not, will not and certainly will not be the better signing.

It was a dumb post in the Maze’s eyes and a dumb opinion if that is what you are passing it off as.

15 Jan 2018 10:16:40
Shappy, you need to understand that nobody knows more about footballs than Maze, and people say that Maze is like, really smart. Maze has the best footballs brains, really bigly good brains.
