I believe buying mvila, vidal, strootman, eriksen etc would all but slow down or even we losing players like tunner, petrucci and co. Just give those kids the chance.

Stanod

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I totally agree. And I still don't understand why everyone still prefers to buy midfielders and then going around saying how good our reserver players are...
Even if we buy players, not all are going to spark right away. They will take their time to adapt and to perform which on an average takes 1 or 2 yrs. Classic examples are Vidic, Ronaldo...
So why don't we give first team opportunities to our youth players. I am sure they can adapt more quickly if they are good enough.
Even in our last match, we were 3-0 up at around 75 mins. I was very disappointed that not even 1 of our youngsters were given the chance...

Again my opinion is to give more priority to our youth players. Else I fear someone might give comment like what Johnson told about City.

AJ

Agree1 Disagree0

Guys the problem is we are all basing our opinions of the younger players ie Petrucci and Tunners on them making it at Utd. Now there is making it at Utd and being useful as like for instance O'Shea was or Wes Brown where good enough to play but not first pick and there is becoming world class ie Scholes, Giggs, Beckham etc.

Now If they were all to become world class then yes we would have no need to sign anyone else in there but there are no guarantees on anything and the fact that SAF still is not playing them they cannot be burdened with the responsibility of carrying us with little exp players around them after Scholes, Giggs etc leave in a year or so.

So signing 2 CM's ready made to slot into the first team gives an age gap of 4-5 years between them and allows for an easier transition but I feel we have left it 2 years to late and missed out on some top players in that time so we only have ourselves to blame.

Jono

Agree3 Disagree0

AJ, I posted the same thing after the Newcastle match. I think the reason we talk about buying midfielders is that SAF seems very, very slow to play the up and coming young players. And the other reason is that this is a rumours/banter website so we automatically state our preferred, our ideal, or our hoped-for transfers.
Stanod and Jono, I agree with both of you. good posts.

Good to see Ashley Young in the Away end at Newcastle joining in with the singing and banter. Maybe just maybe he might start to realise what it means to play for Manchester United, put a shift in, stop all that diving nonsense and earn his money. I AM KLOOT

Are you serious? Young dived twice was it? And Fergie had stated that he didn't like it and now Young hasn't dived ever since I believe. If you weren't so busy on our page Sunday and watched your 'Amazing team' Suarez has slipped a bit, got back up and realized he had no chance getting the ball back and fell back down again, looking as useless as the rest of your team.

I am disgusted when I see our players dive and I hate the whole concept of it, but Liverpool fans are no where near a fit state to come out and insult us due to a few divers.

I can name many divers at Liverpool and other clubs that a lot of people keep a blind eye too, Gerrard for a clear example.

The suggestions today that Sir Alex wants to carry on with this 4-3-1-2 Diamond shaped midfield is interesting, it's about time we looked at an alternative to our normal 4-4-2 formation. I personally still think 4-4-2 will be used against the bottom half of the league but top half teams I think I will expect this diamond to be used if it continues to be succesful. It also makes me think about possible signings that would fit the mold in this formation.

Leighton Baines
Mats Hummels
Yann M'Vila
Robert Lewandowski

-----------------De Gea------------------

Rafael--Smalling--Hummels--Baines

-----------------M'Vila--------------------

-------Kagawa-------Cleverley---------

----------------Rooney-------------------

----Lewandowski--Van Persie--------

I have named Lewandowski however, I'm not 100% sure he is the right player, I think we need a pacey forward like Welbeck but who can finish as Welbeck is just woeful. Maybe a Falcao,Damiao,Higuian etc.

RedKnight

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I personally think we should keep Welbeck, he has proved he can finish after some of the goals he has scored, I still think his goal at the 4-4 draw against Everton was his best. He just needs to gain confidence and start putting that ball inside the net.

Hopefully he can learn a thing or two of Van Persie.

-JakeW

Agree3 Disagree3

I never said get rid of Welbeck... I do like Welbeck for all the work he does for the team, he just needs to work on his finishing and I know it's not his fault but a more clinical striker alongside Rooney last season and we would have won the league... I would rather Chicharito out

I see people here want Hummels to sign for us in January.I agree but imo we should buy a class dm as well.Last year there were games in which we were bullied so badly by other teams.A good dm would have solved this problem, wouldnt it?If we get a cb and a dm our team will be far better and i dont see why some ppl want us to sign lewandowski. Our offense is good but our defense lacks a bit.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I see your point, but if we are playing 3 in the middle more often this would overcome us getting bullied in the midfield. Rooney,Cleverley,Kagawa and Carrick all closed down on the Newcastle players many times.

If you watched the Dortmund vs City game you could see 4 midfielders would surround Toure when he was on the ball, this ended up him becoming silent for most of the game.

We got bullied in the midfield mainly due to tactics.. Scholes and Carrick can't hold a midfield together anymore. I do agree with you though we will need another midfielder soon.

Sidney, -JakeW and others. I think when I compared Wilshere with Cleverley some of you used the different positions argument. My comparison is simply you can spot a class player above a good player irrelevant of position, whether it was a Casillas in goal, Ronaldo up front or Maradona in midfield, you can always spot class. Examples from the present, Hazard, Gotze, Sahin, Wilshere, Suso and Mata, all of a similar age or younger than Cleverley, he is in the group of players like Lallana, Allen and Shelvey all good players but not class. I appreciate the need to stick up for your players but at least be honest about it.

Clevs is still developing, and developing well thanks. Wilshire is quality, but it is very worrying that he has had such a long injury break. Strange time to come on here shouting all this rubbish

If it' because of some of our strays venturing over to you bragging then we can only apologise for them ;). But to be quite honest I'd of waited till Wilshire was back with a boom and outplaying Clevs week in week out before I came on here shouting my mouth off.

DodgyBanter

(Ps: good chance the two of them will play together for England for years to come)

Agree1 Disagree0

Very true in that Cleverly isn't in the same category as Hazard, Gotze etc. However you'd value Wilshere as much as Gotze? Wilshere is better than Cleverly when fit, but who knows how he will recover. Ramsey hasn't been the same and there is a good chance that Wilshere won't also.

Looks like Fergie wants to play a 4-3-1-2/4-3-3 formation more often. I want to know what do you think our strongest line-up will be (Injuries included) in this formation(s).

Also to make it more interesting you get to make ONE REALISTIC signing for example (Lewandowski/Isco) not (Ronaldo or Messi).

Here is mine:

______________De Gea

___Rafael__Hummels__Smalling__Evra

_______________Carrick

________Kagawa______Cleverley

____Valencia______________Rooney

________________RVP

Obviously Rooney would roam the pitch and would be much of a LW, but Valencia would give us that edge with and pace and hugging the sidelines.

Obviously Carrick would hopefully get replaced soon, maybe Vidal? But we need someone who is fairly large, strong and can drive forward. Maybe Khedira?

I think Hummels would be the ideal replacement for Ferdinand, I can't see Rio staying any longer and moving up to USA or Russia for like 5 million.

Jones/Smalling would rotate a lot and the same goes with Rafael/Jones/Smalling.

I have a weird feeling that Vidic may be on his way out next summer, I would love him to reach back to his form from last year again but.. he just doesn't look like he will be.

I put Evra in there because I think he is still our best LB to a certain extent, Buttner is great but it will be a while until we see the best of him, once Fabio is back I could see him take Evra spot but for now Evra is staying for me.

I am looking forward to seeing your replies!

--------------------DDG

----Rafa------Evans------Vidic-----Pat

------------Fletcher or Carrick (or De Rossi! :))

------Ando----------------------Cleverley

-----------------Kakawa

-------RVP------------------Rooney

Fletcher if it looks like its going to be a right old scrap in the middle
Nani can sub for any of the front three or Ando
Toni can sub for Ando or Rafa
Young can sub for rooney or Kakawa or Cleverley

DE Rossi seems to have fallen out with the Roma management.

Mike

Agree2 Disagree2

Well, with just one signing it would be this:

___________De Gea
Rafael__Smalling__Vidic__Buttner
__Kagawa____Vidal____Cleverly
__Valencia____RVP____Rooney

That would be more of a diamond formation, Valencia does give us problem though, I'm not sure that he'll fit into this formation...

------------Linders
Rafa---Smalls--Vida---Butts
------------Fletcher
------Clevs-------Cabaye
Kags------------------Rooney
-------------RVP

But I would have another top CMer (Vidal) and play 4-2-3-1 allowing for a forward CAM 3 including Toni.

Jono

Agree2 Disagree2

Valencia does not fit into these formations

Agree3 Disagree1

I like it Jono but Why Lindegaard in goal instead of De Gea? I know he is bad in the air right now, but surely his shot stopping overpowers all of his other traits and especially Lindergaards?

-JakeW

Agree3 Disagree0

No-Name if you watch Bor.Dortmund you can clearly see the Blaszczykowski is similar to Valencia, he has pace, can beat his man and is a one footed player (Never seen his left foot do anything use full).

He is the biggest threat for them due to the opposition having to defend against a quick passing skill full Gotze/Lewandowski on the left and a fast winger flying past them on the right. It would be to much for the opposition if we had Rooney/RVP/Valencia all charging in at once.

-JakeW

Agree1 Disagree0

-JakeW

I think with the mobility and covering a fully fit Fletch would bring the amount of long shots and space around our box would be cut dramatically. While the full backs bombing forward for our width up top could leave us with the problem sometimes that Evra is giving us constantly at the minute and leave an opening down either side. If that's played to good effect by the opposition then a keeper better in the air and vocal will be more important than a great shot stopper IMO.

Jono

Agree0 Disagree0

Jono

See your point - but against the top teams who are always going to have the one or two players, who can and are always going to get through any defence - you need the best shot stopper there is.

That I think is why SAF went for him.

10 Oct 2012 17:54:20
SAF today has said he likes the new diamond formation and is going to play with it! Read in the sun!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I found that interesting. Looks like we are moving to a new formation and new style of play which is great. Hopefully we look to build upon it in the next few windows. I think centre back is needed to replace Vidic or play along side him if fit enough. A left back is needed to replace Evra and compete with Buttner. I also think a DM is needed as I am not sure Carrick is a good enough DM and although not necessary maybe a midfielder because I could see Anderson, Scholes and Giggs all leaving and possibly Carrick as he isn't getting any younger but can't really see it. And hopefully a striker as we have had interest in lewandowski. Now the players I would love to see would be.
Cb - Hummels
Lb - Baines
Cdm - M'Vila/Wanyama
Cm - Vidal/Moutinho (someone good on the ball + strong)
St - lewandowski

Now our net spend wouldn't be much after we sold Nani, Anderson, Macheda and Evra possibly Rio but don't think he would be sold and same with Carrick.
Now a team of
_________________De Gea
Rafael_Smalling/Hummels_Vidic/Hummels_Baines
_____________M'Vila/Wanyama
_________Vidal_______Cleverley/Kagawa
______________Rooney
_________Rvp_________Lewandowski
With tonnes of cover, Lindengaard, Valencia, Jones, Smalling/Vidic, Evans, Buttner, Fletcher, Cleverley/Kagawa, Powell, Carrick?, Young, Welbeck, Hernandez and Henriquez. Not sure about Fabio. Could be top cover for his brother but then Jones, Smalling, tuncliffe, fletcher and Valencia can cover there + some reserves.
What would you all hope we could do to improve the current situation.
The Red Manc

Agree6 Disagree3

We wouldn't need Wanyama as well as Vidal. Vidal would play at the base of a midfield 3 with Cleverly/Kagawa/Anderson being the more advanced players. We could use Vidal, Hummels, Baines and Lewandowski. But even then, I would only say that Vidal is the essential one - a young centre back like Jores Okore may be prefered and if Buttner can make the LB spot his own we have Evra and Fabio as cover. Welbeck I think though isn't potent enough up front atm, Lewy would be good.

It's a split decision from fans, shall we buy or promote from within.

Looking at our squad.....

GK Lindegaard, DeGea, Amos, Johnstone, Gollini
Seems to be okay. 2 decent GK's fighting for the number 1 with also a promising English keeper doing well on loan.

RB Rafeal, Jones, Vermijl
All very young & all like to attack. All prone to being caught out of position & lacking concentration on corners & crosses.

LB Evra, Fabio, Buttner, Blackett
Evra is coming to an end, Fab looks more comfortable at RB & Butt used to be a winger & has come from a weaker league. He will take time to learn the defensive part of his
game. Blackett could be another great attacking threat but is prone to switching off at times. He switched off twice to be beaten in the air against a small Southampton player. He scored two headers. Blackett was taken off minutes later. Learning curb.

CB Rio, Vidic, Evans, Smalling, (Jones)
Rio will need to be replaced by a CB in his prime soon. Vidic does not yet look like the player he was. Evans plays well with one of the experienced mentioned. Smalling could be a top class CB if he gets an injury free season. Jones switches off from time to time.
THE REASON I'VE NOT ADDED M.KEANE, WOOTTON OR THORPE IS BECAUSE WE WILL BUY A CB & SMALLING & JONES WILL BLOCK THEIR PATHS.

RM/RW Valencia, Nani
Both on their day unplayable, both get their fare share of goals & assists. It could be the end of Nani though come the summer.

CM Carrick, Scholes, Fletcher, Cleverley, Anderson, Powell
The first 3 bring the experience to the middle. Mixed with the other 3 to get game time. Anderson will have to keep improving this season to stay. He's done well so far. He's fit, kept the weight off & he's scored. Powell scored on his debut & will block the path of TUNNICLIFFE, LINGARD & PETRUCCI which is a shame. None of these 3 will make it as we will buy in this position to replace GIGGS & prepare us for Scholes leaving.

LM/LW Young, (Nani), Giggs, Kagawa
Young seems to get injured a lot, but had a decent first season, Nani is hit or miss on his unfavoured LW. Giggs has been used more LW again of late & his best days are well gone. Kagawa seems to get lost out wide.

HOLE Rooney, Kagawa
Rooney comes to life in a free role, top of the diamond. Goals will come soon with his performances. Kagawa will soon show his potential when he gets more settled in his best position.

CF vanPersie, Chicharito, Welbeck, W.Keane, Henriquez
Well 25 to 30 goals isn't a problem along as RvP stays fit.
Chico has had a tough 2nd season and is just getting to his best again looking sharp. Welbeck seems to have it all, great athlete but needs to work on his finishing. W.Keane & Angelo will get chances but only one will service unless they both hit the ground running.

Rio to the USA & buy Hummels 28.5m
Scholes less games & Powell given more game time.
Nani 20m sold to raise money for Vidal 30m.

-------------------------DDG/Lin---------------------------------
Raf/Jones-------Small/Ev---------------Hum/Vid------Evr/Butt
--------------------------Vidal/Carr------------------------------
------Clev/Pow-----------------------------Ando/Scholes-------------------------------Roo/Kagawa ---------------------------------Val/Chica---------------------------RVP/Welb-----------------

When Scholes leaves Møller Deahli will step into his shoes.

If Neymar were to go to Barca would their be a chance of the Ronaldinho Messi situation happening again but this time between neymar and messi, and possibly messi leaving?

James

Believable1 Unbelievable12

Lol no

Agree3 Disagree0

Of course not, Neymar is decent but hasn't done anything of note in football yet. Messi has beaten Ronaldo year after year for the worlds best player, Neymar is nowhere near as good as Ronaldo, so that puts him even further away from Messi, so why the hell would Barca get rid of Messi for Neymar? Can't believe you even had to ask such a silly question.

Messi took a step up when ronaldinho left as it became more about playing to his strength
Jred

Agree1 Disagree0

I think the point Flimbo is making James is that if Messi is better then Ronaldo and Ronaldo is better then Neymar, why would Barcelona replace Messi with Neymar?

They would only replace him for someone who is as good or better!

Someone like, Bebe? ;)

Ports

Agree2 Disagree0

It's more than that you're talking mate, and if you cant see that then forget it!

Flimbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Dinho only got canned by Barca because success went to his head and it was all party, aprty, party. They got rid as they had a talent to replace him with.

Neymar wouldn't push Messi out as 1, he's not as good, and 2, Messi is more down to earth and sensible than Dinho was.

If anything Neymar is more likely to go the Dinho way. Most Brazilain big name players of the last 10-15 years seem to self destruct.

Would this work if we were to sign Walcott as some have said on here today. It is not my desire to sign Walcott, but what if he was to come in? Just hoping to spark off a debate here, he is by no means on my shopping list for summer. (This line up includes a couple of signings):

____________De Gea
Rafael__Smalling__Hummels__Buttner
_____Kagawa__Vidal__Cleverly

Theo Walcott to sign on a free next summer? after giggsy packing in next summer and two inconsistent wingers, walcott would do nicely. Where else would he go top four wise? he obviously is not going to sign a contract?

Back to Erikson and i think our Central midfield problem has been sorted, plus SAF has never been one to sign for extortionate fees.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

I don't see it as being likely...We won't sign either player. If Walcott could capture the good stuff he does with the quality finishing, then he'd be a great signing, I just don't see it as likely.

And as the Ed says, Eriksen will move to Spain or Italy.

Theo Walcott no thanks

Agree1 Disagree0

Awful post. Walcott is far more inconsistent than Nani and he wants to play as a striker. He isn't good enough to play as a striker for Manchester United. Eriksen really doesn't fit the 'Witsel' profile so I think Eriksen is not even on the radar.

As a free transfer it would be great but is he under 24, if so wouldn't Arsenal have to be compensated. Also if we since Ince would we go for Walcott?

Who is our goal keeping scout and what is he doing for his money. Could have had Hart for £300,000 and then we buy a keeper to play in the premiership who is rubbish scared of coming off his line for a ball. Please don't tell me he is a good shot stopper when teams know all they have to do is launch high balls into the area and panic happens. I recon if Sir Alex could get his money back he would snatch their hands off. I AM KLOOT

KLOOTS post are usually well written even if i dont always agree, this looks like its been written by a 5 year old, not sure its him, im sure the ed's can tell us, ive seen plenty of games where de gea has shown he can command his area, most recently in the 2 champions league games but everyone agrees he needs to work on this the most but to suggest hes rubbish as you out it is quite frankly a terrible summary of de gea. did you think the great dane was terrible in his 1st season and want him out? De gea had no say in what utd paid for him so why use that against him? its fine saying we could of had hart for 300k but just remember how raw he was back then, even more so than de gea, every goalkeeper in the world will always make mistakes no matter how old or young they are,its just a fact so how about lay off him and support him,hes only highlighted so much because of his price tag and the fact he plays for us, harper was 10 times worse than him on sunday and nobody mentions him, its pathetic how much bad press the young lad gets but hopefully he'll prove them all wrong and i believe hes well on his way to doing just that.

The manager would certainly get his money back if he could. It is a problem that will be sorted over time, but that means in the meantime he will still be flapping. Stoke will be a tough game for him so our defenders will need to give him a lot of protection. We will be fine for the Braga games, even the Chelsea games and the Arsenal game, but Stoke will be a test for him, luckily for us it's at home. We will need to get behind the player rather than turn against him, but Kloot is right that the manager would happily get his money back if he could.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree9

In my opinion, that is not KLOOT.

KLOOT rarely flat-out insults one of our players, he's usually one of the 'get behind our lads' brigade. Also, he writes better than that - this is a rival fan trying to stir up sh*t using KLOOT's name to get the ball rolling.

I personally don't get the DDG scenario. For me, he's great BUT, on the weekend he proved that he's still terrified of dealing with crosses and physical situations. We knew his flaws but paid the money - problem is, he hasn't improved at all in that area.

Lindegaard out means DDG playing every game, when this happened last season the lad really shone.

RED_SKY

Agree7 Disagree0

I AM KLOOT, you usually give a provocative post and there is always some sense in them but criticizing the scout is a bit ott. You could make the argument about scouting about any player we missed out on.
DDG needs to bulk up as the extra strength will hopefully give him more confidence in coming out for the high ball. I cannot believe how bad he was against Newcastle with these.
I think you are correct about SAF's patience with him. To publicly criticize him and drop him speaks volumes about his lack of trust in him. Maybe the Lindegaard injury will give him the much needed time to play every game and get some confidence.
Can you see DDG turning into the keeper we all hope he can be, or do you think SAF will buy another keeper as #1 and either sell or sub DDG?

J Bones.

P.S. Do you deliberately antagonize to have a good laugh at posters who repeatedly abuse you? It never ceases to amaze me how many responses you get every post. Keep up the good work!

Agree0 Disagree0

De Gea doubters shud hang their head in shame, Lindegaard does exactly the same on crosses he jus doesn't get mentioned!! Go on the Syd or Kloot, who shud we get?

Big Mac

Agree1 Disagree0

It needs repeating that De Gea is only 21. In goalkeeping terms he's just a baby.

He has amazing talent as a shot stopper but needs to develop his confidence at commanding his area. This will come as he gets older and more experienced.

At the moment it is a weakness but he does compensate rather well by saving at least one shot that other keepers would not have kept out.

The situation isn't helped by rotating him out the team and an ever changing back four.

Agree6 Disagree0

I agree with Kloot and before everyone starts abusing and throwing mud at any poster that has a negative but a genuine point, although maybe it can be stated differently LOL.

Ask yourselves a simple question, if he was playing for another premiere league side and you watched how he handles his area, would anyone here be calling for us to go sign him for 17 million pounds. If any one can honestly say yes, then go see a doctor and get examined. A great goalie should take pressure off the back four and not the other way around.

It is a major concern when you think the worse every time a high ball comes into the box. I personally have to pray every time a team has a corner against us.

Get his money back? Would he really want to do that? If i remember last season, after the turn of the year he single handedly kept us in the title race with some incredible saves and helped us develop a lead, after we were trailing by a decent margin.

So much for first season blues and the manager would want his money back yeah. If his confidence isent right up there, then the manager has to take a certain percentage of the blame. You don't get confident sitting on the bench and looking at a mid table keeper starting in your place. Yes his flapping makes me nervous, but you have got to give it some time. You dont have to look further back than the Chelsea game and understand that he is a vital cog. Get behind him and cheer the lad on.

Deeps...

Agree7 Disagree0

SYD Arsenal I agree but Chelsea away not so sure as they will throw so many guys into the box with high crosses and I fear, If he flaps at the first couple it could be long day for him.

I hope Smalling will be fit as SAF will keep the Evans/ Ferdinand combo and hope smalling plays on the left instead of evra.

A quick reply to your point that he looks terrified of crosses. Its because he is in and out of the team IMO. I hate spiders for example, they have big hairy legs and fangs and are generally just evil little buggers. However once I pick up a spider I get used to it and they suddenly aren't so bad. I think that is my long winded way of saying that if De Gea is being played in the league every week then he will have high balls thrown in at him all day long which will mean he becomes used to them and his confidence in dealing with them will rise very quickly-just as we saw last year.

Agree4 Disagree0

Big Mac, I would stick with DDG. But if we were offered £18.3m for DDG I would take it in an heartbeat and buy Ter Stegen for half the amount. The manager wouldn't have had any idea about DDG's crosses problems when buying him. If he had known he would never have signed him. But he is here now and we need to see him through his issues.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

It's not as if Joe (best keeper in the world) Hart is all that clever when it comes to crosses either. Hart has more of a physical presence but he's also got 4 years on De Gea.

The most galling thing about the criticism is that we have an excellent young keeper with two related problems that the club have identified in his game: he is physically weak and has trouble dealing with crosses. Now if your a club sitting on a very young keeper with the best part of two decades ahead of him, who is excellent in every other aspect of his game, and you can't find a way to help him improve, then you really need to start thinking about the quality of your coaching staff.

No way is that KLOOT.

My opinion of the whole De Gea matter is we should have signed Adler.

Braver, 100x better at crosses, great age for a keeper, Utd fan, played in his native league so no itchy feet after a few years, better vocally and would have been far cheaper.

De Gea has better shot stopping and age on his side.

But as Syd said he is here now so we will just have to work on him. Only hope is Barca come calling after that halfwit Valdemort gets chucked.

Jono

Agree0 Disagree0

Also Syd!

I think Chelsea will hammer crosses into the middle. They will target Evra and the space in behind and use Torres as the old Drogba. I mean that they use him in the middle putting pressure on De Gea and the scraps from any of his mistakes will leave Torres, mata, hazard and lampard all in and around the box to pounce on loose balls.

Arsenal could use the same tactic using Giroud as the guy getting on top of DDG.

Achilles heal in those games I think so Linders in both for me but I think SAF will pick DDG.

But who knows? Haha

Jono

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd you are right, forgot terry starts his suspension soon. The rest of chelsea side are short like us so as long so as we have 3 big defenders we should be okay and pray SAF does not pick Evra. Looking forward to seeing Fabio against hazard. Our boy is a special.

People say that because City and Chelsea are interested that we have no chance of signing Falcao. I really do beg to differ, we could compete financially, we allegidly matched Chelsea's contract offer to Hazard but he chose them - not everyone is going to do this to us. Falcao would be an exceptional signing for us. Fuel has been added to the fire of his transfer just now as Simeone has said that the sale of Falcao would go a long way to clear the clubs debts - he could be on the move in the summer and I would think that we'll be near the head of the cue. Just imagine the diamond formation with Rooney playing behind Falcao and RVP...I'll say no more!

That last post was from Andrew B by the way

Agree0 Disagree1

We can not afford him, He would cost in the region 50 million and we don't need him. We have no issues scoring goals with what we have upfront, its controlling the middle and and aging CB position that we need to address.

I would rather get Hummels and any of these: Goetze/Ozil/Vidal/Schweinsteiger, replace Nani and a hi quality left back.

We have too many strikers as is and more coming through.

Shahram

Agree1 Disagree0

It would probably be better spent elsewhere, but as SAF has said, when a quality player becomes available you sometimes just have to go out and get him - as we did with RVP. Thats what I'm basing this possibility on.

I would of course like to see us spend the cash on Vidal and Hummels, they are my two picks for the two positions that we need to address.

Fresh!

Agree0 Disagree2

Pointless discussing Falcao as it's never going to happen. I would rather spend the money on a defensive midfielder and Lewandowski.
