I’m so so excited for tomorrow. For the first time since Fergie left I am confident and excited to watch united in a champions league tie. What a fantastic job ole and the team have done so far. Trying not to get carried away but bring on PSG because we have so much attacking talent that would scare the life out of any defence. Feels great to feel like this again.

This sums up how I feel really accurately. I'm not overly confident we'll go through, but I am excited to watch it and have confidence that no matter what happens we'll put up a good fight and I'll likely be entertained, and we certainly have a good chance of making it to the next round.

What a difference in just 8 weeks!

It's crazy how I'm now looking forward to this game tomorrow. 8 weeks ago I would of been dreading the game, not now.
Ole has us playing quick attacking football and although it's early days the sign are positive. The big positive in particular is the beating of the 'lesser' teams. Under Jose these could quickly turn into a long slog and at best with inconsistent results. Under Ole this has changed. We can beat them a number of ways and often do. It's consistency in these sort of games that have u challenging for titles over a season because games against top 6 rivals are always 50/ 50 in terms of outcomes.

There are murmurs from a few around the club that Ole has the job already but I hope for now that is really all it is, murmurs. We have time, use it to its maximum and make the right decision. If its Ole great, if not we go a different direction.

Enjoy the ride for now. We bloody deserve it after the last 5 years.

{Ed001's Note - I must not be the only one who has a bad memory, or it could be that you are trying to suppress the bad ones? I got the grey shirts result wrong, it was the season before they beat you 6-3 and was 3-1 in the end. My mistake that I would never have noticed but for a Southampton poster pointing it out to me.}

11 Feb 2019 19:42:10
We were never beat 6-3 by Southampton, City never beat us 6-1 and we beat Barcelona in both finals then never got the trophy.

Ed if you do a follow up you need to have Dennis Mitchell. Best excuse ever. Also Javier Sotomayor an Mark Bosnich worth a look.

{Ed001's Note - I will check those out when I get a chance. I have made a note of them ready for the next time I do excuses or something similar.}

12 Feb 2019 09:48:26
Mitchell failed a test, too much testosterone in the system. Excuse was it was his wife's birthday so he treated her 4 times the night before whilst having a few beers. I'll let you read the others.

When ole took over my thoughts went instantly to the CL fixture aginst PSG. I thought after our for 2 wins with ole that ok, if we win another 2-3 games from the remaining games b4 PSG then we may have a little confidence and maybe can put up a hood show against them.

And now, wow, i wouldn't have dreamed about the level of turn around that's happend.

So what do u folks realistically think we can do against PSG over the 2 fixtures?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

11 Feb 2019 11:59:21
I think we'll win. Given the injury issues facing PSG coupled with the form of Pogba, Rashford and Marital at the moment I think we'll win at Old Trafford and draw in Paris.

It's one of the biggest tests of the team since the resurgence under Solskjaer but United have momentum at the moment whereas PSG are stumbling a little.

We play the way we have been and I don't see anything but a United win.

Regardless of our defense not being great we are now playing as a team and the midfield and attackers can go toe to toe with anyone.

I've not been this excited to watch us play for years. since the great one left. Doesn't matter if were 1 up or 3 up we just keep going and trying for more goals.

Ole has us playing the United way and it shows the turnaround when everyone is now saying they ain't looking forward to playing us.

Psg are a good side but so are we. There coming to our backyard if we can take a 2 or 3 goal advantage going into The second leg that would be great but it's how we play with that never say die attitude.

Keeping a clean sheet would be fantastic but you never know we might surprise a lot of people.

I'd say PSG were rubbing their hands with the draw in December. Jose had us set up to defend deep and a team with the attacking quality of PSG would ultimately break us down over 180 minutes. Now we are set up to counter at pace, to attack relentlessly in patches. This game could end up 4-4. But with their form on a dip and missing a few key players, I think we'll run out winners.

11 Feb 2019 14:33:05
I fancy us to win, no neymar and cavani is likely to miss also. Meunier is a doubt and with an aging Alves as their rb we'll have a field day down the left flank with martial IMO. Mbappe is quality but I think he's the only real threat. If we can contain him and get to Paris with a couple goals and a clean sheet I see us progressing.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2019 17:17:53
Not convinced that we'll win to be honest but for the first time in a long time I'm looking forward to finding out.

I hope I'm wrong and I'm loving the way we're playing since ole took over but we have to remember just how good PSG are.

I know they have it easy in a league that's not up to the standards that we're used to playing but I'd put psg as one of the top 6 teams in European football and I just don't think we're there yet. Maybe next season.

11 Feb 2019 17:56:35
We win and move on to the next round. We also had Chelsea their asses.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Feb 2019 18:58:27
It’s a tough one to call. PSG have a few big injuries, and the overall weakness of the French league always places them at a disadvantage in Europe. But they still have a lot of quality and Mbappe could roast our fragile defence. It should be a good contest, which is more than I hoped for when the draw was made.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Feb 2019 19:15:54
I'd rather psg have a full squad, no excuses, no gimme, then if we got the result the confidence would be next level. We can only beat and play what turns up they're squad non of our business, we can beat anyone atm!

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Feb 2019 19:17:52
Agree with most of the above, thought the worst when the draw was made and so on. Of course i want us to win but knowing that we'll at least have a go at them is such an advance. The Sevilla game last year was painful, i'm so thankful to Ole.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2019 19:27:38
If cavani and neymar are out then it obviously weakens them. Meuniar could be out too and verati is not 100% along with raibot being left out this is as good a time as any to play them.
Draxler di maria and mbappe can cause problems but i'd rather have rash martial and jessie than those 3. Can pogba dominate? Can herrera keep his intensity up for 90 mins.
I think we have enough to win this game i think we have the players to expose their weaknesses .
A back 4 of young bailly lindelof and shaw is what i'm expecting ole to play. Possibly jones with lindelof. We can't afford any lapse in concentration.

☺ fresh

I Wasnt happy when i saw the chelski draw but they seem to be on a downward spiral.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Feb 2019 22:39:31
Yeah I agree it does weaken them, but only so much neymar talk I can take lol we got martial who is an assassin in front of goal doesn't miss atm, rashford running at there back four, lingard scores very important goals, pogba orchestrating the midfield herra matic doing well and de gea in the sticks reactions of a cat. let them worry. Let's have it!

There will be some interesting duals.
Mbappe vs Shaw
Rashford vs Thiago Silva
Pogba vs Veratti.

Ooooh big talk. lol. Sorry Tris, but after Liverpool blow their best chance at winning the title in 29 years, Ed002's team will be there to rub salt into the wound.

{Ed001's Note - we will see. But they are handicapped by having you in the team....}

Granted, after 5 minutes I'll be blowing out my arse, but that didn't stop us winning last year. lol.

11 Feb 2019 18:33:20
In that case Mort I think we could win by a bigger margin than we did last year. Lol.

On a serious note though guys if you can spare any change even if it's a couple of quid it's going to a great cause and you get the added bonus of watching me and a few other regulars making a complete arse of ourselves. Just watch out for low flying Ken's. Lol.
