i must say well done utd to get to the top again , but to me a little incident today when odemwingie was fouled for a clear penalty and other decisions by linemen etc not given, not just today but over many seasons , leave a little sour taste in the mouth , refs are scared of fergie and the power he has over them , and the fa old boy network , if he complains enough they get demoted and its as clear as day everytime you play at old trafford, its not a level playing field for both teams , this has always sat a little uneasy with me , as its not good for the game , strange when you play in europe theres never any controversy over such things, in a fact it could be called a form of match fixing..................lfc

I mentioned after the Bilbao game that some posters behave like spoilt brats. I do not retract my comments. Please appreciate what we have.

Manchester United have, for just today, overhauled Shiek Mansoor's obscene spending spree, acquring mercenary footballers who only play for City for money.

Mercenary footballers at City, really?

Well, Carlos Tevez has been warmly welcomed back by City players. Didn't he disgrace the City shirt by refusing to play in Munich, letting his club, supporters in Munich, other supporters, and fellow club mates down in a disgraceful and unprecedented way? He has improved his golf swing recently though.

And yet, this now souless club is willing to welcome him back? It's as though they have given up all moral sensibilities, because the goals have dried up. Their players want him back to help them win their PL win financial bonus, and that's all that matters to this mob.

We need to be beat this horrible incarnation of a working mans sport. We need to be UNITED for the run in.

There will be ups and downs in the last few games, but never think our lads arn't good enough. You cannot buy heart and soul, and we have that in abundance.

City are now just a billionaires amusement, and it will be a dark day for football in England if that is the recipe for success.

Look at Giggsy's injury time goal v Norwich, a pivatol moment me thinks. Is there any other team that has such desire to produce such a never say die, we will not be denied attitude than United?

If our players have the guts never give up, the least we can do is give the lads the support they deserve.

Please, no more slagging off players (a few mentions for players who have, in the past, received regular, negative posts on here).

Patrice Evra: Constantly criticised on this site, never injured, ever present, captain, and still one of the best left backs in the PL. Taken lots of unjust cr*p this year, (I remember Liverpool/Suarez/Poyet ill judged behaviour). Give him support, because he absolutely deserves it.

De Gea: What character he has shown for a youngster. He is class, have no doubt! He is getting better and better. Save of the season v Chelsea (Mata free-kick).

Johnny Evans: What a step-up to take over from (with Kompany) the best central defender in the PL in Vidic. Again often criticised on here and elsewhere, and dismissed as just a squad player. He has been superb.

Nani: Has been inconsitent this year, but he will turn it on at business end of the season. Class is permanent.

Chico:People on here want him sold? Do not under-estimate the value of a natural goalscorer.

Players make mistakes, results go wrong, but keep supporting the lads for the rest of the season. This is our time of year, so enjoy yet another MUFC ride!

Great performance today against a handy WBA team. Evans is continuing his insane form, if he keeps it up, he along side Carrick could be the players of the season for us. Our front 4 were excellent today. In particular Welbeck's back heel that got Young in stood out to me. Nice to see Pogba playing and Cleverley finally coming back.

On another note, I hear Anderson's out for the rest of the season? Can anyone confirm?

This might not be the most popular of appointments, but when SAF retires, do you think that Brendan Rodgers would be a good appointment? We all want the Mourinho's of this world, but in reality, will they stick around for a long time? Maybe not.

Rodgers is a young manager who is learing his trade at a good club, getting them to play the right way and is doing wonders with limited resources.

I think Rodgers, Solskjaer, Pep and Moyes would be on my short list. I think we want someone who can build a new legacy like Fergie has. All three of these men have time on their side to do that.

Great lift for the fans and players. Might have even inspired Pogba a little bit. We have the easier run of games out of us and City. Lets hope the players can keep the momentum going! I think SAF will take the Bilbao game seriously, although i would prefer he didnt. Premier League has got to be priority for me! Only my opinion though as i know how you all love to shoot somebody down ;)

A good weekend

Firstly our own performance. We started a little slowly with the tempo too slow. We were also too deep, Evans and Rio sat almost on our own 18 yard area likely to try and draw them out. That didnt work but we looked better when we pushed up.
Credit where it is due, Ashey Young had a good game and we should have got the ball to him more, especially after they went down to 10 men.
Our strikers are not firing at the moment, Hernandez is not playing well, out of confidence but is not the allround striker who can hold the ball and needs a particular type of delivery from wide to thrive.
The defence was solid and as expected De Gea is showing us the goalkeeper most of us thought he would be. Welbeck had a decent game, although did better when he stayed out wide where he could link better with Jones. I felt for Pogba when he came on, there were some boos before being replaced by cheers. Showed some nice touches , needs to learn to be goal side at times but that will come.
A good win, functional and timely. It needs to be repeated 10 more times.

Then, of course, during the game the crowd erupted and we knew what must have happened. Those moments are always enjoyable.

Let us keep our feet on the floor, we won a home game against West Brom, a difficult opponent, but there are more difficult challenges to come. We have not won anything yet, City will be favourites for their home game against us so we have to keep our nerve before then.

A good day

"No.......No......No........No........ ?
Where have all the Liverpool lads gone?"
I'm still here mate, Tel has just posted and KT has also, so we haven't all gone missing. Tbh whilst I don't want you to ever win the league(like you all won't want us to, obviously I want us to win it and you all want to win it) I have to admit I absoloutly hate everything City currently stands for and the way they've gone about trying to buy sucess, its killing the game we all love. So its like a double edge sword for me, and I hate to see LFC fans posting about City winning the League, as though it is some sort of achievment for us, LFC and MUFC were made to win trophies, not to hope others don't.
So I will wish you luck in your pursuit, and if you do win I will congradulate you, as it would be LFC's fault we didn't and won't for not being good enough.

As we keep getting reminded we have an awful squad and are in decline, whereas Liverpool are on the march now King Kenny is in charge.

Given todays result, what do you think the midweek match against Bilbao team will be? Who will we play?

We either go with an experienced team or a youthful team, if it was me, then i'd have to go for this because i think that winning the Europa League would be important for us so we should commit to it.

_________De Gea
Jones__Ferdy__Evans__Evra
_Carrick__Scholes__Cleverly
Welbeck__Rooney__Young

I think that would be my first choice as i think we would keep the ball well, but i think that Giggs, Park and Hernandez will be involved which would be a shame as we really need to place an emphasis on controlling possession and keeping it tight at the back.

Pains me to say it but it does look like its Uniteds title to lose now.....

For me, bringing back scholes was the key decision by Fergie, but at some stage you are going to have to replace both him and Giggs....in the meantime he is world class, along with Rooney.

Difficult times for us LFC supporters, we lose and United go top.....can it get any worse in one weekend...?

Ive given you guys some stick lately, so I suppose a little humble pie may be in order from yours truly.....nurse any custard ?....oh and youd better leave my potty, Im feeling sick....

Awesome game today, we played great as a team. I liked seeing Danny on the right wing and Ashley playing on the left, who was my man of the match. He's been full of energy, trickery, and confindence these last weeks. Hope he can continue his form until the end of the season. Rooney was clinical and De Gea was top class again, growing more and more in confidence every game. Great to see the crowd at OT shouting every time Pogba got the ball, hopefully the kid has decided to stay here, and that SAF is serious about keeping him in the match day squad. Although he didn't do to much, it was nice to see Cleverly out there for the last portion of the game. Hopefully he and Ando can get a start, as those two together were on fire at the start of the season.

I'd like to see a midfield of

-Tony-Ando-Cleverly-Nani-

play in Spain, because of the speed and creativity of Ando and Cleverly is what we need against the Spaniards I think. And maybe even throw Pogba in there and see what he can do.

and

-Welbeck-Scholes-Carrick-Young-

finish the EPL strong, because Scholes and Carrick together have been sublime the past couple of weeks (barring at Spurs, but they did the job).

I think that we have something that City don't, a good balance of age and experience, and i think that will continue for a few more years.

This year we have the youngsters in Jones, Cleverly, Smalling, Welbeck complemented by the likes of Giggs, Scholes, Berbatov, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, Park.

As the years move on, then we will replace the older players and bring through younger ones. Next year we will see Pogba, Keane and Tunnicliffe coming through with Berbatov and probably Evra moving on. Taking their place as senior players will be the likes of Rooney, Valencia etc.

It will be a good on going cycle of complementing the youth with the senior squad members. That is one of the big things that we have over City.

1.de gea's performance along with a clean sheet.

2.pogba's involvement..hope he has got some sense knocked into him and stays at united.

3.most importantly the atmosphere at OLD TRAFFORD...it was awesome today after a long interval..how they cheered pogba on his each touch, how they cheered when city got behind, how they cheered every effort by our players, this is why i love united.we have the most passionate fans in the world but this atmosphere should be kept the same in each match.....GGMU..

Toni___Pogba___Clevs__Nani
__________Hazard
__________Rooney

Such an exciting time ahead i think.

BREAKING NEWS: MEDICAL REPORT

I have to confirm it looks like City are suffering the early onset of a terrible bout of squeaky bum time. Could be terminal.

On other news, I can confirm that after United suffered a fit of the giggles at Liverpool's expense yesterday, the squad has fully recovered and are looking fine and dandy!

Lastly, Liverpool supporters who frequent this site have come down with the "gone on the wind syndrome". This disease leaves the patient with the urge to find themselves far "too busy" to engage in banter. Don't worry, they will crawl out of the woodwork again when the coast is clear, but frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.

Good game, very Mourinho in nature, Özil stood out for me, his touch's and passing are world class.

How many United fans after the world cup saw this lad as the answer to replacing PS? I know i did and my views havnt changed. In recent weeks he has been finishing games also. Playing the full 90, Think he has 16 assists already this season, Does any Man Utd midfielder don more or the same? would he leave madrid? would he want to come to Manchester United? I for one would love it to happen.

Do people think Hoilett would be a good signing in the summer considering he will be a free transfer?

He looks like a good player to me and could excel in a better team and well worth a gamble plus his wages would more than likely be low in comparison to our earners.

Also hoping Wellbeck starts today, even though he can be wasteful Hernandez unfortunately isn't in form atm and Rooney needs to stop playing every position on the pitch except upfront. Thats due to us having no-one in midfield unless Scholes plays.

Would be nice to see Carrick Anderson and Clevelry in a 5 man midfield today, to see how they all inter-link, however i believe that its more than likely the safe bet of Scholes and Carrick.

I'm United through and through. Always have been. However, I think that the best thing that could happen to us this season is to finish the season without any trophies. That is the only way that Fergie will realize that the squad we have isn't strong enough.

You just can't rely on the likes of Evans to cover in defense when Vidic is injured.

I was watching the game against Bilbao on thursday night and if it weren't for De Gea having a good game... Bilbao could've scored 6 or 7 goals and with it being against us at our home ground, it's not good. We just don't seem to have that fear factor that we had when Ronaldo and Tevez was playing for us.

For me, I'd say we need a world class defender and a world class midfielder. Scholes/Giggs won't last forever.
