I think the only bit of concern is injuries. So far, lucky that no injury has gone over 3 months. Good thing we have good enough players to sustain a strong squad.

a Mr Mancini of Manchester was earlier spotted in a park handin over what appeared to be a brown paper bag filled with money and shaking emphatically the hand of a Mr davies of Bolton. However in the midst of the passing of the bag a phone call was recieved by the man city manager who proceeded to jump up and down in a madness with four of his fingers raised. ensued was a struggle with the paper bag in which mr Davies tackled Mr mancini to the ground and ran of. A referee came out of nowhere and did nothing.

Hey Scrappy/Shaggy/Shappy

I looked at your first team and guess what?! Other than Welbeck you don't have any other born-in-Manc players in your team! You even need a Scouser to score your goals for you! Your first team is basically imported from other teams! tsk, tsk! It's what you call buying success!

p/s The only reason I'm here on your board is because scrappy Shappy here is dishing the piss on the LFC banter

Wow. what's with all the hate Bolton, Coyle and Davies hate?

Not sure what Coyle has got to do with any of this, I wasn't in the dressing room so i didn't hear the team talk however I'm fairly sure he didn't say 'Let's go out there and kick them in the air' - He's got a big physical team and he was using it to his advantage, no different to us having a quick team and using that to our advantage.

The Tackle itself, yeah sure it wasn't a good one but I've seen worse, You could he see exactly what Davies was trying to do he just made a pigs ear of it, to me it wasn't malicious, I don't think he tried to hurt Cleverley, I think he went into an ambitious tackle and wound up a little short, nothing more, nothing less. thats my opinion anyway.

Besides, Cleverley is okay, I was expecting a stop-start 2-1 game but we walked it, was a good game all round, saw what everyone could do, that said Bolton should of prevented a few of their goals....

Everyone needs to lay off davies,so what if he was trying to get in the face of the united players,do u expect him to stand off and let united walk through!
Remember last season when rooney elbowed james mccarthy in the head, now that was intentional!

how come everyone's saying about how brilliant city are? surely no-one is forgetting that rooney scored 8 in 4 games, that we beat arsenal 8-2 and that we came from 2-0 down to beat city in the communitshield? so they buy players for inflated fees that have already hit their peak, where as we buy players for the future (e.g. hernandez, jones, smalling). so what if aguero is scoring more than everyone else(except rooney)? we have some of the best youth players in the world in pogba, morrison, welbeck, smalling, jones, de gea, cleverley and hernandez

So much talk about the future United coach and so many names from the league and championship but one should realize that they are successful with average squads but do not guarantee success with huge clubs. You can see a lot of examples of this.
The best contenders IMO would be
Pep: Great style of play which United have also started to play in, a good person and somewhat humble. He said he wants the job one reason being United have a very good youth academy like Barca.
Mourinho: A great tactician but likes to have full financial support of the board and plays with big players. What he did in barca match was uncalled for but I think he has realized barca have great faith and its very difficult to beat them. He poked the other coaches eye (looked more like a finger in the ear to me) to create a scene which will be in the minds of the other team the next time they play and they might look for revenge, that is their only chance to break the other team.

cosh i never once said that i valued tactics above personnel. This started out with me highlighting barca's tactics with have evolved over the last decade to get the best out of their highly skilled talent. And they do have some talent. I also think we are undergoing some similar evolution. Both teams have moved from a 442 into a more fluid style. There's is a 433 which turns into a 235 we start as 442 but play more in a 433 or 424. You then come out with some naive keeganesque tactics don't matter its all about the best eleven. Both myself and some other guy gave you plenty of examples of teams with brilliant players who never achieved. And teams with decent players who achieved a lot with clever tactics. My point is yes having great players is really important the better players you have means you can achieve more. But you have to have the best players that fit together. That suit your system. An example is berbatov. A great technical player but doesn't suit our style. Look how much better we are without him starting. Do you understand now? Rincewind

Its good to see united not just winning matches but destroying opponents. Happened to see lot of matches yesterday and very delighted with the results.
Real Madrid: won and did really well but their defense was tested and 2 goals were scored. Ronaldo's ball for benzema's goal was definitely pass of the season.
Barca: Scored 2 goals within 25 minutes but failed to capitalize.Real sociedad played some good football and drew the match with the help of villa ofcourse. A draw at this early stage is not a bad result but barca were so desperate to win that they handled the ball, tried to shoot from everywhere and Messi diving and being booked. Plus point was Fab's form.
Chelsea: Won the match and dominated throughout could have scored more goals. Sturridge is way better than Torres.
Liverpool: Played a good game but failed to convert chances. Suarez was frustrated, Skrtel didnt know what to do, Stoke played well defensively. Happy to see them lose anyways.
United: De Gea was great, made some good saves, has a great vision and passes are superb. The fourth goal was created by him. Jones is way better than smalling at RB, His passes are good, ball control is exceptional and he can dribble pass the defenders What else do you need. Rooney was sublime, the hair transplant is working very well. Nani was not at all selfish, was great to see him play like that. Chica has the best striker instincts I have ever seen. Carrick is not the replacement for cleverly, back passes are not helping. Hope Cleves gets fit in time and Davies gets hit by a bus.

Keane and Cantona both very fiery characters but the captaincy made them even better.
I personally was livid bout Rooney's actions last season regarding the club however I truly believe now he's realised he was wrong and was given very VERY poor advice!
His attitude, performance's so far and all round enthusiasm to scoring, playing for United and towards team mates shows he is very committed to us and should be a future captain of our club!

I read a lot of posts on this site quoting Owen Coyle as a future United Manager. He sent out a team with one intention and that was to kick and hurt United's youngsters. Was there an apology after the game no. It was a disgraceful show and was an obvious tactic and not a response. Wonder if big Kev would have been so brave against Vidic or Keane or Robbo. It must take real guts to go in on Tom like that. Coyle is as much to blame. RAINFISTHROMBONE

My apologies for not posting last night,to be honest I could not see the key board (all the letters looked the same).
As for Cleverly I wish the boy a speedy recovery. All I want is for Liverpool to beat a full strength Man Utd team,so that stops your excuses on Liverpool can only beat an injury hit Man Utd.

What a day to be a United supporter at the Reebok yesterday. The team put on a display of football which was a sheer joy to watch and the support was on top form, my favourite being Giggsy's "He'll shag who he wants". Everyone knows my opinion on Rooney and the way he has treated the club and its supporters that will never change but until Sir Alex sees sense and takes revenge he seems to have rediscovered his scoring touch though is passing is still very wasteful. In Phil Jones i think we have uncovered an absolute jewel. Did you see how many times he got clattered and just got up and charged on. It brought back for me memories of seeing a young Norman charging round the pitch I hope Phil becomes just as much a legend. I thought De Gea was excellent and his distribution is the best i have ever seen from a United keeper. Chicho just brings a smile to everyones face every time he plays and is so far ahead of any other strikers we have at the club for his movement and finishing ability. The great thing is we now look like a team that players must be watching and thinking "I would love to play in that team". What made the day sweeter was coming home and seeing Dogleash on the telly moaning already about referees and how they have it in for his club. Starting to feel a bit of pressure are we King Kenny? I wonder what action the scouse loving FA will take about his disgraceful comments let me guess none.

I don't know who on the back room team is responsible for this new style of quick passing attacking football we are playing this season but whoever it is thank you so much.

Oh just one more thing if we do get any scousers like Lionel Blaire Maine coming on the site just ignore them. They are some mediocre mid table team who can only look up at us with envy and wish. Don't respond.

Theres only one thing that can stop us retaining number 20, its not the brilliance of Aguero and emergence of city, it is in fact the master class of Adam and Henderson, ive never seen Fergie so worried LOL and lets not forget the superstar that is Carrol

Lads and ladies, how are we all this evening? Just like to start by saying another good performance to continue our terrific start to the season, but I am gutted for Clever's and just hope it isn't as bad as first thought, lets pray for bad bruising or somethin other than a break or fracture. Feel sorry for Ando too as I felt he and Clevers complimented each other very well in the middle so far this season, now he has to look forward to "back pass" Carrick to be his cm partner for the rest of the season.
Back to the performance and I see why SAF was so quick off the mark to get Phil Jones, he was outstanding today(and thus far this season), he is so versatile, DM, CB, RB, we will look back at the end of the season and say what a bargain, pure quality and we are really seeing now what he is made of now that he is in a team of quality players.
David de Gea I thought was class today, he made a couple of saves where you would see the majority of GK's parry or palm away but held on comfortably, maybe a bit premature, but feel he will be one of the greats.
Wayne Rooney, pure class, playing with an energy about him that seems to be verberating around the team and loved the way he looked for Hernandez everytime to try and set him up for the Hatrick and for hernandez, this lad is infectious, his movement is top class, watch back his movement for the 1st goal, you cant teach that, was just hunger and desire to get there, when this guy starts beating players 1 on 1 he will be the full package.
Great to see Rio back too, wise head at the back, made everything at the back look organised and less panicked as I feel we were a little against the gooners, and only 3 goals conceded and still Vida to come back.
Think I have said my piece, til Wednesday nite of coarse, hope the Berb at least gets a run out on Weds and bags a couple jus to give SAF a right good headache lol

PS. Lets all keep fingers crossed for Clevers

Oh and have it on good authority Mario Gotxe is a done deal next summer before the Euro's

well done utd , good result today, must say that wayne rooney is some player , you can tell hes from liverpool as nothing that good could come from manchester, well you are looking good and have had a great start , but its too early to delcare yourselfs winners, as i said if you do ,ill come on here and say well done and also explain more about the ins and outs of footie......have fun.......lfc"""
dear mr lfc
ngiak appreciates the comments. coming from the bitterest rival, it's a huge compliment and it shows that despite the rivalry there is mutual respect that is earned through the generations
however it's the new generation who are the fickle ones
what's the odds that after the first draw or defeat, the doom and gloom brigade will bloom again? and from supposed man united fans... its as given as the sun will surely rise in the morning
ngiak however is really really contented
we are man united fans, and the team is playing like man united should as dictated by the ethos of the club
fast, attacking, committed, for the honor and glory of playing for the badge
no matter what, this is a very memorable season for ngiak
3 players brought in, as ngiak predicted
and the youngsters of great talent playing from within
it's so sad to see our best two youngsters out for so long...
ngiak has taken a huge liking for both cleverley and welbeck
hope they recover soon...
mr lfc, despite the battles here, you have ngiak's respect. your comments despite your one team's misfortune have shown your true humility. well said
