In my opinion United should be signing a creative midfield player forget Gaitan he has done nothing in the game he is just a name being thrown about just like Neymar , Ganso , Erikson and Goetze. Fergie should splash out on Modric. He is refusing to sign a new contract at Spurs and would jump at the chance of joining us another reason is that Rednapp came out and said he cannot stop his big players from leaving.

Another midfielder we should be looking at is Chieke Tiote , he has had a great season at Newcastle and I think it is time to step up , some people said last season thathe would have "second season syndrome" but this has not been the case he would add gritt and determination to the midfield which we have not had since Roy Keane that would intimidate an opponent and would add a competetive edge to us that we have not got.

Finally I would bring in Ricky Van Wolfswinkel from Sporting Lisbon he would be different to anything we have now. Rooney is a traditional number 10 who wants to be involved in the nitty grittyand will still get you 20-30 goals a season , where as you have Welbeck who will run the channels and has bags of pace and energy and will get 10-20 goals a season then you have Chicharito who is more of a poacher but is not the complete player everyone thinks he is his touch is inconsistant and he lacks something different but what he does bring is guarenteed goals. Van Wolfswinkel is more of a Ruud Van Nistelrooy tall , powerful , good in the air and leathal finisher if we have all these for and can get Macheda firing and bring Will Keane through then Fergie and manager after him (mourinho) a selection headache.

Not a bad team out tonight although Adnan is a big miss. Our mostly 1st year scholars of 16/17 year old's up against Chelsea's 2nd/3rd year scholars of mostly 17/18 year old's is a massive test. Cannot see us winning, but the experience will be good for them. If we were to win this one then a Blackburn side of 17/18 year old's will be waiting too. We were never supposed to get this far this season, but this is what this club is all about.

I presume Giatan (if true) is to replace Giggsy - who should we then bring in to replace Paul Scholes?

Pogba's agent seems to be implying good things about the meeting he had with utd yesterday. I reckon he will sign up when we win the league!

Yesterday we hear that a £25m deal plus 2 players had been done by Utd to secure the services of Gaitan. According to the same paper today it is now £20.6m plus 2 players, deal done! Anyone think this is genuine, especially with rumours of Hazard floating about. I thought these two played in the same position so surely we won't go for both? Thoughts anyone?

if giatan is available in the summer for 22m then that wouldn't be a bad move IMO and add to that martinez/strootman(?)/sissokho and a left back aly cissokho and maybe a few free agents like clyne then
that would be a very good transfer window.

in:

giatan 22m
martinez 25-30m
cissokho 12-15m
clyne free
total: 67m
out:

park - 2m
berbatov - 8m
evra - 8m
macheda - 2m
kuszack - free
de leat - 1m
giggs - retire
total: 21m

total spent: 48m

most of the players in are a real possibility, maybe not martinez but you could swap him with strootman(?) or sissokho.

thoughts anyone?

Long time reader never posted love the site tho really good job .the messi ronaldo debate was good but imo messi is the bomb .he produces all the time dribblin passing team play and goals . Just cause he hasn played in pl doesn mean he couldn do it . Why would he leave best team in world breaking records all time . This guy is special . On another note how you feeling about gaitain rumour if true I'm happy he looks really good and gives versatility something fergie likes .

pogba going to juventus and we are getting milos krasic

other news:
in: clyne + hazard {Ed004's Note - Why would we want Krasic and hazard? That would leave us with Young, Nani, Valencia, Park, Krasic and Hazard as right footed wingers?}

Cban {Ed001's Note - might well do so on the main site, though it would be more of a general Euro's discussion page.}

Lads would Gaitan Hazard and Van Wolfswinkel be a successful spending spree for the summer ??

Devil Dust. {Ed004's Note - No because we still wouldn't have a commanding central midfielder. That should be our main priority imo}

Sorry for the cut and paste:-

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says Saturday's fixture at Norwich will be harder than the Mancunian derby against title rivals United later this month. "United is easy," he said. "We could lose or we could win but it is an easy game. Against United or Chelsea, our concentration will be 100%. Norwich will be really tough because we have only had two days to recover after West Brom."

Why does manchini consistantly talk garbage, seriously though I can't remember a time when hes been able to say a couple of words that have ever made any sense....

must be sniffing wayyyyyyyyy too much glue

Think that the majority of the fans on here are disgusting who are u to slate plays we want to improve out squad coz u have had a go on football manager and think we should sign thm as a priority it's a joke gaitan is a very class player he got a delivery like Valencia and better skills than nani with one of the best passes frOm a winger in the world he is going to be a great player ,, and why should we get hazard who has not got a place in the united team coz we dnt play a player where he plays and he got the wrong attitude an work effic to make it at united and he would cost almost double of gaitan and is only 2 years younger !! all u cardboard cut outs of united fans make me sick get off ur football manager and live in the real world and back players that come to this great club!! {Ed004's Note - You do know Gaitan hasn't signed yet}

Was just thinking about the squad, i know that we need a central midfielder but i am not convinced that we will get an established one. Look at the players we have going into next season, Scholes, Giggs, Carrick, Fletcher, Pogba, Cleverly and Anderson. Personally it wouldn't surprise me if Cleverly and Anderson are the future in SAF's eyes, to add to that i wouldn't be surprised to see Kovacic and Barkley come in over the next couple of seasons.

Perhaps a squad player like Rasmus Elm might be being looked at so that a talented attacker that can unlock defences like Eden Hazard can come in as if we sign him, i don't see us having much left in the bank.

I'm not saying i don't want a good central midfielder to come in, but SAF may be looking inwardsm he trusts Carrick, Scholes, Giggs and Fletcher and has faith in the others. All i'm saying is don't expect too much.

Hey Ed, I was just wondering, if Man Utd win their next two games against Aston Villa and Everton, and Man City lose or draw one of their next two matchs against Norwich and Wolves, will Man Utd win the Premiership title at Man City, should they win?

Breeno {Ed004's Note - There is a mathematical chance I think that Utd could win the league at City. It is, however, extremely unlikely.}

I am going simply on what happened last summer. We spent 50mil give or take on 3 players. If the circumstances are the same I think we could spend 50million on Hazard (30-35million), Moussa Sissoko (8-12million) and Aly Cissokho (7-10million).

Hazard is a must for me, could go for Rodriguez though. Instead of Sissoko we could go for Strootman. Left back wise I think Cissokho is the only one to replace Evra. Alba is too attacking minded for me.

Sorry to cut and paste;

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will this summer look to lure Ajax pair Jan Vertonghen & Christian Eriksen after being assured by his board that funds will be made available to him in order to launch a significant bid for the duo.

The Frenchman is looking to bring in new additions to his squad to help build on his side’s good run of form that should help secure a top four finish and the added carrot of Champions League football that will help the Gunners to lure top notch talent that Wenger feels will help his side challenge for major honours.

Belgian international Jan Vertonghen has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal for some time and the fact that the Ajax captain is able to effectively play at centre back as a defensive midfielder and that adaptability is said to greatly interest Arsene Wenger who is lining up a bid in the region of £10m for the 24 year old who has just over a year to run on his current contract.

Wenger is also looking to sign young Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen who has is considered by many to be one of the hottest prospects in European football. The 20 year old was instrumental in Ajax’s successful Eredivisie title triumph last term, notching up eight goals and 15 assists in the 47 matches he played for the Amsterdam club last term.

Eriksen has continued his upward development and showed great maturity this season and is the Eredivisie’s top assist maker as he looks to help Frank De Boer’s side to retain the domestic title. Ajax would be loathed to lose such a prized asset but may well find it hard to keep the talented attacking midfielder and some sources believe that bids in the region of £20m may well be accepted to help invest in the club’s squad.

Wenger will look to offload a number of his Arsenal squad to help make way for new additions and is to offload Nicklas Bendtner, Manuel Almunia, Andrei Arshavin, Carlos Vela, Marouane Chamakh and Sebastien Squillaci in order to help boost his transfer fund pot and to clear big-earners from the club’s balance sheet.

Hope if they go for Eriksen we respond quick with a bid.

i took this from bbc gossip so not sure of reliability of story.

Just a question for peoples opinions.

We came into this season with 4 central mids (Fletch, Carrick, Cleverly & Anderson) I felt this was to few.Now with the return of Scholes and Fletch's longterm illness we still have 4 (am not counting the likes of Pogba yet)

How many CM's do you all feel a well balanced squad should have? Also how do you think a squad should be balanced number wise between Goal, defence, mids & fwds?
Would be intersted in your opinions.

Out of curiosity if you were given the choice who would you choose between Ronaldo and Messi for our team. I think Messi is the better player but how good would it be to have ronny back.
So who would you pick Ronaldo or Messi?
