Was watching England U21's tonight and took 2 things from it.

1. When lingard cam on in 2nd half I was impressed with him again uses the ball well and looking to get forward.

2. I hope Moyes is keeping an eye on the progress of Ross Barkley. Really filled out now and looks like he has a great future ahead of him!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Barkley looks like an immense talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought the same about Barkley. I just mentioned it further down the page. His progress seemed to stall for a bit at Everton but his spells out on loan seem to have done him the world of good and I would definitely be happy for Moyes to make a move for him judging from today's performance.

I thought Sterling and Redmond outshone Lingard today but to be fair they had most of the game to impress compared to Lingard's cameo appearance at the end.

On another note, Michael Owen seems like a top bloke but his commentating on BT sport was painful to listen to! Haha He is no Gary Neville in that department, that's for sure!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the criminal thing from last night was it showed that the English youth isn't as bad as made out, but mroe importantly it is very sad that not many of these players went to the U21 world cup, clubs or national structure but we saw a fair few players who would have benefited far more from playing there than a holiday and friendly against Scotland! As for Barkley he is the only Everton player I would take, think he could become great. however he is still a fair way away from being a top midfielder as error prone and tries to much in dangerous areas, has a lot to learn and a year or two away I think from being a top player, hopefully Martinez improves parts of his game and with that in mind as we have the likes of Perriera only a couple of eyars away possibly too Barkley isn't the answer for me not this summer at least.

£26m bid for Luka Modric and £24m bid for Fellaini both to be tabled before weekend and the deals done before then and we would be a complete squad, keeping both Rooney and Nani, then selling Anderson

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Highly doubt modric will be as low as 26m, also if we didn't go to Fellainis buy out of 23m then we won't offer more straight off

That is a rubbish post with little thought

Agree0 Disagree0

Both Modric & Felliani bid's will be about £18-£20m to begin with. United will not pay more than £25m for Modric, Real bought him for £30m a year ago and he's not set the world alight since arriving there and Real are eager to offload. United don't need to bid too high. I think we'll get atleast one of them but both would be great.

@pardoe, even though this wasn't my post. the modric price if anything is too much, they want too raise some cash quickly before the window shuts so its all in united's hands more than madrid's.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Aug 2013 00:42:25
There's a twitter rumour for Modric plus cash for Rooney, sounds very unlikely to me

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Aug 2013 10:07:08
Modric was bought by real at 35 mil price, why on earth they would sell for less.
Madrid is an adament club to deal with. Check arsenal or spurs, Higuain an example

Ross Barkley just scored a very well taken goal for the u21's after coming on to replace the injured Chalobah. He could even be with a look at to bring in from DM's old club Everton. I could see him doing a job in a midfield 3, with the ability to drive forwards with a bit of pace and strength. Could take another year or 2 though until he is ready and we do need someone who can slot in instantly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

With 2 midfield signings to come before September 2nd

I for one welcome the reports that the Glazers are taking a hard line with Rooney by saying under no circumstances will he be allowed to join Chelsea.

Its about time a club put their foot down with some of these players, if he whinges stick the baastaad in the reserves

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Unlike arsenal with Rvp

Agree0 Disagree0

No, like Barca put their foot down with Fabergas. The Glazers are people and this will cost the club sooner or later because other players are watching and they talk among themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pardoe

I don't believe clubs should make players 'rot' in the reserves. People change over time and, if Rooney wants to leave, we should get the best price we can for him but we should let him go where he'll be happy. He's a human being, after all, and I wouldn't like us to shoe a lack of class and treat him like a commodity. We need to remember he gave us 7 great years before things began to slide.

It damages our reputation in front of other players and agents, as well.

Finally a BIG signing for Utd this summer, we've just signed 6foot 2, 15yr old Irish defender Jimmy Dunne from Dundalk, knew we had a BIG buy in us.Another Irish hero on the way, nice to see we still have some decent youth in our country. Good luck Jimmy.
RedKen

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's northern irish

Agree0 Disagree0

We signed him a couple of days ago, Chelsea and others wanted him, but he chose us. Like you said already 6ft 2" at 15 years old. He's athletic too, not just a beanpole.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Could this be why we kept the no. 7 shirt free? If SAF is still around I think we can mould him into a decent midfielder ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

He's from Dundalk Bippo

Agree0 Disagree0

Dundalk is in the south. he's from the republic.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was at United's Belfast academy but he's from Dundalk so he ain't Northern Irish.

Evening guys. I'm in Portugal. Going to the Portugal v Holland match tomorrow. All Portuguese newspapers are saying that CR7 is renewing his contract with Real. All my Portuguese friends, are convinced he will stay at Real.
Of course this might be utter rubbish, but just thought I'll let you know. Move on to the next target! (Andy Carroll! Lol. Only a joke, so, GDS, honebadger, steviek, calm down)!
Nomidfield

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sure anyone here or in Portugal is certain of anything.

Interesting that Ronaldo has not tweeted anything for 5 days when he was prolific prior to that. It means nothing in itself but rumours today indicated CR was not going to sign a new contract before the window closes plus as we know Marca don't get everything right.

It is doubtful our owners would make such a statement of intent but I live in hope

Agree0 Disagree0

Enjoy nomidfield I just got back from algarve on sat some friends are still there for another week and bought tickets for tommorow nights game from the continente supermarket in portimao 15 euros a ticket.he is having football withdrawl symptons he also went to watch west ham v sporting lisbon in portimao last monday night he asked me to go but it probably would of got me grief with a large utd crest tatooed on my leg lol

Agree0 Disagree0

How is your holiday, we are in Crete which is great? It does feel like a ludicrousmwindow right now, I have no idea what is going to happen. I really do hope we sign 2 top notch midfielders though, just so you have to think of a new name. NewMidfield perhaps? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks guys. Weather still very hot, but looking forward to seeing two good teams playing good football hopefully. And of course rvp is here!
We bought tickets from supermarket continiente for €15! Pretty cheap!
If modric and fellaini are signed then NewMidfield is the name. Have a good night guys. Enjoy your hols ajh.

Whilst we are all panicking and bitching about Moysey let's spare a thought for City who let the best young talent in world football slip through their fingers. Isco will be the natural successor for Iniesta in the Spanish side and City could have had him for 27 million. They will regret missing out on him for years. What a player light years ahead of any young English players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ahem, sorry to ruin your point but I think you forgot about a young man called 'TC23' :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Gav, good point. And don't forget Stewart Downing

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah KLOOT Isco is good and that but come on, Cleverley has much more potential, the next Beckham in my eyes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst we are doing that, let's also be utterly embarrassed and disgraced that scouts associated with our club deemed him "not fast enough" and "not influential enough in games".

Agree0 Disagree0

Moving away from the likes of Ronaldo, Bale, etc. Who would you guys realistically like to actually see come in?

Personally, I would love to see us go in fully committed and try and pull Marco Verratti away from PSG. I know he was reported as being 'unhappy' at PSG last month, but not sure if anything has developed since? Initial fee, and wages would be within our reach I feel, if the player would be interested.

As well as Verratti, I don't think it's inconceivable to potentially get Lamela from Roma. Again, initial fee and wages shouldn't be an issue, and would provide us with some genuine quality in the kin of a wide player who can come inside and produce some real bits of magic (and a good quantity of goals to boot!).

An attack/midifeld of RVP, Rooney, Kagawa and Lamela, with Carrick and Verratti sitting behind them. I'd be a happy bunny indeed!

Thoughts and comments welcome as always.

WF Red Devil

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That would be a good summer but instead of verrati i'd probabbly go all out for vidal. I think with vidal and if we go hard for reus or draxler we would be in a very good position come this season.

Regaurding centerbacks, vida, rio were/are great players both r injury prone, smalling seems to have gone backwards proberbly due to the injury's, they keep telling us Jones is world class so why not tell him he's 1sr choice and build the defence around him (b4 he gets fed up and buggers off) bigred1

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd like to see Jones at Centre Half and told he is there to stay. I think he has incredible potential and we should stop arseing around with his position.mmi think he is Captain material and we should allow him to make the odd mistake in the short term.

I've been thinking about this for a while now.

There are so many of us fans in India out there who might want to go to Manchester United Cafe for the games or just catch up for a healthy discussion/banter. We can always have a meet up especially for guys in Delhi NCR and Mumbai.

Lemme know what you all think.

I suggest having such meetups elsewhere as well if someone is willing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Aug 2013 19:32:35
hey I live in pune and we also have a UTD cafe and an offical MU store very happy about that .but it is very difficult to get into the cafe on matchdays cause it insane in there anyway man if u come down to pune please visit it on a matchday the atmosphere is just mind blowing

Agree0 Disagree0

It's great to here about how good our support is in far flung parts of the planet. Keep up the good work guys!

From cloudy South Wales,

Japs

Tell me if there are any meet ups lined up for Delhi NCR. Will be happy to pop in, with my Rooney replica top ;)

Deeps.

Agree0 Disagree0

Deeps

Lol. Then it's only going to be a Rooney discussion. :)

I'm in Gurgaon and don't mind having a meet up at the Utd Cafe there next month. this way we'll have enough time to let people know of it and there'll be enough fodder for discussion post the transfer window.

What say?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Gav,

I was referring to India not Papua New Guinea or the Haiti Islands. India's a big market and this year they've even started Hindi commentary to popularize it further.

Asia tours almost every second season should be ample proof of Asia's importance to United and India and China are the biggest countries in Asia and I'm sure we're pretty mainstream and not far flung.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, sorry guys I wasn't taking the mick! :D I just meant its far from manchester/britain I wasn't having a kloot style rant! Poor turn of phrase on my part

Japs, I am well aware of where India is and how big it is. Would love to travel Asia one day and will be asking you guys for tips if I do.

Deeps, would defo give you a shout.

Hb

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you in favour of hindi commentary? I hate it. English commentary is far better and gives us a different kind of view and more fun.
I was sad to hear that games are going to be broadcasted in hindi commentary

I think one big fish is coming in this window. Its just the matter of how big this fish is.

Personaly I would like to see a Tiote type in our midfield. Just harvesting the ball from the opponent. Strong, quick and fearless. Havent had one of those since Kean.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tiote is nothing like Roy Keane!

Roy led the team, he won the ball, he defended, he attacked, he scored goals, led by example in terms of commitment and effort - football legend.

Tiote gets red cards regularly - and that's the only vague similarity.

Nope don't want him - rubbish on the ball - rather bring through one of the kids than spend money on him

Otherwise he's ok ;-)

Pedroknight

Agree0 Disagree0

Difference was Keane could also play football!

Fabs

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Tiote would be a stickleback no thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand what you mean but Tiote isn't anywhere near good enough IMO. We need someone like Vidal, Gustavo, Gundogan etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about James 'Perch' or 'Salmon' Kalou?

I know, I know, I'm sorry.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing I ment was that we could use someone with his strenght and urge to get the ball back to the team. that's the only similarity I ment mate! :)

Why not put a cheeky bid of around 17-20m pounds for Ramires. He'll be perfect to partner Carrick in midfield. A good engine in midfield and drives the team forward while Carrick sits back.
BB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mourinho has repeatedly stated how highly he rates Ramires and tried to sign him twice with Madrid.

RedRosie

Agree0 Disagree0

Good player, but I would rather we put £30 million on the table in Turin for Vidal. Basically, like Ramires, but he can pass, shoot, tackle and head the ball better and has equal stamina, better strength, and superb vision.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because they paid more than that when they bought him and as you have clearly noticed he's a great asset to the Chelsea side especially in the big games.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually quite rate Ramirez, but maybe it's due to performances (individual goal) against us in particular.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 17:08:48
Sorry that I didn't realise that there are people on here who are too thick to know that my Ronaldo/Anderson in Mcdonalds post was a bit of light hearted banter. They have been brought up on United always winning things and always having been able to buy whoever they want. Thank god none of them were around in the 70s when the highlight of the season was maybe beating Liverpool in a league match.Give the new manager time and the success will continue, even if we don't win the league this year.Remember how long it took Ferguson to win the league!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought I was funny mate. You are correct there I started going in the 1970s .Beating Liverpool was the highlight of the season. We are so lucky to support the biggest and best club in the world. Moyes will be good for us but let's all give him time. We only need a few additions and we will raring to go.Its just so frustrating waiting for new signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never would have guessed lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, I knew that as soon as I read it and I was laughing my head off when all the serious replies from the "positive, united can do no wrong"posters started coming in.
Chill out boys, it was only said in jest.
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

I was at anfield in early 70's. My brother and I bought tickets from a tout and he assured us it was in the visitors end. When we got there, it was in the Kop. Every time scousers attacked, we went down ten rows then back up!
Good news is we won 2-0. If my memory serves me right, Ted McDougal scored both goals? Maybe someone old enough can confirm that?
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I would rather we finish 2nd or 3rd, but see a return to exciting football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nomidfield

I was at a game in 1972 where Ted MacDougal scored against Liverpool in a 2 nil win but it was at Old Trafford. Those days the Stretford End was like that.

What are you thoughts on Christian Erikson, really talented, would improve the team, and would provide a great creative flair through the middle, and if he is available for £15 I don't think it would hurt!
SJT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Plays in the same position as Kagawa and isn't as good as Kags, other areas need strengthening.

Nathaniel

Agree0 Disagree0

He's big headed and would upset the atmosphere in the dressing room. Teams win trophies not individuals.

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy struggles.

I wouldn't say he's any better than Taarabt personally.

very lightweight, panics a lot.

personally I think he'll end up at somewhere like Roma or Wolfsberg - that seems about his level.

if Roma want him though I'll happily take Lamela.

The lack of transfer activity is certainly taking its toll on a lot of United Fans. I for one am hopefull we land a superstar and am waiting and waiting for some news. I can't help feeling though if Wazza came out and publicly declared he was staying things would feel so much calmer. Deep down I fear that we are planning to let him go with no new signings coming in, something is telling me though that the new gaffa has an ace up his sleeve! I guess I will just have to keep watching tv all day!

Elmo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We don't necessarily need a superstar, just a couple of top end midfielders and possibly a left back and possibly a left winger.

I say possibly because i'm wary of bringing in established players who will block the development of the young players breaking into the team.

With the number of excellent midfielders transferring for not much money (Paulinho, Van Ginkel, Gustavo, Tiago, Strootman etc), I'm assuming Moyes has something in place or he can get some significant improvement out of what we already have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Gan or Ngiak one of them maybe both says 2 have been paid for, maybe they are arguing amongst themselves

Not at all surprised Rooney is fit for England, but not united! A bit of honesty wouldn't go amiss

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The lies are not out of spite they are merely to protect the club's interests! Rightly or wrongly that is how these things work.

If you are that bothered by honesty then don't read the rags, just wait to see where he is on 2nd September.

HB

Agree0 Disagree0

United said Rooney was fit, but although he was able to train, he was unable to do contact training.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or maybe in a decent side like united you have to be fully fit to get in the team. as in match fit, which means you have to of played, which he hasnt.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2013 15:09:32
Just going to throw this one out there to see who has thought about it and opinions.
We are not going to sign anybody! The mgmt will say that our team is the best in England still and the other teams have only bought big to catch up with us so why fix it if its not broken or there was no value in the market and we couldn't get the big signings we wanted. Also that we have added quality from our youths and we will use them this season.
So who has prepared for this news, I'm kinda starting to think this way and I'm going to be positive about it, I still think we can win the league maybe not the champions league but we will have a go.
RedKen

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No I don't believe that. Particularly the "why fix it if its not broken" bit, since Moyes has been quite open that we need midfielders and that he'd like to bring in a couple additions.

HB

Agree0 Disagree0

I still think we will have players this week. My money is still on Fellani as a cert. I can't see Ronnie coming or Bale but Modric may be a possibility IMO. Quite disappointing with the links that have seemed possible but Fellani will give us a different angle in the centre. Where he was carrying a lot of weight in the Everton team, he will not have as much expectancy initially with better players around him. This may give him more opportunity to develop a definitive role in the midfield where he can only get better.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the stall has been set in preparation for no signings. I've lost count of how many times Moyes has said he would be happy to go into the new season with the current crop of players.

I'm not quite sure if I share your positivity regarding the matter but time will tell. 'Tis a dangerous game Moyes is playing though; if he doesn't hit the ground running he is going to be under real pressure and no signings will certainly give the pessimists the ammunition they need.

I do fear that, in terms of transfer targets he is setting the bar a little high, unrealistically so. However, I can't decide whether this is a specific tactic, as they realise that nobody is buying into the "no value in the market" rhetoric. Who knows. To be honest I'm getting a little bored with the constant BS the Manchester United PR machine churns out on a daily basis. A little transparency would be nice.

But, at the end of the day, I'm in it for the football not the internal politics so bring on the new season, transfers or no transfers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally prepared mate. Makes sense. Bring in a GOOD MANAGER (I'm NOT slating Moyes here) who gets results without spending, have SAF in the wings to quell any 'mutiny' and see how the chips fall.

If it works, happy days. If it doesn't, I hope the Glazers give Moyes money rather than sack him. You need a balance. Fans expect a return from the money they put in, simple as that. 2-3 sigings, don't have to be Fabregas-esque, would fine-tune the squad nicely but no signings?

GDS will be quoting me again, haha.
Lucky to finish top 3 without SOME reinforcements.

RED_SKY

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will buy players. But if not, then third position is the best we can hope for.
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

We will spend to both strengthen the team and in the process keep the fans happy as well.i don't know how season ticket sales are going, but i'm now getting emails from utd asking me to refer a friend for one.
johndenton

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm puzzled by the lack of action. If we'd signed Paulinho and Gustavo for example we'd be pretty much sorted and all for £34 mill.

Has Moyes been put off by our previous experiences with South American midfielders?

Agree0 Disagree0

How is Moyes, who has only had the job 6 weeks, supposed to know our experience with any players?
Signings haven't been signed because DM is a sucker for detail and his scouting system. He was in Everton mode 7 weeks ago and wasn't aware what was needed.
That clear it up Andrew?

Agree0 Disagree0

Andrew, I was at WHL on Saturday and I must say Paulinho did look an impressive player, solid but could play. Looks a good buy for the price

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really shaneguy, but thanks. what you're describing is paralysis by analysis.

I'm not saying any old midfielder will do but if those two players could be signed with little fuss for that kind of money, what the hell is there to think about?

I'm sure Moyes noticed kleberson and Vernon didn't work for us even though he was all the way down the m62, but it was meant more as a throwaway remark rather than an impediment to signing a couple of brazilians

I refer to the John Carrick post regarding the alleged 6 year bumper deal for Ronaldo. This has either been taken off the site because he's in too deep and getting his source into deep trouble or he's on some ridiculous form of magic mushrooms. However, do you think Moyes would be showing interest in all these big name players if he had no intention of signing good players? Yes the transfer window ends soon, but would he want to put up with disgruntled fans for the rest of the season, should the results suffer as a consequence? I think not. Expect late business in my opinion, fingers crossed

Can I just say, although Nani has a mixed response from the fans, his desire to stay and fight for his place is truly admirable and If he applies himself correctly, we all know he can be a match winner on his day. Great attitude regardless.

Anyway, I have a question for you lot. In an ideal world, if United had the choice between Bale and Ronaldo, who would you guys go with and why?

For me it would be Ronaldo. In his ultimate prime at present, would score a ton of goals and of course, that No. 7 shirt is waiting for him. Although Bale would be awesome for us, i'm not sure he would score as many goals and i'm pretty sure Madrid would come calling in 3/4 years.

Your thoughts?

p.s this is just hypothetical, so don't bite my head off! {Ed004's Note - Id happily take over but probably Ronaldo as he is better and would possibly be cheaper}

Interesting interview on with Graham H. this morning.

Basically Ancelotti (spelling sorry) is pro Ronaldo. Will not take Bale if it risks losing CR7. Ancelotti has put a lot of effort in to "getting to know Ronaldo", and he believes that Bale aside CR7 is as happy as he's ever been at Madrid.

However! Perez, club president, is mad for Bale, and seemingly not concerned how CR7 feels about it.

He is very clear that CR7 wants to be number one attraction in Madrid, and will leave if unhappy. Bale could be the trigger, possibly.

His overall belief is Ronaldo will stay for now but join on a free in 12/24 months. It may be that Bale determines if it is 12 or 24.

That said Perez is barking mad enough to risk 0 months if it costs Madrid millions in 12 or 24 months time?

How can we even think about selling Rooney to any prem side we need to convince him he's at the best team in the world big poppa red

I find it rather amusing really to see all the posters who a few days/weeks ago wanted Rooney out. But now that the penny has dropped and that there is no replacement coming and doesn't appear to be coming, all looking for Rooney to stay bit sad really considering what he's done for team in the past. Real supporters of united know this and the dreamers who want worldies joining us can get a life. United not the same draw post fergie IMO and mega rich clubs appear to have the upper hand in the transfer market

Believable0 Unbelievable0

"All what he's done for the team"

You do know that's his job and that he gets paid a mind boggling amount of money to do it.

Madness to want Rooney out. Let's get behind him, he has been a consistently great performer for us. Last season was a blip. Under Moyes he good be on fire again. We'll regret it if we let him go, especially if no replacements are coming the other way.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wake up will you! he has been playing like a grumpy brat for last lock of years, he isn't able too play well enough to match his ego! over paid and over fed

Agree0 Disagree0

No name, remind us how many goals and assists Rooney had last year? While playing rubbish as you tell us.
Also remind us how many goals Rooney scored two seasons ago?
Pls get your facts right instead of jumping on the bandwagon. You're not making sense, as Rooney, despite an average season by his standards, still managed to bang in 16 goals playing mostly in midfield or on the wings.
Show me another midfielder who scored that many goals? Any ideas?
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Second no name. Rooney played average this season, yet he scored 18 goals and he bagged 16 assists. However, I agree he played poorly at times. His inconsistency was the main issue. His passing was either excellent, or poor, and the same with his touch and at times his shooting. Yet you say he has played poorly for years. The season before he scored 34 goals and he got 20 assists. His passing, finishing, vision and touch was superb that year. Most people on here said him or RvP for Player of the Season. Yet now many people on here claim he was poor, he passed badly or his touch was bad. Yes Rooney is a bit of a tw*t, but a very talented player, who scores and makes plenty of goals, which we don't want to give to Chelsea. They would walk the league.

That is not exactly what he said, in fact far from it. The journalist was Graham H. and I have submitted a post outlining just how fragile things are in Madrid based on his comments. The wild card is Perez who as we know is angry with CR7.

Rooney should follow what Nani is doing at the moment.
He is ready to fight for the place in the team by performing well.
He wants to prove to DM that he deserves his Spot in the team and doesn't want to
move on to pastures new to make his life easier.

He Said "I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes I want to be at my best and score
a lot of goals.Like I said, I just need to be at my best and everything will come together.

Alright guys.

Just quick post to say how dissappointed I am in the way the whole rooney saga is been drawn out and the lies that the club have been feeding us supporteers the last few months.

i know a lot of it is hyped up by the media but watching the footage of rooney training with england just really annnoyed me.

id rather moyes and the club said nothing than come out and tell us lies like he's injured etc why couldn't he be on the bench for rio's testimonial? the community shield?

the whole standard of the club and the strong values the the club have held in all aspects of club conduct spearheaded by sir alex is quickly been unravelled.

cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's obvious Rooney wants to leave so why have such a strong character affecting the squads attitude during training it's not healthy, he's obviously using the England training which is on Sky to prove a point.
Pity he didn't show that desire during most of last season when playing for us.
Dylan

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you see rooney training at Carrington last week.no because its not pathetic reporting is it. Get a grip.the club is lying to us etc. How old are you?

They have a player problem they are trying to deal with in house and the media especially sky are hyping it out of the box.

Agree0 Disagree0

He trained saturday for the first time but yet hodgson says he has been fit for days?!

i have my opinion you have your's (whoever you are as u didn't leave a name) so relax and come down of that high horse!

Agree0 Disagree0

You help enforce my point by quoting press hype. hodgson said etc. trained first time Saturday. You don't know the facts so you can't accuse our club of lying. The worst thing any Utd supporter should do is read a daily rag. Especially gulibles like you who take it all in. Your're like a sponge mate. think for yourself and quit taking in Sky biased reporting. Climbing back now on my horse.!

To quote Gary Neville on Rooney
'Manchester United, at this moment in time, would be mad to sell him. Along with Robin Van Persie, he has been the most successful player in terms of goals and assists in the last five years of the Premier League."

I agree and for one am non plussed with the number of so called fans calling for him to be sold down the river especially to Chelsea. Take a look yesterday, when Jamie Redknapp was calling for him to force a move out but then you should sit back and realise who Redknapp supports or favours most and then how much disruption it would cause to us. It would benefit our opposition most of all.
Time to treat Rooney as one of our own and it is also time for him to make a positive statement.

I am with Nev on this one.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

'So called fans'? So essentially you're saying that any one who would be happy to see a sulking, unprofessional player who may potentially be a bad influence in the rest of the squad, is not a real fan?

I'm genuinely not bothered either way. Does that mean I'm not a real fan?

This site is about people staying their opinions regarding the club. Just because they don't agree with you doesn't mean they don't love the club as much as the next guy.

Agree0 Disagree0

What if Rooney does want to go though? Nobody on the continent is interested. There is no way he is playing as the main striker ahead of RVP so he will have to play behind him in the hole. I don't think he wants to do that.

The good thing is though that Rooney has no power over us now. 2 years left on his contract, if we say "You have to stay", he has to stay.

I agree selling him to Chelsea would be wrong since it would improve upon what they have.

Although I completely disagree with the "Time to make him feel loved" argument. Player power in the dressing room would be a disaster.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney ronaldo rvp. Now that is a strike force.
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont make opinion on any1 just by reading papers. have u met him personally? Have u spoke to him whts his actual problem, if any.

R u his colleague or boss to say he is un professional?
He played out of position all the time last season. How do u expect him to motivate himself when rvp is banging goals and taking credit. when he, himself can score a lot.

Dont judge with states. keep some practical and logicial eye open.

Rodio17

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't need to be a friend or colleague to see that Rooney is unprofessional. I also don't formulate opinions based on the papers.

My opinion is based in the fact that he drinks, smokes and has been visibly overweight for at least a year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Son of Matt, Rooney has not been unfit for at least a year. He was unfit at the start of the season, but after a month, he was at peak fitness, and he ran more metres than any other Man United player. The fact is, Rooney is a lot fitter that the likes of Ferdinand, Carrick, Vidic, RvP, but people claim Rooney is unfit since he is naturally bulky. I agree he needs to stop smoking and drinking, but he does not smoke or drink heavily, and people on here never moaned about Berba smoking.

Liverpool have more chance of qualifying for Europe if they get rid of Suarez, he is hoping that there is still a place up for grabs for the team with the best disciplinary record in the fair play table!
