Another day, still no progress on the Sneijder deal, if there is even any progress to be made? This is the first time in a while it has been so up in the air, and i believe there are another two real quality players coming in. I do believe sneijder is on his way to United, but i have a feeling Fergie is plotting for Modric, no sources within the club, just a feeling.

Would love to see some of Ravel Morrison, Paul Pogba and Ryan Tunicliffe, I believe these players have a huge future at our club, really talented individuals, can understand why Fergie is nurturing them for so long, Remenisant of the Class of 92? CLAIM

Sneijder (27) for £35m doesn't look too bad now does it? Not when Liverpool have just paid £20m for Downing (27).

I can't understand why some people are talking about the sell on value of Sneijder. Maybe we should be looking at him as the man who will run our midfield for the next 6 or 7 years. We need to settle our midfield like the days of Keane and Scholes if we are to have any chance of kicking Barcarole up the arse Let's be honest 20 will come as will 21 and the rest but we will only be truly great if we can overtake the scum at European cup level as well as catching up with Madrid and Milan.

I just signed Sneijder in Fifa and he only cost 16 million... And also by coincidence, Nasri has just become available on a free transfer

Couple of thing.

@ Naugho'matic.

If you are certain that Sanchez is still likely to be targeted then do you know of any back up options as I'm sure SAF would have 2-3 options before any enquiring is done?

@ Moon.

I like Diouf. Think he would give us a total different option up top to all other payers at the club. I too agree his loan was kind of off because of the team he went to I thought he should have joined Tom at Wigan. At least they try to play football.

@ ASHWI.

Game programme start at 1am but build up programmes start few hours before.

@ The guy with Sneijder signed team.

------------De Gea-

Twin---Smalling--Vidic---Evra-

--------Fletcher-
----------------Sneijder-

Toni--------Rooney-----Nani/Young-

------------Chicha-

That's my strongest 11 but all positions have good enough players in the squad to rotate and not effect the team in terms of quality which is an excellent thing to have.

@ Rincewind.

Good idea I was gonna put forward a similar idea myself and also include a few extra points like our own teams top scorer/assists. I'm sure there would be more than enough interest just look at how many replied to Moon's prediction game for transfers. It would have to be a visible page though as the likelihood would be everyone would forget what they put 10 months later haha.

@ Red Knight........ It's on like Donkey Kong biiiiiiiiiiiaaaaaatch.

I can't see Man Utd wrapping up Snjeider deal this week. I think the target is Nasri. Fergie has come out and said that he thinks its unlikely we will sign him. How often does Fergie talk about who he is interested in signing. He hasn't mentioned Snjeider yet. I think he's letting Nasri know that he's wanted at Utd.

I think he's hoping Nasri will force a move through to Man Utd. I can see maybe Utd offering upto 27 million for him, that would be very hard for Arsenl to turn down.

With this being a banter site, I thought the point was to have banter with your fellow fans. You know, post something, leave it open for anybody to reply. Any thoughts Ed?

Of all the names being bandied about in relation to 'probable' transfer targets, is Eden Hazard not one for the future and why is there seemingly not much comment on him ? I have seen some footage on YouTube and he looks an exciting prospect and on 20 yr to boot. He's miles ahead of Carrick( who is'nt ?) who amazes me that he has'nt or was'nt off loaded already . Any thoughts Ed ?

Just seen Sneijder buy a £5 ticket for an easyjet flight to Manchester Airport .. Wish people would stop talking rubbish and post something worth a read.

PS Ed - do you read anything into Nikes page saying sneijder plays for United, or could it be a hack or something along those lines? {Ed007's Note - I have absolutely no idea why the Nike site was saying that, but it truthfully was.}

If we sign Sneijder which I hope we do, does anyone else think we would be best to drop Hernandez? Rooney up top on his own was unbelievable in 09/10 and Sneijder's best position is obviously off the striker. As big a fan of Hernandez as I am his hold up play undoubtedly needs work and he is still learning. As an impact sub he could be deadly on tiring defences. Ideally we will get the Rooney and Sneijder of 09/10 and Hernandez showing last seasons form. If we need to change formation we have more options than last season.

{Ed007's Note - Rincewind, I have left your post for one of the more technically gifted Eds, but it seems like a good idea to me. We could maybe have a predictions section, where all the regulars can post their predictions for the coming season and they will be there for all to see and can't be changed}

Kuszchak linked with the bundesliga (notably leverkusen and nurnburg) with a reported fee of between 1 and 3 million being talked about.

I also believe that johnny evans may be either sold or sent out on loan due to the fact that we have so much cover for the centre half positions.

Who do you guys think will be the other departures?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

13 Jul 2011 18:53:30
SAF may have just made a slight blunder on MUTV, he was talking about Pogba & Co saying that he probably could have taken one or two more, BUT he said that when the rest of the lads fly over there will be 29 over here.

Well there would actually be 27, but could he have two more lined up to join the camp? Or one more plus Valencia?

Have to say I'm not 100% convinced on the Sneijder piece. By all accounts there is still a pretty big gap on wages in the negotiations. There's also a lot more background noise than you'd typically see on a United transfer. Could it all be a smokescreen to hide something else in the background? Wouldn't be the first time.

IF sneijder sneijder signs what is our best team?
I think something like this:
-------------de gea----------------
Raf--vidic--ferdinand--evra
--------fletcher--------------------
----------------anderson---------
Valencia--sneijder--young
----------rooney-----------------

This is for big games and changes to 4-5-1 when defending. It has bags of pace and energy with two wingers who can deliver a brilliant cross. There are two mids ando and fletch who sit namely fletch, the more defensive of the two. Anderson will have some freedom to go forward.

The other line up i would choose is:
----------------de gea--------------
----Raf--vidic--ferdinand--evra----
----------------fletcher--------------
Nani/toni-----sneijder------young
---------rooney---hernandez---------

Which line up do you prefer and what would you do?

Over the last few years we've discussed Kiko and welbeck but we haven't really mentioned Diouf alot.

so, what do we all think about him?

Personally I think he's a top player, Very good all rounder and I'd love too see him get a chance in a real footballing team so that we can really see how good he is.

views guys?

....Gill and co. are trying to finalise the sneijder deal as soon as possible..an official bid in the region of 35 mil has already been lodged and Inter are on verge of accepting it..then gill and co. will talk to tha player to sort out the personal demands..expect sneijder to be a United player as early as next week...
anyway i have always been sure of 3 players arrival and have said here lot of times... De Gea has already come, Sneijder will come too..remains only sanchez..although Barca appeared to have hijacked the deal but its not done yet..United could still make an improved offer....dont shoot me...i know something...and i am no idiot...

what's going on now there is a reporter on ssn now saying that the arsenal fans will be upset that sami nasri would like a move to united but the gaffer said i think he as agreed to go somewhere else its unlikely that he will come to united something strange is going on here why didn't fergie just say no not coming 100% and why are reporters at ssn still linking him with us i don't have sources are anything like that just come on here to pass on what i have read or heard so can someone tell what is going on?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jul 2011 16:52:27
not sure what people think. but think if united got sneijder he could quite easily go onto play to as long as scholes did. at the minute he would be an attack minded midfielder but into his mid 30's could easily drop back as scholes did and sit deep and dictate play. by that time the good young players we have ala morrion pogba etc will be ready to establish themselves

Wesley Sneijder, Nike Football Player Page Nike Bootroom (GB)One of the most deadly accurate players in the world, Wesley Sneijder plays for Man Utd and wears the Nike T90 Laser III. ... Get the boot your game demands ...

Hmmm dont know what to think of that. Probably nothing since it said ozil was a man utd player last season on wiki so i would think something similar has happened here.

daft post ed but why are the pages so short these day you used to be able to see post from a few days ago and catch up if you not been on but now you get the past 12 hours is that because of the server change last week? {Ed001's Note - it is currently showing just one day's posts because of the amount of traffic the site gets now. We are looking into changing it to show just X amount of hours at a time, so that there won't be the dead zone in the early hours of the morning. It just takes time to adjust the programming so you will have to bear with us sorry. We will then just adjust how many hours to keep the pages at a manageable length over time.}

Sneijder 7 will be on the back of my new Man United Away shirt for this season, and with regards the guys wages - pay them, he WILL BE worth it. Easily the most creative attacking midfielder around in many people's books. A Wazza-Little P-Sneijder link-up sounds seemingly mouth-watering.
On top of this Anderson will be forced to up his game for a start, and i personally can see him improving vastly and even snatching a starting position depending on SAF's tactics...this season will bring major change and promises major excitement.

Also in most of the papers today has this news with the quotes of a 'source'.is this true?
Also seen in goal.com exclusive.

why we signing sneijder for 35m, yeh he a gd player but in 3 years time he gunna be 30 then any chance of getting any money bk for him isnt gunna happen. just look at berbertov if he is to be sold we will get nowhere near the 31.4 we bought him for.

Id like to see them sign either Hamsik who is only 23/24 for 20m. and if we were to sell we could at least atempt to get some decent money bk for him.

or Ganso or Sahin who are both only 21 and gunna be awesome players

Folks - enough of the Nasri and Sneijder talk PLEASE We are not signing either of these players - FACT This has been made clear by both clubs Please move on from this and start posting more realistic transfer targets (Ed - Do you argree?)
Ferguson is smart and will buy before the summers out - he knows we are lacking in central midfield - it may not be a world star but a player he has been monitoring for a while i'd say
20 Titles This Year :) {Ed007's Note - Why were/are Nasri and Sneijder not realistic targets?}

Looks like Defour is joining Lokomitv Moscow, so thats another person we can rule out.

Suprised if Nasri has chose City, bad move for him as he would play in the middle for Man Utd.

What Sotiris Ninis, thought we have been interested in him, i.e alternative to Snjeider, Nasri etc.

I think Ravell Morrison will be given a chance this season but like Joey Barton can't travel to US due to his criminal record.

Eds am i right in thinking that snjeider is getting closer and closer to signing for us.
