Not too bothered about Chelsea, i'm happier that Ronaldos goal in the 94th minute won me £120 from a free bet. 4-1 12/1. Happy with that!

I think Arsenal and Chelsea have reached their limit in the CL unless they get the Greeks and manage to squeeze another round out of it

Just seen Drogba go down holding his face when clearly no contact - even opened an eye to peep at the refs reaction - about time he was charged for his antics - surely he's bringing the game into disrepute every time he does this

Oh dear, it looks like Drogba has caught a touch of the Sergio Busquets.

I think its absolute nonsense that english football is on the way down, english clubs especially mufc have dominated europe for many years, mufc are in transition, chelsea need a fresh start with a manager that is trusted by the russian, arsenal have some great young players and tottenham have great players that lack experience,a few years time english clubs will be dominant again mark my words, who knows by then liverpool may finish in the top 6 and andy carroll may become liverpools main penalty taker and hit double figures for a season, joeyored

I imagine Ed002 is sat in a box at Stamford Bridge sipping Champagne. I wonder if he is as disappointed in Cavani as I am tonight? None of their attack have been that good surprisingly. What is it with the Italian teams playing away? They seem to be Jekyll & Hyde teams.

Bayern Munich's defeat of Basle should give us much food for thought; how far behind MUFC is in European terms.

Let's hope Chelski can show this form against City next week, that is beginning to look a very tough game for our neighbours.

I'm finding myself fanatically cheering on Chelski tonight so that the PL doesn't look too pants! Also, was that not a foul on Drogba in the penalty area?!?

Last night Liverpool beat Everton 3 nil.

Why bother mention it? Well it is something that I believe should give us a clear message, one that we should note loudly and something that could be very worrying.

I do not refer to Liverpools performance but the decision making of the Everton Manager David Moyes. Last night in a local derby , a key local derby in which Everton could have gone above Liverpool and made a real statement of intent against their greatest rivals. Instead he made six changes and chose a weakened side which lost poorly.

SAF plays weakened sides, but ask yourselves do you want a manager in Moyes who would sacrifice a game against City on the basis of a cup game 4 days away? Add to that some have paid £40 plus for a ticket to watch a disjointed below standard team, Everton fans for clarification.

For me David Moyes would be a step backwards at Old Trafford and last night proved it

SAF has confirmed Berbatov is to leave in the summer. He will no doubt eulogise about the player in the coming weeks to hide the fact it was generally a mistake to buy him.
I say generally but will give credit where it is due Berbatov has made contributions to success whilst sporadic and mainly at home. Still Berbatov has a lot of talent with undoubted silky skills but just never fitted into our style of football. That was pretty obvious when I first brought the subject up some time ago yet it was a pretty unpopular opinion on here at the time.

When it was announced he was getting a contract extension I surmised it was to increase his sale value and that now appears to be the case.

I wish Berbatov well at his next club and hope he gets a good few years to the end of his career at somewhere where he can enjoy himself, with his style he should be able to play for a good few years if he doesnt put too much weight on.

Whilst many dont yet agree I am also looking at Nani and his position as far from secure. He may stay but we will see in summer. With youth pushing and SAF looking at Hazard I feel Nani is at risk of being moved on.

Just looking back on some of the players that have come and gone recently, we would of had the most unbelievable team - it would be better than Barca is now. Have a look:

___________van der Sar

Rafael____Pique______Vidic____Evra

______Scholes_____Hargreaves

Valencia_____Rooney_____Ronaldo

____________Tevez

Subs: De Gea, Ferdinand, Jones, Carrick, Nani, Rossi, Hernandez.

That team would be just incredible.

In terms of team selection tomorrow, I think the Manchester United team line up will look like this.

Goalkeeper: De Gea
Left Back: Evra
Right Back: Rafael
Centre Backs: Ferdinand Evans
Midfield: Cleverly Carrick Park
Forwards: Hernandez Rooney Welbeck

I just think the team needs to match the opposition in terms of energy and pace. We wont play with two mid fielders because we were over ran at home so I think there formation has to be matched. I just think Sir Alex has to take a gamble with the selection, and three days recovery should be enough time for the weekend match against wolves.

I've seen a couple of games involving Milan Badelj, he could be the answer to our midfield. He looks a really great player at the age of 23 - bound to have a big move soon!

Just noticed we haven't got any Saturday games left this season. I know Sky pay a lot for games but makes things hard for fans.
Be good to see games back on a Saturday at 3pm.

Nice to see some good comments on Michael Carrick for a change from my fellow fans.
No surprise to me that we have looked better since him and the Ginger Prince have been back together in Midfield.
Good to see us keep the ball so well in the centre of the park and Carrick is also good at breaking up attacks. Would like to see him go forward more because he has the ability.
Keep on going Michael and you will get your 5th league winners medal in 6 seasons, can't be bad.

On the plane 2 Spain :

Manchester United (from): Amos, De Gea; Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ferdinand, Rafael, Smalling; Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs, Park, Pogba, Scholes, Young, Valencia; Berbatov, Hernandez, Rooney, Welbeck.

due to various reasons, would it be fair to say we are likely to lose rio, scholes, berba and macheda in the summer?
personally i would want park, giggs (instead of scholes) and nani to go but they may not leave for another year (nani maybe 2)
in an ideal world we would sign Javi Martinez, Hazard, Benatia and a top class striker however, i still believe we would be more likely to sign Rodwell and Gaitan (although Hazard still a possibility) with a young left back such as Willems coming in too

Have any Eds ever seen thiago neves play ??

i think weve missed a gem of a player in him!

in 180 club appearances he has scored 54 goals so a good return he is creative he would be a gamble but for the price of around 5-8million is it worth it ?

Ed's and anyone who may know...

I know Toni travelled with the team for the Bilbao game but...

Has Pogba Travelled? I know he played in the reserves recently but with SAF looking to convince him he will be given chances has he been included in the travelling squad?

Cheers

Monk

P.s surely with Ando being injured yet a agin Pogba can see he now has an opportunity to take his place in the team?

Oh and as much as i like Ando i think he needs move to a less intense league.

Okay, so this morning I took a little wander onto the 'Pool site to see how they reacted to their win last night, I was expecting them to be way over the top but one post really did make me die of laughter...

Now, Apparently Suarez and Messi have some similar characteristics AND the Argentina Midfield is comparable to Liverpool's... I think I've heard it all now.

Amos, De Gea; Evans, Evra, Fabio, Ferdinand, Rafael, Smalling; Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs, Park, Pogba, Scholes, Young, Valencia; Berbatov, Hernandez, Rooney, Welbeck

This is the travelling squad if it hasnt been posted yet as i couldnt see it sorry if it has ...

its a strong looking squad i will be pleased to see if valencia gets a run after five games out and if pogba gets some time on the pitch.

this is what id like to see....

-------------------De Gea--------------
Rafael/Smalling--Evans--Ferdinand--Evra
-------------Pogba-------Cleverley--------
------Valencia------Rooney--------Young----
------------------Hernandez-----------------

I know this probably wont happen it will probably be more like 442 with cleverley and carrick in the middle with welbeck and rooney up top but i hope not....

I hope we play a weakened team tomorrow, I couldn't give a turtle's tit about the Europa League. We need to sacrifice the Europa to retain the EPL. City will struggle juggling both the Europa and their remaining EPL games this season. If we are to remain in the Europa then we should be playing the second team and players needing games, especially if we have a EPL game that weekend. Keep the experienced lads for the league run-in. I would go with this line-up tomorrow (not a prediction):

________DDG
Rafa_Small_Evans_Evra
_Clever_Jones_Giggs
Toni__Hernandez__Nani

If we play are strongest team against Bilbao tomorrow, win or lose I will be sick if we do not beat Wolves. The EPL has to be the priority and I am sure the manager will agree. Although I suspect the team will include Rooney & Young tomorrow.

Would just like to say our current academy crop are looking potentially better than the last crop(Fryers, Pogba, Tunnicliffe, Morrison, Brady, Cole, Lingard and Will Keane). The new kids i feel could be great are Blackett, Januzaj, Barmby, Daehli, Rothwell and Van Velzen all look good prospects the first four especially. Which leads me to my point since the class of 92 we've had Brown O'Shea and Fletcher make it at the club, more recently we've got Evans Cleverley and Welbeck but thats in the last year or so. So whats changed to make an Academy which has produced three first teamers in over 15 years suddenly churn out three with another 12/13 looking possible in the next few years? Even if half of the youngster i've mentioned make it then it's still one hell of an achievement.
