Modern day footballers ?? Is it to much cash or what ?
Joey Barton - no comment
Carlos tevez - did anybody see his banner rip fergie
He's class act and I'm sure great odds on what's his next club
Super Mario - doesn't go with team instead he went with brother and pal
All mentioned played for city at one time ! Their are few genuine guys at city , komp any , Harte , silva but we don't need to panic they deserved title as result of our own mistakes and I have no doubt that was huge learning curve for all concerned and who ever comes in will add to squad and we will be back !
How Tevez was left to behave like that shows serious trouble in camp , total lack of respect , class etc
I would like to thank sir Alex for all years of joy and many more to come :)

The usual method of dealing with these disappointments is to try and get good news out. If the good news is Scholes and Giggs then that is pretty weak

I guess it still proves that even when they win the league they still can't stop think of SAF.

SAF has announced that we have giggs and scholes for another year . a big boost for us.
Suppose we get hazard or kagawa or modric or sneijder or gaitan and martinez........ that would mean we have carrick, scholes, giggs, young, cleverly, valencia, nani,a defensive midfielder and an attacking one. that makes eight or maybe nine. a big and strong team on pitch and equally strong bench(remember the 99 ucl final when we had a very strong midfield despite having scholes and keane suspended) i can see a very strong team ahead.
defensively we have jones, smalling, vidic, ferdinand, evans, evra,(i dont want rafael the guy has been simply useless he cannot mark properly which we saw in the 4-4 draw at everton and the 8/9 ucl quaterfinal against munich (which we could have gone to possibly win the ucl) where his indisciplne costed us the advancement.we need a rb , cb and lb that could possibly mean baines.debuchy and maybe hummels(because ferdinand is ageing and jones, smalling need atleat 2 years to become top quality)we need someone to partner vidic in centre and if any of them is injured we will have evans. patrice evra is ageing too so we need someone who can take his place ...... baines is good and cheap and so is debuchy(ever since the retirment of neville we struggled at the rb position)
in the attack rooney welbeck and hernandez are present , i think rooney will have a huge responsibilty but we can expect hernandez and welbeck to help him . hernandez will be back strongly next year but may be we might need another quality striker to make a spearhead assault on premier league and europe

so summing up
CAM x 2-hazard(he can also play as cam as well as winger)/modric/sneijder/ kagawa/gaitan/gylfi
CDM-martinez/yann m'vila(since arsenal has palyed down their reports to sign him)/javi garcia
rb-debuchy/clyne(maybe not bcoz he is too young)
lb-baines
cb- hummels/pique/Mapou Yanga-M'Biwa(he stated his desire to play for manu)
fw-Robert Lewandowski/RVP(slight hope but seems impossibile)
GOING OUT
berbatov
owen
park
anderson
pogba
rafael(SAF plz send this indisciplined guy out)

Great news and i have been proved wrong. I have been saying that we wouldn't be buying a world class midfielder and today we have signed one. I think his name is Paul Scholes and Fergie will tell us that it is the same as a new signing. Get your boots ready Robbo you are next. I AM KLOOT

So, I'm going to conform and say who I would like to be brought in over the coming months, not who I think are likely, because I have no idea.

First up, as I've been saying all year, Joe Allen. He offers us something a little different to Cleverley. He's fast, intelligent and has a bit of steel.

A top young talent, my choice would be Lucas Moura. Unlike Neymar, he plays as an AM, is big, strong, fast, tricky. Everything we need for the money we'd be paying.

A left back. Baines or Cissoko whould be my choice. Both offer different things but are good in there own ways.

Finally, get Pogba signed up. He's going to be an incredible player, I just hope it's at United.

Our strongest team would look something like this:

________De Gea
Rafael_Evans_Vidic_Baines
______Pogba_Allen
__Nani_Cleverley_Lucas
_______Rooney

The team having an average age of 24. Vidic would eventually leave and Smalling would partner Evans. If we actually got these players, we could have another classic team in a few years, especially with the young players coming through, like Brady, Keane, Tunnicliffe, Johnstone, Daehli, etc. Well, feel free to criticise, I hope for a decent discussion on the matter.

I think this could be a likely lineup for next season:

_DDG_
Rafa_Small_Vida_Evra
Cleverley_Strootman
ToniV_Kagawa_Gaitan
Rooney

Strootman, Kagawa and Gaitan (if they were sold for the reported prices: £15m?,£10m? and Money plus players, respectively. Correct me if i am wrong.) could be under £50m spent whilst bringing quality in needed areas.

I think a left-back is a dead cert also, just not sure who.

Still sceptical on Hazard (Great player), but don't see why we should pay ransoms for players that are unproven in our league, who are gonna jump ship to Madrid/Barca within 4 seasons and has major issues with keeping his mouth shut and i do also believe an attitude problem is reported?

gonna stick to the positive.

A system away and a couple of players from doing the business again thats what I believe. broken record but last preseason really was an insight. taking away any of the glazer issues; to hold it together this season was impressive.

Even just a cleverly alike or better and a settled back four would improve it and whatever signings on that and the blooding in of jones and de gea and a further year under the belt for hernandez and smalling the we should do much much better.

id like to believe we did the best with what we had injury wise. no partnerships on the field were settled. maybe rooney and welbeck who its great has come through
but lets not go through this again.

special credit to Carrick , De gea and Evans who stepped up

good luck Berbatov thanks Scholsey

congrats to city. thats all im saying-.- two goals in five mins you did an us on us. you owe me a new radio.

JOE HART

Dani Alves Vidic Kompany Bale

Martinez

Ribery Iniesta Robben

Messi Ronaldo {Ed004's Note - I don't rate Robben and Ribery. So that defence and Martinez Schweinsteiger Iniesta in midfield and a front 3 of Messi (rw) Rooney/Cavani/RVP (st) Ronaldo (lw)}

my ideal team next season

DDG
Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra
toni, martinez, kagawa, young
rooney, lewandowski

I think evra may have another year left, i still dont rate him though. But SAF obviously does otherwise he wouldnt be vice captain.

I dont think Dortmund would be too inclined to sell us 2 of their best players but i can hope.

I think one of the big things next year will be continuity at the back, if we can have a settled back four and golakeeper then the rest of the team will swiftly follow. I think only squad players are needed at the back, our first team selection are going to be stuck with i think (even though many want Evra to leave). A defence of:

______________DDG
Rafa__Small/Ferd___Vidic__Evra

They will be the bed rock of the title campaign next year. It just depends how SAF wants to play it in front. I expect we will utilise three formations next year depending on the game. 4-4-2 / 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 (the 4-3-3 will double up as a 4-5-1 without the ball). The main formation will probably be a more defined 4-2-3-1 i expect with Kagawa as the proper attacking midfielder instead of Rooney.

In quite a few matches i'd like to see that Anderson/Cleverly partnership rekindled. They were very good at the start, and you may say that opposition had many shots on goal that was because we played Evans and Jones at the back as well as having the nervous DDG. They got the ball through midfield very quickly, remember how Cleverly transformed the Charity Shield match. In big games i wouldn't be oversed at seeing this as our midfield (rather have Martinez than Carrick):

_______Carrick
Cleverly______Modric

That would not be half bad. But normally I see us having Carrick and Modric or Cleverly as the main partnership. Carrick is going to be the main stay in the midfield for a good few years.

Up top Kagawa is going to replace Berbatov. With playing Rooney up top we don't need more strikers as Welbeck and Hernandez will need games as it is. Welbeck can get games at wide left, so i suppose that could be a reason why SAF may choose not to sign a left winger. If it was me the only two wingers i'd go for are Bale or Hazard. None others that are possibly available will improve out ream that much (i.e. Gaitan). Having said that i wouldn't say no to Jamie Rodriguez. If Bale is available, we will go for him, for sure. We have bid for him in the past.

Ideally this is what we are looking at:

Valencia___Kagawa___Bale
__________Rooney

But its more likely that Nani or Young will be occupying that left hand side next year. Young has done really very well and i think he will go from strength to strength. He has the desire to win his first EPL crown.

So overall, this is the most realistic side that we will see next year:

_____________DDG
Rafael__Smalling__Vidic__Evra
_______Modric___Carrick
Valencia____Kagawa____Nani
___________Rooney

With Young, Scholes, Giggs, Cleverly, Anderson, Park etc offering us other options. For Clyne, Modric and Kagawa i think we'd be looking at a spend of £40 million. That would leave us options of signing others, but i think SAF is genuinly largely happy with the squad and will just make tweaks here and there.

First time poster, reading all these recent posts makes me laugh, yes we all hate losing especially to that lot, but just look at it,we all think we have had a poor season Europe and no cups, but without a settled back four several new players and injuries City who everyone says have played like Gods only beat us on goal difference.
Sure the team needs trimming and adding to just like before, how many times have questioned SAF and here comes a trophy or title.
Rooney going really,I doubt it but if he did we only move on,like we did when Eric retired, when Hughes etc left,RVN left, becks left, stam left,we did not stop winning.
BELIEVE!!

Sure we need some big signings but how much did Vidic cost 7million,how much did Veron cost we need the right players and characters not Tevez types

I think I saw on sky sport text that Fergie said the only over age player that he will allow to play at the Olympics is Giggsy?
If so that makes me think that he will be retireing and Scholes staying on.
It just doesnlt make sense otherwise for him to single one of the older players out.

If it is true then I weill be happy as he just isn't what he used to be and it kills me seeing negative (although justified) posts about a loyal die hard legend

Now the dust has settled I'd like to say as crazy as it sounds yesterday made me realise how good we actualy are, I was so proud last night about United, when you look back on the season a lot of people (including myself) were saying we were miles behind city, and that some serious investment was needed. But If you look back properly you realise the problems we have had are Injuries and Inexperience. At one point we had 13 players out injured, would any other team in the world have done as good as us with those sort of problems? I don't think so, You seen how City struggled for a few games without Kompany, we have had to do the whole season without Vidic. Again they struggled without Yaya Toure for a month, We went half a season without Scholes, Anderson, Fletcher and Cleverley. I'm not saying City don't deserve it, I'm just saying we can all be proud of the achievements of this club considering the problems we have had to conquer. Defensive lapses cost us in games, I know for a fact if Vidic had played all season, we would be champions now, next season we will see a much more hungrier United, De Gea will be more confident, Vidic will be back and Smalling, Jones, Welbeck and Cleverley will all have another year under their belt, hopefully Fletcher will be back aswell. So United fans, let's keep our chins up and keep the red flag flying high! Hopefully we will strengthen in the summer, Modric and Kagawa for me would be amazing and next season we will be great again.
A big thankyou and well done to the editors on the site for doing a great job all season, and good luck for the transfer window.
Love United.

What a finish! Gutted!
No complaints though - the winners are the team who played best through-out the 38 league games. This season it was City.
Saf nearly did it, and it arguably would have been his greatest accomplishment if we had won.
Farewell to Rudd - what a finisher! probably left before time like Stam and others.
The Future: what does it hold? We are waiting for 3 summers now for both the youth to come through and world-class players to sign. We're still waiting, will we be waiting come September.
Why are the youth leaving? This is a very serious question.
There is also serious questions to be asked of SAF's choice of players and formations this season. He still believes in 442 when it is not working, especially in europe.
Carrick is good, but not good enough. Scholes is good, but too old.
Park is not good anymore.
Giggs - how did Pogba not get games ahead of Giggs? Giggs was very bad this season, all the followers of the youths are raving about Paul for years now, why didn't SAF pick him ahead of Giggs, WHY? It's like SAF promised Giggs so many games in return for signing on for another season. (on another note, if I was Giggs and reviewed my season honestly, I would be retiring now).
I still feel SAF will stay another year, but would not be surprised if he retired now. He should and the Glazers should appoint someone with European experience, with and english assistant - (Wilkins anyone?)
and give them a lot of money to buy a new generation of players.
We need to move with the times people, SAF's vitality is waning, unfortunately, and if you don't move with the times, you get left behind.
And please don't anyone reply saying SAF is this and he is that, and all he has done for us, etc, etc. We all know what he has done for us, we all think he is the greatest, but time waits for no man!

J Bones.

I know it is not possible and we are likely only buying 2-3 players this window but here are my moves
RB-Clyne (Fabio doesn't cut it)
CB-Subotic
LB-Boilesen
DM-martinez/M'villa (possibly both as Martinez would be a Yaya Toure and M'villa as a xabi alsonso)
LM-Hazard
RM-Gaitian
CM-Eirkson/Gotze
Striker-Luke de Jong

That 9 players but all have been linked (from what i know) and are quality
then reserves would be

Looking at our previous buys it's obvious what kind of price bracket we spend on players.

Evra, Vidic, Smith, Tosic, Bebe, Chicharito all round 5.5/8m all young and were playing well for their club at the time. (Bought to be squad players)

Obetan, Diouf 3m gambles (cheap options with ability but have they got the BIG CLUB mentality)

Veron, Rio, Rooney, Berbatov 26/32m the star buy.

Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson, Nani, Valencia, Jones, Young, DeGea all between 16/21m seem to be where we do most of our first team player deals.

4 players will arrive
Kagawa 7m will replace Berbatov (assists & goals)
Clyne 3m will back up Rafael and Evra.
Javi Martinez or Modric ? Star buy ? 32m CM position ?
Gaitan 20m plus Macheda 3m & Fabio on loan.

I think 3 of the above are in the bag. The star buy will be awkward.

Although it pains me to say this we did not deserve to win the league this year. This may be hard to hear for some fans but a win yesterday would have been a steri-strip over the bandage that covers the wallpaper that covers the cracks that exist in the United midfield.
Since the departure of Keano we have nobody to boss the midfield. The returning Scholes did all he could to get our challenge back on the rails but ultimately he was found out in the game that mattered most v City. The United midfield of Giggs, Park, Carrick and Scholes were totally outclassed that day. This is not the first time this exact midfield got opened up, remember Barcelona. Against lesser teams you will get away with it. I would go so far as to say last year we got away with it and as a result nothing changed in CM.

There is and will continue to be speculation as to who we are going to sign. WE are being linked to Hazard (City will prob gazump us in his case), Kagawa (more likely signing), Modric, Gaitan, Munain all excellent players but who is going to win the ball for them. None of them are ball winners and no matter what formation SAF plays next season unless he has a player in the mold of Tiote/Parker/Lucas (who Liverpool missed so badly this year) that can be our ball winning midfield general we will continue to struggle. Admittedly players of that style and caliber are not plentiful or available too often. Martinez seems to be the stand out player of this type who we may be able to afford. The Glazers need to loosen the purse strings and take about 100M less out this year and invest it in players.

The other main area of concern should be LB as Evra has been successfully targeted by a number of teams this year and found wanting. Whether this is due to a complacency borne of lack of competition or just a decline due to age I don't know but it needs to be addressed.

THis is my hopeful starting XII next year

De Gea
Jones, Vidic, Smalling, Izziagure
Valencia, Martinez, Cleverly, Kagawa
Rooney, Lorente

Here's hoping {Ed004's Note - Kagawa a lm... I don't think it would suit him}

First off, Congratulations to City, whether people agree or not with the way they have achieved there success, they still had to do a job! For them, the real challenge begins as of today because they have a massive target on their heads now being champions, people say the hardest title is the first, I would suggest retaining the title is harder!

As for us, I think Man City could be one of the best things to happen to us!

Manchester United have always risen to challenges, Blackburn, Arsenal, Chelsea and now arguebly the biggest one yet, City!

The more I think about transfer targets and next season the more exited I am for it to begin, a new challenge for us, going head to head with City, knocking clubs of their perch, this is why we all support United!

I'm gutted that we lost the title to City but that's what will make it sweeter when we knock them off next season :)

I think next season could be one of our best ever, seeing the players faces and seeing SAF face yesterday tells me that they're ready to step up to the challenge, I imagine the preparation for this challenge began at 9am this morning with the gaffer!

Also, well done to everyone who congratulated City on here, alot of banter flys around but it's important to have a bit of class when losing, as hard as it is to accept.

Well, Mr. Ruud Van Nistelrooy..what a career he's had. extremely under-rated when people talk about the best forwards of all time, terrific player.

Shame he's retired but he knows he can't carry on at the highest level, shame the same can't be said about a few other players.

I'm not a believer of this triple swoop thing, but it would cover quite a few of the positions in need of work and would replace players going or going in a few years
kagawa would be the replacement for park in terms of bringing in money from the east.
Hummels long term replacement for ferdinand, if he is bought i would have to assume that smalling is going to right back and jones to a holding midfield
lewandowski would replace berbatov, but would he come, he plays every week at bvb, if he cones he's competing with two young strikers and he won't start ahead of rooney
what team would we play aswell
would it be loads of people on here think we have to go to a 4231 with Rooney as the main striker, bit he would have to be at the centre of the 3
personally I think we will carry on playing 442 for as long as fergie stays
we would need two midfielders if that were the case, a holding one, Martinez would be everyones favourite but javi Garcia and m'Vila could do as good a job and we would need a creative midfield, personally I think we would need someone with premier league experience, Modric would be my favourite, he's world class and plays in a 4411 at spurs so he can play in a 442. Hazard would be a great signing, but him modric and Martinez is near imposible in one summer, unless we sold nani young berbatov and Anderson and somehow bought in 50 mill from them. A midfield of Valencia Martinez Modric Hazard
with strikers of. Rooney hernandez
would be a dream team but spending would be near 100m and having to bring in 50 mill from sales and loans would be hard. No chance. That's like the person who posted about 100 times last summer that we'd bring in sneijder sanchez and de gea

Well what can be said about yesterday? I'm spent the last half an hour sitting on a bar stool hunched in a fetal position rocking back and forth, but I have to say that it's what football is all about. A league title literally down to the last minute. Well done to City.

This summer it's absolutely crucial that we sort out midfield, if some major signings aren't brought in then Fergie can't carry on the charade any longer. It's plainly obvious to everyone that our midfield isn't good enough to compete at the top level. Scholes and Giggs have given enough, Cleverly is a good prospect but not the solution, Anderson isn't and never will be good enough, Fletcher will struggle to come back, and Pogba is off. Kagawa will give us some creativity but what we need more than anything else is a no nonsense, tough tackling enforcer who can dominate a midfield.

This summer will tell us nothing new about the Glazers but it will tell us about Fergie. He knows the team isn't good enough, that's why he bottled it in Eastlands, because he knew we aren't good enough to go toe-to-toe with City. If he doesn't bring in players that allow him to challenge next year then we will see if he condemns the Glazers and their cheaply cheaply business plan, or if he's in their pocket like Gill.

Hello Eds,

Just a quick question; is the summer transfer market now officially open?

Also Thank you for the time and effort you put in and lets hope for a busy exciting summer.

Congrads to City....deserved it over the 38 games.

Anyone else impressed by James MacLean yesterday. Keen to avoid MOTD fever, however his work ethic was good and he looks to have the physique to do well in the EPL. Doubt Sunderland would stand in his way if a reasonable offer was made? Its common knowledge we are looking for left footed wingers. Maybe 10-12 million?

I know this has been discussed before but no one really came to solid conclusion as to what the team formation will be.
Yesterday imo could be the start of us resorting to a 4-5-1/ 4-3-3 system. I believe that is the system we will now begin to play. I believe from the rumours of who we are looking at and some of the players we have tried to sign (apparently) that could be the formation we will be playing next season. I can't see Kagawa playing in a two man midfield and it looks like we are looking at left footed left wingers (Gaitan)
Now I believe we will need two attacking full backs for this formation but both should be able to get back and defend so I believe we need to sign a replacement for Evra and Rafael is brilliant going forward.
Now onto the midfield. I feel if we are playing 3 in midfield. We should have one holding player, I am going to ignore Fergies comments today as you never know what he is going to do. Now with a holding player, preferably one who is good on the ball like Martinez, I think we would need to sign two hard working creatives CAM's so that if the opposition is attacking atleast one of them will get back.
Now onto attack. Having an attacking left back in the team I am not sure whether I would prefer to see a right footed winger with flair and creativity similar to Nani or a hard working direct winger similar to Valencia but left footed. I don't know which one would be more suited to the lw.
Therefore by the looks of it we may need up to 5 signings this summer, however I could see Nani getting the LW spot and Carrick and Cleverley get the DM and CAM spot, so realistically I feel we will sign two players this summer

What is it with people comparing Kagawa to Park? Complete different players. Just because Kagawa is also asian he becomes Parks replacement. Really!?

Kagawa will be a brilliant addition to the squad, perhaps resulting in a formation change? Time will tell.

Hopefully buy some new players in the summer to compete.

Its every year now we are missing lots of players which has and WILL cost us in the future.

Ed, if we do sign Kagawa this will probably mean that we will play Rooney up top on his own. Hernandez will be on the bench and to get plenty of games then Welbeck might play on the left, am i right? So with the need to give players like Welbeck etc games, would i be right in saying that a new striker and probably a winger might be out of the question for now? We will probably stick with Park for a season just as a utility player. I suppose that will mean that a central midfielder could be splashed out on, like Modric? With the defence being sured up as well?

Its so hard to predict how things will go!

RedDevil19 {Ed004's Note - I think if we are to be playing one up top there will be a minimum of two central players bought. If we are only going to be playing one up top just against the big teams then I think a striker may be bought...}

What a crazy end to the season. I never gave us a chance of winning the league before the five minutes injury-time was announced at City. However when Dzeko scored his soft goal I knew they would get a third moments later. The Everton draw was a massive disappointment for us and really swung the league into City's favour, not just because of the goal difference, but mentally too. After the Everton game it was all in City's hands from then onwards.

Well done to City, they had to win it eventually with their unlimited resources, but hoped we could keep them at bay for a couple more seasons. We have been here before, back in 2004 to Chelsea when we were going through a transition then too. I only hope we can come back better like we did then, but we will not have Ronaldo this time round. We will need to spend well and buy the right players. Not necessarily expensive players, but players who are the right fit.

We had interest in Kagawa in the past and we know Kagawa wants to join United. What we do not know is if we have made Kagawa an offer recently via his agent. If we had some sort of clarification that we were talking to Kagawa's agent, then I would have no doubt that he would sign, but we just do not know and will not know until it's already widely reported amongst the press. I think he would be a very good signing and giving his age and low price-tag it only makes the move more likely.

Signing Kagawa would be a great start and with him being so cheap would mean we would have more cash for other areas, perhaps left wing? We need to bolster the fullback positions and retain Pogba, although Pogba looks destined for pastures new thanks to his persistent Juventus supporting agent. It seems the manager wants a left footed, left winger so perhaps Gaitan is more likely than most giving the fact he wants to join and we have made contact with Benfica.

With Fabio looking like joining Benfica on loan it looks quite likely Gaitan could move to the club eventually. Perhaps give them Anderson as a makeweight. With Ferdinand looking like retiring over the next season and with his injury concerns I would go all out for Vertonghen. He will probably end up in North London like many believe, but he isn't there yet. He can play as a CB, LB & DM so could be very useful. I think he will sign for Arsenal.

I think Willems, Clyne, Gaitan & Kagawa could be a good summer with Rooney moving to striker and us keeping Pogba. But lets wait and see. Would prefer Hazard to Gaitan, but City would keep trumping us until he chooses them. Seems Hazard will join City unless Barcelona or RM come in for him. I think I would look at Rodriguez ahead of Gaitan too, but it is down to the manager and he will do what he feels is best.

The way I see it SAF will be really pissed off losing the title on goal diff. how many times have we heard him say we were wasteful in front of goal. We really miss that Van Nistelroy type player up front. Rooney cannot carry us forever. I believe RVP is sick of being top class with nothing to show at seasons end and would come to utd. forget him going to city they have enough strikers and we could offer him a definite start each week. Failing that a cheeky bid for cisse may be on the cards.I dont think we will go for any strikers from Spain as the prem is to physical.

A few good options have popped up now that the major leagues have finished. Firstly there are the two or three at Dortmund, personally i can see Lewandowski and Kagawa coming in but not Hummels. Benatia is a good target. Athletic Bilbao players could be an option, maybe they have peaked? Also there are a couple of players at Villareal that will interest us no doubt, Rossi and Bruno will be of interest - they would be available at a knock down price.

If Chelsea win on saturday which i hope they do, we could have a shout at getting Bale and/or Modric which would be great. Hazard has confirmed he is leaving Lille. There are so many options available in the summer, we could comprise so many lists, none will be right, but we can have a very good summer i'm sure. Also van Persie might choose to call time on his Arsenal career with Higuain doing the same at Madrd.

Clyne, Modric, Bale, Kagawa and Lewandowski wouldn't be bad now would it? Not that i'm saying all that would happen, but the final league tables do give us some options with what happened.

Let me begin by saying that I agree with Ngiak that the script was pre-written to make it as exciting as possible...

On another note, Im proud of the team considering we were stripped to the bare bones for most of the season by injuries, esp in Midfield (Fletcher Cleverley Ando) and obviously a huge loss in Vidic...anyway, think about this....if ANY ONE of our draws would be wins, or our loss be a draw, we would have won the league. we ran them really close...I acknowledge SAF's great work...I dont think any other manager wud have pushed till the final day the way he did...and with such a squad!

Even the best teams in the world have room for improvement n so do we...but I dont see the need for a radical change, just minor tweaks in our approach & maybe get players who are more direct n be more ruthless next season in finishing teams off...

Hi Guys.

Well here it is my end of season review. We almost nicked it didn't we, but it wasn't in our hands and we got ourselves in to that position so you have to expect the worse to happen and it did. Tough we move on.

I am going down to Old Trafford this morning as I was working over the weekend, to renew my season ticket. I know I can do it online, but I want to speak to a rep about trying to get a family stand seat for me and my daughter next season. Rainfish or whatever he calls himself these days will have a right pop at me, because I would imagine he is on fire with the Glazers argument this morning. But he knows me, I can't walk away from a club that has brought me and my family so much pleasure of the years. I owe them patience and respect. Call me a Glazer puppet, but I was an Edwards and Cubic Expression one before they came along.

Can't see a lot of activity over the summer with Vidic coming back etc. I'm not making excuses but we had injuries aplenty this year so to get as far as we did was astonishing. Maybe a few 10-15 millioners but no marquee type signing. Lets be honest we are not in that ball park anymore, but we still have a lot more at our disposal than most clubs. And I know in order for a club to beat us to the title since 2004, the club that has won it as had to be bankrolled by a sugar daddy

Have a great closed season everybody, and our rivals who come on here.

If its any consolation I love Manchester United more today than I did yesterday

regards

In my opinion, its time for a shake up in the behind the scenes a little. At times our tactics have looked dated this season (eg 4-5-1 whenever 4-3-3 seems to be the way forward)
Mike Phelan has been a wonderful servant to this club but i feel we need someone more continental in this position to help Fergie

Any Opinions?

Come on you Mancs - suck it up a bit will ya. You guys love rubbing salt in our wounds as much as we love doing it to you guys. No harm in it - take it on the chin and quit whining. Those who whinge back sound and look as stupid as those childish posters.

It is obvious Liverpool have very little to cheer about this season, so we have to find false joy in something to take our minds of the disastrous season we have had.

I respect your team for the history, success and rivalry (in games, not the league as a whole - I know we're no contest atm), but I am glad to see you not add to your trophy haul. I wish it was to a team that didn't have to buy their way to the top, but that won't happen until the Gunners can actually play a consistent season of football.

We have won the league cup because we tried to win it and just missed out on the other trophy we knew we had a chance of winning - so in that respect we did have some success. We didn't try to win the league, so to compare your league result with ours is irrelevant. We aimed for top four, so have a go at us for that - not that we were so far behind first place. First place was never in our grasp, and as it turned out, neither was 7th, let alone 4th.

You bombed out in the two trophys you wanted - League and CL - so chew on that.
