Hi all, thanks Ed's for the various replies to all the questions you face, your insights are always appreciated
There have been many posts claiming that DM likes to have a very detailed analysis of all his transfer targets, can anybody give any insights as to what the criteria is for DM's analysis apart from the obvious.
is it that he looks into personal history off the field etc as much as he looks at on field capabilities?
In my opinion it is very prudent to follow this due dillegance, this is what leads me to believe that Fellaini will become a success in due course. I don't think anybody would dispute that we paid over the odds but that has been a fact of life at OT for as long as I can remember but DM knows this player inside out so he knows what he is getting, so I would say that while his performances have not been good to date that there is still a lot more to come and that we should be more patient with him.
I felt the 7 min cameo v sociedad was his best performance in a utd shirt because he played further up the field got on the ball and brought runners in to play.
Lets not be too hasty to judge a guy who has yet to adjust to being part of the OT family as with DM the end of the seson is best time to judge his contribution. if we were as hasty with our judgements of slow starters such as Ince, Ronaldo, pallister, bruce, etc they would never have been part of the clubs most succesful period.
And Yes for every slow starter that has grown into the role, people can throw a slow starter that never got going at me such as, birtles, davenport brazil, veron, poporsky kleberson, but all i'm saying is that it is incumbant of us all to give the guy a fair chance to grow into his position and to the club in general.

Great post mate! Totally agree with everything, moving from Everton to Manchester United is probably like a new world for Fellaini, he was somewhere he was loved, the top dog and now he's come here and he's not a star and he has better players around him, in time he will improve! If we were hasty with players, would Evra, Vidic, Rafael, Ronaldo be the players they are today? Not saying fellaini will become a world star but we should get behind him and give him our support to be the best player he can be.

There a differing views on DM's alleged training regime but maybe every one is right. Clearly, the team look fitter and sharper and this may be down to his methods. But, perhaps some players do need careful managing - SAF has referenced that before. I was told by a good source that RVP is unhappy that he is being over trained and now has some niggles.

Good source. you mean the papers and the Netherlands coach.

I would be amazed if that was the only thing he was unhappy about.

Agree0 Disagree0

He seemed happy about the last goal he scored.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just how happy are u Marcellus! I see now this week mour ishaving a pop at the fans .

JK

No, someone close to the sessions. Allegedly RVP tweaked something and stormed off saying 'I told you this would happen'.

There seems to be a lack of knowledge when it comes to fitness training at the club.

You see, fitness training is not about a bunch of high earners who come in and jog around. Nor is it, like some people seem to believe is the case with Moyes, making them sprint until they puke or get injured.

There is, in fact, a team of medical personnel working in tandem with some of the best fitness trainers and nutritionists in the world, creating not only a physical profile of every player including the body's limitations and the exercises and intensity he can handle, but also a nutrition program for maximum gains.

Fact is, a professional knows more than an athlete when it comes to biology and anatomy, and if the medical personnel think that the fitness regimen Van Persie is on is what is best for him, it probably is. Moyes is not a sadist, and doesn't want to hurt his own players. And if Van Persie, or anyone else in the, matter, doesn't like the fitness regimen, well he either sucks it up or it's time to say farewell. Ferguson has said plenty of times the manager is the main man at the club, and this is not going to change with any player

Good post Mick.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Mick, but robin seems happy, look at the passion he displayed when he scored against arsenal I do think he loves the club. He is a Manchester United man now and I don't believe any rift with moyes. Because if there was he wouldn't be playing imo!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see it caolan. It was obvious RVP wasn't really happy but it didn't look like he had any problems with players on the field or with Moyes.

It's obvious he was frustrated in himself, and as soon as he has started finding his feet his body language and his attitude showed. hell, he nearly had a boner when running off to celebrate with Rooney

Agree0 Disagree0

AJH, good post and kind of my point. No doubt the younger players will benefit from being pushed harder, but players like Ferdinand, Vidic, RvP & Carrick need to be managed properly or they will suffer and if they suffer, we suffer as they are not playing.

ed, is there any truth that Iniesta is unhappy at Barcelona due to the lose of physio Emilli Ricart and the misgivings of the development since Pep Guardiola left. And apparently Moyes has been in contact with Iniesta? {Ed002's Note - No idea if he is unhappy or not. Sounds ridiculous to me.}

@ the bang

Its internationals week and such stories are expected. They just need to fill up the pages as there is not much to write about. Hence the Iniesta, Alonso, Reus, Gundogan rumors.

Can you imagine that, the great Iniesta getting a call from Moysie, bet he's already on the plane and can't wait to join your already impressive midfield. Wow.

@ red Faith
Its international week so all the made up stories from desperate journalists show up this week.
Maybe that's why Marcellus has crawled out from under whatever rock he has been hiding under since Chelskis latest fiacsco. You get more sense from the Daily sport than you get from him!
Still I suppose with Chelski being a whole point ahaed of us at this stage gives him bragging rights. It must be the super midfield they have down there. Rom is getting some return on his investments. 1 point more than clev and Jones at this stage.

1 - o. Jog on son.

Agree0 Disagree0

Go easy on marcellus, the last thing he needs is his own fans again feeling the need to come on here and save him from another joke of a post lol, bless his little cottons :-)

Iniesta is having contract talks. Hence the silly stories reaching the media, helped along by Iniesta's representatives of course. Iniesta will sign a new deal with Barcelona.

Its a sad day for Cricket fans, we won't see him bat again.

Thanks for the memories Sachin, we will never forget you.

These stories circulating about the training methods used at the club is a bunch of bull IMO. RVP has always had problems with injuries. He had one good injury free season at Arsenal in his whole time there.

Apart from Carrick, everyone looks super fit and sharp. Rooney is looking the fittest I have ever seen him, and there seems to be a spring in the step of the players' in general.

I read that Moyes' training methods are geared towards longevity: the optimum level of player fitness reaches its peak by the end of February.

I think we are already seeing signs of how better fitness levels are not benefitting the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That should read: "are 'now' benefitting the team".
