Probably an unpopular view, but I will gladly sell de Gea and bring in Romero and Dean Henderson. Focus on building a good defence. Move Jones, Rojo, smalling on, bring in Tuanzebe, some from u23 and sign a top class defender to partner Lindelof. If we have a good defence, the keeper won't be exposed as much.

I can see some sense in that.

I'd keep smalling for now, him and tuanzebe backup until tuanzebe is ready to be no 1 CB. I think everyone wants to see a good group of young players brought through along with top quality signings. But this will require a lot of patience from the fans as it's a going to be quite the rebuild.

Why would a club buy de gea for a fee if they can get him next summer once he is out of contract?

I would not be against giving romero a go as no1 when de gea leaves if we can't get a top quality replacement like oblak.

He hasn't let anyone down when he's played and would be able to deal with the pressure.

Well 2 maybe 3 clubs maybe looking for a keeper this summer so could be tempted if the price is right. PSG will need to replace Buffon. Courtouis has flopped at Madrid. Juventus could be tempted as most of the keepers there aren't great.

Great article as always ed1. You seem to love PSG a lot.
Also is it because I am naive and ignorant or did people see the funny side to the Milan players' antics and even the Burnley booking incidence.

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, and yes PSG are amongst my favourites, up there with Neymar as reasons I turn the TV over! I have never liked PSG as they have a huge problem element amongst their fans. Also I dislike the idea of creating a team because Paris didn't have one in the top flight. Franchising in essence.

As for the Milan and Burnley things, people have no sense of humour, they are always looking to be offended. If it was me whose shirt had been held up I would take it as a sign of respect that what I said matters so much to them they are making a big deal out of it! And Barnes kissing Bennett made me laugh when I watched it live, still can't believe the ref booked him for it. So many times in those situation you see someone throw a head in to motion a butt but he showed laudable restraint if you ask me. If Bennett is such a muppet that he can't look at it and laugh about it, then he needs to grow up. It will be a moment he can talk about to the kids and grandkids when he will have little else in his career of real worth to mention.}

I guess the players are thinking to themselves " I won't win anything here at Utd, I better move on to win trophies" TBH if that's their thinking then off you go cause 1 player does not win games nor does 2 or 3? Yes they can have a great impact and dictate the play when they are bothered to turn up. It won't be the wordt thing to get rid of the negative footballers and replace with more fluid and guile. OLE needs to do some conditioning work with the players also! Its common for players to get tired after 70 mins but not when its taken you 30 mins to get out of 1st gear imo.

Who knows if we sign some quick players who can actually beat 1 or 2 then open up pockets of space? We might just get some good out of Sanchez.

Just an opinion i feel 5 years is a long time waiting to find some players and a manager capable of steering the ship and standing up to EW and Co whilst not being a yes man.

Agree about conditioning work.
Next season, the coaching staff's need to emphazie more on the fitness of the players.
