Sorry cannot reply to all the comments regarding my earlier post as on my phone now. Firstly i am the person who supports united from liverpool. Yes i have always lived here too. I have supported united since i first discovered my passion 4 football. Robson was my idol think i was 7 back then. I have been a massive united fan ever since. Played alot of football as a youngster and was always the one proudly in my united shirt. I have had my season ticket now 4 the last 9 years, manchester united is my passion and my life. It dont matter where i am from my love 4 this club is more important. Over the years i have met some more fans from liverpool too. Please dont question my passion or loyalty to our club as u wont get much bigger. I follow the boys all over europe season after season. Thanks jenny {Ed007's Note - Not 100% sure that is Jenny that has been posting recently, if not let me know and apologises Jenny}

I have always said that berbatov comes in for unfair criticism, he has played his part at united and shown his class on many occasions, However I can understand why he comes in for stick at times. What I do beleive though is he has bags of quality and could look like a world beater at Madrid and in Spanish league where his style would be ideally suited Do I want him to go? No, would I be gutted if he left? No? Do I expect him to go to Madrid? No?

Kaka on the cheap would do me fine, Real Madrid seem to be doing to him what they did to Van Der Vaart, underplayed and therefore may become undervalued and because he's underplayed he performs worse, but he's such a class act. Surely they might consider an offer in the 30 million mark. He was unplayable at Milan.

I can't believe Pirlo went on a free very recently under the radar to everyone.

Ferguson's denial of interest in Sneijder is just a method to drive down Inter's asking price and Sneijder's wage demands, especially since David Gill did hold a meeting with Inter officials. Furthermore Ferguson's latest quotes are that there is not currently any interest in Sneijder "at this moment in time for a lot of reasons"

Bottom line is Sneijder will be a Man United player at the end of the transfer window.

"Theres no way i can see casillas is better than reina ive watched casillas too many times and i am not just saying it because of who i support.i dont know whos the best keeper in the world .i have not seen or watch every leauge but how anyone can put cech in a list well i mean hes not even strong enough in his build when he comes out for crosses.hes had a good defence in front of him thats all lfc"

'lfc'

IMO you're right, Reina is a better goalkeeper than Casillas. The reason Casillas is Spain's number 1 is because he is Real Madrid's number 1. The reason he is Spain's captain is because he is Real Madrid's captain. He's almost untouchable in the national team because they've got to have some Madrid players, right?

The best keeper in the world just retired so who's the best now? I'm not sure. But what I can tell you, in all honesty, is that I expect De Gea to become a better keeper than Reina within the next 5 or 6 years.

Strange one, apparently Everton have put in a £10m bid for Charles N'Zogbia, with SAF so confident about our hunt for a new central midfielder today in the States, is it possible he has identified Arteta, Fellaini or Rodwell as the midfielder?

Maybe jumping the gun a bit, but Everton really do not have any money. What do you think Ed? Lads?

my thoughts on the strikers is as follows.

most european games or big 4 games 1 up front: rooney.

most home league games probably rooney and berbatov to break down opposition as they play more defensive.

most away games rooney and hernandez/ owen as teams tend to be more open being at home.

cup games pick from macheda, welbeck, diouf, owen.

Forget about Sneijder, nasri, mata or any other so called superstars, utd cant attract the big name players never have been able to.we can only afford young players with the potential to become stars ie ronaldo and rooney.i am afraid to say that when it comes to a choice between us , real, barca or chelsea we will lose every time.time to wake up and smell the coffee folks barca will continue to leave us for dust for many years to come

ED002 what do make of this Pastore saga now it is emerging he wont play in Seria A do you think we will raise our bid ? {Ed002's Note - I see no reason to increase the offer but I would not be surprised to see an offer from Manchester United come in now.}

Do you know how much we offered was it the £45 mil they wanted, Also why is this if they are supposedly buying Sneijder has the move took a turn?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure of the exact figure of the offer but it was certainly a large number. As for Sneijder, I think Manchester United may look to Pastore.}

Rooney- Hernandez- Berbatov - Owen - Macheda - Welbeck - Diouf -

Seeing as we've 7 recognised strikers to
keep happy do you guys think SAF decide to loan out one of Welbeck, Macheda or Diouf again?
Obviously we'd all like to see the young lads get a chance but which of the 3 do you guys feel would benefit more with a full season in the 1st team squad, as opposed to being sent to a lesser side?

I personally would love to see Macheda get a decent run in the side. He seems to have an air of maturity about him (if interviews are anything to go by) since returning from Italy, and i personally think he's the most natural finisher of the trio.

Lets all be honest, nobody knows who we are looking at or who if any we have put an interest in. Everybody on here is playing fantasy football throwing names into the hat. There is still 40 days of the transfer window to go....i'm sure we will buy a player(s) but who they are only time will tell. All I do know is that we have the best manager in the world and trust his judgement on strengthening the squad.

What a pathetic post RFT. My brother is a season ticket holder at OT (Stretford End) and he's not from Manchester. Does that make him any less a Manc, than you? What about all the Chinese, Malaysian, American fans etc..who very rarely get to see their heroes, but are still as passionate about their clubs, as we are. This is one of the worse posts i've read on any site, not just this one. You really are a person RFT and more hated on this site, than i am.

The Stone Roses, Oasis, The Smiths, New Order etc..Who gives a f*ck? This is a football site not Top Of The Pops. The greatest pop group EVER, was from Liverpool (Beatles). But like i said "Who gives a f*ck"

Just been watching the interview with micheal owen on the manutd site, such a top bloke and real pro.

All teams need players like him in their squads, i know he is not one of our more important players but he loves playing for us and he is not affraid to be on the bench. If all players were more like him there would be a lot more teams with a chance of winning the league.

His best comment was that he loves the chant Micheal owen is a red, we all know how that ends.

sorry just got bored of everyone being upset or moaning about who we are not signing.

I am starting to get sick and tired of all this sneijder talk seriously......i love going onto this site during the day whilst in work at quiet periods to check up on any transfer rumours and all i am seeing is sneijder this and sneijder that........to hell with sneijder thats wat I say hahaha......i would love to see him play for us make no mistake but all this talk is making me feel sick lol

on another note what is everyone's personal views on Cheick Tiote of newcastle? I reckon he would be a great addition to the squad and just what we are lacking....the wee man has plenty of pace, skill on the ball, tough tackler, decent shot on him and quite slick at the passing.....reckon he could fill in the void left by keano all them years ago.....would protect the back 4 nicely and therefore give the attacking midfielders more freedom to push forward....

i remember watching the newcastle and arsenal game and thought he was outstanding....young and lots of potential (quite similar player to lassana diarra, although without the baggage)

I still think we will get Samir Nasri before the window shuts, still if Arsenal decide not to sell him and are willing to let him go for free next year then i think he might end up at Real Madrid or Manchester United next season.

If Nasri doesn t happen this summer then we will go for either one of these
-Goetze
-Martinez
-Kagawa
-(Pastore)unlikely
-Gourcuff
-Mata
-Hazard

All young and will cost less then 30M....
SAF said "There is a bit of work being done on that at the moment by our scouting department."
It means the last transfer for united might be in August last week may be...

Just let u know deal for Sneijder still on but utd as said before don't want to pay £35m for him they think it is to much for him at his age they believe Inter should accept around £32m then utd will been able to cover Sneijder wages both clubs are stalling waiting for which one will give in first don't believe what Ferguson said's or people Howard Nurse on twitter he being told by club to get speculation down it will not happen straight away but before the window shut the deal will happen it makes financial sense to Inter to sell 3 reasons why 1.Sneijder wants to join
2.inter want Pastore to replace him
3. Utd need him to challenge Barcelona for Champions League.
Don't expect deal to be done quickly it is very difficult transfer i was speaking top agent yesterday he said would be as difficult as getting Kaka from real madrid clubs want the best deals possible and then change there minds up price at last moment he said also utd might need to move 2 more players on before bringing someone like that in.

Wouldn't it be nice if we just started looking at Gourcuff? Probably get him for under 30 million, has the same natural abilities as Sneijder and is also younger. People keep saying sneijder is old - he's a decade younger than giggs so how is he too old? Theres at least 6 more years left in him, thats 6 leagues and 6 champions leagues which is an enormous amount of football, whats the point in taking 2 steps back and having to be patient with younger players when we can go 2 steps forward with a quality signing straight away and keep challenging for honours every year? People need to be realistic, fletcher and carrick are not good enough to win the champions league without rooney, giggs, scholes etc doing all the creating for them. John O Shea wasnt good enough anymore so how is carrick and fletcher?

And once again everybody is crying because we don't look like signing Sneijder.

By the looks of it this place is FULL of 'fans' & I use that term loosely who think they know what's best for our club.

do you know why we're the most hated fans in the UK? it's not Jealousy it's the fact that we go through this process every year:

1) United Get Linked with player.
2) 'Fans' go crazy.
3) United say there's no link.
4) 'Fans' think they know what's best.
5) United don't sign said player or similar player.
6) Club believe in youth & current squad.
7) 'Fans' still complaining.
8) United have a successful season.
9) 'Fans' all of a sudden say they never doubted SAF.
10) Repeat Process.

Last season we had people saying how will smalling, bebe & Javier improve your first XI, 2/3 did, now we're getting the same thing but with Young, De Gea & Jones.

so, you little plastic fans (This is not aimed at everyone), sit down, shut up and trust the most successful manager ever. You may have done the quadruple on Football Manager but you still know f*** all about football

The Moon. {Ed007's Note - Moon, you had an impostor earlier on, I have noted your IP number now, but if you want to leave a tag in the e-mail field and use that when you post,(only Eds see it), I will pass it on so that it doesn't happen again. Please can anyone offer any insight into dealing with Inter Milan as a club? e.g. the reputation that Udineze are a awkward club to broker with.

I ask this due to the rampant denial factor which has engulfed the Sneijder transfer events. Is it a pre requisite when dealing with Inter to deny everything. Gill has certainly taken delegates to Milan and has certainly spoke to Inter delegates when visiting Zurich. He has never spoken publicly about his exploits so therefore has no chance to deny whereas Alex has been unusually open to the press. Almost to open to constitute the denials are genuine.

Sydney, EDS, fellow fans - Is there any precedent (spelling) for dealing with Inter Milan and does the denials appear in previous transfers with that club?

Luke_o_matic {Ed007's Note - All Italian clubs are very difficult to deal with, and the Inter owner/president Massimo Moratti is notoriously "awkward"}

We buy a shirt and proudly wear a replica shirt because we are proud of the players and the club. we get names printed on the back to show our alliegance to a particular player. the one we like more than anybody else in the team. without a jersey at a game you could be any tom, d**k or harry at any match across the world.
either your not a real fan or your embarresed to wear your clubs kit. and saying what you have said is just so unproductive

oh and yeah, were not 'putting money in the Glazer's pockets'. Nike sponser our kit so thats where that comes from so regardless of shirt sales the money still comes in.

Thank you for the response EDS. Great site BTW (despite the obvious repitition of paper talk lol)

One thing we must all agree on is as follows:

Manchester United needs a World Class, Proven Central Midfielder. Carrick is not World Class and Anderson seems to be a very decent all rounder rather than an attacking/creative Tour de force.

Hamsik, Di Rossi, Nasri, Sneijder, Bastian S are all World Class. I hope we do not fail to attract this kind of quality.

Is anyone else a bit worried by are lack of activity and interest in this transfer window? Sneijder is a quality player but old and overpriced. I'd like to see some better business with certain players leaving.

We won the league but a lot of teams were playing badly last season. The CL final was a joke. I want to win it. If other teams get better we will need to do the same.

With the improvements being made by other clubs i think we will have a battle this season. Look at Liverpool. Already signed 3 players and are being linked with numerous others. Chelsea are linked with Aguero, Neymar, Modric and look like having a strong team (especially if they manage to get Torres playing). City and Arsenal don't worry me as much but you never know if they build on last season.

I predict our worst season for years unless we do something about it now What do people think? Come on SAF

Sneijder wont be coming, alex ferguson said it himself, the video is on sky sports. I cant believe how much faith he has in carrick and fletcher, theyre just average players at best. You have to question if they would get into the barcelona/madrid/chelsea squads and the answer is no way, fletcher is a work horse and carrick hasnt done anything since russia. once again all the weight will be on rooney and chicarito because the club wont pay big money since berbatov was such a costly mistake and wont want a repeat with sneijder. We should sell carrick, anderson and fletcher and bring in kagawa nasri and m'villa, that would be a proper upgrade and sell berbatov to bring in benzema or higuain - then we can challenge barca otherwise the premier league will just become a feeder league for La Liga.

I said last week that i thought Sneijder was the player UTD would eventually sign out of the many rumoured. Looking at various media this week, especially the ESPN Soccernet clip of SAF, I have to hold my hands up and say I'm wrong.
Yesterday there was a small snippet about De Rossi not being for sale. Looking at the detail i think this could be where the main interest lies for SAF's next signing. Roma just seem to be following suit in stating the "not for sale" stock reply but it doesn't seem as strong a denial as others i.e Nasri, Sneijder and Modric. This also has not been so highlighted as a front running transfer for Utd and SAF hasn't stated that Utd's transfer business is closed for the window.
I now believe Di Rossi to be the target for SAF before the window closes. I also think now that Nasri will stay at Arsenal until he becomes a free agent and join next season (2012 window ) even if De Rossi does sign. If he doesn't i think SAF won't just buy anyone he will stick with what he has and Tom Cleverley will get a chance to prove himself. After all we still have what we had last season and more. Come on the De Rossi.

Please answer me this, if you really are in the know, what has seemingly fatally gone wrong with this transfer? Eds (Is there any positive update on this saga or do we feel its dead?)

LUKE_o_matic - never anon {Ed007's Note - I honestly do not think any deal is "dead". What actually is happening is very unclear though, what does AF saying "no real interest" mean? It is a very confusing situation}

Furthermore the money spent this year, which as I have pointed out has not addressed our main deficiency, does not paper over the fact that ferguson has a moral duty to the club and the fans who are it's life blood to accept the americams financial strategy has crippled the club. No 19 was made easier by everyone else being s**te. No 20 will not be so easy and we have no central midfield to do it.

You can forget about Europe fervid has lst the edge and no longer has the balls to enforce what the club needs in terms of players.

It's actually the beginning of the end."""
dear unnamed sir
it comes to an UTTER COMPLETE SURPRISE to ngiak that you do not have a name
after that brilliant post...
lets see
being the second best team in the world is a TOTAL FAILURE
being in the final 3 of the last 4 years is a total failure
you do realise
dearest sir
that if you substitute the 20 with 19
ITS EXACTLY THE POST THAT WAS MENTIONED MULTIPLE TIMES LAST YEAR
well
ngiak is surprised
as it was a well constructed post with regards to the eloquence and rhetoric
but absolutely without logic or substance
great entertainment for ngiak today
whoever you suppot in the EPL,
its a shame for you
cos AL other teams were second best
to a team with "NO MIDFIELD"

I didn't want A**m either mate. But if anyone says here that A** isn't worth a punt at 7 mill, they are lieing.

Remember Bebe cost 7.8 mill, Carrick cost 19 mill, Anderson cost 19 mill, Hargreaves cost 20 mill (for 18 months football). Also remember that Adam was better last season, than any of our clubs midfielders (except Lucas).

Like i said "worth a punt"

Blair Mayne YNWA"""
dear mr blair mayne ynwa
where have you been? or are you lfc in disguise?
by the way you will be very surprised that ngiak agrees with you
ngiak always thought adam and henderson were very good players
and ngiak would not have minded if they came to man united...
your midfield will surely be better with those two...

very quite on the rumour front on here tonight lads as fergie saying sneijder not coming made everyone stop typing personally wasn't to keen on him anyway bit to pricey but onwards and upwards keep the faith when as the gaffer ever not done something in the best interest of the club does not always please the fans but he runs the club how it should be don't think we would all be moaning as much about spending if city was not doing silly things in the transfer market

It has now got to a stage where I am really annoyed with this site & all the crap that is put on here, 3everyone knows someone connected with United who tells them this, that & the other, yes it is a rumour site, but at least make then sound half decent, other than just copy & paste what you read from the papers, rant over, have a good day:)

I have been reading this site for at least 2 years and I cannot believe the amount of nonsense that is actually posted on here. I know we all need to keep ourselves occupied in close season but lately the site has become a dumping ground of the intellectually inept. No genuine sources. Merely the hopes and dreams of the ill informed or more likely the uninformed. I stand by ed's stance to stop posting nonsense.

Here is a transfer reality The club has been in real terms grossly inactive and inept in the transfer Market in securing the services of players who are actually bridging the gulf that exists between ourselves and Barcelona.

An person could tell you that united have not been worth watching for a few years now. They are effective without entertaining on the domestic front and that is only whilst playing at home.

We are light years behind barcelona In Europe. We have been destroyed in 2 euro finals exclusively because of their ability to produce a high intensity pressure game where their midfield inflict their style of play on to us.

In response, goalkeeper aside, we have purchased a defender and a winger.

The centre of our midfield is as fragile as a creme egg Keane and Hargreaves never replaced

Scholes now retired. Giggs on his last legs and we are starting to sound like arsenal in terms of the the fact youth players will come good.

The modern game has changed. Either we move with it or we fall behind.

Fergusons reputation is legendary but unfortunately set against the back drop of gross technical incompetence at important times.

Furthermore the money spent this year, which as I have pointed out has not addressed our main deficiency, does not paper over the fact that ferguson has a moral duty to the club and the fans who are it's life blood to accept the americams financial strategy has crippled the club.
