Despite man united weak squad, liverpool couldn't capitalize.
Sincerly, liverpool fans ought to be ashamed of their performance, for the past 2 weeks, they have been coming on our site saying how suarez and co would trash united.
After today's game hope liverpool fans accept the fact that man utd has a better squad.lfc and co should realize how average their players are.(except suarez)

Had liverpool fans going on about how "lucky" we were to have pulled it back and got the 1 point.

They were arguing that the corner Hernandez scored from should have been a goal kick and not a corner. But, you could also argue that the free kick Gerrard scored from shouldn't have been a free kick.

I know at the end of the game, Rio admitted there was contact in the tackle but for a man of Adam's size... He shouldn't have went down so easy.

In my opinion, the result was a fair result.

I wasn't overly impressed today, i thought we showed Liverpool far too much respect and by doing so they got on top of us - we never really had a chance to do that with the starting line up we had. Would of prefered to see Anderson paired with Jones, start Nani and stick with Park and Rooney with Hernandez upfront in this game instead of Welbeck.

Delighted we got the point in the end and hung on though, it will have been a great experience for the new signings and the younger players - of which id say De Gea was immense, pure class.

Ronaldo's playing his 100th Madrid match, can't help but think what might of been! Oh well, he's gone and Nani is deveolping well - still miss him though like we all do!

Good luck to the team for midweek and next weeks massive match against Sh''ty! Im confident of a win and i'm hoping we have Cleverly back for then. Would like to see Jones stay in midfield and Vidic in for Evans and play with two upfront PLEASE! Rooney tracks back anyway :)

A good deserved point.

Reflecting on the game I dont believe Welbeck is particularly good at being the lone striker.
I believe SAF did the right thing tactically but just had the wrong personnel. Giggs at 37 playing 90 mins in midfield was a really peculiar decision. Then with his experience what he did in the wall was amateur. Fletcher did very little. Our midfield players are not dynamic enough to play in the way set out today, but it served a purpose and it was better than being overrun in midfield.

I have noted Liverpool fans being very confident on here over the last few days. Watching their team was interesting, Suarez (taking away the diving) is a good player, Gerrard still has something to offer but I didnt see a team on which they based such confidence on.

The ball hit the hand in the area on two occasions, neither was a penalty. One area Dalgleish has improved is the tactical diving, that is the only way to explain what Adam did.

It is a point at a difficult place to go but I believe we will have bigger challenges this season.

It's clear that the balls up against Basel is still in SAF's mind. Had Welbeck & co finished off that game, we'd have seen a stronger line up today. The trip to Romania is a must win game now, and so is the match against City. So I can understand why he fielded a weakened team this afternoon. It may have been a game against Liverpool, but in the grand scheme of things, this was just another league game against a team that will not challenge for the title. What's more important, a win against Liverpool - who won't finish any higher than 4th at best - or a win against the closest title rivals next week?

The game was really dull IMO. A draw was probably a fair result. Which is nothing to be concerned about considering none of Vidic, Rafael, Fabio, Cleverley, Anderson, Valencia, Nani, Rooney or Hernandez started. De Gea had another brilliant performance. I don't think he'll be getting much stick from opposition fans any time soon. Fletcher was good. Evra had one of his better games. Welbeck and Park struggled. And Giggs looked out of place.

Downing and Adam were embarrassing. It seems they've enrolled in Mr Suarez's class for divers.

Couple of points I want to make:

1. David de Gea was absolutely brilliant, and if it weren't for him, we probably would have lost. Two world class saves and looked much more composed today. For those who doubted him, you may now your mouths.

2. It looks like Phil Jones is going to be a massive player for us this season. He did a wonderful job of keeping Adam quiet, then he came off and Adam started to find space. He really should be used in midfield more often. He was excellent again today.

3. I would have liked to have seen a stronger line up today from the start, as we had a lot of the ball in the first half and we found ourselves getting into very good positions at times. If Rooney and Chico were on the pitch in the first half, we would have gone into half time 2-0 up.

4. How can a tap on the heel of Charlie Adam make him go flying to the ground like that? That's as much a dive as any other.

liverpool fans said we were worse than last season and we're on the road to failure, yet we lost to them last season, so i see our team has improved, and improved a lot if your to believe that their team is miles better than it was last season...

a draw at anfield is a good result considering we had our 5 main starters on the bench,or injured rooney, nani, hernandez, anderson and vidic.

we can argue all day about the antics in the game, but that isn't going to change the result.
lets look forward the the game at old trafford.

Just been on the Liverpool site to see what they were saying about the game and i saw this and nearly vomitted. "your boys were the better team today, if you deserved to win but i'm happy with a draw.... HERBIE(MUFC)" . Herbie i don't know how long you have been supporting United but I guess from your post not long. To go on their site just after a game, grovelling to them like a snake is unforgivable. Fergie knocked them right off their f***ing perch for a very good reason and he has no intention of letting them back. Did anyone notice Dowling also clearly diving over the outstretched leg of complete fresh air? I thought diving constituted a yellow card....wait a minute, it was a Liverpool player, sorry my mistake.

I thought Enrique's ball juggling skills in his own penalty area must have impressed that long-time Liverpool supporter, and US basketball's most unpopular player, the arrogant Lebron James.
I thought handball in the area was a penalty...wait a minute, I've made the same mistake as above, sorry again.

I would hate to be in a submarine with the Liverpool squad. When the Captain shouts "dive, dive, dive" they would probably think it's a normal Kenny training sessions. Players eagerly throwing themselves all over the place in a confined space would be quite dangerous!

Blair what do you mean with stop the moaning about the diving? If Nani had gone at your defence and went down that easily you would have been just as annoyed as we are with Adam. It also wasn't only Adam, Suarez was at it as usual and even Downing had one early on.

Anyways cheating aside we weren't lucky it was an even match where a draw was a fair result. Until Liverpool scored neither team threatened. The game didn't start until the last half hour. One thing that was clear was that when both sides had 5 in midfield neither side created but we had Nani, Rooney, Valencia, Anderson and Hernandez on the bench and Liverpool had their best possible starting 11 out.

it was a hard fought draw! evra almost lost the plot today..since the toss actually..something wasnt right with him..ferdinand in my opinion played very well..for a guy who has been written off, he did cover suarez well..so did evans..fault him how much you want..he has been in top form this season...as for the whole team we did what fergie wanted since kickoff..get a point..

remember this is anfield..at old traffoed it would be a different ball game..we would outclass them..coz i expect fergie to then go on the offensive..

i expect the regulars to start in the champions league and win by a huge margin..

This season is different as fergie and his tactics are different from last season...uniteds game and squad strength has vastly improved..

Ok, first things first the scouse have been taking lessons from Suarez and flopping all over the place looking for frees but that doesn't excuse this p**s poor performance.

De Gea outstanding again, Smalling did well defensively, Evans did very well by his standards and Evra actually looked like he cared again. But there were some absolute stinkers.

Giggs has been one of our most valuable player for the last twenty years, but this year is the season too far for him. He was sluggish, his passing was poor and his defensive work rate was non-existent. Jones was completely out of his depth, he looked lost. Fletcher ran around like a dog chasing his tail and didn't provide the cool head that Jones needed alongside him. Park did what Park does, i.e. marked the oppositions full back. Welbeck was isolated but his first touch was brutal. And Ferdinand has shown us once again that his best days are behind him. When Vidic returns we should expect Smalling alongside him, Rio is slow and increasingly resorting to tripping quick forwards, Adam dived for the free but Ferdinand gave him the ideal opportunity to try it.

Taking off Young instead of Giggs is a moronic decision, in fact going out with such an impotent first eleven was beyond belief. Fergie got his away point but the standard of our general play was nowhere near that of champions. No excuses for today, the scouse should be looking for excuses to why they didn't put at least another two past us.

Quite happy with a draw in the end, but if I were a Liverfool fan, I'd be ashamed. Suarez and A**m were a disgrace to not only Liverpool, but to the game of football. With the game being shown all around the world, it doesn't give a great impression, does it? So well done Liverfool for cheating your way to a point, you never know, it might be the point that clinches Europa League football next season, and then you will be able to attract more quality signings like Downing and Henderson next year....

Now look at the possible Utd team! Dgea, Rio,Jones,Smalling,Evra,Young,Nani,Anderson,Carrick,Rooney & maybe Wellbeck! Not too many cheap players there! We are in for a hiding.
