Reports in a certain newspaper saying the crown prince of Saudi Arabia is thinking of investing or buying Manchester United. These things take years to get over the line, wondering if any of the ED's have heard any rumours further to this?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - If they are saying he is "thinking" about anything then it shows that these newspapers possess enormous powers of telepathy. This will, I assume, be the same superhero that shared Mr Mourinho's sacking 10 days ago with the gullible Manchester United supporters - or perhaps the arrival of Zindane the following day? I suspect that don't have any superpowers at all and this arose when Mohammed bin Salman was pictured looking at a couple of derelict semi-detached houses in Moss Side that he is rumoured to be knocking through in to one.

If he were to take over at least you wouldn't have any of those silly women attending games anymore.}

Brilliant Ed, reading some of your responses is one of the best things on the site.

Not to be funny but ed001 has said on the rumours page that that the Mourinho sacking story came from a legitimate club source.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that doesn't mean it is true. It could have been the source's opinion. It could have been deliberately leaked by someone trying to force him out. Or it could have been a story given out in a hunt to find out who is leaking stories from within the club. Or it could have been genuine and reversed when the story was leaked. Just because the source is a good, genuine source does not always mean the info will be correct.

I remember Mick McCarthy was almost sacked by Wolves a few weeks before it actually happened. The then-owner Steve Morgan made the decision after the game to sack Mick in the morning. Only a couple of people knew, and one told me, the problem was Morgan slept on it and calmed down by morning and gave Mick another chance. Made me look a right melon on the Wolves pages.

I don't know if this journalist has been stitched up, made a genuine error or if he knowingly just stirred crap, as I do not know the guy in question. The only thing I know is he sourced the story from within United and that was why they banned him from talking about it pitchside just before a game. Quite rightly they felt it was taking the Michael to want to discuss leaked info which affected the team just before a game at Old Trafford.}

Wow thanks for the explanation ed. That's a great insight.

Micks arse finally got put in the bacon slicer anyways.

{Ed001's Note - yeah but too late in the end to save them that season, though it looks to have worked out ok for them in the end!

And you are very welcome. This is the problem with sources, you have to be very careful to ensure you fully know if they are just giving an opinion or not. A lot of people just don't care to check these days as they just want to get a story out there and beat everyone else to it.}

The same Saudi Arabia who murder their journalists? Would they be better owners than the Glazers?

Would they spend more than the glazers? Yes.

Are they better people than the glazers? No.

There's not many around who can afford 4 billion dollars just to buy the club. Most of these people have dodgy ethics.
