Hi Guys
It looks like our injury problems have increased yet again with Daley Blind looking like he's out for a long time with a knee injury.Anyone going to the Emirates on Saturday better take your boots you're all in the squad.

I thought the international break would be good for us in that some of our inured players might have some time to recover. As of the moment we've picked up 3 more injuries (Blind, DDG and Carrick) and we've only played the first of two games. At this rate we'll be calling Paul Scholes back out of retirement!

as much as we all love de gea it looks increasingly likely he will be going back home. i do not personally think valdes is good enough, but just a thought since chelsea have now got one of the best keepers out there in courtois maybe we could go for cech as a replacement. still a top notch keeper plenty of pl experience etc and he won't want to stay as a 2nd choice to courtois.
thoughts guys and gals

Why is it increasingly likely all of a sudden?

A paper said it so it must be true.

If de Gea does go to real madrid then there will be plenty of atletico supporters waiting at his new home with a can of petrol and a box of matches. The same ones that made it difficult for Aguero to go to real madrid.

Supasub - DDG's contract runs out in 18 months and all talk of a renewal have gone very quiet. Given his importance to the squad it stands to reason that tying him down for another 5 years would be one of our top priorities. The fact that we've yet to do so seems pretty ominous. Given how we've been performing and the draw of Real Madrid I really wouldn't be surprised if there's real truth to the rumours. I don't buy into all of the 'he's Atletico so would never go to Madrid' talk either. Wasn't it just last summer that Falcao was publicly pleading with RM to sign him?

Agree0 Disagree1

Falcao didn't grow up in Madrid as an Atletico fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know that much about Athletico's finances at the minute, but surely with their player sales, their recent great successes and the ever improving prize money (not sure about TV money), then they may be viable candidates. If he really wouldn't choose RM, then going back to his old club could be viable. I think we are wrong to ignore that possibility, especially as his girlfriend wants to go back according to some people.

He needs to be tied down this Xmas whatever happens, otherwise we will get our pants pulled down. This always happens to us whenever we get one of the gambles paying off, I just hope it bucks the trend this time and he stays with us for his career.

Atletico is the club he has supported since childhood and played for them. Much more likely to go there if he were to leave. Hope fully it's just the usual posturing of a new deal and soon we will hear that he has signed a new contract. There are now at least 4 spaniards at the club which should hopefully keep him company.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok supasub. IF ddg is to leave our beloved team would you think cech would be a suitable replacement as this is what i asked in my original post. Also do not rule out barca making a move either as although they now have ter stegen who is a good keeper de gea is still a class above and would push him out of the starting 11 if they were to sign him

Yep off with a knee injury after 20 minutes. Best case is it was a precaution and he will be fresh for Saturday, worst case he could be out for months. Fingers crossed its closer to the former than the latter.

Agree2 Disagree0

Phew its been confirmed as a thigh injury, not knee

Just head on SlySports Hiddink thinks its a serious injury, twisted Medial Ligament or a ligament rupture, out for 4 to 6 weeks :(

dannyc,

No you didn't, we had a discussion about whether he may just be a flash in the pan. There have been many players over the years who have looked good for a bit, and many players who have had a few good games and been linked to United, but more often than not they cannot continue the form shown.

We also felt he may have similar attributes to Wilson, who in my opinion will be our main striker in 2 years time.

Agree0 Disagree2

Have you guys supporting this watched Berahino this season rather just reading the media hype? He has been very good in a couple of games, but recently you wouldn't have known he was on the pitch. He has scored a few penalties and taken a few good chances. He was anonymous against us aside from the goal.

If we were to pay over the odds for players that do this we would have signed Papisse Cisse, that Ulloa guy for Leicester - should we now be looking at Charlie Austin, he looked a handful against City the other day or maybe Shane Long, he has pace works hard and looks good at the moment?

I think some of our supporters forget that we are Man Utd - we need to be competing at the highest level, not gambling on key positions replacing world class with more and more semi-potential. We have Wilson, we need world class to go with it.

It was similar a couple of years ago with Benteke, one season wonder, - yes he has his injuries, but he is not nor ever will be Utd quality. Mid-table teams no doubt, but Berahino will fade out like Francis Jeffers did, like Andy Carroll did, like Connor Wickham did and the dozens like them - wouldn't be surprised to see Spurs or Liverpool fall for the trap mind, £22m on Berahino this Xmas has Spurs/Liverpool written all over it.

Agree1 Disagree0

I will say it again i rate him.
He has pace, good movement nice touch and a cool head .
He has been improving for 18 month and just turned 21, i think he has the potential to be a very good player.
I think he is already a better striker than the likes of welbeck and at only 21 is still improving

Suggested it weeks ago about hinteregger of Salzburg up and coming defender - I'm sure he wouldn't brake the bank either!?

Ashley Young linked with a move to Spain. I would love to replace him with Memphis Depay, 13 games, 12 goals 5 assists. He is really starting to blossom as a player. Domenico Berardi is another player I think would really add to the squad 10 games, 3 goals, 6 assists. Signing two wingers/inside forwards would mean Dimaria could move back into a 3 man mid.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Heard of that guy playing in Zimbabwe. 32 games, 40 goals, 14 assists, must be worth it, surely?!?!?

I think Andres Periera has a lot of things similar to young scholes, hope we can turn him in to a good player.
