I'll be at the game on Saturday,

Does anyone have any decent places to park or does every one join the madness of dealing with it once you get there.

If I were you, I’d park in the city, and get the train to and from old Trafford. Train goes straight to the stadium on match days. Getting out of Trafford in a car after a game is an absolute nightmare.

Unfortunately since they made the local estate permit only, it's a nightmare. If you have time, get there early and park at Frankie and Benny's, then jump on the tram into town for a couple of hours or find a watering hole near the ground.

Others might have a better suggestion, I've found it a nightmare for the past couple of seasons.

where are you travelling from BIG V? The only time I drove up I stopped at the premier inn next to the stadium which is ideal as long as you can stay overnight otherwise I always get the train into Piccadilly then grab a taxi or hop on the metro, its much easier than driving up mate.

There are decent car parks at Media City, maybe at Booths in the multi storey, not too cheap (maybe £7) but you can then walk over to the ground from there without having to mess about with the tram (about a 20 min walk) . You are far enough away then to miss the match traffic.

Enjoy the game Big V, I will give you a wave, I'm the guy in the red shirt with Chevrolet on the front.

Can park at the matchstick man pub for £5 but it fills up a couple of hours before the game it's about 10-15 mins away there's also parking for other restaurants there for £6.50 on the pay and display.

Thanks for the information guys, I'll show my Mrs and let her decide as this is her first time. Took me 3 years to get her to old Trafford 😁.

I park outside CEF in the industrial park. Free and quick to get away.

I have parked for free at the Metrolink station (Navigation Road) and then got the tram. Only 5-6 stops and takes 15-20 mins. Plus if you are early you can stay on the team and go into the City. You don’t get caught in all the traffic on the way home either. Just depends on which direction you are coming from etc.

It depends on how much you enjoy a good walk before and after the game. The only time I used the train it took 4 or 5 of them going by before we could get on one. As long as the weather is half way decent I prefer to pay to park and walk. If you're a very long way off you will be consoled by the fact that the traffic may have died down a bit by the time you get to your car.

I was n the middle of Manchester one day and I asked a guy what's the fastest way to get to old Trafford and he said a helicopter.

Ed001 I know it's early days but I want to ask what are your first impressions of Solksjaer and do you think he could end up getting the job permanent?

Caolán.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he has done nothing to give any impressions of him to be honest. Until he loses a game and we see how he and the team react, we will not really know anything about him. Right now he has just come in and been the opposite to Mourinho and the players are enjoying the freedom. We have yet to find out if he has more to offer than that.}

Absolutely true that Ed01.

{Ed001's Note - might turn out to be a genius move or an awful one, but we are a long way from finding out yet.}

I worry that people will get swept up in the improved football/ atmosphere over the next few months, and forget that the club requires massive modernisation if it is to keep pace with the best of the best.

Shan,

Why does everything have to be about the future? Are we not allowed to just enjoy what is going on now? I'd hate to not be allowed to enjoy the present because all I worried about was the future, must be so miserable.

Everybody knows there is a lot of work to do but it is great to see us playing how we are, scoring goals and winning games, are we meant to sit on our hands and keep complaining even though it's pretty good?

This is why the club should be employing the DoF or Technical Director as is being mentioned.

With Mourinho now gone then we have a wider choice to get the right person in the post who can then asses Ole and other candidates to then help the board make the right decision.

Never known it to take so long to employ someone. This was a recommendation to Woodward in 2016.

I'm caught up in the 'whirlpool' right now. Absolutely loving it. Winning games and actually looking forward to watching us play. Incredible.

GDS you were a positive bloke sonetime ago. what happened to you, having a go at me at all my posts. Something wrong dude?

Yes, i sit and plan for my future and that is why i am in a position where i am at this very moment. Miserable isn't something that i am. Anyway, just walk down the road and reach Anfield and ask them what it feels to just sit and enjoy the present. They will tell you how many league titles they have won in the last 25 years by not planning for the future.

Wazza, i agree mate. I am also enjoying and waiting for the next match but it would be unwise if we just got caught up in the moment and not planned for the future.

Not sure anything I said was ‘having a go at you’ mate, calm down. What about my post wasn’t positive?

You are aware that nobody on this page can do anything about the clubs future, you’re just a fan not the chief exec, a fan of a team that has 6 wins from 6 and is finally playing some decent football. I just suggest you enjoy it, otherwise you’ll spend all your time wondering what could be and miss the fun.

Yet again, got to agree with GDS2, what's so wrong with enjoying good attacking football, especially since we've had to wait quite a while for it.

It's quite arrogant for us to think about the planning for future as we are just fans and not really in the driving seat in my opinion which is full of humility.

Shan - there’s no point worrying about what you can’t control.

We’ve been terrible for a while and watching football was miserable.

Now we are playing well again and watching football is enjoyable.

Just go with it man, you can’t change the outcome 👍🏼.
