No posts guys!

Just benn looking in on the Arsenal and Chelski sights they are all having so much fun supporting their teams - as for the Liverfools - deluded as usual tho Ed 002 is on form - something about a chap comparing himself in the school showers .
Was / is Ed 002 in the teaching trade ? Sure comes across that way sometimes :))

What we need in midfield is another Roy Keane. I think Jones could easily do that role. Strong, skillful, determined, can defend, can break forward, good in the air, great tackler. If we give him a run in the midfield I think he will excel at that position. He would be wasted as a centre back and is maybe not tall enough for that position.

I see on here there already about 30 players utd linked with or some fans would like to see utd go for, just a question where's the money coming from? I'm sure utd quite happy for agents to be saying utd interested as does look then like there are involved, well I'm sure the interest soon goes when about 30m fees are mentioned! I'm waiting for the summer lines of value in the market, players unavailble(even thou somehow they are when money is put up)we have strong enough squad, failure in champ league, cups will all be brushed aside! Waiting to see if the unrest at Madrid kicks off in summer&a possible of Ronaldo wanting to move then what the lines would be! Fergie say if world class player is availble then I'll be in there money not a problem!....I think different! How long can keep the giggs&scholes show goin trying to roll back the years to save that midfield bein totally shown up again in europe

Hi JRG, if you read my post further down I've put "found recently", here's another I've found, copied & posted just for you as I sense a bit of annoyance.
Shellsuits, Donnay, Lonsdale, Le Coq Sportif & now Andy Carroll. Mike Ashley has been flogging overpriced tat to Scousers for decades.
As I find them I'll send then, knowing they are winding at least one person up is amusing. You would do a £35million (again refer to earlier post if you need some help) fee justice far more than me.

I think alot of the regulars on here are convinced that a young striker will come in during the summer transfer period - i like some of the names that have been mentioned however i remember a while back that Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid was linked to us - do you think he could be a sensible choice. He'd cost under £5 million and i have watched him a few times - he is an excellent prospect but has no chance of getting in a team with Ronaldo, Higuain and Benzema (also potentially a Cavani or a Llorente in the summer).

I think in terms of a striker it should be a young one and i think Morata would be a decent bet.

Now a few people have said we could/do need a defender. On the whole i disagree, with Ferdinand Vidic Evans Jones and Smalling all playing in the centre there really doesn't seem to be space but i get what people say when you look at it Jones doesn't look ready for a long run there, Rio is hardly ever fit, we don't know how Vida will recover and Evans although alot better of late looks shakey at times. So how about we let Rio leave and sign someone so we still have 5 CB's but we have a player who could be relied on more than Rio? the question is who do we sign. I think it should be someone in there mid twentys who would complement what we have and maybe be abit versitile. My choice would be Jan Vertonghen who looked very good against us and he can play at LB and DM aswell, and he'll be in the last year of his contract so won't be too expensive and would allow Jones to push up and play more in midfield so we wouldn't need a CM signing or a LB and could concentrate our spending on forward positions.

Do anyone think it's a possibility we could sell Kuszczak this month as soon as Lindegaard is fit? You would think one Russian club may take him to end his reserve team nightmare?

Quick Question...

Why is everyone forgetting about Tunners?

In every prediction squad he's not getting a mention, even on the bench. He's had a great season and I fully expect him to be either in the First team squad next season or to be on Loan at somewhere Like Bolton...

I know on here there are plenty of suggestions about which players we should buy and why but realistically in the summer I can see us only buying a maximum of 3 and I think 1 of those will be a youngster who will most likely only play the odd game here and there next season.

I'm hoping for more but I'm expecting a young attacking player who will play a bit part role, a central midfielder who keeps possession and a defender depending on what happens with Rio's injury problems and Vidic's return

In: Benatia, Eriksen and a youngster

Out: Berbatov, Macheda, Owen, Kusczack, maybe Scholes and Ferdinand

Promote Brady, Pogba, Petrucci, W Keane and Fryers

That is my realistic summer. That would be us spending about 40 million and recouping around 12-15 million.

I've got another JRG!

Andy Carroll has turned down being the new face of L'oreal hair products as everyone burst into fits of laughter everytime he uttered the words "Because Im Worth It!"
If you want me for after dinner speech's my fee is anything up to £35 million! seeing as that's what you normally pay for poor performers.

You have to respect the way Blair Mayne comes on this page time after time, repeatedly getting owned by TK and Sydney time after time. Still you cannot blame the boy for trying.

i never said sell nani based on thursdays game i said it based on how inconsistant he has been his whole united career. Every game you see the forwards get into a good position only for nani to go for glory and put it high or wide. Two or three times a game. How many times do we have to see wayne throwing his arms in the air in frustration? His set pieces are appalling for a professional player. Thursdays game was a good example with that first corner straight out of play. So he's been injured he should still be able to take a corner properly. Young has been out injured as well yet he had no problems taking a corner. I think when everyone is fit valencia is first choice on the right. Nani isn't that good on the left he's worse than he is on the right. So i do feel that if a good bid came in of twentyfive million or more it would be sensible to take it. Play valencia on the right. Have young cover the right and rotate as i think young would be far more effective on the right although i'd like to see him in the hole as well. Young is wasted on the left. And buy a top left footed left winger. We'd be more balanced. And i would like to see robbie brady in the first team squad as cover for the left. Its not just me saying nani is a possibility to go others on here have said it to. And i do believe three editors and a couple of regulars think he was up for sale last summer.

Sorry,seen these recently.
Liverpool have offered to sell Andy Carroll back to Newcastle Utd for free. Newcastle have reported Liverpool for threatening behaviour.

I don't think I'll ever get my head round paying 35million for Andy Carroll.

Fabio and Jonny Evans - I could probably go into more detail on the other defenders but these two are of particular interest to me. Evans has obviously been a player that divides opinion and one that is maligned by many supporters. Some will even tell you that he always has a mistake in him. I won't get into that (the discussion has become tiresome), but I will get into Evans' current season -- quite simply, he's arguably been our best defender this season.

There has been injury concerns for Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, and the da Silva twins while youngster Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have dealt with continual position shifts. Patrice Evra has just been bad. The one constant and solid defender on the squad for the season has been Evans. He's obviously had a few mistakes -- the Manchester City match comes to mind -- but his positioning (which arguably is the most important aspect of defending) has been excellent and he has shown great improvement in aerial duels. On the latter point, he failed to win half of his Premier League aerial duels last season but he's won about 70% of them this season. Another solid performance by him in Amsterdam and I hope that United supporters can appreciate his contributions this season -- despite what your feelings on him from the past are.

As mentioned, Evra has been poor this season so it was refreshing to see Fabio do a job at left-back versus Ajax. It was also refreshing to see him go the full 90 minutes without limping or being stretchered off. I have concerns that Evra has simply played too many games in the past few seasons and that perhaps his performances would improve if he was rotated more. While we have numerous trusted options at right-back, Fabio is the only trusted deputy at left-back but his constant injuries has hindered his progress and reliability. In comparison to Evra, Fabio showed a bit more bite defending and he was more direct in marauding up the touchline in support of Young. His passing was a bit looser than Evra's but his performance was one of the better ones this season from the left-back position. Let's hope the Brazilian can stay healthy. Let's hope that he can eventually become our future first-choice left-back.

genuine question now,
remember when teams used to get 2points for a win and when they changed it to 3 football became more attacking and thus exciting, well what do you guys think about creating a goal bonus? say an extra point if score more than 4or 5 in a game
or do we have a good balance now?

i know this may not be as good for us but would make games more exciting and maybe get more kids at games, would certainly lead to greater tv revenue

No rumours, just what I would like to see next season :

Martinez - really feel he could take our midfield to the next level. Just oozes class, box-to-box & is that good defensively that Simeone has been playing him at centre back

Ocampos - I have wanted Hazard but just have a gut feeling about this lad - looks the spitting image of a 17yr old Ronaldo

Subotic - in my opinion the best young centre back in Europe, and anyone Serbian & recommended by Vida.

Happy with Rooney/Chico/Welbeck but Berb out would free up a space - a young lighting quick striker would be my pick - thought about an aerial/physical presence, but the way the game is progressing it might not be needed.

Pogba/Petrucci/Barmby/Addy/Van Velzen look the pic of the crop - gradually increase their exposure.

What you think?
