Hi ed002, can you give any update on the fellaini situation. It's been reported jose wants him to sign a new contract but that he is unhappy with the last offer from united?
How do you think this will end up?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Fellaini wants to move on and is probably not interested in being cover at MU. I am not aware of any specific updates Ken.}

18 Jan 2018 21:43:13
If he wants to leave then fair enough can't force people to stay.

Fair few media outlets saying tonight we are offering Rojo a new contract. i'm not a huge fan, I appreciate he has done well at times but if we are looking to win a very tough PL and compete in the CL we need to upgrade gradually on players like Rojo, Blind, Fellani, Darmian (young to see out his contract) also Lindelof needs to cement a place reasonably quickly. I would be moving ROjo on myself.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

18 Jan 2018 19:16:43
Agree rojo has performed well for us but we need a serious upgrade to partner bailly. Jones, lindelof, tuanzebe and fosu mensah would do well as backup.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 Jan 2018 19:18:18
Between now and the summer window we should see 4 in 4 out and that should put us in a great position squad wise. Big improvment in our young players like rash martial and lindelof and maybe shaw is to be expected and lukaku should be well settled .
A big plus will be sanchez coming back fresh in the summer with no world cup to play.

Agree4 Disagree2

18 Jan 2018 20:26:26
I agree I love Rojo’s passion but he has a mistake in him and is incredibly rash at times. He also always hoofs the ball up the pitch aimlessly instead of looking for a pass. We need to have cbs that can start the attacks from the back and in that way Lindelof is streets ahead of our other defenders as he is very cultured on the ball.

Agree4 Disagree1

18 Jan 2018 21:10:09
With all the CB’s that we currently have we don’t have a commanding one to play alongside Baily or Jones. Lindelof needs more time.
Smalling and Rojo should be moved on and a single replacement of top quality to come in.
I have nothing against Blind, Darmian and Young but they should also be moved on with a new LB brought in.
Then we can have TFM, Valencia for RB, Shaw plus one other as LB.
Carrick to retire, Zlatan to be released, Fellaini likely to leave, question mark over if Herrera will stay. A new CM player to come in and McTomminay to be in the squad.
Then possibly a wide player or forward to come in.
The squad needs trimming so that the good younger players get more of a chance and that we provide quality above quantity in signing new players.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 21:23:27
I still think Lindelof will turn out great. He had a bad start, but he's young and for some players it takes time to get used to the league. I think Jose is managing him well at the moment, playing him just the right amount to get used to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 21:35:33
I would be tempted to get rid of smalling and Rojo and promote tunazebe properly. He has got so much talent and 4 cbs of Bailly, Lindelof, Jones and tuanzebe is pretty good imo. But with Jones and even bailly’s dodgy injury records I think we would have to sign another centre back. Someone like umtitti or varane. But I do think Lindelof will turn good and will be a hell of a player once he settles properly.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 21:51:05
Id imagine Bailly/ Lindelof will be the longterm pairing. Tuanzebe for the future. Jones an rojo as cover. I agree we need to sell one. And i'd sell Smalling and rojo. But maybe the funds aren't there for a centre back this summer not with needing to sign a couple of midfielders and a fullback.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 21:58:08
I would like Tuanzabee and TFM to be fully integrated into the first team squad and just as importantly be given their best position .

Reading Jack Rodwell interview today, he was Evertons youngest player to play in Europe, made his debut for England and was said to be the future captain of Everton all at CENTRE HALF. but he was put in midfield as he was told 'you can develop there with less responsibility" a bit of a kop out really by the coaching staff. anyway he says now he wished he would have stuck to his guns and said he wasnt a midfielder he was a centre half and that's where he should play.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes still earning £70k a week and has 18 months left on his contract BFB so dont feel too sorry for him mate..

18 Jan 2018 21:59:20
Lindelof is still very young to be a cb in this league at a top team. I also think he will come good and will be a good foil for bailly.

I'm not not fellainis biggest fan but jose likes the options he gives from the bench so if he stays its because the manger wants him to.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 23:15:10
I agree Lindelof looks good.

Rojo doesn't make negative noises when not in team and appears very committed. He had a good spell next to Bailly before he got injured and I would be happy for him to stay. With a run he could cement first place with Bailly again. If we ever try to switch to 3 at the back then he comes into LCB very nicely.

I wouldn't have CB high on recruitment list, but I would list Damian and Blind as surplus.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jan 2018 00:11:43
I would Smalling and Darian first. Smalling although fit always doesn't take responsibility when ball is in his area. Seems to shy away from the ball and making decisions. I know he became pro footballer late in his career. And it is evident with his passing aswell. Give Tuanzebe a go when he comes back from loan from Aston Villa.

Hi ed 025 and 001.
What impact do you think the signing of sanchez will have on our team?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he can only improve utd for me ken hes world class, my only worry would be the flaws in his personality because he is a bit of a sulker at times, once you get past the ludicrous wages thing though you have a player who will score goals create chances and will bring energy and speed to uniteds attack, he would improve any side in the world and could be the missing piece in the jigsaw that could mean the difference in finishing runners up or just missing out on top 4 mate..

19 Jan 2018 07:05:01
ED 025 -Yes I saw that, that was the basis for the article he won't teat up his contract 80k a week . and he isn't playing and has been told he won't be either.

I was really thinking more along the lines of young players getting played in their position and making it their own, getting moved around can disrupt their development.

Thanks for your comment, keep up the good work EDS!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - when he was a youngster at everton he looked the real deal BFB, we all thought his future lay as a centre back but obviously the coaches seen different and even at sunderland was played as a DM, his problems may have been more about being a young lad on fantastic money than on where he played though, also the weight of expectation was a factor in his demise but i find it hard to find sympathy for guys like him when nurses are having to use food banks to exist mate..

18 Jan 2018 14:16:08
Im not sure if this has been asked recently, so I apologise in advance for any duplication,
are United trying to sign other players during this window or is the potential Sanchez one the only business they are conducting apart from extending contracts of those already with United?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - They have an interest in others.}

18 Jan 2018 14:31:00
Do United have an interest in Jean Michel Seri Ed002?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Not that I know of. I am not aware of any approach from Manchester United to Nice at all and I very much doubt there has been. I know nothing of his agent at all so cannot say if they have approached him, but three other sides have spoken directly with Nice about the player who has made it clear he won't sign a new contract - which means he will move in the summer. If they did have a serious interest it would also mean that they are stepping back from long-term targets who they plan on looking to again - which might of happened, I don't know.}

18 Jan 2018 15:23:57
If you have the time and inclination Ed who are the others, or should I just wait for the next Sharkopod?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Or read the posts.}

18 Jan 2018 15:26:20
thanks ed, and are they hoping to have them finished by the end of this window?
I know that's a bit specualtive.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot sensibly answer questions about the timing of transfers.}

18 Jan 2018 18:52:34
Be interesting to see if we sign Sanchez will we still go after bale in the summer. or will we be after a few younger players even though we should have a few good young players coming through the next few years.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 13:09:23
I just realised it's all a ruse, there is no way we are going to sign Sanchez. The guy falls well short of Mourinho's 6ft plus policy.

Unless the extra money we are paying is for shin implants to make him taller? lol.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

18 Jan 2018 13:24:24
Stick him on Mata's shoulders, they should just about make 6ft between them.

Agree7 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 14:19:12
That's a good idea, then if Sanchez looks unhappy we can say "What's the Mata with Sanchez? ". lol.

I would rather put mata above Sanchez. That would make him quicker.

Alexis 7 Manchester United shirts in Adidas stores.

I've just been on Adidas online and you can still get Micki on the shirt but no option for Sanchez unless you create your own, in which case you can also buy Hermida 7.

Ah sorry then i guess that's a fan who got it printed in one of the Adidas stores on Oxford Street in London. My apologies.

No worries Shan, you just got me very excited for a moment. Many moons ago before I had discovered this site I had a friend who worked for a private health company who used to be involved in our medicals. I remember being similarly excited when he told me that a certain R Ferdinand's name had appeared on the database a good two to three days before anything was announced.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2018 18:45:54
Wouldn’t it be Hermida 12?

Found this on twitter, a very accurate description of media

Media reporting transfers:
Walcott: transfer fee
VVD: transfer fee
Coutinho: transfer fee
Keita: transfer fee

Alexis: transfer and agent fee + wages + signing and performance bonus + house + car + electricity and telephone bill + pet food + cost of items required to clean a dog's arse.

Believable10 Unbelievable0

18 Jan 2018 12:43:19
Haha very true but this is also because of our well known brand.

Media companies will probably make a lot more money on fabricating stories about United then any other club.

18 Jan 2018 11:59:31
Man, I've been waiting for them two to sign!

Not a chance we ARE getting them both this window. We're sending Blomqvist and Bellion the other way.

Bellion: Jesper, did you leave the cap off the toothpaste?

Blomqvist: Eh, yeah. Sorry.

Bellion: It seems like for every good day you have as a flatmate you have three bad days.

Blomqvist: Are you kidding me? You just showed up last year out of nowhere, you've never paid rent, done the dishes or taken the bins out. The neighbours haven't even heard of you. You're a nonentity! In fact, I've put your room up for rent. You're out of here.

William Prunier enters.

Prunier: Hello. I'm here about the room.

Blomqvist/ Belllion: *@! & off!

Thanks.

So Sanchez's wages started around 350k moved onto 400k then to 450k and are now 500k, I hope we have this wrapped this week because if it continues I am sure the media will have us pay him a few million a week next week.
