personally i don't think there will be another signing and personally i don't think there should be. lets give the players we have until january to see how they do then if we need someone else then we can get them then.
I think everyone can agree that the players we have are more than good enough to keep us in contention for the league between now and january and are more than good enough to get us through the group stages of the champions league so why do we NEED to but anyone before january? lets give our young players the chance to step up without putting player infront of them in the pecking order thus slowing their development.
Lets trust Sir Alex and his judgement on these players as i'm sure with his inside knowledge and being able to see these lads close up everyday in training that he is much better placed to judge their talents than any of us are.
After the communitity shield there was so much confidence about the place then we go and WIN our first game of the season(which was away from home which is were we struggled last season) and the confidence dies for some odd reason. I know we've picked up injuries but name me a team that won't this season, everyone will drop point's at some time this season possibly down to injuries, and you know what we haven't dropped any yet were as our main rivals have. And i know De Gea wasn't the most convincing but anyone who's consistantly watched this boy over the last two years will know that he's quailty and any mistakes he makes at the moment are just teething problems, he will be a great keeper for us. So i see no reason what so ever for so many of my fellow reds to be so down at the moment. cheer up guys were either gonna have a great season and win some silverwear or we'll see the bedding in of the young players that will bring home silverwear every season for the next 5-10 years. As they say the futures bright the futures RED.

WOW. Seen some footage of De Gea in training from U.S tours and when he was Madrid. Let me just say he makes the big saves. Obviously the small things that matter and needs upper body strength. Time will tell. He will be one of the top United Keepers nonetheless.

If we don't get a creative midfielder we want in 2 weeks would there be possibility the January market will be even more important? I guess I would be disappointed if we didn't sign with all the claims going around even though it is hard to ignore. Maybe analysis of the first half can determine who we need.

To all that comented on my post yesterday... I kinda agree with you 'Redman'. However, to all you guys that say WS is not putting money first... If he REALLY wanted to play for United, he would put in a transfer request and lower his wages. Remember everyone, United is a Bigger club than his club Sometimes in life, if you wana move to a bigger club or in our world, company, you gotta show it to further your career Look, I just prefer players who are hungry to play for United and help us progress and NOT just for money I just dont think WS has that hunger Thats why Nasri, Modric, Mario etc would show more hunger and maybe put money second Think about it, if WS moves for... lets say £150,000 per week, isnt that a BIG enough wage?

TK RED saw your post on Celtic site about OLD FIRM having to earn spot in EPL. Not a good day to be Scottish after latest european results although both old firm teams can turn it around. Sadly these days it is all about Sky TV money or the lack of it in Scotland, as we keep saying give us that kind of money and with our huge fan bases watch us go, but that is why smaller english clubs will never allow Celtic/Rangers into EPL.
But TK talking of money are you and your fellow reds not worried the way the Glazers are touting your team around the different stockmarkets trying to ease THEIR debt not help manchester united.
Hail hail timalloy (ps I welcomed you on celtic site)

is there any actual proof that we have tried or is it all paper talk , have we made a proper bid for any of the above players?

Personally I would rather have Gotze at the club than Sneijder - younger, obvious talent and I think he'd fit perfectly at the club and the way he links up with players from any team that Ive seen him for either Borussia or Germany, he can play with anyone So wht do you think?
Eds? Who would you rather have guys? {Ed036's Note - I'd rather have Sneijder, , but only because I think we already have significant potential in the shape of Cleverley; I feel we need an instant, not long-term, injection of qualityto our midfield at the moment.}

According to Sir Alex Vidic may be out for 5 weeks, The good News is Rio's injury isn't as bad as they thought and he could be ready for our game against Arsenal.

Some of the posting here is hilarious.

So many people worried about who Chelsea and City are adding to their squads.

SAF has been successful because he builds "teams" and knows way more than anyone here about the quality of the next batch of young players.

Cleverly and Wellbeck look the part, same with Jones whilst Smalling just gets better and better.

Young I thought was good but he has lot more to offer than I realized - watching him in pre season and against City and WBA he looks like he has been there for years.

Our squad IS stronger than last year and SAF works with these guys day in and day - and he thinks they are good enough, I trust then that they will be.

The energy and tempo of the team is way up from last year - and much more like a typical United team.

Does everyone forget how competely they dominated City in the Community Shield?

City will challenge - they HAVE to. Chelsea too.
Liverpool will improve but still lack the quality to win the league. Arsenal NEED to buy or risk dropping off the pace.

Have faith and focus on what we HAVE, not waht you THINK the others have.

Ola my friends RAINFISHTROMBONE hear in Spain where i must tell you the weather is fabulous. That does not mean that my heart is not in rainy Manchester and all things United. It looks like things are happening with the Glazers but I am not sure what they will do with the money they raise from the share issue. Everyday i search the back pages of the English press looking for the big midfield star you all told me we would buy but as of yet nothing. And all that Ronaldo money just sits there or does it. When you have the kind of debts those Glazers have both here and America you have to get money from somewhere.

Good to see people getting all giddy over Citeh who have played one game against a bunch of promoted nobody´s . Though it would have been good to see United buy Nasri. I will be back in England next week to carry the fight to those American scum. You keep knocking us but i think maybe they are worried. Adios my Amigo´s RAINFISHTROMBONE {Ed007's Note - See you soon RFT, enjoy your holiday.}

Whats so depressing is that fact that sh**y, chelski, lfc has strengthened is continuing to strengthen. I honestly think we won't win the league this year if we dnt improve our middle. 2nd or third is what im looking at. I know you'll are probably saying this guy is deluded and a total farce. But look at the competition, the other top teams are going to come hard. The squad that we have now who to say we won't end up like arsenal with young prospective talents? I know SAF is the best and I should have faith in him which I do but honestly if we dont get a world class midfielder its going to be a worrisome season. Blast me if you want, but remember i said it.

Splash the cash get nasri/modric/sneijder either one with an addition of a DM in the likes of tiote or lass diarra. Blast me if you want, the truth nomally hurts.

It seems as if United do not have a back up plan if the don't get Sneijder as they are willing to wait until the last day of the season to get him according to The Sun. Would this be because they are confidant of sealing the deal or are they just not willing to spend money on a 'back up' option?

Hi Ed
I wanna say, football-rumours sites are the best and the most updated. I have been following since the last Jan transfer. I tell you, the off-season or transfer period has never been this exciting. Thanks mate.

What I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ve noticed is that, United rumours has been the busiest and the most updated than any of the other rumours sites. Does this mean-
1. United has the most number of fans and everyone wants to share what?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s going on with her business.
2. Rumours from other clubs site are not that updated because if a particular club wants a player, they show the money and the deal is done, short and quick. No time for rumours.
3. As Gill had mentioned, "this transfer is gonna be the busiest", United have linked up with many players (and backup players) and so are the rumours.
4. United have brought in players (De Gea, Young, Jones) which they needed to replace (VDS, Scholes, Gary). Now they are just playing in the market and see if they get lucky.

So Guys, Which option would you go for? You are welcome if you have a better scenario.

GoEzManUnited {Ed002's Note - The Liverpool site has significantly more posts that the MU site - and the Arsenal, Rangers and Celtic sites have similar posts.}

The red shirt is put on
As the season has just begun
Rooney scores the the first,
& Ashley ensures the game is won

The future is looking brighter
With the youngsters filling the shoes
Spurs are our next victims
But the lack of creativity is the news

Is it Schneider, Goetze or someone else
Till Sept 1st we will have to see
Nasri wants to join the Red Devils
He would sign, if it were up to me

SAF your truly very busy
But can ye, read my request
Cheaper, younger and talented
Compared to Wesley,Nasri is the best

We can win the league with the squad we currently have. We can run away with the league and have a good chance against Barca if we add one more player (one Dutch CM for example). I like Cleverly, Anderson and Pogba, and I am one who really likes what Fletcher and Carrick add to the team, but it wouldn't be bad to have a world class player to help for 3-4 years as the youngsters continue to develop and gain experience. I also like how Sneijder can be used in a conservative European away 4-5-1 behind Rooney, with Park and Valencia on the wings and Anderson and Carrick/Fletcher as holding midfielders. The way Ashley Young adds flexibility to our lineup, Sneijder could do so as well, especially in Europe....

Ed, need a question answered. When United went private a decade ago I was thrilled as I felt that the flaws of public ownership (slow business dealings in the transfer market, transparency that other clubs aren't required to have) were hurting the club. Obviously Im happy if the Glazers are eliminating the debt at the club, but I'm concerned we'll be back to public negotiations over any purchases. Can you explain what situation this bond sale will likely result in? With a public share of the club out of their control, do the Glazers still have the ability to conduct deals as they wish or will any deal go back to the weeks-long agony that is a publicly traded club? Thanks.... {Ed002's Note - Selling a proportion of the club will require additional accountability (to the investors) but should make little or no difference to the club in the short term. I don't want to get dragged too far in to the financial discussions, but I think you may be worrying more than perhaps you need to.}

Ed002,
You seem to know something regarding the takeover talks, if we are looking to float 25-30% of the club in Singapore how would this include a Qatari or Kuwaiti investor as surely this would mean that the Glazers will no longer have a controlling stake in the club? and i cant see a investor from the middle wanting to me a "minority" stake holder, i can see the glazers keeping 25% or so just so their still involved with the club.
I know a bit about how finances of a company work and about a IPO but do you think there is any benefit for both parties (Glazers and the new owner) to change ownership of the club part by part through a stock market instead of just the 2 parties doing a straight deal? (I mean the glazers would slowly issue shares with the new investor buying them up slowly).
Glazerfree {Ed002's Note - I don't know anything about a Qatari or Kuwaiti investor. If 30% of the club is floated on an Asian stock exchange then the Glazers still maintain control. This will provide the funds to clear the debts saving interest payments for the club. Without knowing the provision of the bonds themselves I don't know what the penalties may be for paying them off earlier than scheduled. There would never be a sale of the business to a single owner via a floatation. I suspect you may have misunderstood something somewhere down the line about Qatari owners. If you are thinking of who I think you are, then they have pushed their money into PSG. The cost of any floatation would be very significant (perhaps £50M and up) and those costs will need to be picked up as well.}

I have an idea...

What if, we as United supporters do exactly that, support United. now i know it sounds crazy but it just might work.

we all have our own ideas & suggestions but we seem to think we know more than a man who was playing football with the T-rex in Sir Alex.

Oh, and my team on FM is this:

GK: De Gea
RB: Rafael
CB: Jones
CB: Vidic
LB: Fabio
RM: Toni
CM: Sneijder
CM: Fletcher
LM: Nani
FW: Rooney
FW Hernandez

I had the usual on the bench, Cleverley, Anderson, Carrick, etc along wit Begovic, Barton, Nolan and Davies (Couldn't resist). And i finished 3rd, behind City (2nd) and Fulham (1st - I'm struggling with it too)... point is I couldn't win the league with sneijder what makes anyone think he'll make a difference? I won it the previous 2 years without him ;D. This is a sign me thinks.

Now i'm off to make myself a drink, This Moon isn't working tomorrow so he's got all night and day to topple fulham :).

The Moon.
