Do you really believe we will sign anyone this window?
Just watched the Ars 8-2 game an can definatly see what SAF is saying by we dont need to panic buy.
with Clevs on the verge of a return, young on his way back. everything during the 8-2 win over ars and the few games around that result came through clevs and young.
I feel if we can get these 2 fit again with the addition of scholesy for the remainder of the season we will be lifting number 20 come may.

Wellbeck has done
nothing yet to justify his stance ! Devil Dust.

Come on DD. You gotta know agents take the driving seat. Even with rooney. Deep down you gotta know that was agent agitating. These are footballers who just wanna play they leave the financies to other people . Not wake up one day and say i'm gonna get me a pay rise and this is how i'm gonna play it. Agents work those angles. Sometimes the agents mess up push it too much. Agents play it like the clubs dissing the said players worth. They don't really want you enough son. We can get you better somewhere else. Where they appreciate you. Of course they do they make the money on the movers. Is this not badly obvious it plays like this? My bet is welbeck just wants to play football at the club who grew up in and would be happy with what ever the club offered. Same with pogba and morrison. The real villians are the agents. ..constantine..

Just wanted to thank the Man United fans for supporting the Anne Williams Hillsborough enquiry. A young man went to watch a game and never came home, so sad.

Magnificent contribution, many many thanks...despite football rivalry Manchester did us proud!

which five clubs would people choose to play a la liga vs epl match.

who would you pick to play,

barca
real madrid
valencia
levante
bilbao

?

i would go for city to play barcalona
us to play madrid
tottenham to play levante
arsenal to play valencia
and chelsea against bilbao

although stoke vs barca was very tempting

Personally I think Welbeck demanding 60k a week is bit of a joke again this is a guy that thinks he has made it already !
How many games has he actually started for the club how many goals has he scored ? he is barely even into double figures he is still unproven and has in reality done nothing yet and won nothing yet for this club.
I dont blame United getting p1ssed off with these kids demanding x y and z when they have done absolutely nothing.
I would offer whatever United think is fair and tell him to run and jump if its not enough Welbeck is taking the p1ss and should be made an example of take whats being offered or get out !

And dont be saying he is an england international he a few caps ffs franny jeffers was an england international too ya know...Wellbeck has done nothing yet to justify his stance !

I think come 2012/2013 we will have new no.7 and no.9

But we wont spend....i can see Wellbeck as no.9 and Morrison as no.7

What do you all think?

Ok, just thinking lads, Ravel Morrison is starting to dominate headlines again, do you think United will sell abroad and arrange a situation much like the Romeu/Barcelona/Chelsea arrangement?
So if we did sell to a team like Roma then we could could pull that arrangement off surly?

So lads, what are we thinking at the moment?
We're getting rid of an awful lot of players - now I know the bulk are fringe/youth players but does anyone else think is a bit mental?

We're struggling with injuries as it is, and it simply does not look like we're going to sign ANYONE in this window?

So what could be the logic behind preparing for the 'final charge' of the season by making our squad even thinner on numbers when we're struck by injuries already?!

Or could there be something going on behind the scenes? For Man United, we've been linked to very few players this window, compared to others - and we know how SAF likes to do his business on the sly.

ravels tweated rubbishing the city story says would never think of them. Fingers crossed he's signing soon. pogba for me is the worry, he'd throw his career away if he went to italy. And welbeck is worth the sixty a week he is an international player after all. Maybe that the reason for the mini clear out get some dead wood off the wage bill and use the savings for new deals?

whats the maximum amount we have paid in transfer fees for a single player? Is it around £31M or so?
Alot of people seem to think united dont have the finances to buy players but the £50M+ spent on players and the fact that we were a whisker away from signing sneijder just 6months ago would suggest otherwise.
I think people are looking at things from the wrong perspective. Personally, i believe money is usually available for sir alex to buy players, but i also believe there are restrictions on the amount that can be spent in terms of transfer fees and wages.
These caps/limits placed on wages and fees have probably become obsolete in today's inflated transfer and wage markets. As a result, united are now unable to attract or compete for real top quality players.
I guess you re wondering what these limits are? Well....am not sure about the current wage limit after the rooney saga. Even so, am left wondering whether united would accept to pay anyone £180k a week, even though that player is undoubtedly world class.
As for the transfer limit, am guessing its somewhere around £30M with slight breaches when sir alex really wants a player e.g berba and ferdy.
Does anyone see united paying £40M+ for a player? I dont, not even if sir alex was given as much £100M to spend on players.
6 or 7years ago, these limits were very adequate, but now with the massive injection of finance in clubs across europe, this may no longer be the case.
I get that united are to protect shareholder value, but we need to move with the times or get left behind.
I hope the situation changes once the debt is cleared up.
Btw, i was reading this interesting article comparing united and arsenal's financial situation. For those obsessed with finance

I know it's a little early for predictions but this is the way I see Sunday panning out.

If Miguel plays LB for Arsenal then Toni will just kill him all day and pump balls into the box all day. So I can see at least 2 or 3 goals coming from there.

however, I can see Van Persie netting and Henry doing the same seeing as he loves a goal against us.

I'm assuming we'll go with Welbeck sitting up top with Rooney in behind with Carrick and Giggs CM, with Nani on the left.

My actual prediction is 3-3.

We'll smash their defence but I think they'll do the same to us unfortunately.

Just my opinion.

A lot of people here believe SAF does not have a lot of money to spend, yet he uses the 'no money in the market-place' excuse.
If his hands are tied by the Glazers, is he not powerful enough to stand up to them and tell people the truth?

On the other hand, would people agree that if he indeed have money to spend, and his 'no money in the market-place' was genuine, wouldn't that mean he is failing as a manager and should be replaced. (Anyone who doesn't agree has only to remember him playing Giggs in the midfield against the best passing team in world football in the CL Final, bringing back a 38 year old after six months out, etc, etc)

Thoughts anyone.

All things considered im disappointed to say the least, since June 2009 when we sold Ronaldo for 80m we havent even spent the 80m in the time there after, unfortunately thats the ownership of the club for you and i feel they will slowly kill united. I would love to see a couple marquee signings and i pray we will, if this does happen id have to plump for goetze / eriksen / hazard i like all thses players.

Out of curiosity do you think we should sign 1 or 2 cebtral midfielders? I think 1 is sufficient. Rodwell, Barkley or Martinez are my main three picks, all good players, time to develop, time to become great players. Supplement one of those with a talented new number 7, Vadillo? Ocampos? Hazard? And throw in a new number 9 who is class and you have a perfect team!

Nigel De Jong fails to agree a new deal and could leave in the summer.

Would not be a bad signing on a free!

why would we go for a right back over another position?

if its gona be a defender it'll be a center back in my opinion.
