There're reports that Andreas Perreira have rejected contract renewal offer. Is it true Ed. ?
{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}
Use our rumours form to send us manchester united transfer rumours.

Right now it looks like LvG is using the 1st half to test and get the team used to his 3-5-2 formation and then when that fails to yield any result he switches to 4 at the back to make sure we get the points.
Right now?
He's been doing that practially all season, stubborn ain't he.
19 Jan 2015 09:36:08
Open appeal to LvG:
Please stop playing Rooney in deep MF. Restore Rooney to AMF/Striker role!
Signed,
A hopeful fan!

Here here!
He will keep on doing it until either the players get it right just so it proves he was right OR he gets sacked.
LOL
We could have 80,000 at OT sing it but LVG does not care.
Watch this space as he will get booed by the fans if this continues much longer with out yielding results specially with the table tightening up.
Beating leicester this weekend at home should not be seen as a sign of things working but let's see how we/he prepares us for West Ham away.
I would be gobsmacked if we beat Leicester this weekend.
Always a Joker Danny :)

If any fans start booing they will be in the minority. Embarrassing.
19 Jan 2015 19:53:56
If we don't let in any more than three, Danny, I'll consider it a moral victory.
GCU, 80000 singing it? How would that happen then? Or maybe we have 4000 bi-polar fans? lol
As long as no one starts flying planes over OT

All this talk of changing LVG is pointless. He will change if he wants to change, Barcelona and Bayern have both experienced this.
All we can do is give our all to the team we love when he puts those 11 men on the pitch.

Arsenal might of found a bit of form, very good in there last 2 games.
Southampton continue to play well and pick up points .
If uniteds form doesn't improve we could miss out on 4th place
19 Jan 2015 09:23:13
And if my uncle was called Sandra he would be my auntie. Nothing like a bit of optimism to start off my Monday morning.
How about if City's form doesn't improve we will be 5 points behind them soon?
Strange game yesterday, City smacked it into the box so many times and after ricocheting off 3-4 players it never fell to a City player. Sometimes it's not your day and it wasn't City's day yesterday. They dominated Arsenal, but just couldn't get a break. Still, it's always good to see Kompany and Joe Hart upset. Arsenal always manage to make the top four. I expect them to this time round too.
Southampton seem to have the knack of recovering from a loss. They could certainly be a threat this season. They may have a little wobble over the next month with the injuries, but if they can get their best players back fit quickly, they will be a threat for sure. They are not particularly an attacking threat like Liverpool last season, but they organise well.
MU have to pull the finger out. I think we will nip in ahead of Southampton, but unless the manager stops being so egotistical and stubborn and we start playing Falcao and Herrera regularly, we may miss out. Falcao looked good in the last game, he needs regular games and goals will flow. Herrera adds speed and is our only dynamic midfielder. He must play IMO. ADM must play in midfield.
Arsenal showed they can play differently yesterday, it has taken Arsene a long time to change. I just hope LVG realises that if Wenger is prepared to adjust tactics then there really is no excuse for him.
Our key rivals are finding form, players are settled, systems understood (Liverpool, Arsenal & Southampton all have key players injured as well). It's concerning, I won't bother repeating what I said the other day but we do not look anywhere near right.
Syd
I would agree with all that
Gds
Lol grow up
Beast, looking at Liverpool's remaining fixtures and also that they will be playing in the Europa/League Cup/Fa Cup. They have an uphill task at best IMO. Our fixtures and fixture congestion (or lack of it) is far more favourable, but we will need to improve for sure. Liverpool have been able to steady the ship with a couple of easy games which they won 1.0, but it's going to get much more difficult for them now. I'd be very surprised if Liverpool finished top four. For me Spurs, Arsenal and Southampton are bigger threats to us. I have to agree that we haven't looked great, even with our good run of results we had games where we were stumbling through. IMO the manager is making it harder than it needs to be. Play our best players in their best positions and everything should be fine. Continue this formation where players are struggling to adapt, continue leaving our best players out and we will struggle inevitably leading to an LvG sacking. LvG IMO is making it harder than it needs to be. I am not turning against him or slagging him off so to speak, but I do feel he is preventing us from making that extra step better. Just my opinion of course.
Syd
I think our biggest problem is lvg, for the first time in a while our starting 11 looks strong but some odd decisions by the manager imo .
I can't see liverpool making top 4 .
Southampton have a chance and maybe the easier run in from now.
Arsenal are starting to find a team and look good at the moment they could finish strong.
Spurs could be dark horses
The squad we have should finish 3rd imo but i haven't see a massive improvement over the season and unless we improve from now we might just miss out .
I think we should replace LvG even if we make the top four. If someone like Klopp became available, I would try my best to persuade him to come to Manchester. I would say thank you to LvG for settling the ship somewhat and then look to the future. Klopp for me would be an excellent choice, but I'd imagine Barcelona and others would want him too.
Syd - I am most concerned about Arsenal & Liverpool. Markovic is adding a spark, Sturridge is due back, Coutinho & Sterling can be different class. They have been awful at the back, but they seem to be getting better now. Arsenal have been really unlucky with injuries fortunately for us, but again going forward they look very good.
Spurs are a bit like us, you don't know what you are going to get from one game to the next but there isn't any real pattern to their play - like a bunch of strangers still - but they are fitter and look sharper with far inferior players on paper.
Southampton - toss a coin for me, even West Ham, who like Southampton have no Europe.
When you think we brought in ADM & Falcao
Arsenal - Welbeck & Sanchez Chelsea - Fabregas & Costa
Spurs - Kane & Mason (youth)
Southampton - Pelle & Tadic
Liverpool - Balotelli & Markovic
City - ?
Its pretty amazing we aren't doing anything substantive going forward. Pre season our 2 key new recruits you would choose out of all of them typically. I appreciate Chelsea did well of course. Our tactics are the route of all evil, as most of us say now. We are giving a lot of clubs a big chance to beat us to it, it's ridiculous.
Beast, I think you are correct in regards to Arsenal, but Liverpool still look very average, even when they are winning. I suspect 5th or 6th beckons for them. They couldn't have played Sunderland and Villa at a better time.
Our defence is holding us back IMO. LvG doesn't have any faith in them to play with two CBs. If we had an Hummels or Otamendi or both, we would have an extra man in midfield and therefore we would be better in attack.
The old debate about Liverpool goes on, I said three months ago, that they cannot be written off. They have the players to finish top4.
Agree on many of the points, but I still feel that if LVG can start playing with the right system, then we will finish top 4. If he sticks with the rubbish formation he is using, then we are knackered.
I think it is important to tie down Falcao to a permanent deal as that will have a calming influence on him and the team. He is a fantastic player and is getting in the right positions, it is only a matter of time before he clicks.
Also, LVG has to play our strongest midfield, Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera. These three should be starters.
In front, we can have Di Maria and Rooney behind Falcao. This team will have lots of attacking threat and pace.
19 Jan 2015 14:16:31
Oh, NM, you've fairly changed your tune about, 'the wig'! Part of our strongest midfield now? ;)
19 Jan 2015 16:18:27
How much would you love to see Carrick, Herrera, Di Maria in midfield with Rooney at the tip of the dimaond then Falcao and Wilson starting up front. Lots of pace, skill and creativity in there. Back four of Rafa, Smalling, Rojo and Shaw. The sad thing is we could do that, and that is a very good attacking team but it just wouldn't happen. So frustrating.
Beast
Arsenal are getting have walcot and ozil back and wilshire shortly. They are by far a better team than Liverpool. They also go on a run in second half every year.
Sounds good Oswald apart from I would have Rooney/Falcao upfront and mata behind them.
I know mata is slow at times and lightweight but with ADM and Herrera in there with him they seem to play well together.
Syd
I completely agree with LVG making it harder than it should be. I reckon he has cost us 5 or 6 points with some terrible decisions but his reputation is shielding him form getting abused by the media and fans.
I am just lost for words how he cannot get our group of attacking players to put teams to the sword or at least create multiple, multiple scoring opportunities.
JRED
I posted yesterday that arsenal are going to be there as wenger knows how to get them into the top 4. Winning at city was a huge result and they will be full of confidence with almost a fully fit squad for the first time this year.
Nomid
Liverpool are improving but a bit like and a howler at anytime in any given week. Being 5 points out and their inconsistency and number of teams above them, I am sure they will not make top 4 year.
{Ed004's Note - They also have a lot of games coming up so any injuries and liverpool will struggle. Though Sturridge returning is massive for them}
Ozwald
The best form of defense is attacking. Kill teams off early by scoring a few and kill their belief and spirit.
Our lethargic setup gives almost every team some hope as we can't put any meaningful pressure on them and they can win the game by nicking the odd goal.
Ed004
Sturridge will not be enough IMO and he is very hit and miss and Suarez made him look better.
{Ed004's Note - I disagree. I think what liverpool are missing most is a clinical striker atm}
Noucamp. You're right, but he's the only choice we have. Buy pogba and we'll never see wig in a United shirt again.
Cgu, you might be right about the scousers. But i just feel that they are picking up pace now and we ate the team looking like dropping points at any tome.
20 Jan 2015 17:30:37
Fair enough, but last season you'd rather have played with 10 men, than play him :)

Just a quick one Utd Road, I put your post on the Other page, as it got to be a lengthy reply to the question you asked. With your post being a longer one too, I thought that might be the best place for it. We try and keep banter lighter, and I am not sure that it will be a lighter tone to some of the replies as it is an issue that seems to be really splitting the Utd fans right now!}
Thanks Ed001 and I appreciate the comments and love the site.

Anybody read what Kanchelskis said after watching us against Southampton. I did not realise he was sitting next to Fergie and I am sure if he could say it to the press, he would have said a few choice words during the game to Fergie too.
Interesting statements he made and whilst in no way I agree with him about sacking LVG, I do agree that he will not win us anything with his approach and the team he wants to build.
Most people need to realise that his success at Bayern is in a league that has a David/Goliath set up. The PL with the likes of Chelsea, City, Arsenal is a different league.
I have said for a while his success at bayern is debatable
