We all know next week is going to be so difficult, but please Jose don't park the bus, let the reigns off and go at them, show passion and drive, if we lose, we lose but just make us proud of our team performance. I would hate to park the bus and lose a late goal and get slated again for negative football. The first half yesterday (opposition aside) was great to watch so get at them early and strong and go for goals there poor at the back, yet again another chance for Pogba to step up to make his mark and show if he is a world class player.

If we get beat, I hope Jose and the players take a good hard look at the celebrations, and remember it.

Great win for spurs today. Barring a massive collapse it looks like the top 4 are sorted.
Will hazzard courtoise stay again without cl football tough summer ahead for Chelsea.
We have our work cut out for us in our semi final v spurs. let's hope we can replicate yesterday's 1 st half more often between now and the end of the season.

I agree ken, I don’t see the top 4 changing now. I thought Spurs were pretty ordinary in the first half but stepped up in the second, Alli was anonymous in the first half but then pops up with 2 goals. Chelsea do seem to yo-yo, they don’t seem able to put 2 good seasons together.

And I think we’ll take Spurs.

Important for us to finish top 3 so that we go straight into the main draw and don't have to travel to some European backwater at the beginning of next season to qualify.

Top 4 won't change now imo .
City been magnificent but who's done the best with there squads resources etc poch Jose klopp?

No epl team has to qualify next season all go straight into the draw.

Thats a good question jred and can't really be answered until the end of the season. I still think 2nd 3rd 4th could finish in any order to be honest. We have a little gap that allows one defeat. But i think even if we drp 7 points between now and the end of the season we are likely to finish 2nd which i think would be a great improvement.
In terms of points i think jose is getting nearly as much as he can from this squad. I think we could play better football but nobody argues with that.
Klopp has what's been described as the best front three in europe as his disposal which i personally think is nonsense but he has spent more than jose this year and is doing no better points wise. Kieta could be a big player for them but i don't see salah having as good a season next year.
Spurs are very close to being a very good team. If they keep all their players and coach and get off to a flyer in their new stadium they could launch a great run at the title next season.
Conte will be smoother victim of abramovic and the Chelsea system. Its a really well run club in so many aspects but for some reason they seem to be doing a high low season after season. Leading to coaching and player changes.
If ww finish second we have over achieved imo if we finish 4th its probably about par for our squad.
No glory in finishing 20 points behind the winners but fair play to city they have been great this season and imo in sane silva and kdb they have the 3 best players in the league this season ahead of salah. Great team.
They have set a new benchmark and we have to rise to that challenge. Its what separates the winners from the also rans. i'm sure the board and manager have a plan. The beginning of next season could well be disjointed due to players coming back late from good world cups. So a hot startc.

Too early to tell jred top 6 all still playing for trophies . In the league arsenal and Chelsea will be disappointed at their league campaigns, spurs and Liverpool get a lot of pat's on the back but never win much although to be fair they are still alive in different competitions so my comment is premature . With utd even joses biggest critics have to accept he's improved results but even his biggest fans may have to accept sometimes it's like watching a team play with the handbrake on for no obvious reason sometimes. City have been fantastic, but it has frustrated me a bit the amount of times I've seen them and their opponents have offered nothing but blanket defense which has rarely achieved anything but keep the score down . I can only think of Liverpool off the top of my head who I've seen have a go at them, worked once and they payed the price once . The last few champs leagues games with city should be interesting as some of those teams left may be far more willing to attack city . I think you need to ask that question in may jred.

I don't think individual Liverpool have the best 3 strikers in Europe.
But only the psg front 3 have scored more than them and that's in the cake walk that is the French league.

The facts don't lie so credit to klopp imo that is a manager getting the best out of what he has.

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Apr 2018 11:29:57
I think the way klopp approaches it can be refreshing but at the end of the day they are even further behind city than we are, they are a team that costs more than you first think they cost . I think teams like pool and spurs look like they are making steady progression towards something but then the likes of utd, city and Chelsea hit the transfer market hard and just bypass them . If there's any serious challenge to city next year I think it's more likely to come from utd if we hit the market hard . Sooner or later spurs or pool will land a cup but catching city in the league is unlikely for them, utd to are way off city but are maybe more able to make the jump with their financial power .

“I still think 2nd 3rd 4th could finish in any order. ”
Priceless. 😂

Three things are for certain.

Second will be second.
Third will be third.
And I’d put money on 4th being 4th all day long.

😂.

There are 10 games until the end of the season so we will talk about it then.

I'll be happy if you leave Paul, its not as though you give a toss about playing for us, seems like it's just a Saturday jog about for you.

First time poster on the page, but have followed it for years as the most accurate and reliable around. Looking back old videos and one comes to mind, ronaldo clips v Portsmouth. Look at the players in the tunnel. Ronny, Rooney, Scholes, vidic, Ferdinand. Where are we as a team now, no leaders or stand out world class players in terms of current form. A few with potential. But one worry is the focus, in that tunnel before the game, all looking ahead, concentrating on the task ahead. No laughing, joking, cuddling the opposition. We used to have a team of professional stars. The anount of players now just filling jerseys is shocking. And we were the team to envy, now our targets and low. A Watford midfielder. Why not Casemiro or kroos. A defender target, go get the star players, a variance etc. Set the bar high where it used to be! A forward. we get Lukaku, currently one of our best players, but would rather a lewendowski or dybala, we have the cash, we need the status. We used to see a player and sign him, no media fanfare, not protracted negotiations. If your the best we will have you and pay you. Sorry for the rant, but was on a stag and took in the city v Everton game yestaerday. And we are slipping years behind them.

01 Apr 2018 10:37:52
We used to see a player and sign him. Gascoigne, Shearer and Ronaldinho all turned us down.

Lukaku has smashed it this season but you'd rather have Dybala or Lewandowski.

No world class players in form? So you don't rate de Gea then.

And just because a player comes from a club like Watford doesn't mean that they're no good. Our best signings of the Ferguson era came from Leeds and Nottingham Forest. Players rarely leave an elite club for another elite club at their peak.

Now having got out the way what I disagreed with I do actually agree we lack leaders compared to previous teams. Lukaku looks like he is developing into one. Sanchez once fully settled could be another. Pogba if he grows up could be. Bailly also is a leader. But we do need more.

Agree11 Disagree9

01 Apr 2018 11:49:16
Podba is no leader my friend, take that thought away from your head, Lukaku? Could be, Bailly? Maybe. I think Mata is a good leader and good role model to the new younger dancing, social media addict generation. We do need a Roy Keane in that dressing room that's for sure.

Agree5 Disagree1

01 Apr 2018 18:08:15
Blimey Mort, that’s not exactly a warm welcome to a new poster is it?

Dave, see what you are saying but I think much of our success was built on buying a mixture of lesser known players or ones with huge potential. I’m always worried when we buy “superstars”, we’ve had a few failures when we have done it. As for leaders you are spot on, we are sadly lacking.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Apr 2018 18:15:57
Oh please get over yourselves with the Roy Keane generation BS. That era is long gone. I don't get why people obsess over players posting dance videos and fancy hand shakes during matches. Its a freaking game. Its meant to be enjoyed and players like Lingard enjoy it. Pogba likes to have his hair done. So what? I can understand if he comes in with a different cut every matchday and plays like a pub team midfielder. Truth is even at his worst he's still better than most epl midfielders I watch every week.

The game has changed. City don't have Roy Keane and they are on course to break almost every other league record. What we need is to move with the times. Play attacking football, which can only happen with a modern manager. Not one clearly in decline and still relying on tactics that probably were effective 5 years ago, but not anymore.

PS Lukaku has been awesome andd I hope Pogba one day becomes captain of the team full time, rainbow hair or not.

Agree4 Disagree5

02 Apr 2018 01:51:52
Yeah, but Pogba has been rubbish for Man Utd so who cares what his hair looks like?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - would you rather Pogba went and got his hair cut or spent his time down the pub getting hammered like the Keane generation did? People forget Pogba does not drink alcohol, so he fills his time with haircuts and instatwitbook rather than knocking back 20 pints down the pub after training. I think, personally, the club should be getting more community work out of him, remind him of how crap life can be for the rest of the world that don't earn mega money kicking a bag of wind around. Then you might see a change in his attitude. As it is though, you can't really complain about the hair cuts as it is better for a professional athlete than getting bevvied. I would have far more worries about players who get tattoos during the season myself, as that is a health risk.}

02 Apr 2018 14:43:10
Yeah I was a bit harsh.

To the other fella. Ok I agree with the ed hairdressers is better than the pub. But if he's got too much time on his hands how about staying behind at training for another hour. Or as ed said doing some community work. Look at evra popping into hospital the other day.

Silly dances is all well an good if they were u21 players having a laugh. They're not though they're grown men in the mid 20s. No ones saying don't have fun but it comes across as they don't take it serious enough.

The reason most of us talk about Keane or Robson is simple. Go watch Robson vs Barcelona or Keane vs Juventus and then look at our squad and see if we have a player like that with that strength of character to grab a game and carry us through. A player who leads by example.

City don't have one because they haven't needed one as the whole league has rolled over for them.
