Does anyone think the reasons Woodward came back from the tour was because of the Ronaldo situation? At the time it was because apparently because of imminent transfer dealings, but nothing has been heard about his actions since or his whereabouts! And as we all know, no transfers have happened in or out. Maybe this August 8th rumour isn't so far from the truth

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2013 23:35:17
Just to chip in on the Ronaldo situation, to be clear Madrid have a net spend of about £8m at the moment, they can buy bale no problem without needing to sell Ronaldo. If he does come back I think it will be next year.
However if Madrid go in for Suarez as well as bale, only then will I believe Ronaldo could come home.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They're actually closer to £7m at the moment - but it all comes down to what their budget was at the start of the window.

If they end up selling Modric for £30m and throw in a player or two as part of the Bale deal bringing it down to the £50m mark (Di Maria, Alonso, Morata and Khedira could all be surplus to requirements) then a net spend of £27m seems pretty reasonable given that they've net spent around £214m over the previous four years. They're also entitled to 50% of any deal for Garay which could bring in another £9m.

Even with Suarez at £45m - £72m is nothing compared to their net spend of £150m in the 09/10 window!

redseven

Agree0 Disagree0

Redseven, it doesn't really work that way in all seriousness. It's far more complicated than that. RM when buying players will need to not just pay transfer fees, but signing on fees, agent fees, tax on agent fees, relocation costs etc etc. Tax on transfer fees which is reclaimable. When selling players they would have needed to pay 5% loyalty bonuses to the players and that comes out of the transfer fees. Then you need to consider RM buy their players in installments over a number of years, clubs buying players could do the same, then there's the potential add-on clauses. Then there's loan fees RM would receive when loaning their players out. In reality RM would have spend more than £7m net. Have you put Suarez down as possibly going for £72m? Or have I misread? Real Madrid would need to pay around £40m for him which they are refusing to pay right now. £2m of which would go to Suarez as a loyalty bonus ironic as it sounds. Arsenal would need to pay higher of course, not sure they will do though. Not sure RM will be desperate to sell Ronaldo this summer, but next summer may be different if they still haven't given him a new contract. They will need to pay him around £36m for his final season of contract and they will not want to lose him for free, so he could go this summer, but it's more likely to be next summer especially if he hasn't signed a new deal by then.

David Moyes was at the Swansea v Malmo match tonight. Ben Davies the excellent young left back is a good player!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Surely if we were looking for a young left back we would have gone for Luke Shaw before he signed his contract extension. That kid is class!

First off Luke Shaw is a massive Chelsea fan and he rejected them as he feels he is best suited to staying at Southampton for now but supposedly would be interested in a move to Chelsea in a year or twos time.

Ben Davies would be a very good alternative, but I think it would be a good idea to let him have another season at Swansea as they will european football next season and he'll learn a lot from that.

But like someone elsd pointed out Swansea is a team we will be playing very soon, and more than likely Moyes was watching them to see how they are going to play with their new signings. Bony looks like he is going to be a right handful.

They are our first game. I doubt it was a scouting mission.

Apparently there is news that the ever ongoing cesc fabregas debate is not only a potential target for united but is also a deploy to hide the real reason that Woodward had to from the Asian tour. CRISTIANO RONALDO! It seems there have been ongoing talks to bring the once united hero back to blighty in a mega deal seeing BALE go in the opposite direction for 87million. Real have been pushing this deal quickly to over come the great loss of the fans losing there superstar! Hope this is true folks. mmmm. Ronaldo and Persie. i'm dribbling at the thought!

Ronaldo deal imminent. once Bale signed at Madrid thenUnited will confirm the return of the chosen one dispelling all rumours from the doom and gloomers that we are unable to attract big names. we are getting the biggest name in football back which will start the domino effect of Rooney being sacrificed. the Fab public offers have allowed mr woodward to concentrate on the one deal we all truly wanted this is now being reported in tomorrows D. Christ, its crazy at the minute but it is us and Arsenal who have not done a lot. I have to say this please do not slaughter me, but if Suarez is up for sale do you reckon we might have a cheeky bid if Rooney p""""es off?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How dare you!

Agree0 Disagree0

As good a player as he is I would rather sign nobody and sell RVP, Carrick, Rooney, Vidic and DDG that sign him.

I don't want somebody as Vulgar, self centered and egotistical at out club.

We've had our fair share of OTT players but this gut is a disgrace to Liverpool, the EPL, Uraguay and professional sports.

Does anybody think the targeting process for potential new signings this window was too dependent on the individuals waiting too see what their current club was able to offer them. Granted their would have been encouragement levelled united's way but all the same dependent on too many other circumstances other than a simple offer to play for united?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Whatever happened to Garay? At some point it seemed almost certain he would be signing for us.

We're through to the Milk Cup final and it will be telecast tomorrow. I think it would be great for all of us to watch it and get a look at our youth players coming through. Mitchell and Pereira are almost certainly future first team players. This is what united is all about after all, promoting youth team players when possible so this would be a great opportunity for us to support the club for it's own philosophy and see how we're doing things in the youth set up. I see a certain attempt to emphasize a Dortmund like way of playing.
I'm not sure which channel it's on, only that it will be televised. Perhaps someone can comment with the channel its being shown on?

Dan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Two things;

1) I suggest people watch this, its a great way to see some of the best players in the youth world play.

2) off topic slightly but I hope some of the kids especially some of the 18 year olds get some Cup games next year, especially Will Keane.

Consiracy theory - gan says two bids lined up one larger than the other, could this be Ronaldo and fabregas? Anything further to add due to developments gan? Thanx for sharing info

Two bids, one higher than the other.

Talk about stating the obvious.

Not United related. I'm watching the Bayern vs City game, and you can see the effect Pep has had on this Bayern team. As long as they steer clear from key injuries and they don't get a awful draw then i'd have to say Bayern have to be the favourites to be the first team to retain the Champions league.

City have hardly had a kick, and only a couple of touches in the Bayern half of the field. Although to be fair to them City have been well organised at the back.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Got to disagree shappy pal, I think pep is going to ruin these in Europe. Before do has had a lot of chances here because of bayern a high line, I think ancelotti will guide real to the champions league this year

Not sure how real the MU interest is in this Algerian fella, but someone has said to me he would make a good Carrick replacement/cover. I know this lad is not known to most of you and I haven't seen him play once, but a cheaper option of this kind of midfielder could mean a little more cash to try and secure Cesc. Could be his agent trying to get him a move or a better contract, but let's wait and see.

Afternoon lads

Visit this site everyday also keep up with every transfer gossip possible. Now there seems to be a lot of noise going around about a certain cristiano ronaldo.

Moyes has the perfect opportunity to get us beloved fans behind him by signing without a doubt one of united most loved players, with bale seemingly heading to Madrid, many people are saying this is more a replacement for ronaldo as his future is up in the air, I find it hard to believe that the great one could make a sensational return, but this would be the best transfer window in united history if he was to pull this off, for us to keep up our reign as champions going, then ronaldo for one would help achieve that!

There are 2 signings I believe we need this season
1)ronaldo
2)fabregas

With fabregas and carrick as the two centre midfielders with a front three Infront of them being ronaldo Rooney and kagawa to give plenty of energy and creativity. With last but not least mr rvp in attack

Carrick fabregas
Ronaldo Rooney kagawa
Rvp

Dreams can come true!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They can indeed. We are Manchester united and we should set our sites high. So let's hope it does happen.
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Nomidfield, was that some positivity fella? You are going to have me believing if you carry on like that :-)

I would be happy to stick with Evra/Buttner/Fabio at LB if it meant a summer of Fabregas and Ronaldo coming in as our only transfers. We could really do with a bit more at CM if at all possible, but I'm not greedy :-)

Brendan81

Agree0 Disagree0

That is my dream team. We can win the CL with that team. Finally a real starting xi and not just 11 picked at random from a huge squad. Keeping Rooney is key. Will be happy when this nonsense is over with. Hope the united fans show him some love at rios testimonial so he'll stay. Him ronaldo and kagawa behind rvp with fabregas pushing forward. Prob won't happen but doesn't mean I can't enjoy the dream. -KG

Just got a phone call from Manchester United, seriously. At first I got excited that they finally want to sign me up, but unfortunately it was the Sales team trying to sell me a season ticket (I am a former holder). This follows multiple emails, texts and post regarding the same thing. I asked her if there were still many left and she said yes, but all the cheapest ones have gone. What happened to the days - not so long ago - when there was a waiting list for this due to overwhelming demand? What has changed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As much as we all think that the glazers could do whatever suits and all the fans will turn out, I think they're going to be in for a shock.

last night on the way home and that Caldron fella or whatever his name was, the Ex-Director of football for Real spilled the beans big time. He stated that Ronaldo is not happy with the president of Real and is not willing to sign a contract, he said he wants to leave but it hasn't been issued directly in the media that he has said that. This caldron fella also said that he believes 100% that paying so much for Bale is not because they want to have him link up with Ronaldo but because they want to replace him.

Food for thought.

These are my predictions on this last month of the transfer window (target-by-target).

- Baines: We won't get him, we will not pay the £17 million (or more) that Everton want for him. Buttner, Evra & Fabio will be rotated and given the chances. I want an upgrade on Evra but I'd also be very sad to see him go. This will be his last season though. If Buttner and Fabio can cement a place then we don't need anyone, if not then a left back comes in next year.

- Fellaini: I think that in the end, United is his destination. Even if we wait until January. I think he is Moyes number one enforcer target. If this bid has been put in by an EPL team then I imagine that it is almost definitely by us.

- Ronaldo: As soon as Bale is holding up his new Madrid shirt we will put in the £65 million bid for Ronaldo - this will be accepted and he will be a United player again. I don't think this will happen before the start of the season though, it may take a little longer.

- Fabregas: This all depends on Rooney. If we are to get Fellaini and Ronaldo and then want Fabregas as well, we have to sell. The signs are that Fabregas wants to join and we want to have him. The signs are also that Rooney wants to leave and we are only saying he can't to bump up his price tag.

So, to sum up:

INS: Ronaldo £65 million, Fellaini £22 million, Fabregas £38 million.

OUTS: Rooney £40 million.

We may have to also get rid of someone like Amos to free up another space. In total though it would be about a net spend of £85 million. I'd also give a new contract to Nani who I feel will find his form this year with a clean slate and added confidence.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This, for me, would be a dream. The best summer in a long time. Honestly though, can't see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see Fellaini plus either Ronaldo or Fabregas and keep Rooney if I am honest. All 3 of them are a bit of a stretch.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it will be ronaldo and fabregas with rooney leaving (hoping anyway lol), can't see fellani coming in tbh and I don't think baines will be coming either as he's been over priced

Keyz

Agree0 Disagree0

I will be very surprised if ronaldo leaves madrid.
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not a co-incidence is it that peoples predictions change every month dependant on the press. I really don’t think we are even interested in Fellaini myself think it is just the clause supposedly ending flaming all the talk. Fabregas I just don’t see happening despite obvious and official interest. Ronaldo seems unrealistic but my inner muppet hopes there is some truth in these rumours. I see us now going into the new season with two new signings, one of which will be a relative unknown surprise. The other a name, the way this summer has gone so far I really have no idea who it will be mind you and wouldn’t even want to predict one though I have said all along it WONT be Garay, it won't be Strootman and it won't be Fellaini and I still stick by that.

Reports circling that we are interested in Saphir Taider from Bologna. His agent has apparently stated we are looking at him. Anyone know about him? Just looked on youtube and seems to be very good in the tackle and breaking forward in midfield. Shackled Pogba a few times from what i've seen

Fagan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

First rate from what I have seen and only 21. He has performed very well against the higher teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good on the ball, decent passer, can cover a number of positions across midfield and best played as a defensive midfielder. His tackling is very good though, wouldn't mind seeing him here at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like a very good player who loves to get stuck in. He would be a great addition at around 18-20 million and is only 21.

01 Aug 2013 19:18:30
Simmo, from your response I would say its obvious that you've watched him closely on many occasions.

As I can't see how you as an intelligent poster could dismiss a player as average having never seen him play close up.

So as for once he is a player I know little about maybe you would do me a favour and describe his playing style and abilities to me.

Many thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

"I have been in contact with other clubs, such as Manchester United. I told them if they’re interested then they have to contact Bologna directly"
"If Bologna believes he is really worth €18m, then why are they not paying him what he is worth? He deserves a raise and I will not have done my job if I were not to ask for an improvement in his contract" his agent
Sounds a little like his agent is after a new deal
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Shappy don't insult me telling me that I'm not an intelligent poster.
I watch lots of Italian football and there's a reason why this kid plays for Bologna, not the the big clubs like Juve, Inter, AC, Roma, Napoli etc.
If you don't like what I put on here then there's a simple answer. Don't read it!
If your happy paying 18-20m pounds for an average midfielder in a crappy dull league then more fool you. I'm just glad that your not one of the scouts at our club.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo, the quality of the team around a player doesn't determine how good he is.

Steven Gerrard of old and Suarez are 2 of the best players in the world, and yet they didn't play for a team they deserve.

same goes for Cabaye, Bale, Schneiderlin, Remy and co.

Last season Veratti was playing in serie B and yet everyone on here would be over the moon if we managed to get him.

You do realise that Veratti and Taider are at the same age? He is as good ( if not better ) than Cleverley and Anderson and much younger.

So please hold the nonsense, fact is he is a young player with potential and if we are to get him, it's as a squad player who could improve, same as Zaha. Noone is expecting him to be the new Keane

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo chill mate, re read my post. I actually call you an intelligent poster.

I actually don't watch much itailan football anymore, I used to watch it a lot through the mid 90's to the early/mid 00's. But then it got abit boring and they started to lose their star players.

So I only watch it if i'm looking out for a specific player, and then it only tends to be his teams matches.

Inter, Juve, AC Milan and now Napoli tend to snatch up all the best players playing at other clubs in the league, quite often on co onwership deals. Bonucci and Ranocchia both played at Bologna for a season for example before being snapped up by Juve and Inter.

So I won't dissmiss a Saphir Taider as he may be high on Juve or Inters transfer lists.

Like I said I haven't seen the lad play so I can't give a fair comment on him. that's why I asked you for a a little info on him.

I think i'll have to watch some itailian football this season. I'm intriged to see what kind of player Saphir Taider is and the Moon has asked me a couple of times to check out Pedro Obiang of Sampdoria. So it looks like I have a couple more players on my scouting list for this season.

I'm already supposed to be keeping a close eye on Tonny Vilhena, Bernard, Oliver Torres, Salih Ucan, Florian Thauvin, Moritz Leitner and Leon Goretzka. As well as keeping up with players i've been watching for a season or more such as Koke, Heung Min Son, Julian Draxler, Stephen El Shaarawy, Ezequiel Cirigliano, Adam Maher and Viktor Fischer.

Spurs buying Soldado is a very good move. He is a super striker and very under rated. Though not that young anymore.
Say what you like about Levi, and I don't think any of us like him, but he is superb at securing fantastic deals for Spurs.
Nomidfield

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is a first rate chairman, he always does what is best for Spurs and never let's assets go on the cheap. If he gets 115 million for Bale then in my opinion he could be one of the best chairmen ever (even though I dislike him).

Agree0 Disagree0

How much of Soldado have you seen that amount of money for a 28 year old is 10 mil to much he tends to score his goals in bunches then do nothing for 6 7 games but anyway I suppose he could help them sneak into the top 4

Ruben

Agree0 Disagree0

Imo he is as good as defoe, will get goals but £25m is steep

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah totally agree, I was thinking this the other day, he's a pain in the a** for us or anyone else but he's the reason Tottenham are where they are.

Red Joe

Agree0 Disagree0

Ruben,

someone that scores 30 goals in 46 games outside of real and barca in spain is clearly worth more than 10 million. He also has fantastic movement, decent pace and a good eye for goal. IMO providing he stays injury free he will be challenging aguero and RVP as top gs.

Rumblings that have been posted below are starting to take a turn. I can’t remember the last time Utd have made 3 bids for the same player…let alone them being public ones! Someone must know something about the Fabregas situation and Barca need to take heed hence them looking at Pjanic again (who I would love at Utd too). With Real doing what they are, they are playing catch up.
With the Bale situation and Ron’s saga, surely we must put a bid in there too?
And with Bale and Isco also going into Madrid, I could see maybe a double deal thrown in to try get Di Maria too.
I really do think that we will hear something next week.

Quiet summer so far. Personally I would keep trying to sign Fabregas. Cesc would be perfect next to Kagawa and Rooney. That would be so creative and fluid. Also I would attempt to sign Vidal. A long shot, but Vidal would complete the team and he would be perfect next Carrick. Carrick would have more freedom, and the back 4 would be more solid, and Rafael and Evra would have more freedom as well. Plus Carrick and Vidal would be so solid. Also, who watches the Dutch League. Opinions on Adam Maher, Victor Fischer and Tonny Vilhena, all seem very talented and superb passers. Another thing, opinions on Kurt Zouma, seems a very strong and powerful defender. Finally, I would keep Rooney, top class player, just a bit of a tw*t really. Carrick, Vidal, behind Rooney, Fabregas, Kagawa, all behind RvP would be utterly lethal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Zouma is the best young defender
in world football we must sign him

Morning folks,

I am a bit disappointed with some comments regarding our club and David Moyes.

This is his first year in charge and he definitely wants to win a trophy in his first year than anyone else. I would say that he would want us to win than anyone else on this planet. The guy is in immense pressure but he is holding it with grace. Give him time, he will bring some new players as he has said many times. There is 50/50 chance of getting Cesc Febregas.

United we stand, and don't let some scousers to come here talk rubbish.

This Bale deal certainly does seem to be stirring up the rumour mill. What I really want to focus on is Ramon Calderon's comments - he seems quite sure that Ronaldo will leave. In my opinion we are his only destination. The question is, would we be happy with just Ronaldo or Ronaldo & Fellaini because if we signed him we couldn't get more than one other player in. £65 million for Ronaldo and around £20 million for Fellaini and I would be happy. We could get most of Ronaldo's wages and some of the transfer fee back from the sale of Rooney anyway. Although I cannot help but feel that Ronaldo back would bring the best out of Rooney. We would need to make more sales though. One of Valencia, Young & Nani would have to leave. Nani plays well when Ronaldo is around and Valencia can be a world beater when he is on his game so I would be tempted to sell Young for extra revenue. I would hope that we would keep Anderson as we need numbers and I'd rather have him than have to play Rafael in midfield again when we are short.

A team of De Gea, Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Buttner, Fellaini, Carrick, Ronaldo, Rooney, Kagawa, RVP.

That would be a dream come true I think. We have three left backs to rotate and even if you replaced Rooney with Kagawa and played Nani on the right we would still have the best forward line in the world (in my opinion).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Personally, I would send £100 million to Madrid, and return with Modric, Khedira and Ronaldo. As long as Madrid sign Bale, they replace all those players: Bale for Ronaldo, Isco for Modric, Illaramendi for Khedira. If we sign those players that would be a superb summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo & Fellaini would be awesome.

That would make us favorites for the title IMO. keeping Rooney would be the icing on the cake. So much creativity if we add Ronaldo, get Rooney firing & Kagawa kicks on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fresh! Please think before you post in future!

Madrid sign Bale for 85mil.

Madrid sell Ronaldo for 65mil.

Come on Fresh! Ronaldo is one of the most successful players in Madrid's history at the peek of his game, they signed him for 80 odd mil and you think they'll take a loss of 15mil! Not happening!

Barcelona have great young talent coming through (again). They've also just signed Neymar. Madrid need to keep up! They've signed two young Spanish guys but need a "galatico". Not a replacement for Ronaldo. Messi-Neymar, Ronaldo-Bale.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a lot of the posts miss the point and by several miles.

Madrid's number 1 objective is to win a 10th CL and they will buy (as they have done throughout their history) whoever to achieve this.

Ronaldo may be sold but it will not be this year. Their attacking midfielders will be Ronaldo/Isco/Bale.

So to the person who posted earlier that we have the best attacking midfield. think again person.

Chelski have a better midfield than us:
Oscar/Hazzard/Mata, de Bruyne/Schurlle

Agree0 Disagree0

Any of these players will be great. Personally, Modric/Fabregas and Fellaini/Khadiera and Ronaldo. Will be a dream summer.
This will put us up there in the PL and the CL.
As Gilly says, it will take £100m, but we can recoup a bit by getting rid of Anderson, Young and one of Nani or Valencia.
Come on United, we can do it.
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

If Ronaldo wants to leave then Madrid have no choice in accepting a £65 million bid, because next year that bit will be around £40 million and the year after it will be nothing because he can sign on for free. They would rather take a £15 million loss than an £80 million loss.

Agree0 Disagree0

Article in one of the papers suggesting ancelotti might play ronaldo as a centre forward in front of isco, bale and ozil.

frightening!

Agree0 Disagree0

How would it be a loss? Madrid have long made back that 80m plus profits. If Ronaldo is sold for 15m less they would have still not loss.

Sorry for the copy and paste lads. but words from Marchisio's mouth to an Italian paper sometime in the last few days (Tuttosport or something I believe).

"Obviously, I will not deny that I feel flattered when I see my name being linked with other clubs, including some of the most important and biggest in the world.

"This is proof that I'm doing a good job and that others value what I do. It makes me proud that there are teams that rate me.

"However, I have not talked to anyone and there are no concrete offers. I spoke with Juventus and they told me I'm still wanted. My desire is to stay here and win more trophies.

"Then again, you never know what will happen in football. I would not be the first player to leave his boyhood club. "

I think if he's open to a move i'd probably place him higher on the agenda than Fabregas. The guy's commitment to football is unquestionable and is one of the few players who would instantly improve our midfield. Him, Di Maria and Baines and I would be one happy camper! Also. really think Rooney should be kept, unless we were to get one of Ozil or Reus!

If Moyes pulls off some quality midfield signings I'd be as pleased as anyone, however if he is unsuccessful in securing world class players, I don't think he should turn to mediocre back ups. We already have back up standard players in Ando & Cleverley. I don't think any true fan is expecting this squad to run away with the league or win the CL, due to our main title and European rivals having strengthened their squads.

So if the transfer window passes without top notch signings, I would really love it if DM gave the youngsters a good run in the team. Just look at the young players we have, De Gea, Rafael, Jones, Smalling, Zaha, Januzaj, Lingard, Powell (who SAF said his best position would be in midfield, )Keane, Kagawa, buttner and Hernndez has only just turned 25.

If they are good enough, get them in and blood them alongside the older experienced players and take a leaf out of SAF's 1995 side and always remember, you can't win anything with kids!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I totally agree. SAF did not buy people that he did not think would improve the team. He didn't buy for the sake of it. We have to buy players better than what we already have. If we miss out on those targets though I hope that Moyes turns to the young players and not the old guard like SAF did in his final years. SAF choose Giggs or Scholes time and time again over Pogba and he left and is now starting for Juventus. The youth is the way forward and I think Moyes recognises that more.

Morning all

Bit of a friendly post, I have a 10 month old and all her musical toys play tunes that are (in my eyes) related to United chants!

Starting early and teaching her our words rather than the original lyrics!

Looking forward to the new season, weekends just aren't the same without watching the reds in action.

Hi folks not happy to be honest with posters who say take 40 million for Rooney. I think it would be a massive mistake as your waving bye bye to 20 goals a season plus 10 assists a season. Moyes has said he has no budget but players aren't exactly lining up on mass to join united under moyes. I say remember what Rooney has done for the club, get him fit and right and reep the benefits. Chelsea with Rooney would wipe the floor with united IMO

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree Major, Rooney is still a massive player for us.
When he's fit and playing in the correct position behind RVP he could easily score us 20-25 goals this season Guaranteed if not injured.
If we add Fabregas, Fellaini anjd Baines it would be an ideal summer in my opinion.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree completely, its all well and good saying Rooney should go, but who is big enough at that price to replace him? IMO no-one. Keep Rooney, sign Mirallas and Marchisio and Ill be delighted.

I've long wondered why we all don't try to get together for a pint before a match. I for one think people would have some respect for each other if we could share a pint.

I'm taking my boy to the Community Shield and would fancy a cheeky one pre-kickoff.

Considering our lack of much activity. I feel that we are not looking to add more players. A left back that to in baines only. and a top midfielder or a squad type midfielder is all on the cards. If we fail to get baines. no 2nd option. And a midfielder is comming anyway.

So now we say Saf'S statement fits all.
May be 1 more signing maximum 2 if all stays well.
And the major signing he was talking about is David Moyes himself.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We WILL unveil at least 2 players tomorrow at press con, Baines being one & I think Fabregas AND Ronaldo will be with us when the season kicks off.

Agree0 Disagree0

So what about moyes coming out and saying we are short in midfield and looking to add and have bid for fabregas? We ignoring them things so you can be negative?

Gds2. don't be an person. can't u read? He accpeted we lack in midfield and he is trying to get feb according to your post. so that's 1 signing if we pull it or some other player. si that's 1 in evert case. second being baines he he can be brought for right price.

So there is nothing to be negative about. so stop your rant. and read properly and understand first before u reply.

Alright lads, i'm not claiming to have 'sources' or 'contacts' but. I actually know one of the players from the club, make of it as you will but i'll share what's been said.
Wayne Rooney is staying a manchester United player and will sign a new contract along with Nani come the end August/more likely start of sept. Wayne was upset about the way the media, moyes and woodwood have protrayed the saga. But wayne, his agents and Utd have cone to an agreement to which all are happy.

Baines will arrive end of August for a fee of around £16-17m, he will be offered a 4 year contract and as far as I know an offer has been on the table for over two weeks.

Finally, rumberlings over this side are that fellaini won't be joining Utd. My personal guess would be either of the two newcastle lads (tiote or cabaye) or fab. Honestly don't think fabregas will arrive, the package will not be accepted and Utd won't off 50m for him, just won't happen.

Pab

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tiote wouldn't get in the u21s, he's not even as good as Anderson and probably on a par with Djemba Djemba, who was so bad they named him twice.
Raffa

Agree0 Disagree0

Damn how depressing is this post tiote is always injured and kicks lumps out of people he shouldn't be anywhere near a decent club, cabaye isn't good enough Percy's lovechild gets to steal a living for another 3 years, and Rooney well I can understand keeping him although he's an arse

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't your player friend your source, or your contact?

Boyley

Agree0 Disagree0

Pab

Do you honestly believe that Moyes would buy Tiote?
Come on mate get real, he's had one good season and is nothing more than an average player.
In my opinion Cabaye is very average as well, I just hope Moyes see's him as an average player.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the fact that your friend who plays for the club is going round telling everybody but the press aren't aware of it. Will probably be on the back pages tomorrow as journalists do steal stories from here they have done in the past. If it is true it would be my worst nightmare and what I predicted when it all kicked off. I said Stretford was trying to get Rooney an extended contact at this rate when considering the shape he was in last season and his contribution is ridiculous. But this will suit all p armies and Moyes will claim getting Rooney to pledge his future to United is like signing a world star. The problem is for the little spud headed nipper is that a lot of match going reds are seeing through him and are not appreciating him keep holding the club to ransom.

All of these recent deals being signed by United in their enormously successful global marketing strategy focused on regional deals (Hate the Glazers, not the game, the commercial side has exploded in recent years) have got me thinking. Where is all of the noise about THE BIG DEAL, the Nike kit renegotiations. Dwarfing the GM deal even, this will be the way for United to clear their debt and ensure they continue to out-earn their european rivals despite the obvious disadvantages with spanish tv rights given to the clubs. Yet there's been no talk of the deal despite it being the negotiating window for Nike and United. I obviously hope for the richest deal possible, but i'm also curious about the silence and how it might be related to transfer dealings. Ideally Nike would like to announce the new deal alongside a major signing and United would like to have the signing in the club when the deal is struck as a big time player could easily increase the value of any marketing deal with the club. I know its just summer transfer fever, but perhaps the lull in news could be due to attempts to bring in a headline signing and this whole Bale/Madrid/Ronaldo/United conspiracy comes to fruition. And its my birthday so I know what I'm wishing for when I blow out the candles. (Plus health and happiness for my family and friends of course, i'm not soulless. )

I was reading that we would accept a bid of 40m for Rooney from Chelski. What do you guys think about that? I think it's a good deal for us but hesitant to sell to one of our main rivals. Also, I think he could be the missing key to their team. Thoughts?

Flint

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Considering the length of his remaining contract, its a good price for him, it would also eliminate an overpayed wage which will make way for prob more than two players wages. but I still have doubts about selling him, I feel its possible if he's kept fit and on the right track he's the next captain (leaving myself open for a roasting), we can't deny his ability and on his day he pulls all the strings and on his off day he still puts in a stellar effort up and down the pitch, he will always have star quality and its important we keep that in the squad especially with good young lads coming through.
RedKen

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you seen how difficult it is to buy a world class player even for 40mil? We have one, albeit one who had a poor last few months of the season, and to sell him at all is lunacy in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one would only be happy seeing Rooney go to a top 4 competitor if we land a couple of Stella signings. By that I mean Ronnie and Fabregas. I know that sounds far fetched, but, hey, we can dream.
Antman

Agree0 Disagree0

With KG on this one. All our efforts at signing world class players have not been successful to date. And Rooney, when fit and focused, is a world class player. So why are we so eager to sell him cheaply or when spurs and Liverpool are asking silly money for their star players? More over, why are we selling him at all. We've all seen his commitment on the pitch, not even the most hater of Rooney will argue against that. In a below average season, he scored 16 goals and made a load of assists.
If we sell him to Chelsea, then we should insist on Mata or Hazard as part of the deal.
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

I really don't think we should get rid of rooney! He is quality, albeit not so much in the last few months, but he still scores and greats loads, imo he is the heartbeat in our team. to sell him to a rival (especially one as capable as mouriniho ) would have catastrophic consequences

Let me tell you a story make your own mind up whether you think its true it is off tw*****

December Ronaldo asked for a new contract the president said no you have 2 years to go

Some back and forth Ronny not happy then says to said president I will not sign another contract and when my contract does run out I'll go for free to United.

Supposedly and I'm not sure I believe this United agreed that if he joins on a free in 2015 they will pay 50m all in to ronny and agent

Or he said you can sell me to United this year, to which the pres said if we buy Bale United can buy you this summer for 85m Euros or £65m not sure how those 2 figures equate

Short and long is supposedly Real get Bale we get Ronny there has supposedly been meetings with Joel Glazer?

We can only dream this isn't someone elses wet dream I pass on and no doubt others will repeat same as its from Tw*****
