Another brilliant report tonight from the Spurs blog. It appears that Spurs are willing to pay all of £44m to sign martial. Aren't we the lucky ones! If our deluded manager is seriously thinking of offloading Martial to Spurs, then I'll be asking for erickson and kane and £44m. Unfortunately, i can see us selling him for buttons.

"If our deluded manager" this insinuating he is deluded now? and if so how?

Jose also does not dictate prices for buying and selling.

02 May 2018 20:44:59
I really don't see jose as delluded!

And its more than just a jose decision to sell and for what price.

What do people make of the bailly situation reports today he is looking to leave.
I really like him but hasn't been near the squad for a few games now?

Is it fair to say smalling is Jose first choice cb.

01 May 2018 23:35:57
I hope Bailly stays he looked a lot more accomplished than Smalling. The latter is not good enough against the very best.

Jred it appears a few of the papers have all copied each other, wouldn’t exactly trust the S*n and the metro. Fingers crossed it’s nothin major and we see him back soon.

02 May 2018 08:43:46
Seems odd that he is not playing when fit. Shame about his injuries and he has looked very accomplished imo.

Maybe Jose doesn't fancy him. It wouldn't surprise me if he was moved on, after all isn't that what we do, fork out, play them a bit, sell for much less?

It's our unique churn strategy, keeps agents happy and the club are always in the market to sign players if we are always selling them a year or two after destroying them, (except for full backs, I think Valencia and Young will still be playing in 2028).

02 May 2018 11:48:55
Bailly just needs games to get back up to speed. I don't think Jose wants to give him games at this stage of the season.

Snalljbg has played well. Lindelof has too. I'm sure Bailly will be back in the team with a pre season behind him.

This is the problem when Jose is your manager.

I suspect it's just the normal media anti-United campaign. Slow news day? Well print something about a United player wanting to leave. So far this season Martial, Rashford, Pogba, DDG, Herrera, Darmian, Blind, Fellaini and Romero are all desperate to leave. Now it's Bailly. Some I suspect are keen to leave as they aren't getting much game time, most I suspect is absolute tosh.

For one you can't actually know if someone wants to leave unless they themselves tell you. And there have been no direct quotes from anyone. And trust me if the papers had one they would use it.

Bailly has apparently had a virus over the last couple of games and before that he had a little injury. So I suspect it's a nonsense.

However, Jose does have a habit of falling out with players. His management style is to pick a fight with a player to make the rest stay in line for fear of falling out with him. This nearly always leads to a split in the dressing room, with players eventually not playing for the manager, results go down hill and Jose is sacked.

As such, whenever there is a report that X player wants to leave and isn't happy it could very well be true.

Seriously!?! Sell Lindelof to make sway for Johnny Evans! Noooooooo. 🤪.

So Madrid get through again. Bayern were unlucky but what was apparent was how hard the whole Madrid team worked to defend. Exactly the approach Jose wants from our players. Even Ronaldo who normally stays upfield was back defending when necessary.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

02 May 2018 06:26:21
I thought Madrid were pants. Over the 2 legs Bayern created a lot more chances but couldn’t put the ball in the net, they will be gutted. As for aronaldo he was pretty anonymous on both legs, which I guess proves they are not just a one man team.

Same cheating Turkish ref who admits is a Real fan and ridiculously sent Nani off at OT, has just refused to give bayern a penalty for a blatant handball by Marcelo. How is this cheating p. k still allowed to referee CL matches?

Anyone on here know much about Fred as a player? Obviously Ed002 said we are interested along with city, and observing but what you guys know/ think of him as a player.
Caolán.

What I've seen of him did not impress me. He's lazy and drifts out of games a lot. We already have plenty of them in our team. So no thanks.

01 May 2018 16:29:56
AAA the midfielder i'd love us to sign is SMS from lazio but as ed said he would be very expensive. Just thought I’d ask about Fred as I’ve been asked by a couple of friends if I know anything on him!

He needs to pull his "finger" out then by the sounds of it!

01 May 2018 19:26:07
He looks out of shape to me, his kit always looks really right. I’m also not sure how playing with a tail would work. Personally I think he should stick to being a mascot.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 May 2018 18:40:55
Not seen very much of him to be honest. Ask ed001 he might have something. He was named a couple of sessions ago for taking a banned substance a dietary supplement that's not a great sign. But read a profile on him and his progress has been smooth apart from that occasion.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - unfortunately playing in the Ukraine the only chance to watch him is in European competition and I have not watched him. He has attracted a fair bit of interest from clubs like Barca, so that might be a good sign, though their scouting has not been the best in recent years. It has been very hit and miss.}

Allegri bookies favourite for nest arsenal manager.

Just thinking back to wolhat ed02 has said and wondering if we'd be better off if we had waited for him instead of jumping the gun and getting jose.

I guess time will tell.

I do believe jose will have us winning more silverware though. Another transfer window, a few more of his signings and we'll no doubt improve.

I also believe that as he becomes more confident in our defensive work we'll see more freedom for the forwards to express themselves, which should also lead to more attractive football.

Should be an interesting season ahead and I hope arsenal do get Allegri, just to see what we'd be missing.

Think you’re right Red: he’s played cautious football because he hasn’t been able to fully trust the defence. When that’s more solid, I think it’ll be more attacking too.

Agree1 Disagree3

01 May 2018 13:15:10
Jose has always played cautious football no matter what he thinks of the defence he has. That won't change, Jose won't change he hasn't in 20 years, he won't now.

Any plan which involves having LVG as our manager for 3 years is a bad plan.

Didn't his Real Madrid team get the record number of goals in a La Liga season? I would take that if we are cautious.

Agree6 Disagree2

01 May 2018 13:49:42
Agreed shappy, but it I think it will be more attacking than it is now, just not exactly pep/ klopp levels of attacking play.

01 May 2018 13:59:39
Why should he change? His style has bought him tons of success.

01 May 2018 16:24:35
I don't get the love in with Allegri. Another cautious manager, managing in a poor league with a team that has won the league six years on the trot. There is no competition in Italy. Only Napoli have given Juve some competition.
We need a manager with some attacking ideas if we're to replace Mourinho. Or better still, send Mourinho's assistant, Faria, to arsenal and get Liverpool's assistant Zeljko Buvac to become Mourinho's right hand man and get us playing more aggressive and attacking football.

Agree5 Disagree2

01 May 2018 17:20:00
Purely on looks, I'd take the Atletico Assistant in a heart beat (German Burgos), he looks like a real monster and would turn a few of our boys into men in no time!

GDS, one swallow does not a summer make.

Once in 20 years has Mourinho thrown off the shackles. And many will tell you in that season against half decent teams he still had one eye on defence.

Bare in mind in that Real Madrid side he had Ronaldo at the peak of his powers, Bale before he got injured by every passing blade of grass, Benzema had his best ever season and Modirc was also at his best. They had 5-6 truly world class players at their peaks.

Next season will be more of the same from Mourinho, hopefully we can turn silly dropped points into wins, and City won't be quite as brilliant. But don't expect Mourinho to turn into an offensive manager.

Agree4 Disagree3

01 May 2018 18:43:13
Did he have bale? That season i don't think so.

Agree3 Disagree1

01 May 2018 19:00:24
Did he have modric that season? I don't think so.
It was a good team. With Ronaldo benzema ozil kaka (hardly played) higuhin marcello Alonso pepe ramos arbeloa casillas lots of really top class players not too many world class but they did have a great season breaking lots of long standing records they still stand today.

Agree3 Disagree3

01 May 2018 22:37:28
Tell us about bale getting injured that season shappy or how modric was at his best. Your normally so quick to reply with your stats ed the ones you make up off the top of your head😂😂😂😂.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 May 2018 00:04:24
I should bloody hope against half decent teams he had one eye on defence, that’s how to play, surely nobody has any issue with how we play against the top teams as long as we get the results, it is the lacklustre performances against the weaker teams that are the problem. If we won 5-0 2 weeks on the run then defended for our lives and won 1-0 against City I’m sure people would accept that.

Review Of The Day 1st May 2018

{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 1st May 2018

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 May 2018 08:28:15
Good read Ed but certainly know how to catch people’s attention with the first piece 🤣🤣. So tell me what’s your honest unbiased opinion whether Salah should have been punished or do you think there’s just pure favoritism from the Discipline Committee?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - how can it be favouritism? Or is the favouritism towards Egyptians because Hegazy blatantly punched Ings in the stomach and no punishment was given. It is simple really, the FA set a precedent with regard to punches, anyway can now argue there was not enough force and a good lawyer would point to the Hegazy decision and there is no way the FA could dispute it. They have now ruled punches acceptable with that one idiotic decision.}

01 May 2018 11:40:52
Yeah I figure so. Thanks for response.
My point is not Salah per se but rather the inconsistency by the FA and there is also a case to case and subjective basis. No point with all the talk about VAR and all that when the FA is just so inconsistent with their decision.
I just feel FA is not doing a good enough job overall and if they expect clubs, players and referees to respect them then they should really get their act together first.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - they should you are right. The first step would be to hand VAR over to an independent body that is not the PGMOL with their agenda of making out referees are always right, to the point of making up lies about interpretations of the rules after a clear and obvious error by a group of officials that did not know the laws of the game. Funnily enough that interpretation has never been used since that game, but no one mentions it, even though there is an instance of it not being applied in almost every game played.}

02 May 2018 02:57:52
What is the deal with Buvac ed1? Klopp and him have worked together for long time now and suddenly leave of absence right at the business end of the season for Liverpool?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is a lot of things, they are always bickering but this is more than the usual, on top of other things. The arrival of Kornmayer has overshadowed a lot of his input into team selection.}

02 May 2018 04:47:08
Ohhh maybe he may leave Liverpool. Klopp used to say Buvac is the brains so hope it affects them in the run in (haha-had to slide that in) . Wouldn't mind him at Utd if he can bring a bit of that attacking flair to add to Mourinho's defensive know-how.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he may well do, certainly the people I have spoken to believe it is a permanent break-up. However the pair are always bickering and then make up, so you never know.}
