A lot of people on this site seem to think that we should just get rid of Morrison and/or Pogba. I have to disagree with that. I think if we lose Morrison and/or Pogba, it's a massive blow to our plans for the future. Let's face it, we all had these two in our first XI predictions two years from now. Well, that looks like it could change.

We have been praising these two, lauding them as the next generation of United greats, possibly emulating the class of 92 and becoming legends alongside past greats. What's changed our opinions? I think there is a little bit of ignorance from people concerning the real situation.

Firstly, I don't think it's money related or even behaviour problems. I think Ravel and Pogba are losing patience sitting in the stands watching Rafael and Park play in midfield ahead of them and then watching them lose that game against a woeful Blackburn team. And I think they have every right to feel this way. They are both better than Park. They can both bring excitement to the team and both have the potential to be the best in the world in their positions.

We didn't even start them at home to Crystal Palace, which surely must make them question where they are. Fergie has made a mistake here. Not only by not giving Pogba and Ravel their chance, but also giving into Rooney's demands. That set the tone for future contract negotiations and now we may pay the price.

We seem to be trying to sell off all the 'Deadwood' at the moment. I have a feeling it's gonna be a big summer in terms of spending! Not anything I've heard just Gibson out, De Laet Drinkaater recalled from loan and about to be sold. Berbatov and Kuz seem to be in the shop window.

Just to clarify, instead of learning how to spell Mr. Kuszczak (courtesy of the MU website), PIG = Pole In Goal. So no, I don't enjoy calling United players after animals.

Hey Ed,
Do you think we will be able to keep both Pogba and Morrison at this point in time? Also, do you see Pogba being on the bench for the Arsenal clash?

YankSAW {Ed007's Note - Just my own opinion is that Morrison will leave but Pogba will stay, for now anyway. I don't think Pogba will make the bench either.}

Anyone else think that United and Ferguson have purposely put out to the press about the youth not wanting to sign on just to keep people happy.
At the end of the transfer window these 3 will sign contract extensions and no players will be signed but everyone will be happy we managed to keep Ravel, pogba and wellbeck.
I think we're all just being taken for mugs.

Ravel Morrison at only 18 is everything that is wrong with youths and modern day footballers nowadays. If i were you i would be counting down the days til he is out of your club. How can someone who is 18 and has made 3 (THREE) appearances for the first team be cheeky enough to negotiate with Manchester United!? If rumours are true then he is being offered roughly £8k a week. When he was born Ferguson had already been in charge of United for roughly 7 years. How can he be so bold to start throwing around figures to him!? It baffles me and as far as i'm concerned Ferguson and United are spot on and should have the backing of every United fan. If the Money Grabbing person were to leave United for more money it would please me no end to see him competing in League 1 in 4 years time. Talent only gets you so far, after that its up to yourself. Got a feeling he's going to be found wanting.

Lets hope all three sign up and get it over with. See what they're made of on the pitch. Gotta admit even though its a long strategy the patience is killing me. If we can keep these youth were in for some good football but i'm start to wish it was like yesterday already!

Fergie said at the start of the season that loaning out foreign youth players doesn't always benefit both parties, this is the reason why he didn't let Pogba go out on loan.

Nani has had a difficult bedding-in period since signing, he like Berbatov had a great start to the 2010/11 season, but form, being shifted left and right and a new system formulated for the Barca final, hindered the acclaim deserved. This year, injury free, he has been one of the a few potent forces on both wings but the unsettled centre of midfield has drawn our attention elsewhere.

Letting Gibson leave and re-signing Scholes frees up a space on the bench for Pogba and allows Cleverley to return to fitness and form without people placing the unhelpful burden of being our midfield saviour.

Websites are stating that Man Utd will offer £15 mil for Ross Barkley even though he has just signed a new contract with Everton.
With Evertons financial issues this could well be a good deal for both parties. Would also allow him to get some much needed advice from Scholes.
I think him Pogba, Morrison and Tunnicliffe could be the future.
What do you think guys?

devil dust. I tried to say what your motivation was. Of course I couldn't get it right. How can I?

That's was the point. You don't know I don't know motivation but we are quick to think the worst.

I really think agents have more power over players than is comfortable and certain parts of the media love to stir trouble, but its just an opinion.

i was ott coming back from night out. had a conversation with someone concerning contracts and gibson and could see the pure venom going towards those players. Did He read every negative press and buy it? That was hate I never want to feel.

I still stand by it. If there are contract issues I look to the agent first.

he's an international now who brings balance to the front line and scoring enough to be noticed for it barring injury could have been double figures. He's displaced berba.

To me it looks like the agent milking that.

Still say weldone to welbeck a local lad for breaking through.

Sir Alex was also asked about Danny Welbeck's contract talks after a couple of newspaper reports in the past week or so on the subject. The boss stressed United fans have nothing to fret about, stating: "There is no issue. We know the situation well with Welbeck and there is nothing to worry about there.

From the United website, thought I would share as I see this as good news regarding Welbeck, who is IMO a very important player for the future.

Just to make it clear here I am a big fan of Danny Welbeck and think he COULD be a smashing player for us he has done no wrong in my eyes on the field his work rate movement and attitude is great and if he keeps working hard and improving then he can become a great player for United.

I really hope he signs the contract United are offering him so he can put his head down and concentrate on playing football.

Noticed an article in the Sky Sports website where AVB is looking for club 'B' teams that can play competitive league football instead of reserve football. I mentioned lately where we should sign on Pogba and Morrisson and then loan them out for experience (both football and life). I really believe that reserve football is not the way a young professional player should start his career and having a 'B' league team is a great idea. I can understand why the lower league clubs would hate this idea, and I can't see it happening, so why not loan out as many youths as possible and just use the reserves to keep fitness levels up on the first team subs, players returning from injuries, etc.

TEAM NEWS

"We're a bit better in terms of injuries. Smalling and Jones are fit. Cleverley and Young have done some running which is good. It would be a great boost to have them back - they're influential players.

"Anderson is still a bit short - he got an injury in training last week.

"Sunday's game [against Arsenal] is the start of a hectic spell for us and I hope we come through the programme well."

We are only in this situation with the wages for 2 reasons.

1. We gave into Wazza's demands.

2. Our wage structure, while in place to protect the clubs finances, is set at levels that are not only way behind other clubs in our bracket but also not as up to date as it should be.What I mean is that for a player like Rooney to be accepted as the top earner is pretty obvious but when players with big importance i.e Vida, Nani or any top player on par with Rooney talent wise that would join us then don't get anywhere near Rooney's wage then yes there will be problems and yes there will be bigger haggles and demands when the renewals come around.

The reason I think we are going down to the last 12 months to start contract talks is because of the fact Rooneys sittu is still fresh in the mind and the agents/players discussing new deals will use that example for an example to push their own hand.

If Rooney is on 180k a week when arguably the league was won with a far bigger contribution from Nani or Vida then they are well within their right to ask for better terms than the reported 6ok and 90k they are on. The players we have are all now at a stage that they have put in a fair amount of years at the club. Welbeck IMO has been billed as a future star and mainstay of our team by SAF himself, has worked up through our youth system, has applied himself in countless loans to improve himself to a level to get into the 1st team, has done enough to push in front of a 30m signing on 90k a week and a squad striker on 50k for playing so why does he not deserve 60k? What else does he need to do? If the time for renewing is neigh then why wouldn't he push for that extra bit especially if the way its going he could well be a starter for alot of this and future seasons and if he signs a 5 year 45k deal it could be 4 years before he can negotiate a better one. IMO he is better than a squad player and if we could tie him to a 60k deal for say 6 years to be revised if certain criteria were met then we would be getting a good deal and keeping another part of the big puzzle together.

I would also give Clev the same deal at the end of the year and offer both the younger lads 30k 4 year deals to be reviewed in 2 years time by then they should be full members of the first team and would fully deserve more.

I read this morning that our young Mr Morrison is wanting £30k per week if true you can see why SAF not budging he is enough of a nightmare on £1k a week he would just be uncontrollable then imo. Yes he has talent but at only 18 that much money would ruin him. Like I said though it may not even be true that's why they're called newspaper STORIES.

Sorry its not a sensationalist story about a new player but anyway. Just read that we are in the middle of negotiating our new kit deal which will be the largest in football (the figures quoted were £450m over 13 seasons (around £38m p/a) if true this in it's own would put a substantial hole in the loan to buy the club. The question is can we remain competitive for the durationof this especially post-fergie? I reckon that the extra 15 mill a season will probably be swallowed in higher player/wages?

In my opinion SAF should give morrison a chance to prove himself by just loaning him to selling coz wit the like of scholes, anderson, clevrely, carrick, back into the squad, i don't think whether he can break into the first team. loan would be the solution to morrison's problem.just as cleverly was sent to blackburn and now he has impress even the England coach capello.

FIFA need to
act to bring this under control but they
won't as they're as much use as a chocolate teapot. Shappy

Well said shappy, wish we could open up that can o worms. players need representation though but when they getting commission. how you know the advice is balanced. Answer impossible.

Fifa probably love the drama it brings to football brand of a nasri defecting or how much ronaldo went for. Be a much quieter world without the men in the backround agitating. For whatever reason fifa gets something out of it. I'd happily put them in the same boat as the agents. How can you clean the world if your hands are dirty?

It isn't gonna change. But i'm not gonna pin the blame on welbeck. Who worked hard over a very long period of time, to get to the position he has, earning his place in the team. Credit where credit is due. Or are we only allowed to slate players? i hope his agent doesn't f*** it up for him. ..constantine..

He has scored something like 11
senior goals for United...come on get
real ! Devil Dust.

He's broken through. Got his foot in the door an the agents trying to milk it for what its worth. Opportunity. Some players are arrogant sure. But have you ever listened to welbeck?

Does he really strike you as someone who wants to play hardball? More likely the agent says listen we gonna play it this way don't worry I know what i'm doing and welbeck just rolls with it.

The real business is between the agent and the club. I can imagine welbeck sitting there with the agent thinking I wanna be somewhere else right now and just nodding along. but i'll give you a reason why you'll never catch me saying what you have

. How in Gods name can you know what welbeck has going on in his nugging? What his motivations are? Agents by nature you can guess it aint for bringing love and peace. But an individual? How the hell would you know? Its easy to dehumanize a man who plays football and earns grotesque amounts.

But basically your just having an easy cliched supporters moan to get easy support for yourself. My bad bud. I shoulda just said he's a devious manipulating low life scum who is pissing on everyone involved the club. But then there's no fish dropping from the bandwagon.

i think its fairly obvious that we're clearing the decks of players considered not upto scratch. Gets the wage bill down. I think the savings should be invested straight back into new contracts for welbeck, pogba and morrison. Some of you will moan at that but i'd rather put money into securing the long term future of these players than throwing even more money at expensive foreign players such as mr ws who were asking for even more than the kids. I'd rather see top class local like danny and ravel than some of those linked. In the summer we need about four signings and with all the contracts done and the dead wood gone we'll be set for the next few years.
