What a dyslexic formation this is!! Evra isn't a right back. Young and Sanchez on the wrong wings. Tut tut!

"For 1 year he done well !! What about the first 2 years ?? I believe he cost around the same as Carroll and he'll be retiring soon :) Some buy he was

Rob YNWA"

I can't work out whether you're stupid or just looking for a reaction. Perhaps both? So here you go: Berbatov cost 31m and in his time at United he's contributed to two Premiership title wins. He scored more goals than anyone last season. And he bagged a nice little hatrick against you lot.

What has your 35m superstar done? Apart from regularly visit Burger King? He's a lampost, who doesn't really contribute anything without proper wide players. Why do you think Kenny was so desperate for Young? You're now officially a "long ball", "hit and hope" team.

And he didn't even want to leave Newcastle to join Liverpool! It's pretty sad when players would rather play at Newcastle over you.

I dont get why everyone seems, so desperately wanting for manutd's best player this year ( apart from vidic) to leave?? GUYS, Nani is good!
Best player in the Premier League this season. We've waited so long for him to play well, and now that he's starting to display some world class talent, (which you'd have to be an person to say he doesn't) people want to trade him for sneider. I'm sure a whole load of people wanted to get rid of Ronaldo too, just when he was starting to bloom. Well Saf is not an idiot, and is jolly gonna keep him. Come on you nani haters, watch and learn this next season. This kid has got some talent watch him get better and better! I don't think he'll ever reach Ronaldo's level, but he'll get close. Oh and also watch Anderson this season guys! Another one to seriously bloom.

In terms of transfers..........expect some academy signings, and expect someone to replace scholes, tom cleverly to young, saf wont entrust him with that responsibility yet, but maybe for the future, also pogba coming up - seriously hot talent. I'm thinking someone between 28-30. We need someone like iniesta or xavi....fletch nd carrick, really not quite them...would love to see modric, but dunno:(

Would Sneijder Fit into the team without affecting Rooneys impact on games? Wayne likes to play deeper and Wesley likes to be forward. I just couldnt see it working plus if his wages are as high as been reported is it really worth it?

Im no Sir Alex and course he knows best just doesnt seem right to me I just hope we get a decent target man as Chica not big enough

Xhedran Shaqiri would be my buy as he is obtainable, left footed, young and an international. He could be the answer to our left wing conundrum.

Unfortunately I don't see Hazard, Goetze, or Kagawa coming. All their respective teams have just qualified for champions league and with Gervinho seemingly on his way out and Cabaye gone to Newcastle, theres no way Hazard is leaving.

Martinez and Martin are interesting ones for me, my preference would be Martin as I follow the French league but we would be held to ransom for them as they both have some time left on their contracts.

I really hold the view that Vidal may be on our radar, his contract is running out, hes the box to box midfielder we need. Recent relations with Chile suggest at least one will be coming in the window (I know about that youngster, we have a deal in place to sign him so I don't mean him). Also Leverkusen have stated they don't want to do business with Bayern as they would be selling to a rival. Sources say that Napoli are interested so if thats true, perhaps Hamsik instead? I don't rate Hamsik that much tbh so I'd be disappointed.

I had a ponder also, we have a relationship and contact with Sampdoria (albeit a small one), now they are relegated perhaps a move for Andrea Poli or Guido Marilungo they are young but still impressive from when I've seen them, even in a poor team. Ed's, any thoughts on this?

In reality to this, I feel that Ashley young will fill the left wing void and sometimes the central attacking mid role leaving just 2 centre mids being bought. This is under the assumption that Ashley Young and De Gea are both signing. So its all guess work really!

dear unnamed sir
mr bob the red is ngiak's old nemesis
and ngiak knows him as a very intelligent person
there is no point "pointing out" anything he says
cos he says it just for that... to get a response
do you realise that he never/rarely responds to the responders?
guess not...
you guys just play into his hands, the games he plays
ngiak enjoys every moment of it
especially when you guys then smugly say how you got the better of him... :)

Now barca are looking to make a multi million pound triple transfer of fabregas, sanchez and rossi.but the problem is that they have only 4O mil pounds......now cesc has been their main target for quite a few years ...so 35-40 mil are gone then and there...now to buy either sanchez or rossi they are offering villa to city/chelsea fact....now if villa goes and they buy sanchez, a winger.then they have no recognised centre forward...that means they would have to buy rossi with the villa money and thats why there is still a possibility of sanchez coming to UTD....logic

Hello All,

Great site. Lots of fun. Whilst it is impossible to accurately predict the outcome of any transfer dealings - these things come down to far more absurd factors than any of us could imagine - Sir Alex's preferred remaining summer targets are Mario Goetze and Yann M'Vila. Not that either Dortmund or Rennes are keen to sell, but Manchester United are obviously a better supported and historically more successful club than either of them, and therefore an attractive proposition.

Naturally many of you will choose not to believe this and I suppose that's the fun of the site, nevertheless it is entirely true.

Best Wishes! {Ed007's Note - Thanks for the compliments, maybe some of you guys would like a read at this article about clubs approaches to transfers:

I think the editors on this site are very opinionated and only post rumours that they want to happen and like the sound of! I bet they have no inside knowledge at all! I've not even read half way down and it's all the same rumours over and over! Why not give everyone a view or say and just edit out abuse etc, Not only the stuff you are making out is going to happen by only posting certain stuff!

Bet ed won't post this!

Unbelievable tekkers! {Ed007's Note - What are you on about? A rumour is a rumour, do you want us to make up new ones every day just so things are different? There are plenty of sites for that, feel free to go and find one. "Bet ed won't post this", what are you 8?}

Just thought i'd remind all you dreamers the sort of complete toss you lot were writing in, last week.

I sat back and waited. It didn't take long. Once again you've been had by the Glazier PR Spin brigade.

Seriously, it's so easy to get you lot sucked in hook, line and sinker. It's the easiest trick in the book. Get the club linked with big name players and then watch the tools bite like gormless trout.

Hilarious. Told you all in 2006 to get ready for a bumpy ride but how deluded are you lot? Still won't see the wood for the trees.

There's only one on here who's close to the truth but you hound him every time he tries to point it out.

Moral of the Glazier story : Truth hurts and lil' sis needs her botox paying for. Plus you season ticket holders have just paid for a lovely little weekend getaway for David 'brown envelope Alex?' Gill.

Official chumps for the close season? 19,000 essex posters last week who all had Sanchez nailed on.....

were being linked with both diarra and alonso of madrid, this to me would surgest that there may be some contact between the two clubs over a deal which seems to be a deal involving a madrid player moving to manchester. It looks like the press are doing their usual of guessing which player it is and are looking at where united need to strengthen and which midfielders could be coming to united. Personally i hope its Khedira he reminds me of a young Ballack and i feel he could be the midfielder we need until our youngsters are ready to step up then he could be the player to help them grow into their new roles. Reports are that he hasn't settled in spain and is looking for a move away. If we could sign him and Hulk as well as Young Jones and De Gea then i'd be over the moon.

""Sydney you know i always listen to your views on our youth, and like myself you have been a big supporter of Ravel, but I don't know how you can compare him to Wilshire they both have different strengths to their game Wilshire being a better passer of the ball and Ravel going past people easier. The big difference at the moment is that Wilshire has done it on the big stage whereas Ravel has not yet been tested against top rate defenders. I really really hope that our youth does come through as it is our only chance but in my perfect world we would buy Wilshire to play alongside them. Now that would be some team. RAINFISHTROMBONE""

@I couldn't agree more, I would take Wilshere over Nasri or Cesc. Imagine a future midfield of Pogba, Morrison & Wilshere added to our future back five with Keane up-top. I know what you are saying about Ravel not being tested at the highest level and you make a very good point, but in terms of excitement, Ravel is more exciting probably because he is higher up the pitch, he scores plenty of goals and he sets up plenty of goals. I think this is why he would be more exciting and probably a bigger hit, but they are both exceptional talents and I would love for United to offer £40m to bring him to OT.

I know what you are saying about Ravel gliding past players, it's almost effortless. I had a mate in school who used to glide past players like he does, it's not speed or trickery, he just knows when to make his run. It's hard to explain but people will know what I mean when they see him play, if they already haven't. Ravel that is, not my mate from school :)

Sir Alex will be bringing in Sneijder & Diarra as the attacking & defensive midfielder respectively. We will playing the 4-3-3 formation next year which will look like this.

Dea Gea

Rafael Rio Vidic Evra

Sneijder Ronney Diarra

Toni Chicharito Young

Rooney will be given the free role where he can roam anywhere around the park with free license to roam. Senijder will be the link up with the 3 attackers upfront alongwith his own creativity. Diarra will be the linkup between defence and midfield. Gr8 times ahead.

Worrying news. I was in the company of some senior football people this weekend, none of them from Manchester United i must add but two of them very friendly with Gary Cook. They were convinced that the Ronaldo to City story had more legs than it was given credit for. They said that City had offerd him £300,000 a week though there seemed to be a sticking point with image rights. None of these people were anti-United or Pro City we were just having a general conversation. I don't know if it will happen but god it would hurt if he did. I would not enjoy him walking out in a Blue shirt on Charity shield day. It seems that City are determined to be the noisiest neighbours ever. Lets hope somewhere in Ronaldo's heart he realises how much he would hurt us. Remember how close they were to signing the spud faced nipper and what it cost us to keep him. RAINFISHTROMBONE

If Barca dont cough up and meet the asking price but we did and Sanchez was going to sign for us now.

How would ye feel ??? would ye still want him ???

Red Knight.
-----------------------------------------------------
In terms of value Sanchez would be worth more to us than he would to Barcelona. As much as I hate to say it - they could probably leave their squad as it is this summer and still be the best team in the world. It won't be until next year that they need to start looking at replacing Xavi and Puyol which is why I don't think they are to concerned whether they sign Fabregas this summer (although I think they will anyway!).

I'd be happy to pay as much as £40m (which based on the market seems fair - Torres £50m, Carrol £35m) but would be very aware that he may end up leaving us in 3 years time for either Real Madrid or Barcelona. As long as we did everything we could to ensure we made a healthy profit on him and he gave us his all during the time he spent with us I'd be happy. He certainly has the potential to become one of the best players in the world and would be a great asset to any team.

I'm not sure why everyone is so concerned that we won't be able to match the current Barca team next year. They are outstanding and it's going to be difficult for anyone to get near them. However, that won't last for ever. In fact, I'd suggest they'll start to tail off in a couple of years when Xavi begins his decline - he's the player who makes them tick. I'd also suggest Messi won't maintain his current peak forever, either. We should be positioning ourselves to take over the mantle from them at that point.

Talksport are repoprting that Manchester United target Wesley Sneijder has hinted he is ready to leave Inter Milan and move to Old Trafford.

Gino
-----------------------------------------------------
A very flimsy article based only on him answering "We shall see." when asked if he fancied a move to United.

Of course it could still happen - but I can't help but feel that if Sir Alex was going to sign him he would have moved as soon as Chelsea put in a bid for Modric. Now that Spurs have all but ruled out Modric leaving, Sneijder will be on the radars of City and Chelsea and I do not want to get involved in a bidding war for him. He is a good player but I would rather we signed a younger player with potential (unless Sneijder ends up at Chelsea).

According to SSN Gabriel Obertan has denied agreeing a move to Lille!

Also looks like Chelsea are in for mourinho the second.

On transer targets in sure SAF and David Gill no who they want and if that fails they have adequate alternatives in mind.

It's a long summer and transfer window closes end of August I believe so keep the faith and let's not panic! Sir Alex will do what's beat for us!

Ed can i ask you something?

We have already agreed a deal for Phil Jones, and looks like we will get de gea, young and are waiting on a decion for varane.

Does this mean we will not sign a CM?? as fergie said he was looking at 3 players
IMO if we dont sign a great CM we will not be able to compete in chamions league next year. Especially if barca get fabregas and sanchez, chelsea get modric....troubled times ahead?

what u think ed? {Ed007's Note - I think we will just need to wait and see who signs up. I would imagine a CM will still be brought in}
------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure where/when Sir Alex said he was only looking at 3 players - but as far as I am aware we only moved for Jones and Varane due to interest from other clubs. As far as I am aware we had planned to go for both players next season but were forced to act now to prevent them going elsewhere (although it looks as though Varane may anyway).

If Sir Alex was only planning 3 signings expect De Gea, Young and one more to be those he had originally planned. I can only assume/hope that the 'one more' is a CM - as we are in need of one badly.

1. we dont know who we will sign so wait until the end of July before you complain.

2. Fergie doesnt hand out contracts he says who he wants and our background staff try to make it happen, stop sayin fergie letting us down.

3. has anyone thought that even with sanchez and sneijder in the team we may still lose to barca?/ not play them next year.

4. the big player rumours are getting boring as half of them probs are not true.

Gotta love Udinese's president Giampolo Pozzo -
"For us it is difficult to keep players like him. We are waiting for an offer that has not yet arrived. He would love to go to Barcelona, he would form a strong partnership with Messi, but Sanchez is worth 50 million. If it were the other teams like Inter. or Real Madrid they would pay that figure to buy him. The agreement does not exist yet, there is no signature."

There is not a chance in hell Sanchez is worth 50 million at the moment - nor is there a chance in hell Barcelona would ever pay anything near that. Unfortunately though the deal will still go ahead because Barcelona is where the player wants to go. Any club who came in with a bid now and signed him would be stupid to do so. That said Manchester City do fit that bill.

--------------------------------------------------
Berbatov will be 31 next January and as such if we are to recoup any meaningful amount of the £30m we spent on him now is the time to sell him. He's had a good season in terms of goalscoring which should knock his price up a considerable amount. Sir Alex made it clear what he thought of Berbatov towards the tail end of last season by snubbing him for Chico (a player who is good - but still some way off from being the finished article and hitting his full potential). A new striker who can play with both Chico and Rooney would allow Sir Alex to rotate his strikers fluently rather than being forced to just throw one in when Rooney or Chico is unavailable (as he was forced to do when Rooney was suspended with poor results). Rooney could even play AM with Chico and a new striker playing off him.

Berbatov does not suit our style of play and is far too inconsistent for my liking. That said Welbeck did not look great at the U21's, Macheda failed to impress on his loan last season, Owen has terrible problems with fitness and Diouf is not and will never be good enough for United. If Berbatov goes he will NEED to be replaced.

For example- berbatov worth 10-12million
He scored 20 odd goals this season and is worth a third of andy Carroll????????????????(who is crap)

How come nani is being used as a swap + cash for players?
Nani is at least worth 20 million and in todays fuc Ed up Market he could be 40 mill
But then Jordan henderson who can nearly start for under 21s is 20million?????

What do you think Ed ? {Ed007's Note - The transfer market is so crazy can anyone actually judge a players value apart from clubs involved in the deal, as you say, £35 million for Carroll was a massive shock to me!}

Spanish radio claims Manchester United are considering a shock move for former Liverpool star Xabi Alonso, now at Real Madrid.
---------------------------------------------------
Rubbish. As with the Di Maria links there is no way Madrid would sell one of their most important players. Alonso was one of the best players in La Liga last season and is probably worth in excess of £40m based on the transfer market at the moment and the £30m+ Madrid paid for him 2 years ago. United would never spend this much on a 29 year old and Alonso (who still confesses to having a soft spot for the scouse) would not be interested in a move to Manchester United.

There may well be some truth in the rumors that we're interested in Lassana Diarra but I really hope there isn't. If Sir Alex really wants a dm he should be looking at Daniele De Rossi or Yann M'Vila - but personally I can't help but feel Jones was signed to play in this position.

The prospect of us signing Hazard seems to be creeping up as well. Great player and one whose signing I can't help but feel we should be beating other clubs for. He's not on the same page as Sanchez but certainly a star of the future. He can play either AM or on the wings and at the age of 20 has the potential to do great things.

On a side note I've also just heard from ESPN that Athletico Madrid (and Seville) are interested in signing Park. I read something very recently saying that he knew he didn't have long left in football and may consider leaving United (which is probably why clubs have begun to show interest). As much as I love the guy at United I can't help but feel he deserves to be playing regular first team football which is something we can't offer him. He probably won't go as he sells a lot of replicas in Asia (United tops - not Gucci handbags) but I wouldn't mind him leaving if he were to play some part in a deal for Aguero. If we pull out of the deal for Young and keep Nani (which I would much rather do as Nani is twice the player young is with the potential to become even better) and raise £15m or so with the sale we wouldn't be too far off from having enough to offer what Athletico are asking for. Just a thought as we have been strongly linked with him in the past and RM's interest in Neymar has cast doubt over whether Aguero is in JM's plans.

So, we miss out on Sanchez and back away from Sneijder; two world class players who could move us towards the level set by Barca.
Instead we look to Young, Adam, Taraabt etc etc who will do nothing towards improving our chances of closing the gap on the Spaniards.
If we are not prepared to spend big money on transfer fees and wages, we will forever be in the shadows of Chelsea, Sh**ty, Barca and Real when it comes to the big names who are the only players who can add the required sparkle to an otherwise good squad. We are only one or two class signings away from having a very good team able to challenge on all fronts, but without them may struggle to make top four finish next season with all of our competitors looking to improve this summer.

Just remember the champions league final, with our current squad we are never going to get near Barca, we will challenge and possibly win the leage / domestic cups but will never challenge europes best...

Why ?

Because we have bought Phil Jones - (Great prospect)

Ashley Young (will never play in the big games as park, Valencia etc will all be ahead in the pecking order)

De Gea (great prospect, also a very good keeper)

and we are now being linked to every average player that the other top european clubs are not interested in or looking to off-load.

The board need to get the finger out and start buying top class players. at least 2 midfielders and maybe another striker if Berbs goes.

No more major signing this year once De Gea and Young are finalised. Ferguson is refusing to be held to ransom by players wage demands, i.e. Sneijder £200k p/w, and will return to his stance that he see's no value in the current market.

Ferguson will return to youth as he did in 1995.

Pogba and Tunnicliffe to be promoted from the reserves, Morrison to go out on loan possibly to Peterborough but more likely Blackpool for an initial 6 months.

Possible United line up next season.

De Gea
Fabio, Rio, Vidic, Evra
Valencia, Jones, Pogba, Young
Rooney
Hernandez.

In Europe

De Gea
Rio, Vidic Smalling

Nonsense GGMU.

Cristiano said last month that he would sign a 10 year contract with Madrid if he was offered it. He knows that he will out stay Jose.

On to rumours...

Sanchez looks Barca bound. Modric to Chelsea (really gutted about that). City have leverage (in the form of Tevez) for Sneijder. However, I remain upbeat. There is still plenty of quality talent out there such as Pastore, Hamsik, Hazard and Nasri. If we miss out on all of these there is still M'Villa, De Rossi, Diarra, Banega, Defour, Witsel, D. Costa. What I'm trying to say is the list goes on and on. I have faith that we as a team and a squad will be ready for next season. I don't care who Chelsea and City buy. You can't buy team spirit, determination and tenacity.

@@

What a load of nonsense!!!

Rooney is on about that anyway and with the fact of Sneijder being a proven world class player the big wages would obviously follow him. If nobody is kicking off over Rooney holding the club to ransom over his wages they cant complain if Sneijder , who is already on around £175'000 a week wants a similar amount to join.

Plus to say Hazard is better than Sanchez you must be having a laugh? Can you see all the best teams setting up a tug of war over Hazard? No! Hazard will be a good player but nowhere near Ronnie's level and if i had the choice of Sanchez or Hazard there would only be one winner.....Sanchez.

But in his first two seasons you can't say he was world class. He arrived as potential. Played inconsistent. Became world class. O and tomboy no i didn't want to sell him. Still not sure that the sanchez deal is done. Fabregas is their no 1 target and they won't want to spend any kitty til that deal is done. They would then need to offload villa to fund the deal of Sanchez and at nearly 30 years old I can't see huge money being paid for him.

Even after all this there is still confirmed interest in Rossi and barca have had a bid rejected!

Also the fact that soriano is prepared to go in the deal means little. He is a B squad player and would be happy to go to ANY epidural team to be involved in first team duties...

Just my thoughts

Toby
----------------------------------------------
I really wish I had your optimism - but I have a feeling this time tomorrow his transfer to Spain will be confirmed.

I've already commented on Barcelona's transfer budget and how it has more than likely already been injected with a further E27m with the sales of Ibra and Caceres to Milan and Sevilla and by the looks of it another 10m at the least for the sale of Bojan to Roma.

Even if that weren't the case it still looks a done deal. Fabregas may have been their number one target at the beginning of summer - but interest in Sanchez may have forced Barca to move early for a player they may have wanted to leave in Italy for another year whilst they waited for him to develop into a player which would break into their first team (given that he himself would be a better player and Villa would then be the wrong side of 30). Either that or they may not be happy with Arsenal's valuation of Cesc.

Anyway. I expect both of them and Rossi to be at the Nou Camp come September.
