Hazard 2012 - Anelka 1999?

Anybody see the massive similarities. Seems to me like french league agents feel the need to 'whore' their players around every club on the planet.

Its me again.Eds,surely the fact Fergie is there again is a good sign.If he thought Hazard was going to sign for City or Chelsea he wouldn't have bothered tonight.

So it annoying looks like Syd was right and Hazard is just teasing us and playing mind games. I don't wanna put a downer on this but this is starting to feel like the Sanchez/Nasri/Sneijder transfer saga's, and they don't generally turn out great for us. Although we did have a drawn out deal with Berbatov so maybe there's hope.

So after all that Eden Hazard has still not decided on his future! Who knows where he will end up, could be anyone's guess! Also was SAF at the Lille game tonight?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

20 May 2012 22:26:38
Whether he be signing for United, Chelsea or City do you think those in charge of the transfer from their respective clubs would want/encourage him to spill the beans on where he was going before the deal was completed? It was madness to think he would announce his transfer in an interview after the game, wherever he goes, it will be announced in a press conference.

The series draws to a close. After giving a few weeks ago his word to Tottenham , who eventually had to fall back on tracks more suited to their means, Eden Hazard (21 years), the attacking midfielder of Lille, has finally decided to pursue his career under the colors of Manchester United. And despite the strong interest from Manchester City which seemed to hold the rope (Roberto Mancini, the manager of Citizens, may try to console themselves with the Montpellier Younes Belhanda ) or Chelsea, who is charged to income over the last days, Arsenal being disqualified for a while now.

According to an English source, under contract until June 2015 with the club president Michel Seydoux, the Belgian international has been convinced by the speech of Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of the Reds, who had also targeted the Spaniard Iker Muniain (19 years, Athletic Bilbao) . The transaction is estimated at forty million for a five-year lease. Anxious to continue his career on the other side of the Channel, the Red Devil should receive around ten million euros gross per year.

After long hesitation, Eden Hazard has finally opted for the second Premier League, his first choice after negotiations with the Spurs. His agent was still Friday in England. History of finalizing the last details of the transaction. This is despite competition from Nani, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young. After a season of more mixed, the Red Devils have decided to invest heavily to thwart the plans of Citizens or Blues (Ed.: United have approached particular Kwadwo Asamoah, Shinji Kagawa, Yohan Cabaye and Robin van Persie ). Eden Hazard is the first in a long list of reinforcements that are set to join Wayne Rooney & Co. The revolution has started. And it begins with the native of La Louviere.

That is the translation of the article.

Open the link using Google Chrome and you can translate it to English. The article states Hazards first choice was Tottenham but was convinced to come to United after speaking to Ferguson. He's getting what he wants with both playing time and wages. Article also states of United being in contact with a few more players...... the Red Devils have decided to invest heavily to thwart the plans of Citizens or Blues (Ed.: United have approached particular Kwadwo Asamoah, Shinji Kagawa, Yohan Cabaye and Robin van Persie )

Well i think everything is starting to become clear as to who and what positions we are trying to get to strengthen the team.
It looks like we could be seeing a new system in for next season based on pace movement and fluidity.

So heres what appears to be happening and what i feel will happen.

Defence, There has been alot mentioned about Clyne but if i'm honest i don't rate him better than Rafael, and with Chelsea apparently interested in Rafa i think that goes to underline his quality. Yes he makes mistakes but players don't hit their peak years until about 24 so he has three years of learning ahead yet. Clyne wouldn't offer anything better and is less experianced and at not as high a level. If we were to sign a RB then it'd have to be some one older like Debuchy as they would offer the experiance that Rafa lacks. Left back seems to be the main bone of contention in our defence, it's obvious that Sir Alex rates Evra highly but you can see that he is also looking to life after him. This year he gave Fryers his debut and he has said he is looking to send both Fabio and Fryers out on loan to get experiance. He also gave Giverin his debut the other night and may take him on the pre season tour to see how he does. Then you also have Blackett coming up through as well, so thats three talented young LB's under the age of 20 who plus Fabio who's only 21, so could we see a signing here? I wouldn't be suprised if we didn't to be honest. But if we are to sign a LB then i would expect it to be someone cheap who's 22/23 who could come in to offer Evra a challenge and also potentially be a first choice in the future. The three who i feel fit the bill as talented and at the right age and eould be available for less than 5m(as i don't see us spending more than that on a squad LB) are:
Bryan Oviedo, Erik Pieters and Martin Olsson.
But like i said i also wouldn't be suprised if we didn't sign a LB at all.

Midfield, Now this is where it gets interesting. I personally think Pogba will be gone, if he was staying then i'd have expected him to have signed his deal already, why wait? So with him gone what are we left with. Well Carrick has been great this year and Sir Alex has repeatedly praised him so i think he'll be a main stay in our midfield for a couple more years. Fletcher may or may not make it back and if he does will he be able to reach the level he was at before? i seriously doubt it unfortunately. Scholes is Scholes but hasn't got the legs anymore so will be restricted to cameo roles next season. This leaves the midfield we started the season with of Cleverley and Anderson, which looked good and i'm confident that if they were both fit all season then we'd have number 20 in our trophy cabinet right now, when those two were in the team together we were score 4 5 or 8 goals a game, and i'm sure we wouldn't have lost the league on goal differance. So what is that midfield missing? well i think it needs a dynamic force in the middle, we have alot of good footballers but no one who will put themselves about and put in a few crunching tackles, now Sir Alex has come out and stated that we don't and never have played with an out and out DM and he's right so we can wipe players like that off the list, Also with what he's said about Carrick i doubt we'll sign a deeplying playmaker like Sahin or Strootman. It looks like the kind of player we are going for is a dynamic box to box type player who will get stuck in and has a solid defensive side to his game, Now Martinez is the stand out canidate but won't be sold by Bilbao unless an insane fee is paid for him and we aren't gonna pay it so lets forget about him. The others i feel could be in with a shout are:
Kwadwo Asamoah, we've be linked with him recently and i feel he could do a very good job. He's like a super fit more defensive Anderson. So could work very well with Cleverley.

Axel Witsel, has been great at Benfica and could be the player who we've been scouting there. Would be my joint first choice.

Marouane Fellaini, Has the experiance of playing in the premier league and has the prescence and ability to really have a big impact at Old Trafford. He maybe abit pricey and i think alot of fans don't rate him high enough for some reason.

Oscar De Marcos, isn't the blood and thunder tackler we want but plays that clever spanish way where he wins back possession by reading the game and making the interceptions, he's also the best passer on this list. But would he handle the rough nature of the Prem.

Personally i'd go with one of the Belgians, as they have the ability and won't be popping of to the ACN every other year. But i wouldn't be dissapointed with Asamoah, i think De Marcos will cost too much and seems abit more of a gamble compared to the others.

Now up front is where i see the changes next season, i think we'll be playing a 4231 so we have a lone striker with three playing in and around him to stop him becoming isolated. Now First off we need to work out where Rooney will play, personally i feel he'll be playing the main striker role, i think he drops too deep in and AM/SS role and his passing can be abit hit and miss and isn't consistant enough. I also think there aren't many world class strikers available atm. The first choice for the AM/SS role would be Ozil but he won't be leaving Madrid any time soon so Kagawa would be my second choice which is good as it looks like that's who were going for. I think with how far forward Kagawa plays i think there is no chance of Rooney becoming isolated and he can interchange with the wingers and even play beyond Rooney quite comfortably. So we know who'll be playing ST and AM, RW looks solid with Valencia Nani Young and even Welbeck able to play there very well, so it's the LW thats the issue as Young has been good but predicable and Nani looks better on the right. Now Hazard has been linked and could be the one we sign, other options are Gaston Ramirez, James Rodriguez ans Nico Gaitan. Gaitan looks the one we will sign if we miss out on Hazard, personally i'd go for Rodriguez but Porto have said he's not for sale this year. With Rooney playing as an out and out striker and with Welbeck and Hernandez both rated highly by Sir Alex i don't see a first choice ST coming in more likely a young up and coming youngster like Angelo Henriquez or Erick Torres. The name Lewandowski keeps popping up and i think i should shoot that one down right now, Dortmund are the top team in Germany atm and are solid financially, so have no need to sell also he has two years left on his contract so they won't be forced into cashing in this summer, I'd expect him to stay there this year and then probably go to Bayern next summer.

So i would expect to see coming in this summer

Possibly one of: Oviedo, Pieters or Martin Olsson but not garenteed.

One of: Asamoah, Witsel or Fellaini

Kagawa

One of: Hazard or Gaitan

and one of Henriquez or E.Torres

along with a couple of youth signings like Powell ect.

For me the one's i'd like to see are: Oviedo, Fellaini, Gaitan, Kagawa and Henriquez.

line up like this:

_____________DDG
Rafael__Smalling__Vidic__Evra
_______Carrick__Fellaini
_Valencia___Kagawa___Gaitan
___________Rooney

Bench: Lindegaard, Oviedo, Jones, Cleverley, Nani, Welbeck, Hernandez

With Amos, Evans, Rio, Anderson, Scholes, Giggs, Young Henriquez, Park? filling out the squad and youngsters like M.Keane, Fryers, Giverin, Vermijl, Petrucci, Tunnicliffe, Brady, Lingard, Cole, W.Keane, Powell? all either going on loan or being in and around the first team.

To be honest, Eden Hazard can't have bad attitude problems with the way he's playing tonight. He knows he won't be playing with Lille next season and they don't have anything to play for, but he's still playing like its the most important game in his life. Most players would probably just flute around and do the bare minimum, but he is obviously dedicated to his team. {Ed004's Note - He hasn't done much running tbf to him. Hello all,

I don't believe we will sign any "marquee" players this year or for a few to come. I expect Kagawa, Powell and Clyne to be sorted within the next ten days or so. Hazard (who has just scored assisted by Joe Cole by the way) will go elsewhere as there is no need for both Kagawa and him. I expect us to make a move for Modric and if we are outpriced I think we will stick with what we have.

Thoughts?

"Right now i don't feel complete. I'm not a bench player, so obviously my time at United ended. My time in United is over and i should find another place, I had the opportunity to sign for City but I chose United. City are the champions but to me they just bought the title, I rejected City’s offer to play in the best club in the world. I'm a little frustrated by the way this happened. I do not think I deserved it, I went 10 times to talk with the manager & he always told me that he would find a place in the team, but I'm constantly reserve, But I have dignity and I stopped these meetings, it is clear that I'm leaving United.'' ~ Dimitar Berbatov.

I don't care if this is yet another post on Torres, but i am sure that he would be a good signing under the wing of SAF. He is still well capable of being one of the worlds best strikers, towards the end of the season he has demonstrated it. I'd rather have him in the side than play against him.

His problem at Chelsea is that they don't play for him, to set him up if you will. Gerrard, Alonso et al played to set him up at Liverpool if they could. With the service from the wings that we get at Old Trafford, Torres would mop up the chances i'm sure.

If we miss out on Hazard then I would like to see us sign a top striker instead of a winger. I think we could get Torres for £25 million and give him regular first team football. Drogba will be the main man at Chelsea i think next season due to his heroics, i don't see him leaving.

Just thought I'd throw in my two cents..

I am not really worried at all, for two reasons:

1. Just like Moon; I would call myself a football fan first and foremost. I love Manchester United - but our being knocked out of the Champions League this year did not prevent me from getting really involved in the final. And our rivalry with Chelsea did not stop me getting major goosebumps when Drogba scored the winning penalty.

2. I remember the football we were playing at the beginning of the season, before we were overhauled with injuries. As little as some people think of Anderson and Cleverly, their intertwining play with Nani, Valencia, Rooney and Welbeck was just beautiful. No team could keep up with it! I do not think we need to be spending millions, attempting to match the money power of Manchester City because - as it has been well said previously on this website - one of our major strengths is our team unity and our squad.

We saw the damage that losing Kompany and Lescot did to City this year, they could not cope without their first team. They were fairly lucky in terms of injuries (at least in comparison to us) and their first team might look better on paper than ours but I would still argue that our squad is superior.

Manchester City was bought out five years ago now, and it has taken them this long to buy their way to the title. There are several possible explanations for this, but I think one of the main contributing factors was their lack of team unity. You cannot simply buy every player and shove them together, expecting individual greatness to meld immediately.

I think whoever we buy this summer, we'll be fine. We have a great squad in place, and can easily go on to do well next year. If Chelsea have shown us anything this year, spirit and belief can really take a team to the next level.

Does nobody think the Yaya Touray saga with supposedly wanting out, could just be a ploy to lure Hazard into thinking there will be room in the Midfield for him? Or am i reading too much into it. This so called statement of Yaya wanting out came only days after he won the premier league, I get that they're over payed mercenaries and all that but its a tad farcical. Thoughts?

My Realistic team for next season

--------------------De Gea----------------------
Rafel----------Vidic----------Smalling--------Izza
--------M'Villa/Strootman----Cleverley/Carrick-----
Valencia/Nani------Kagawa/Anderson-------Hazard
--------------------Rooney----------------------

So i think that would be absolutely lethal going forward and solid defensively the problem we had this season just gone was a strange one we couldnt finish games off we had numerous chances and couldnt take them so maybe we will see a striker come in to rotate with rooney or put rooney in the whole and have a bigger guy up front or a poacher i would like to see lewandowski, higuain, cavani, mario gomez someone like that but obviously thats in a dream world so id be more than happy with this team

Here are two teams that would cost roughly the same price, which one would you prefer?

_____________DDG
Rafa___Smalling___Vidic___Evra
Valencia__Modric__Carrick___Nani
____________Rooney
__________Lewandowski

With Pogba and Kagawa at the club.

Or:

_____________DDG
Rafa___Smalling___Vidic___Evra
_____Strootman__Cleverly
Valencia____Kagawa_____Hazard
___________Rooney

With Nani not at the club.

Which one would be preferred? Its a very tough pick, but i think that one of these two are quite likely. We will know more tonight/tomorow after Hazard has made up his mind as if Hazard were to come in, then you can kiss good bye to any chance of a good striker coming in and we won't get Modric either.

dream 11 for next season... De Gea, Rafael (RB), Vidic (CB), Ferdinand (CB), Alaba (RB), Kagawa (LM), Hazard (CAM), Carrick (CDM), Valencia (RM), Rooney (ST) and Lewandowski (ST). Martinez as CDM would be great...or Schweinsteiger but doubtful either will happen!

Ok, we all know about Fergie and united stance on transfers, Youth with potential is the number one priority. United makes players.
Id like to see a mix of youth, quality brought in, with one Big signing.
Youth - Powell and Clyne. Powell looks to be a done deal but i expect him to be loaned out. Clyne wants to join us and would do well to fight for the LB position.
Quality - Kagawa and Strootman. We all saw Kagawa's quality against Bayern. Strootman would do very well to control things in the middle for us.
Big Signing - We have all heard talk about Hazard, Van Persie, etc. Personally I hope its a striker. We have enough Midfielders (yes i know a few are expected to be out-going, but i believe that the players being brought into the squad should suffice) and i dont see hazard fitting into our team with our current style of play (especially if Kagawa comes in), I know Fergie wants to make the team play quicker.
I am aware of the interest in Lewandowski and i hope we do sign him, He has alot of quality and skill and would provide quality beside Rooney.
Overall Ins- Clyne, Kagawa, Strootman, Powell, Lewandowski. Youngsters to be given a chance E.g Pogba, Petrucci.
Overall Outs- Anderson, Berbatov, Park, Macheda, Kuszczak, Fabio being loaned out, Youth (Fergie has confirmed he will be looking to loan out alot of United's youngsters). I also expect next year to be Giggs, Scholes and Ferdinand final playing years at United.
Opinions?

was doing some thinking and was trying to come up with the best team in the world today, came up with a 4-2-3-1 like this
---------------------casillas------------------

alves-------vidic-----kompany---------cole

-------------xavi---------yaya--------------

valencia----------messi------------ronaldo

------------------rooney---------------

bench: RVP, iniesta, pique, martinez, hart, lahm, schweinsteiger

anyone think they got a better team?

Does anybody know if we are going to sign any more
17-18 y/o like Nick Powell.
In my perfect world we would sign
Martinez-32
Hazard-35
Izaguirre-18
Rodrequiz(spelling)-22
Luuk De Jong-15
Shawcross-9
Thats 131 Million Pounds
sell
Young-25
Carrick-10
Evra-26
Berbatov-13
Thats 74 Million Pounds
We lose 57 million Pounds
Then next year we would sign Eriksen for 23 Million Pounds {Ed004's Note - Some of those prices are way over inflated}

Persoanlly I'd go for 5 players even though I feel that it won't happen, but realistically these who I feel we should go for;

Clyne 3m
Baines 10m+
Strootman 7m
Kagawa 10m
Huntelaar/Lewandownski 15-20m

Even though I would like Hazard or Gaitan I feel that on the wings isn't where we need improvement. I would also like Modric now spurs aren't in the CL but he would cost loads. I also feel we need a goalscorer and take the heat off Wazza while nurturing Chicharito and Welbeck {Ed004's Note - If we are going for 5 players I would go Izaguirre, M'Villa (if we can't get Martinez), Ozil, Kagawa, and Hazard, along with selling Young, Evra, Berbatov and possibly Anderson to raise finances}

---------------------DDG
Rafael-----Ferdinand-----Vidic-------Evra/Izza
------------Modric----Pogba/Tunners
-------Toni------Kagawa--------Gaitan
-----------------Rooney

-----------------------------------------------

"That would be my ideal team moon mate, apart Ferdinand I would replace him with Smalling and keep Ferdinand as an experienced back up player. Also do you think we have a realistic chance of keeping Pogba, don't get me wrong I would love for him to stay but I think if was going to stay he would have signed a new contract by now.

CnM"

------------------------------

I would agree with having Smalling instead of Rio actually, obviously there will be a fair bit of rotation but with everybody fit I would expect Smalling to start.

Yeah I do, I think I'm one of the last that haven't given up hope on him. The last few months I think we've seen a big change in his attitude, Everything we leave about him reading is just recycled rubbish. Is there a chance of him leaving? of course there is but there's also just as much chance of us keeping him.

What with the supposed signing of Powell being completed it is hard hard to look past him leave if I'm honest but why can't we have both?

From what I've heard the Juve deal is dead, they want to send him out on loan for a couple of seasons which obviously isn't want Pogba wants. So we'll see whether he wants to play for the United first team now with a decent wage or whether he wants to sign for Juve, get loaned out, and then play for the first team.

Of course though, what people haven't mentioned is that Real, Barcelona, PSG and AC Milan are interested in him as well, so who knows? I hope he stays and I have a feeling he will too.

If he doesn't then we've still got Tunners who, although isn't as gifted technically he's much harder in with the tackle. I don't want to say compare Keane and Yaya because it's to much pressure on the lads but the difference between playing styles is similar to that of those two, so both have good and bad points.

...Also to the poster who said why Pogba/tunners and not Carrick..Well I'll tell you. If we sign Modric then Carrick won't be needed as an out and out first team player, the whole point of the 2 in the 4-2-3-1 formation is to have a box2box tackling minded player and a deep lying playmaker...

Modric----Parker
Khedira---Alonso
Barry---De Jong/Yaya
Bender---Kehl

It works so well and that's why a lot of really well balanced teams use it. If we go into next season with Carrick and Modric it would be no different to Carrick and Scholes...We'll get overrun and bullied off the ball.

all i have been seeing is get hazard get hazard etc well imo if we did sign him he would end up in spain in 3 or 4 years plus i believe he is like nani always comes inside and roams around well we have all seen how good valencia is down the wings he beats his man and delivers thats it and it seems to work better for us so imo we should go all out to sign james rodriguez left footed version of valencia he s explosive fast good delivery of the ball and a good finisher and would stay with us for 10+ years imo {Ed004's Note - But we have all seen how good our free flowing football was at the beginning of the season. Maybe intends to play Nani and Hazard along with a quick midfield such as Kagawa and Cleverley...}

Bilbao patron Josu Urrutia has declared martinez is "not for sale", and would be willing to price Martinez out of the market if the madrid act with "dishonesty".

Martinez is believed to be priced at €40m, a fee the supremo will not budge on, as Bilbao are likely to lose either the versatile performer or striker Fernando Llorente this summer to balance their books.

Nevertheless, Urrutia has allegedly affirmed that he would have no hesitation in discussing Martinez's transfer with Madrid or any other interested parties directly.

You pointed out that Rooney didn't have the pace in the last few games and looked a bit unhappy (suggested something along those lines if i remember correctly), well turns out he has been carrying an injury as revealed by Hodgson.

If the newspapers are to be believed Chelsea are going to throw money at Hazard. Knowing how frugal Gill is and given his comments on our activity I would be surprised to see us buy Hazard unless he only wants to play for us and stands his ground.

There are alternatives Bale now Spurs are not in the CL and someone who impressed me Muniain.

Martinez and Muniain would be a good deal for me. I want a top striker but wonder what we will do now we appear to be doing a deal for the Crewe youngster. The Bayern left back Alaba also impressed me and it is a position to look at.

Hey everybody, been reading/observing the site for a long time now. In my humble opinion what we need is some energy & dynamism in centre midfield. But legs are not enough - Fletcher did that and he was nowhere near Ytd class., I want somebody who can find a pass under pressure, break up an attack, launch our own forwards, exhort our team onto greatness... Who that player/s is are us open to debate, but I reckon Schweinsteiger, Ozil, Fabregas are the sort of players we want. I have complete faith in Fergie but loath the Glazers for shafting Utd.

After watching CL final tonight i have again found myself obsessed with Schweinsteiger, pure class, absolute midfield genrel, he is always looking for the ball and his passing is 10/10, if he wasnt Mr Bayren Munich i think he would be a perfect buy, i also am highly impressed with Toni Kroos, has the same style as bastian but isnt the finished product.
