Interesting game, Pogba was nervous to start but grew as the game went on, the lads a great talent and i'd like to see him in the first team rather than a make shift team. Although i do feel he's a year or two away from being a first team regular, maybe a few games this season then a loan to a good prem team for a season with him coming back and challenging for a place at the start of the 2013/14 season. I think tonight showed that Macheda won't make it at united unfortunatly, he played with his head down and kept running down blind alleys he has gone backward in my opinion. Diouf wasn't great but did his best out of position sadly i also think his time at united won't go beyond this season, he just isn't gonna get the game time. Owen showed that he's still got it and maybe should be on the bench more often then he is, unlucky not to get a hat-trick. Berbatov showed his qualitly in his hold up and link play but still doesn't fit our new system, a good player to have on the bench to bring on to see out a game but not a game changer. Valencia proved how good he is defensively and his positioning is outstanding for a winger, I'd say he's comfortably a better defender then someone like Dani Alves so there is no reason why he couldn't make that position his own if he wanted. Park and Giggs proved there worth to the team and that you can still rely on them. Fabio showed that Evra has real competition for the left back spot. And Cole had a few eye catching moments and marked out that he could be the dark horse to come out of the acadamy. And saving the best for last is Fryers, the lad stepped up and showed his class he was solid at the back and his passing was top quality he was confident and composed through out the only blot was coming off injured tem minutes before the end but he can't help that. The only problem i see for him is the competition he will face to play in the future with Jones Evans and Smalling ahead of him and non of them are old enough to be gone when he breaks through fully. But all in all a good night and a great experiance for some of our youngsters.

Anyone with half a brain has been able to see Pogba's talent since the day he joined the club. Im glad that he had a low key entrance at first team level tonight as I fear many were hoping he would step straight in and be the new Vieira. The lad showed good touches and a decent passing range tonight but lets not forget he is only 18 and still has the rest of this season and possibly 1 or 2 out on loan before he will fulfill his potential.

Decent game tonight. Owen shows he still has the class and Valencia put a great shift in at RB, along with Fryers at CB. On the down side Berbatov looked like he didn't really want to be there, Macheda was extremely sloppy and in my opinion Diouf didn't do much. Shame that Pogba didn't start and despite a few loose passes he clearly looks a talent, very composed on the ball and can definitely pick out a pass. It will be interesting to see what SAF does with Pogba now.

One other point, the Stoke game has gone into extra time and whilst most of them won't play against us at the weekend, the more tired legs the better.

Arsenal are to bid 50m for Berbatov. Wenger considers him the best centre half by miles at Arsenal!

I actually put that line up ! one of the eds must of not bothered to put it up ;) seriously though strange line up, but seems to be working a treat at the moment, owens showing he deserves more runs out then hes been getting, would like to see him with rooney while pea is out. SUB PREDICTIONS anyone?! welbeck(owen)/pogba(giggs)/fabio(m.keane, due to yellow card)...... Is it true that leeds is the wheel chair capital?

just thinking, for 2 teams with such rivalry isn't it suprising how many players have swapped between us over the years.
Cantona, strachen, sharpe, rio, smithy to name but a few.
Can't think of any other teams of the top of my head that we have traded such big names

I had my suspicions Zeki Fryers may play at CB yesterday, but never could have predicted Carrick playing alongside him. You can see SAF is just trying to keep all of his players happy by this line-up. Hope it doesn't backfire as it could be hard to gel when players are out of position. Seems Amos gets the League cup games, De Gea gets the League games and Lindegaard will get FA cup & Champs league games.

Leeds better hope it isn't all United attack after attack as we have four strikers on the pitch. Hope we can go two goals clear by halftime so we can get to see Pogba.

Can't wait to see Pogba tonight really hoping he shines on his debut. Pity that Morrison is injured though as this would be a great game for him to get some experience in. Going with 2-0 to United tonight with Berbatov and Park scoring. Feel sorry for Berba because I really feel pressure is on him to perform. As much as his 1st team chances look slim this is really his first chance to do anything this season. The only way he is going to get a sniff this season is if he bangs them in whenever he gets the chance.

Not related to United but am posting it cause its hilarious( Read this somewhere). You all remember how ronaldo said after zagreb match that people abused him because he is 'good-looking, rich and a great footballer'. Now Barca president Sandro Rosell has responded by saying that physically he prefers messi over ronaldo. I think now he is taking it all to a different level.

Why are the Glazers giving these staff bonus'?! i dont think its got anything to do with Qatari money but i do think its strange. Im glad to hear it though as i think the staff thoroughly deserve it, 'little people' and all that. Though regarding this supposed takeover there is beginning to be quite a few little bit of evidence and pointers here and the there now. On another note cannot wait for the game tonight, should be an absolute cracker, the Leeds lads are up for it and they always give a good game.

Hi Guys
after my successful prediction on Sunday lets see if I can keep the run going.Obviously alot depends on the team tonight but I'm going to go for 2-1 to us.I think Berba will play and score.Like everyone else I'm looking forward to seeing Pogba play.I've seen him many times for the Acadamy and I'm optimistic he can make the step up.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of phil Jones, but i was talking to a mate of mine today and he also says he's very good however when he plays at CB you'll often notice he gets caught out of position a lot seeing as he's very attacking. a lot like David Luiz at Chelsea. well, I'm undecided on it at the moment although i have been frustrated with him once or twice, but nothing major, after all he's 19.

my point being, what does everybody think about his positioning?

When Torres missed the open goal (I feel so sorry for him! he had a great game) Jones is just outside the Centre Circle, now they didn't counter us or anything like that, so why was he there?

Personally i think as times go on he'll pick up experience and sort his positioning out and i also think it's no biggie. but what are your thoughts?

Eds, Regulars...

we have been playing great open football but we have been caught out at the back numerous times in every game so far. it has been exciting to watch and it seems fergie is trying something different to try and beat barca. i personally feel this is the right thing to do as madrid proved it to everyone in the spanish super cup. over the 2 legs madrid attacked and pressured barca and were able to challenge them and it took a 90th minute goal from messi to win it for barca. we are stronger at the back then madrid and hopefully the attackive capability of our team will challenge barca once more as it seems the champs league final will be the same 2 teams again unless we meet before the final.

cant wait for tonight having our old friends back at elland road, I do miss our matches Leeds Man Utd is always a great match, you will probably do us but one thing we do have in common is we both have owners who are in it for themselves just yours have a bit more money and will fork some of it out, we have Mr bates from Chelsea who does not care about us, he has even given the members pavillion over to the coperate sponsors what a man. Have a good night and remember January 3rd when you thought you would beat us. Marching On Together

Was having a convo with another football fan about the next United gaffer. The name Ole G. S. came up and I was wondering what everyone thought about him coming in in 2 years or so to take over from SAF. I could potentially see great things - but maybe that's just the bias in me talking.
