Jesus christ.

Just seen klopps post match comment

They drew because of a dry pitch. But it didn't stop tgem going 2-0 up!

What a bell end.

Just a little disrespectful to west brom going on about the championship, kliperty the clown.

Don’t forget him blaming the referee too. If that was Jose he’d get a touchline ban. Klopp won’t even get a warning.

22 Apr 2018 00:38:45
He's an embarrassment. Really is a numpty. Didn't see him celebrating the draw this time though.

Agree5 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 07:57:58
Wonder if he would have been complaining about the pitch if they hadn’t let a 2 goal lead slip?

Imagine the media furore if Jose had said that’s. Klopp’s a muppet.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes, he has been complaining about dry pitches since the day he came to England! Just because the media suddenly latch on to it doesn't mean it is news. It causes injuries.}

22 Apr 2018 08:07:38
At least he didn't blame the colour of there tops ;)

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Apr 2018 09:55:57
Then he said something along the lines that a draw was useless for WBA but a win would have been very useful for liverpool. Did he just want WBA to sit back and let Liverpool win just because its more useful? What a complete dick. If mourinho had said that or complained about a dry pitch, the press would've hung him out to dry.
It was great to see the passion in WBA players when the equalized. So it wasn't useless Mr Klopp.

Klopp next to ramos is one of the most hateful people in world football imo. i'd rather spend an hour in the company of trump than klopp. A complete bufoon imo.

I think today was continued proof of progress coupled with success under Jose. Our record in big games is much improved and every aspect of our game is better than it was the season before. Long may Jose remain in charge as far as I am concerned if progress continues.

21 Apr 2018 23:22:55
He’s stabilising the club, and irrespective of what he does/ doesn’t win next year the club will be in a better place than when he joined. I still think he could be with us for many more years. Right now he’s putting trophies in the cabinet with a poor squad. What more can people ask for?

Agree7 Disagree1

22 Apr 2018 06:50:35
I not a fan of Jose but yA u can’t argue with the stats. Mor poimts, more goals, fewer conceded, 6th last year and likely 2nd this year with another Cup Final. Whilst I don’t like him I guess we have to be careful what we wish for. Look at Southampton. Last year they finished 8th (albeit in a congested table) and got to the League Cup Final. Unhappy with the style they sacked their Manager and are now going to be relegated. Interestingly Puel has rescued Leicester this year. Go figure.

22 Apr 2018 10:05:30
Timbo. I'm not Mourinho's biggest fan but he has brought stability. The style of play leaves a lot to be desired. But to say our squad is "poor" is ridiculous. We have an excellent squad and points dropped against huddersfield, Newcastle WBA and Burnley cost us massively. I also think the cowardly way we played against City at OT was when we surrendered the title like whimps.
Display against Seville was another terrible performance full of fear. Instead of going out to win.
We are in a final amd likely to face chelsea, who are our nemesis. So before we jump in celebration, we should think about the terrible perfornances in some of the big games against City and Seville at OT which cost us two posdible trophies.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Apr 2018 11:02:58
AAA. A SQUAD that has no proper high end full backs and only 4 experienced midfielders for 3 positions can be described as poor. We are improving the squad now we have a proper mananger hopfully after the summer you can say its a good squad. Its still a squad with too nany glarung deficiences to be called a good squad. Fellaini was our only sub midfielder so that's enough to call it a poor squad. Young and valencia starting full back weekly that's a poor squad. Manager working his magic keeping them competitive.
Best post in months ajh.
I get the feeling some fans watched the win through gritted teeth yesterday.
No sign of the sanchez detractors today.
Pogba and sanchez can't play in same team my ass.
Not too many people clamouring for martial to have started yesterday now. Let jose flip his few players then get on with catching city because he will. He knows what he is doing.

Decent performance, long time coming. First 20 was woeful but thought they played well after, especially second half. Well in lads.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed004's Note - Some excellent performances out there. Thought Herrera should have won man of the match but Sanchez, Pogba, Jones and Smalling all had excellent games. We so badly need to fix the fullback positions as they were both liabilities all game while offering nothing offensively}

21 Apr 2018 19:33:38
Good team performance imo today.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 19:34:45
Good post that ed. I thought Herrera was very good too but Pogba and Sanchez had a very good game as well.

Jones and Smalling our playing for their careers at the moment and shoukd be pkaying like this more often.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed004's Note - It was good to see the Big players stepping up to the occasion }

21 Apr 2018 19:36:09
Agrees ed the full backs need to be looked at. The rest of the team did very well.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed004's Note - Its a real shame that Smallings not slightly better on the ball and that Jones wasn't so injury prone or we could have ignored another cb this season}

21 Apr 2018 19:44:04
Need full backs badly. Cbs were excellent today. Midfield were good after 1st 20 but we need to sign at least one probably 2. We are covered up front imo.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Apr 2018 19:44:32
Herrera should definitely have been MotM, some great balls and defensive work to add to that goal. Pogba and Sanchez were both good though, and the CBs were solid.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Apr 2018 20:00:21
Fantastic result. But i thought we were woeful in first 20mins. We looked shambolic in defence and each time, we allowed spurs to come at us without any challenge or pressing. They were unlucky not to score more before we started playing.
I wasn't totally convinced with the performance but a great result. If chelsea beat the Saints tomorrow and we start the game as we did, then we will lose.

Great performance and goal from Sanchez. Herrera played well. Desperately need two quality full backs.
Would love it if Southampton turned Chelsea over tomorrow.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Apr 2018 20:39:19
Martial would look underwhelmed if he scored a 94th minute winner in the World Cup Final on his birthday on the same day his first child was born to Jennifer Lawrence.

Agree7 Disagree1

21 Apr 2018 21:03:11
That was most agreeable. However I agree on fullbacks and this will be sorted in the summer. 3 man midfield was superb and baffled why we don’t do this every week. Spurs have a lot of offensive weapons and were always going to cause us headaches. Well deserved victory and Spurs do a Spurs.

22 Apr 2018 10:07:52
I really like Herrera, he's great at disrupting the midfield and making himself a nuisance. But I've noticed that he will move out of the way if someone is shooting from distance. He did it yesterday in the second half when Eriksen shot wide, he shifted a yard to his left and gave him room. I recall him ducking out of the way when he was in a wall once as well which resulted in a goal. Minor moan over.
Hope the Saints win today, would be good to have Sparky in the other dug out on Cup Final day.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

21 Apr 2018 20:05:20
To be fair deano i'm not sure he could have done much more his subs did ok.
Kane and the goal apart alli were played out of the game. Their passing was not on point and when you depend on that sorr of pass and move game and its not coming off there is not a great deal he can do.
He has not got it right yet in the really big games. So there is something that needs fixing. But once the first one comes for him i think the floodgates will open. He will get better. He is only at the top end of the game now for 3 or 4 seasons. He has built this team but not finding a truce in a year long row with imo 2 of the best in their positions in the league in alderwireld and rose and playing them every week is costing them imo. If he gets a big job and i'm sure he will then he has to learn how to deal with big egos axing them from squads for prolonged periods won't work and doesn't work long term he should have found a soon by now particularly with alderwireld.

I think the spurs team will break up soon and poch will be fired within 3 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 22:39:34
Had a debate with a mate of mine tonight. Spurs built on sand. Once Poch leaves, and he will, they’ll go back to their usual level whearas now Wenger has gone, Arsenal are the real threat when they regroup. Great stadium, youth set up, location and cash.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 23:01:35
The comment masterclass in chokery. sure he hasn't won a trophy yet, but from what I can see he is an extremely talented coach and has over achieved with Spurs. To be a constant in the top 4 for the last number of years in a league where other teams around them spend a lot more is an incredible achievement. He will go to Barcelona or Real soon and win lots of trophies.

He is at a level with spurs now that is about right. To be able to win the league or do better in Europe, he would have to be able to compete better financially and that is just not possible with rich teams such as city, united, Chelsea, arsenal and even Liverpool at this moment. This whole case of being a choker to me is nonsense. Spurs lost to the better team today.

Agree3 Disagree2

22 Apr 2018 00:41:58
To be honest most of us on here could probably manage Barcelona or real and win trophies.

Agree1 Disagree5

22 Apr 2018 06:52:19
I think Poch will walk. He is clearly very ambitions and hamstrung with the wage structure at Spurs. He won’t to stay if he feels he can’t win things there so I think he will look elsewhere.

22 Apr 2018 07:40:20

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 08:18:12
Spurs won't win anything anytime soon whenever the get to a position where they can they choke and seeing as how people blame our manager for everything I think poch is choker in chief at spurs .

Don't misunderstand me I enjoy the way spurs play and he is potentially a good coach but until that albatross is taken from around his neck he is still just another bloke who doesn't win anything.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 09:06:59
Spurs are a top 4 team for the first time in for ever . Are people maybe a bit quick to point out negatives .
A lot was made of how much city spend, well have a look how much spurs spend on players and wages compared to arsenal Chelsea United city the scouse .

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 10:13:04
Short sighted of you deano. poch will won trophies, no doubt. He has spurs playing way above their station.

Choker in chief is a ridiculous statement. Just sounds as though you have an issue with him or issue with people liking him.

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Apr 2018 11:43:15
No angel I have no issue with him at all in fact I thoroughly enjoy the way spurs play as I have said above.
I wish that some of our own fans were as vociferous in their support of our own club, players and manager.

And the fact that whenever spurs get to the point of taking the next step they choke.
Fact.

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Apr 2018 14:45:51
Or deano, they just lose to a better team? That's more of a fact.

Spurs aren't as good as people make out. Poch has that team playing way above where they really are.

Sure they've got close a few times and when they do they have lost to a better side. That's not about choking, that's about quality. Quality that poch has not got at his disposal.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 16:47:38
No quality? 🙄 really, he has one of the best forwards in Europe a great centreback pairing quick fullbacks a decent keeper. Very shortsighted from you angel.

They choked the year Leicester won the title. Ended up third. Souuld have won it.

1999 Giggs
Hard acts to follow.

I’m with Timbo, I was at Villa Park that day. 1-0 down to a Woodcock goal and then screamers from Robson and Whiteside, all 3 goals at my end. I guess ‘99 is up there as well, down to 10 men and conceding a penalty in the last minute. Football, bloody hell.

1985 United v Liverpool, both intense games. Goodison atmosphere was savage. Obviously the reply was much better. First time for me at any semi finals, first game nearly broke me.
United v Oldham 1990 was a cracking match as well.
I really don't like the semi finals being played at Wembley.
Hope the true spirit of the club turns up today and United win in style.

RedMan. Giggs goal against Arsenal was great. But my favorite was the match against Derby (who were the best team in the land) and Gordon Hill scored a fantastic goal. I was there that day. We got pelted with stones and rocks on the way back from Hillsborough by some Leeds fans who had come out for a fight.
Gerry Daly played brilliantly that day against a Derby midfield containing bruce rioch and archie gemmill. Fantastic day.

I went to both semi and the reply in 1990 Beast. Classics.

AAA

I couldn’t get tickets for 76 or 99. My first semi of actually going was 79 at Maine Road. Was at both semis in 85 and the Goodison one was a war zone, disgusting what the Scousers did that day. I was annoyed in 99, despite being a ST holder I couldn’t get tickets for the semi or final and luckily managed to get Nou Camp tickets from another source.

76 holds a special place because I started supporting in late 68 after the European cup so that game against Derby was the first after years of issues that got us to a final. MOTD was a Liverpool love in, people have no idea these days. Derby were really good then, I remember watching Charlie George play for them at OT in early 70’s class act.
The goals yesterday were not classics but it’s always good to win the semi.

Fa cup was huge when I was a youngster the final was pretty much the only game on TV and got more build up than a general election . The only other game that you seemed able to watch on TV was a schoolboy international, I can tell you pretty much nothing about Paul Rideout's career but lots of people knew his name forever because of one schoolboy game .

Not our 1st target nowadays but its still one of the 4 competitions we can win and its great to be still in it.
Hoping that we can win the midfield battle today. i'd like to see herrera play and get in and around erickson. One thing is for sure we need the whole side to be at their best today and be be clinical with our chances. Really looking forward to it.

agree. 433 suits best imo with the players available. With matic herrera pogba. Its a straight 3 from rom mata sanchez jessie rash and martial.
Jessie has a good wembely and big game record. So has a great chance of starting but he also has a good record when introduced from the bench. Rom is probably a certain starter. Big question is who gets the other 2 spots. i'd go for rash and sanchez and i'd look to jessie or mata from the bench.

Contribute to a debate from last night guys. If you could sign a 22 year old De Gea or Schmeichel today, which would you choose and primarily why?

My choice was Schmikes because of his willingness to verbally bash a teammates when needed. I also believe that he was marginally a better keeper with outstanding distribution.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

21 Apr 2018 09:11:06
Pete commanded his box better and was a better all-around keeper.

Agree3 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 09:39:44
Schmeichel changed the art of goalkeeping, which is a pretty big endorsement. And while his agility was great for a fella his size, DDG's reactions are the best I've ever seen in a goalie. If I had to pick one, it would be big Pete, for the reason jred mentioned. Better all round keeper.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 10:30:15
Big pete. Best I've ever seen as noucamp says he changed the art of goalkeeping. A fearsome character and competitor. He frightened opponents and teammates alike. Left us too early imo.
Ddg is for me the best in the world at the moment. But imo pete is still the best we've ever had.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 11:05:46
Big Pete intimidated the opponents strikers was great at 1v1s made himself so big and just the size of him made him imposing and dominated the box. DDG better shot stopper and currently best in the world.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 11:53:13
Big Pete was just a man mountain of a man. He commanded his box so well and that is such an integral part to the British game as a goal keeper. David is a better shot stopped perhaps the best I have ever seen. But he can still be a bit shakey at times under the high ball. A mixture of two would have been super human. We have been blessed to have had both of them at our club. Hope we can keep hold of David for many more years to come.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 12:13:29
I would go Van Dee Saar personally best of both.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 12:14:03
Vds was very close to both. Again if he had replaced big pete it would have been awesome. A calming presence and pretty much error free in his whole tome with us. Betty much am unsung hero when compared with pete and ddg. 3 class acts.

21 Apr 2018 12:42:12
They are different type of keepers. It all depends on what the team needs. De Gea can still improve so it is hard to say who is inferior.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 14:20:02
I grew up watching us around the time of Barthez and Roy Carroll. van der Saar was outstanding, and I’ve watched many videos and games of big pete. For me Both Schmeichel and VDS had great back 4s in front of them, something which De Gea really isn’t had. its hard to pick just one as all three are truly world class.
Caolán.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Apr 2018 14:27:24
Anyone would do, Big Pete or Dave the save. But Pete is all from videos and old footage and Dave from games so I go for DDG. What would be your choice ed1 always love your takes on these sorts of things?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - has to be Schmeichel, he dominated the penalty area in a way de Gea never does. He ran the defence as well, whereas modern keepers just keep goal.}

21 Apr 2018 16:27:58
Thanks ed1.
I don't think there is anyone of the Schmeichel anymore. Must say we have had some of the best ever GK in the PL era (some ones too) . Schmeichel is probably the best in PL era (most people express that)

Tough one to call. De Gea really did weather a storm when he first arrived and he has kept us in so many games. Has an amazing temperament and mental strength.
But Schmeichel pips it for me. A winner and warrior, he dominated opponents with his presence and bloody minded mentality. A truly great signing by Ferguson.
Not many shout outs for Paddy Roche who cost us the title in '75.
I think a lot of today's top keepers like to play the "sweeper keeper" if the defence is playing a high line, they have to. Ederson is a good example, he's really surprised me, his distribution is excellent. De Gea used to really be able to ping those passes out but this season, his distribution has been the poorest part of his game and he's actually a very good passer of the ball.

Schmeichel all day long. Commanded the area and organized defence. Ddg doesn't do either.

Schmeichel not just for commanding the defence but because one on one the big Dane was the best I have ever seen, always felt no one could beat him when they ran in on goal.
