right so when Tom Cleverley was playing we where the best team about playing amazing football his quick movement and short passing made us worldclass and when he makes his come back everything will be ok.

OR at the start of the season young nani and rooney were also ripping team's apart while our back 4 where exposed by a centre pairing off anderson and cleverly.

now in a few years time cleverly will be a top player and maybe when he has played a few season's for united and became an england regular and is half the player scholes was we can class him as our saviour but untill then NO.

Come on boys the scouse and ***tty must be pi%%ing themselves clevs is a young lad who has played a handful off games ,is he of the standard of Ozil Gotze Sneider Silva Xavi Inesta Martineza or Scholes Kean Ince Robson no not YET, to think when he comes back everything will be ok is naive and clutching at straw's
The truth is we are missing in midfield and cleves is part of the future not the miracle solution for now.

1/ shanks found it hard to let go , bob pasiley needed to do things his own way and be in charge , down the training ground etc ,when saf goes , dont think he will be doing this either , do you.
2/ city over utd , no , just stating facts as i see them , in football if you have the best squad nine times out of ten you will be top , its good having pride , but also its good having common -sense
3/didnt know you were such a big susan boyle fan , so all her tickets were sold out quick were they , oh well , think shes brining out a new album , so get your pre-orer in for it , down your local record shop, all the best mate ...........lfc

Giggs isnt fit to play for UTD now. Hopefully Cleverley is back to re unite him with Anderson in midfield and maybe play Fletcher as holding midfielder with Rooney upfront and nani and young on wings.

I trully think we need a DM midfielder for us to excel as this seems to be our weak point for a while.

G.A.G.U.S -

Just saw your post on the Conspiracies website, it is a little weird I'll give you that.

Munich final this year? finally topple Barcelona? possible.

..

I read a couple of days ago on here that i'm showing my colours of being football before United, and although i've got no problem in admitting that.

1) It doesn't change the fact that I'm as much of a United fan as the next guy that posts on here.

2)Being polite, and understanding rival view points (i believe in this case it was about a cycle seen in football clubs where the results start to get poor, then turning on the manager, etc) - although i didn't agree with him, I simply stated that it's happened a lot over the years and it COULD happen to us, I don't think it will at all but he had a point in what he was saying, he posted to us with courtesy so why can't we do the same back? he made a fair point, I gave him some credit but gave him 1 or 2 reasons why i believe it wouldn't happen to United.

..

3rd point, This weekends game, I don't think Vidic will start it when you take into account he has a hard time against quick, agile players and that he's not looking sharp at all, we'll most likely go with Giggs starting in CM alongside either Park or Carrick, I can imagine a pretty similar team to the Liverpool game with the exceptions of the formation and the wings.

GK: De Gea
LB: Evra
CB: Evans
CB: Rio
RB: Smalling/Jones
RM: Nani
CM: Fletcher/Carrick/Park
CM:Giggs
LM: Young
CF: Rooney
FW: Hernandez

The scoreline itself? I'm really not to sure about, it's a derby so things like Form go out the window, I'd take a score draw. I'll go for a 3-2 win.

Scorers:
Rooney
Aguero
Yaya
Nani
Welbeck (off the bench)

On a completely different note, Although this lad is currently on a big money deal, maybe we should go in for Dzsudzsak in the winter as a back up winger?

You may of noticed i've been following the Russian League a little, and from what i've seen of this lad he reminds me of a raw Ronaldo or Sanchez. Albeit he is 24.

Anyway, Have a good weekend guys.

The Moon.

keep hearing we are interested in Gareth Bale, and Fergie seems to be praising Wilshere quite a fair bit

Tickets for all 3 dates so very happy. What is it with you Liverpool supporters has your team become so bad that you have to now start backing City. Have some pride for gods sake. I started to read that stupid one about Sir Alex from some knob called King Kenny but i just thought to myself whats the point and why had the ed even allowed this on our site. Thank god we have never treated one of our managers the way Liverpool treated shankly who used to come and watch United and Everton as he wasn't welcome at Anfield. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Right i think it's obvious that we all feel we need a new midfielder, but we can't agree on who we need. We all feel the team plays much better with Cleverley, but why is that? Well i think it's to do with the attributes that Cleverley has which our other midfielder lack.

I don't think we need a "DM", this is because the only time you need such a midfielder is when your playing a team better than yourself, is it worth spending money on a player that we would only maybe need once or twice a year at most? We have Jones who can fill that role on the odd occasion we need someone like that, and play him in his favoured role as a defender the rest of the time.

Nor do i think we need an "AM", when have we ever played with an AM? That kind of midfielder needs to be part of a midfield three to make sure there is enough cover for when he's attacking and to keep balance. Anderson can do this role if we needed to play such tactics, and Rooney's favoured(and proberly best) position is in that area an AM would play in thus making it foolish to spend money on such a player.

If you look at our other central midfielders: Fletcher, Carrick, Anderson, Giggs and Gibson(included as he's still at the club atm, but not the youngsters) and you'll notice something. None of them have the movement and tactical awearness that Cleverley has. When Cleverley isn't in pocession he is making himself available to pass to with his off the ball movement and his reading of the game, he doesn't panic when put under pressure as his vision has allowed him to know where everyone is and thus he knows who he is going to pass to so we can keep pocession. When he is injured or not playing we struggle to have the same fluidity, he is the oil that makes the machine work seemlessly.

So we need another midfielder who has that off the ball movement, calmness under pressure and vision with excellent game reading ability, not someone who will score 20 goals or someone who'll just break up opposition play. Someone like Moutinho or someone similar. Imagin how good we'd be if we had two people like Cleverley who can keep pocession and defend and spring attacks. Hey it works at Barca(Xavi, Inestia).

I'd love to hear who you guys think would be good for this role, thanks.

Alryt guys, just read this somewhere;

On the positive side, Tom Cleverley is set to return to the United line-up on Sunday. Cleverley has been out six weeks after spraining ankle ligaments during United’s 5-0 win at Bolton. But while United were on Champions League duty in Romania this week, Cleverley underwent three days of intensive solo training and is ready to play. (Apologies for copy & paste)

You people going on about cleverley not being good enough to replace scholes.

Your all wrong, when he gets back to fitness he'll be bossing it as per usual!

I really feel that United's interest in Gotze is huge, I can see him coming here - he has been flattered by our interest as he has said in the past and i think he'd be fantastic for us. I really hope he signs, he'd complete the squad.

Dear Sir Alex x,

I am writing to you to thank you for all of your endeavors to keep up the spirits of my fellow supporters at Liverpool football club. I acknowledge all you have done in football even if it has taken your club over a quarter of a century to be on almost equal terms with the might of Liverpool football club. However, I do sympathize with your own professional frustrations , like your predecessors before you, such as Matt Busby, your exploits in football have merely been rewarded with knighthood. I can only imagine your own disappointment, when you face the mighty Kop, with all those flags of King Kenny, King Paisely, King Shankley - such titles only bestowed only on true legends of the game that we call football. I can only imagine and sympathize with you, when you face Liverpool, with all those chants of Dalglish, Dalglish, Dalglish (I’m sure you hear them well enough on the television). I do feel for you, that your own blessed Stretford End has never once, chanted your own name. I can only imagine how small you must really feel, when I vainly zip-up my own KD range tracksuit at the football match. I think it is a real scandal in football that there does not exist a similar Manchester United AF range! As a consolation, I suggest Man United commence immediately, with a similar commercial venture entitled the ‘FA’ range, because you’ve achieved virtually F**k All in the last 25 years except close the historical gap between our clubs - and we’re still ahead! In the days Liverpool conquered England, they conquered Europe and maybe this is why Liverpool fans choose to chant my name and wave flags of me across Anfield. After all these years, I do confess, I truly feel sorry for you and I can only imagine how it is to be second best - once upon a time Shankley told me, first is first, second is nothing and I understand this is not easy for you. But as a token of good faith between our clubs and in recognition of all your achievements in the last quarter of a century, I am going to send to old Trafford a dirty pair of my old football boots (the ones that I myself lifted 3 European cups in, as many as your club has achieved in it’s entire history) because - let justice be justice - and after all these years, Six Alex, I do admit you and Man United , are just about fit to clean my boots.

Your Sincerely

King Kenny –V

PS the V does not represent the number of times Liverpool have won the European cup, but f**k-off!

Fergie will not be making many and any big signings in january,,it could be 1 left back to cover Evra who could be Leighton Baines of Everton,,a defensive midfielder were phil jones played against liverpool, who could be brazilian lucas of Santos and a striker ricky wolfswel...of Sporting Lisbon lastly we might have a surprise as He bids for Modric who isnt CL cup tied..We might sell Owen to QPR,loan Macheda to QPR,,Carrick,Diouf and Gibson....EDD this is 85% likely to happen..

The Guardian have SAF choosing the typical line-up for Sunday. This one:

___________Quintana

Jones____Ferdy____Vidic____Evra

_______Fletcher___Anderson

L.Nani_______Rooney_______Young

___________Hernandez

But I cannot see any other line-up than this one:

___________Quintana

Small____Ferdy____Vidic____Evra

____Fletch___Jonah___Giggsy

__SJPark____Rooney____Young

I believe we will line-up like this, but I do prefer the first line-up. Swap Jones for Smalling and Anderson for Jones and that would be my preferred line-up.

Ed, can you post this in banter please?

ok some friday fun. Couple of quiz questions. No cheating.

1. Name 2 strikers who scored 100 or more premier league goals but no penalties.

2. Who has scored at the most premier league grounds.

3. Name the 11 teams who were founder members of the premier league but are no longer in the premier league.

Rincewind4. Name four teams that contain all the letters from the word goal in their names.

Just on the Pogba debate it seems to me like the lads head has either been turned or that maybe he feels like he should be more involved in the first team and is prob just not getting motivated enough for meaningless mostly non competitive reserve games.
Fergie himself has stated that if he doesnt use the kid he will end up losing him like we did others (Rossi Pique etc ) but yet the kid has got a second half run out in the carling cup !
He needs to involve these guys more even if its just on the bench for a home game against what would be seen as weaker opposition.
I know after the weekend we have a good run of fixtures til the new year and thats when we will see if Pogba and the likes are even anywhere near the first team this season.

TIME TO HAND OVER YOUR CROWN
this weekend will see a momentous change in the manchester football landscape ,as man city look like being crowned the new kings of manchester, watching saf at the moment reminds me of that lad holding his finger on the damm wall trying to force back the inevitably of a bigger fresher team taking over , a midfield short on class for a top side together with some ageing , and some stale players , mean a major injury to rooney say , would finish any title hopes off this season , with chelski and city in a straight fight for the premership , with city buying up most of the worlds top players its just a question of time , in a way i will be sad to see this , as who else can i banter with , i tryed the city site but the last post was something like tuesday...2010 , ......telling the truth as always even if it hurts , but hey the truth cant lie...........lfc

So Micah Richards say's United are frightened by City!

What on earth is he on about? Sure, we expect City to challenge for OUR title but frightened??

Fergie's gonna love these comments and will put a spin on them to rally up the 'everyone hates us and wants us to fail' hype!

We've faced pretty much every single decent side in Europe over the last 2 years and controlled most of the games, with the exception of Barcelona. So I can't see United being scared of City what so ever!

If anything I think this is a simple case of City trying to talk their game up but I fully expect a Untied win. It thi nk City's back four is no where near solid particularly at full back and expect Nani and Young to be instremental in tomorrows game.
I also hope Anderson plays, he's staring to look more and more like the all round midfielder and also started to add the much needed goals to his game.

All in all, shoudl be a cracker.

4-1 to the BIG club.!
