Jupp Heynckes' agent has claimed that Bayern Munich have a deal in place to sign Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

According to the representative of outgoing Bayern boss Heynckes, Enrique Reyes, the German giants have also wrapped up a similar deal for their rivals' star forward.

"Bayern have signed Lewandowski, " he told COPE.

"Yes, right now, they have Lewandowski and Gotze. The problem is that Bayern have a lot of money. They are doing what they did with [former Athletic Bilbao midfielder] Javi Martinez.

"If a club don't want to negotiate with you, what do you do? Why, pay the buy-out clause, of course. "

Have we missed out

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There is no buy out clause in Lewandowski's contract so I don't believe he has signed for Bayern. He only has one season left on his contract so, despite their protestations, Dortmund will be under pressure to sell him this Summer.

New to the site and have become addicted very quickly, Eds do a fantastic job! Just one question, what's the story with the dude Sydney that thinks he's SAF. ?

Ernesto {Ed004's Note - Surprised you haven't realised that Syd is SAF}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sydney is just one of a number of 'regular' posters on here that post a few times a day. He has strong opinions like many others and sometimes people like to post and ask for his opinion. He is well respected on here and very passionate about the club, even if sometimes lots of people disagree with him.

The fact people come on here and ask for 'eds / Sydney's' opinion on certain things says a lot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed04 & GDS was genuinely interested in what the story was I've noticed many posters requests Sydney's opinion, the SAF comment was just in jest

Welcome on board Ernesto

Sydney, Shappy, Stevie, Jred, Tk, ports, Dodgy, Fresh, Jono when his wife allows it and many more guys are mad supporters and regular posters.

Everyone is quite knowledgeable and informed however if you have been reading and following the site we don't always agree on things :)

What is cool about our group, we are by far the most civilized and respectful bunch when compared to some of the other clubs rumour pages, if you have ever read them and probably the most active.

The eds are also great and very knowledgeable. The only thing missing is if we could get Ed002 to convert and support a proper club :)

So respectful banter and disagreement is welcome.

So with Gotze going to Munich that's him out of the question for now. I think we still need to sign a new creative midfielder. Ozil and Muller would be very good signings for us and what are the chances of us signing Alen Halilovic?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Whats wrong with Kagawa? Has the talent to surpass both Ozil and Muller.

Agree0 Disagree0

Need to sign a creative midfielder? well if SAF realised we had one of the best talents around in Kagawa in the number 10 role then we wouldn't need one. All we need to do is play him in the right position and sign some wingers who can beat a man and a holding midfielder.

Are United in pole position to sign Lewandowski?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Apr 2013 21:41:08
And this tonight is evidence has to why some of us have been saying Lewandowski is a better option than Cavani, Falcao etc due to the money needed and just talent for his age. I would love to see an overhaul in style of play next season. an anchoring midfield of Carrick and Strootman with an interchanging 3 of Kagawa, Rodriguez and RVP and a front man in Lewandowski would be immense or even take wingers out of the first 11 and play a 4312 with Carrick, Strootman and Rooney behind Kagawa then RVP and Lewy up top with the likes of Zaha and Young on the bench if need be. {Ed004's Note - I would be happy with that but would like another midfielder tbh. However, would people fancy risking playing RVP deeper?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hooray, people at last coming to what I've been saying for a year. Need to change the old style of football we play, and get some modern tactics in.
Will fergie do it though? Doubt it.
Nomidfield

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm still of the belief that a lot of RVP's injuries at Arsenal were as a direct result of him dropping deep. It's only been over the past few seasons where he's played and stayed up top that he has remained injury free. I wouldn't want to risk it.

I would however be happy to see us removing wingers from our playing style and adopting a 4222 or 4312 type formation. It's served us well in the past but all 3 of our 'wingers' have been poor this season. Valencia may get back to his best but the cost of replacing Nani and Young makes me think a change might make better sense financially.

As for whether Lewandowski is a better option than Cavani or Falcao, I'm still not convinced. I must confess that this time last season I was skeptical as to whether he could replicate his fantastic form. Not only has he done that; he has also improved. Is he better than the two guys you mentioned? Probably not. Not at this moment at least.

People are under the illusion that he'll be sold for less than £20m this summer. I expect him to go for at least £30m - especially after tonights performance. Napoli are making a move for Cavani impossible with their ridiculous valuation - but if we can pick up Falcao for £20-25m and Chico then I'd sooner we signed him than Lewandowski (who I see going to BM anyway). I'd miss Chico - but he's too good to sit on the bench.

T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004 - I am on the fence with the idea of RVP playing deeper and would prefer Kagawa in the number 10 role with a winger like Rodriguez bought in but how can you not play Lewy and RVP at the same time? Rooney imo has to go he is offering a half decent job in midfield but blocking Kagawa's development and doesn't look half the player he was 3 years ago. So maybe a diamond formation with Carrick at the base, Rodriguez on the left, Valencia on the right and Kagawa in the number 10 with RVP and Lewy up top. It is a little too attacking for my taste but how can you bench either striker. {Ed004's Note - Well if you have good enough full backs offensively ie Rafael and Baines then they can provide the width. Have a holding two of Carrick and Strootman with an interchanging front 3 of Rodriguez, Kagawa and RVP then Lewandowski up top?}

Agree0 Disagree0

TOMBOZ - I could not agree more about the Falcao idea. Hernandez for me will only ever be a quality impact player against tiring defenders. If we could sell Hernandez or part exchange him to get either Falcao or Lewandowski I will be one very happy chap. I also agree Falcao is more talented right now but he is a few years older than Lewandowski and would demand much more in a transfer fee and wages with the possibility of Lewy becoming just as good if not better for much less.

Agree0 Disagree0

TOMBOZ

RVP struggles with injuries earlier is actually the opposite of what you have describes. There is an interview with him that I read somewhere, where he actually says one of the reason's for his injuries in his early years was that he was playing on top and getting the lumps kicked out of him and physically beaten up by 2 big CB game in game out.

He also goes on to state that the reason he has been injury free is that he is changed his playing position now dropping a little back where he finds more room to operate and also not as physically demanding.

I'm gunna ask an interesting question which was asked a couple of weeks back, let's see if peoples answers have changed.

Falcao or Lewandowski?

Shappy {Ed004's Note - LEWANDOWKSI! But seriously I'd rather we sort out the midfield first tbh}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lewandowski I have to admit. I hope we sign one skillful midfielder and left winger both with pace to go with him.

Reus is brilliant and he had Varrane and Pepe on their ass all night. I am also very impressed Dortmund's fitness level as a team. They ran for 90 minutes and never seemed to stop.

Shahram {Ed004's Note - Quick question would people be happy with a summer of Baines, Strootman, Rodriguez and Lewandowksi?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewandowski, eds where do u fink he will end up? After wot ballague said I'm not sure, I hope he's wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope your right ed, il fit air conditioning in your house for free if u are lol (I'm an air con engineer)

Big Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

ED004

Very happy with Lew, Baines, Rodriguez and still on the fence about strootman. His pace is not great and one of the reasons team like dortmund are great to watch is the technical level of their players but also the pace of them as it makes it very hard to defend against them.

Shahram {Ed004's Note - The what midfielder would you sign? Martinez and Schweinsteiger don't have tonnes of pace about them}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I think that would be a pretty perfect scenario if we signed them four in the summer don't you think? we would be more balanced around the team. really hope lewy joins {Ed004's Note - Only concern is would RVP slow down the game when playing deeper? He seems to have a better footballing brain than Rooney imo}

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately I think Lew might end up at Bayern with a deal already in place.

If it is not finalized, By the sounds of it Bayern have been real s***s about the Goetze transfer so that might help our cause given the fact that they would obviously like to sell to anyone but Bayern.

However this might turn into a major bidding war with Juve, PSG, Man City, Chelsea, United, Real Madrid as everyone but us is looking for a striker

I hope he has his heart set on us as someone will always outbid us when it comes to money.

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004 Strootman is nothing like Schweinsteiger or Alonzo who are not speed demons but great passers.

Strootman is a decent passer but nothing to go wow about.

Yer I know what you mean. to be honest, how would we find a right formation to accommodate all these players, especially the forwards. tricky one for SAF, that's if he does manage to get lewy of course. really liked the look of Gundogan tonight, classy in possession and worked hard for his team. him of strootman, i'm not too bothered

Fitting them all in to one team is easy, as I explained the other day. For me our best attacking line up of the last 10 years was Tevez up top with Rooney on the inside left and Ronaldo on the inside right of a 433 formation. If we signed Strootman and Lewandowski I would play Lewandowski up top with RvP inside right and Welbeck inside left, then you have Kagawa in the hole using his movement vision and passing to find space fill in the gaps and create, then you have Strootman and Carrick as a double pivot behind him providing cover for the defence and plenty of ball retention in the middle. That would be an awesome attacking team that woukd strike fear into any team. And all done with just two signings, and ones we've been strongly linked to.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shappy,

I completely agreed with your whole post until you included welbeck. IMO he just isn't good enough on the ball, passing the ball, striking the ball. Nice squat player, but not first XI. Either play Rooney out there or bring in an inverted winger (typical names that have been touted on the site).

ts87

Agree0 Disagree0

I give in. Lewandowski.
SakHere

Agree0 Disagree0

Shappy

I am also with ts87 on the welbeck thoughts. I think a rodrigues or Bale would be ideal as that team will create havoc for anyone.

We need a proper left sided player and welbeck just does not do it for me offensively and useful squad member when you want defensive cover in certain games.

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

Rvp is not going to play on the right, when Rooney played there he always put a shift in and got back do you see rvp doing that,
4_3_3 changes to 4-5-1 when the other team have the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2013 08:10:05
ts87, Welbeck's best position is as an inverted winger, and he is a far better player than most give him credit for. He played that position against Real Madrid and was picked AHEAD of Rooney for that game for good reason. We could sign another player to play that position but the team under Sir Alex is based on evolution not revolution. As such he rarely brings more than two new players into the first team at the same time. Welbeck has worked hard and desevres a season as first choice to prove himself, bare in mind we have also signed Zaha who in the long term will likely make this position his own. So I don't see us signing another big name player to come in and be first choice, last year it was RvP and Kagawa to come in and be first choice players, with Powell and Buttner as young players with potential who could go on to become first choice but will be squad players in the short term.

This year I see Lewandowski and Strootman being the first choice players brought in, with Zaha and maybe one other young/squad player being signed.

Its just the way Sir Alex tends to do things.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fergy tried for hazard and Lucas last summer, I think I will look for that sort of player again this season

25 Apr 2013 11:25:49
The way we implemented 433 last time turned into 451 when defending. But that's not a given for how it works, it depends on the personel you have at your disposal. Rooney would track back but Ronaldo didn't so it wasn't strictly a 451.

With the players available I would say that if we playes 433 with Carrick, Strootman, Kagawa, RvP, Lewandowski and Welbeck. Then when we defend I would expect us to resemble more of a 4411 with Welbeck dropping back infront of the LB and Kagawa covering infront of the RB and RvP dropping off of Lewandowski. That way we would still have two banks of four to defend which tends to be the way we defend traditionally.

When atracking it would be closer to 4213 with high pressing. Its a very fluid and attacking formation. People seem to have a problem with Welbeck in that line up, but a more defensively aware attacker would be required to give the line up balance. If we had a player like Rodriguez playing on the left instead of Welbeck then we could be exposed defensively. Welbecks work rate both on and off the ball along with his attacking instincts will give Kagawa RvP and Lewandowski the platform to perform at their attacking best by limiting the defensive work they would need to do. If we had a less defensively aware player like Rodriguez in place of Welbeck then Kagawa RvP and Lewandowski would have to do more work defensively which might take something away from them in an attacking sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2013 21:36:39
Fantastic performance from Lewandowski tonight, wonder how much that will put on his transfer fee! Exciting prospect of him partnering RVP with Kagawa just behind. Strootman plus another midfielder and perhaps a LB and we'd be awesome.
Time for SAF to forget about " lack of value in the Market" and splash the cash. We need to be really proactive in the Market and not leave any purchases until the last minute, if nothing else it means newly acquired players have time to train and bed in with the team before the new season starts.

Just a comment on some posters talking about our finances for the summer.

I don't want everyone knowing how much we have to spend!

All they'll do is hold out for more money on transfers if they think we're flush.

Any foreign managers reading this, we're skint, ok!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate they will do that anyway!
All clubs do when we ask about a player transfer is leak it to the press get city and or chelsea involved and other and push the price past what we were willing to pay! it happened with moura and will happen again we simply put a price on a player and if its not accepted we move on

Unrelated, and out of the blue, but wondering what peoples opinions are of having some form of standing in british stadiums.

I know a lot of people are against it, and I can see why, but it seems ridiculous that it can be deemed safe for fans to stand at top level rugby union games but not football.

There have been several developments in safe standing in recent years, and studies showed no proof of a correlation between standing and hooliganism. I just think it could improve the atmosphere in stadiums and increase capacity as well.

I think i'm right in saying all Uefa competitions must be played in all seater stadiums? But the germans seem to cope with their removable seating.

We have missed out on one of the best young talents in world football but there is other options and also there is always a youngster that is going to come through from nowhere. Hopefully we will have more of a chance with the like of Rodriguez now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We should go after Draxler he is different to Goetze but also a brilliant young player, who might turn out to be just as good.

On average we spend 30-45 million. Including sales generating 5-10 million. This season we have extra tv money. Should generate around 15-25million on sales of nani qnd anderson have a new chief executive last summer we had £30 mill to spend on hazard. Really speaking we should be in for a busy summer but I don't want to get my hopes up "no value". Disappointed we didn't go for goetze. It seems strootman is highly likely but I'd prefer gundogan (not just saying that because of the match I've been saying it a few months. ) I'd like to see lampard for free we would get 2 years out of him and 10+goals. I'd like to see nani and young go and 2 more wingers brought in but can't see it. Who would yous prefer we brought in on wings? Obviously ronaldo and bale but realistically. Whats the point mate? Have those games been good to watch? Has the football been entertaining against the teams which actually matter?

You may argue that we won the league, but have we well and truly entertained the viewers?

MUMBAI mate I'm pretty sure Syd was talking purely in terms of revenue. When we play in a televised game we get extra money. Syd was saying there should be plenty of money in the bank, so to speak. It's got nothing to do with who you'd rather watch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Go ahead then, you won't be missed.
Real supporters watch the good and the bad, top of the league or bottom. If you aren't happy then go watch city or whoever. Our football hasn't been scintillating at times but we are champions and deservedly so. I think the football will be better next year but if not i'll still be there watching every game.

Brendan81

Agree0 Disagree0

Brendan81 mate I watch other teams games for entertainment as well as Uniteds games but my heart always supports United and so I want my team to play entertaining football.

Is that too much to ask?

Agree0 Disagree0

You would rather watch city than united?
Did u support chelsea 5 years ago?

Agree0 Disagree0

If you'd rather watch other teams your not a true fan. United could be playing like sh*t at the bottom of the table and I'd still watch them over anyone. We'd all like Barcelona football but its not always possible. I support united and SAF and if that includes great football then it's a huge plus,

Brendan81

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris no mate, have been supporting United for the past 10 years.

I was equally disgusted when City won it last year and I was equally happy when we sealed it on Sunday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol I missed the City reference, really poor call there MUMBAI, lol. You've had a bit of a mare with this one TBH - better luck next time :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever Badge/Brendan/Chris, I feel that supporting a club just doesn't mean watching the games but its equally important that we enjoy what we watch.

I am sorry to say that Dortmund/Real/Barca/City (last year) have been consistently very very good to watch. But I cannot say the same about United.

But this doesn't affect my feelings towards United, if you ask me who should win the League + FA Cup + COC + UCL next season my answer would still be United.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would u be happy if we won all that and won every game 1-0? I support united through and through and i'd rather watch united playing turged football than city or any1 else play.
when I speak to pl that on the last day of last season watched city play and not united at sunderland I can't get my head around it tbh

Balague has put on his twitter that Lewandowski will join Bayern.

It doesn't make sense to me, where does he fit in?

Guardiola plays a false 9.

Gotze is going to be in the messi role, so where does Lewandowski play?

It baffles me to say the least.

What you reckon boys?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's a bit presumptuous to say he plays a false 9. He has only managed 1 club and that club had Lionel Messi. Any man would make him the focal point of the attack. Besides, Lewandowski's link up play is top class.

TK-Red

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that just because Pep played a false 9 with Barca doesn't mean he'll do the same with Bayern.

BennyBlanco

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2013 18:31:55
He doesn't know anything for sure. I expect that Bayern would be interested in Lewandowski. As to how interested they are and how keen Dortmund are to sell their second best player to them as well as their first in one window remains to be seen.

I think you've been reading the same articals as me as to what Bayern will play like under Pep. I think Gotze in the false no. 9 role will be their plan, with Shaqiri Muller and Kroos playing around him with Martinez and Schweinstieger anchoring the midfield.

But by the same token under Pep Barca signed Ibrahimovic and Villa, so he likes to sign his big name stikers and try and change them. So there could be something in it.

Ultimately if Lewandowski wants to join us then he will, Dortmund would surely prefer to sell to us rather than Bayern. Who by all accounts have monumentally pissed them off with the timing of their annoucment of the signing of Gotze. But if Lewandowski doesn't wanna play for us then he'll go else where and that would probably be for the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Assuming he is a good manager - he will adapt his tactics to suit the strengths of the club. At Barca, it made sense for him to play the way he did. At BM, at least in my opinion, it doesn't!

I'm not overly bothered where Lewandowski ends up. Were Rooney to leave he would not be a terrible replacement - but there are better players out there. I'm worried about how strong BM will be next season regardless of who they bring in but at the same time would rather see Lewandowski moving somewhere other than the premier league.

Maybe he's realised his one big weakness at barca was the lack of a plan b.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will adapt his vision to the squad he inherits/builds. Goetze may be able to play that role in the future but for me he'd be better behind a top striker for the time being. If Pep is as good as we think then he will know how to mix up his formations. And anyway the German League will call for a slightly different brand to what will be successful in Spain.

some people on here have gone way over the top about Kagawa this season.
I have been dissapointed with him and said it numerous times on this website.
It seems even Kagawa has admitted himself that he hasn't done enough in his first season at United. Yes he has had injuries but I still think that the jury is still out on him, the man has lots of talent but I just don't know where he fits in unless Fergie is planning on changing his formation next season to accomadate him?
I hope it's first season jitters and he is getting used to playing at a different club in a different league?

Kagawa's words:-

"I was looking to produce even more results. I was injured and I felt things didn't go well easily.

"I had a lot of conflict, frustration and worries. In that sense, I think it has been a profound year.

"Honestly, I haven't contributed as much as I did at Dortmund.

"I was even injured. I still don't quite have that feeling of accomplishment. "

What do people think?

Simmo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Simmo if you need to ask where a talent like Kagawa fits in then you know nothing about football

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is a class act both in terms of quality and personality. He will be much better next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kloot, he has been tried on the left, on the right, behind the forwards. You must know more than Fergie does. please tell me your team and where he fits in Kloot, I am interested in your formation, maybe you can send your little drawing/formation to Fergie to give him some ideas.

24 Apr 2013 17:22:28
Simmo he has had to adapt to a new language, culture, style of play, more physical league, been played out of position and had an injury. Based on all that i'm happy with him. Japanese tend to be more modest so I expected him to come out with something like that. He'll do well next season. MrE

Agree0 Disagree0

He is the one of few in our team that has composure, skill, vision, great passing and can score.

He did well at Dortmund because they play nice attacking football and it suited his style, we don't we play long balls and wing play.

JK92

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Apr 2013 17:28:37
He is a great talent, he started out well enough for a player finding his feet in a new team and in a new country. But the injury set him back quite abit. I also don't think he's been utilised in the best manner, a rejigging of the line up and formation is needed to get the best out of him. Foutunately Rene seems to be having more of a say on tactics recently, and I feel the dutch style would suit Kagawa better than our more ridged 442 type or variations on 442 that we play. Kagawa has the talent to have a similar or possibly bigger impact in the premier league than Silva and Mata.

This season hasn't gone as well as we would have all hoped for Kagawa, but judging by his comments he has the right mentality to push on next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

JK92

Sorry how many goals has he scored, how man has he created.
I would much rather have Rooney behind RVP than Kagawa, he creates more, he scores more.
I don't understand this dropping Rooney back in Midfield lark so Kagawa can play up top behind RVP. Rooney is a forward not a midfielder and should be played behind RVP is the manager is planning on keeping him.
This is my point, if Rooney stays and plays up top with RVP where does Kagawa fit in?

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

You missed the point Simmo. I said our style doesn't suit him.

JK92

Agree0 Disagree0

He has scored a hatrick in the no10 position and looked dangerous playing there, give the lad a chance, it took balls for him to leave Dortmund to come to us, overall was I expecting more? To a degree yes but when u factor in the changes he's had to make in his life i'm sure next season will be his season. ( I've heared that pharse before somewhere forgot where thou)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Kagawa has gotten better during the fag end of this season. I would still say he gets bullied of the ball a lil too easily. First season, finding his feet, he has done ok for me. Good in patches, certainly nothing sensational ala Cazorla. But he will get better. But strange thing, Kagawa's best performances have come while playing with Wayne. Food for thought? KLOOT, where was Simmo wrong when he said Fergie has been confused at times where to use Kagawa? He will do better next season for sure. But has he done better than Rooney this season?, certainly not IMO.

Deeps.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa has had a reasonable first season there has been glimpses of the talent shown whilst playing for Dortmund however due to injuries and playing out of position he hasn't hit the same hights as the previous couple of seasons. His first touch, passing and vision in my opinion are better then Rooneys and think sir Alex sees that which is why he has started the last few games ahead of Rooney behind rvp. Next year I expect him to push on and become a very good player for us. With a change of system and the write additions in the summer he will go on to be one of the best players in the league.
Nathan

Agree0 Disagree0

I watched a lot of him while he was playing in Germany and it would be fair to say that he's not yet hit the kind of form he found in Germany - but give him time.

It's his first season in an unfamiliar league and he's had a few injuries. He doesn't speak the language and he's been played out of position a fair few times to boot.

Of the players we have at the moment; I expect Kagawa to have performed the best come the end of next season.

T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

If Kagawa feels he didn't accomplished as much as he would like to have. Then that is the type of player we need.
But questioning his talent is stupid. Yeah he missed that goal but his touch was brilliant. actually he skipped the defender with ease.
I really enjoyed that move even though it didn't ended in goal

Agree0 Disagree0

Fan_of_Carrick

Loved watching that move too, the way he slipped the defender was slick! Don't see technique like that from our player's too often so I'm excited to see more of him next season. I think he's started to settle already but will improve again next season. And as other's have said the fact he's said he wants to improve is a good sign.

Nothing to worry about with Kags IMO.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think we will take it easy against them after all it is Arsenal. Fergie wants to win the next 4 to get the highest ever points total so he will field a strong side and go for the win. Just want general opinions on Bruma? Anyone know much about it? It would seem that with Gotze gone to Bayern and other targets like Rodriguez being massively overpriced we could move for him as a cheap risky option. We would then have Young, Valencia, Bruma and Zaha. Compare that to what Bayern could have and I don't think it is as good.

We do have to wonder what shape we will line up with next season. Could it be a 4-3-3 (If Rooney stays) with Rooney, Lewandowski & RVP up top. Kagawa an advanced part of a midfield 3 that contains Carrick & Strootman? I think that could be the way that we go if we buy Lewandowski and not an established winger.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hate this idea of buying these guys who might turn out to be good. Want some established players, look at RVP's impact. Our last two investments on young players from portugal has cost us 42 million and they are on their way out with little contribution. I thought the academy was for that purpose.

Suarez banned for 10 games meaning that RVP will more likely pick up the golden boot this season.

RVP - 24
Suarez - 23
Bale - 18
Michu-17

Cant see bale scoring 7 in 4 games without RVP adding to his total

Cannot believe we have been linked with Lescott, he's another to add to the never going to happen list. Also, very disappointed to see that Gotze is moving to Bayern. They are going to have an incredible team next year, its going to be scary and stronger than everyone I think. Get the partying done and start spending some big money for next year! Hope we can get Lewandowski and he doesn't choose Bayern, we could do with either him or Falcao. Never heard of this lad Bruma, looks good on youtube but so can Bebe - an interesting risk? If we sign him though could it mean that Bruma and Zaha are the Nani replacements? Hmmm. Its already getting very interesting!

Outs:

Nani
Rooney (hate to say it, but think he's a goner)
Lindegaard (wants 1st team)

United have been televised a lot this season. Then consider we have played EPL teams in the League Cup & FA Cup, also playing two replays. Winning the EPL means United will get a large pool share of the UCL money next season and with the extra £34m coming in from TV money anyway, the Glazers will be very happy with the cash coming in. So will we get a sizable amount to spend again this summer? A lot will depend on whether or not we can shift players, but I think there could be a decent size kitty this summer for us to do some spending. here's for hoping anyway.

I am very interested to read all about this wonderfull Bayern Munich team who are dominating Europe. Then I look at the Champions Leagues they have won in the last 5 years and? Oh but they have reached finals. Well if you look at the finals of the last 5 years a team lot closer to home has played quite a big part in them and won one. Does that make us the best team in Europe. I have a sneaky feeling that Jose is rubbing his hands and thinking that the press are making Bayern favourites forgetting who Real have in their team and more importantly who manages them. As we found out on Monday its trophies that count not getting close

Folks, been thinking a lot about our midfield and potential targets to strengthen it. How about Cesc Fabregas? Unquestionably a world class player, yet he can't get a game for Barcelona in his proper position. I know people will say Xavi will be gone in 2-3 years, but will a quality player like Fabregas want to wait that long? I reckon about £30m would get him, give or take a few quid. For my money there aren't many better midfielders out there for that sort of money, especially given Cesc is already proven in the PL. Just a thought, I would love to see it.

IDM

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thiago is earmarked to be the successor to Xavi, not Cesc. I think Cesc plays too advanced for what we need. We need someone deeper who can put in a tackle or break up play. Cesc would play where Rooney and Kagawa play. Saying that SAF has an habit of playing attacking players deep so you could never rule it out completely.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Because it's less interesting without Rangers.

To be fair the SPL is a bore even with Rangers.

Season tickets should be relatively low.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney I don't believe you. Here is a team doing something positive for supporters and you are saying its only because the league is less interesting. Does it matter can you not applaud any team that puts money back in supporters pockets rather than picks them. I know your attitude is if you can't afford it tough luck but come on

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree OP, I am a Rangers season ticket holder, but Celtic doing this is excellent for the fans. However, I do question the sincerity of their motives. They say it is a reward for fans for their season. We all know it is to encourage more fans to go because their crowds, other than European nights, have been abysmal.

IDM

Agree0 Disagree0

With Rangers demoted the league is a complete and utter bore. The Glasgow rivalry was the only real excitement in the SPL for Celtic fans. I would be amazed if they continued to charge what they were charging for what is very poor entertainment value. Paying £400-£600 to watch Celtic in the SPL without Rangers in it is daylight robbery Kloot.

Celtic's cheapest season ticket is still more than Manchester City's cheapest season ticket after the £100 knocked off. Like I said, it's daylight robbery.

Just seen this on the tv sport transfer gossip page and I was shocked to see no Midfielder, I really hope it's a false story but I wouldn't say no to falcao or lewandowski! Baines is 27 though I would prefer others really!

Baines will be 29 this year so I'm sure we won't be prepared to pay the £15 that Everton are reported to want.

Baines is the same age as Roonie. I used to think he isn't needed, but his cross is something that we lack from our wingers! Shame, but truth. I think he will create real chances to our strikers. They score more with better deliveries. it's a no brainer!

Rooney is actually almost a year younger than Baines. Many believe Rooney's best days are behind him so to spend a lot of money on an older player doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. RVP being the exception, of course!

And suprisingly Sir Alex doesn't phone up the newspapers or gossip sites before he signs someone. It is normally just agents trying to up the price of their client. Remember who owns a percentage of Falcao. Fergie's mate and they both want Chelsea or Citeh to pay stupid money

I think the Lyon left back is a real good player to groom for Evra's position and will not cost us a fortune and very young.

As I have posted before if fletcher does not call it a day we won't be getting any midfield players in summer window, so prepare for another season off cleverly and the hollywood ball playing giggs

I say, could someone possibly very kindly render one some assistance? I was looking for the Manchester United fan page but I seem to keep ending up on the English section of the Bayern Munich fan page instead. Its terribly inconvenient and confusing. Thanks in advance. Bertie Wooster.

Could it be because we're all jealous of the players they have? and would like our own team to play like them? Wishful thinking!
