i notice no ex liverpool players on match of the day tonight. Suppose it saves them the embarrassment of having to say their mate has made a mess of it.

Tribal have said that Mino Raiola met the Reds officials on Thursday to talk about a contract renewal at Old Trafford for Pogba.

Does anyone know if this is true and if so are we any closer?

We need to make a statement on Monday. Fulham need to be blown away. They will be. City will then know that to win the Premiership takes more than spending a few hundred million; takes more than having a "glorious autumn." It takes staying power, self belief and the knowledge of how to handle the immense pressure. This knowledge comes from having been there, many times before. You cannot buy this.

S***** look very beatable right now, they will learn what we know, that every team will be up to play them and they must be at their best to win. Their road form is not very good and more importantly, Silva is a shell of himself, remember early, he was everybody player of year. Where was Aguerro today, not even on the bench? This is going to be a great run to the end of the season. Come on UNITED!

Now we need United to finish the weekend off on Monday. City players looked very tired at the end. Lets hope they are that sluggish at the Emirates. I would love to go into the City game four points ahead. We could relax and play for fun.

Are you lot stupid stop laughing at Liverpool or their supporters will realise that agent Dogleash is working for us and doing a brilliant job. Do you know what the really brilliant thing is. They are all to scared to be the first one to say he is s**t and has wasted a 100 million. Just watch Match of the Day tonight as Hanson shuffles around and doesn't criticise his beloved Kenny. Well thank you to Kenny and all his boys as you are all doing a brilliant job. I just didn't realise when Alex knocked you all off your perch how far down you had fallen. I AM KLOOT

I don't normally post about Liverpool, but here is something for you to all laugh about and highlights the gulf of class between that useless bunch and our title winning side:

They have dropped points to:

Man Utd
Sunderland
Stoke
Totenham
Norwich
Man City
Swansea
QPR
Fulham
Blackburn
Bolton
Arsenal
Wigan

That does include a 3-1 defeat to Bolton, 2-1 to Wigan, 3-2 to QPR...i could go on.

Thats 13 out of the 19 teams that they can play in the League.

We on the other hand have only dropped points to:

Stoke
Liverpool (an unlucky draw at Anfield)
Newcastle
Blackburn
Man City
Chelsea

Liverpool have lost 10 drawn 9, we have drawn 4 lost 3. We have scored 73 they have scored 35 and we've conceded 27 to their 29.

Liverpool fans don't like stats, i wonder why?

-----------------------------This season, Liverpool weren't good enough to beat Wigan at home. You haven't qualified for the Champions League and won't for AT LEAST 4 YEARS. You better thank your lucky stars you won the Carling Cup, for 8th place is breathing down your neck. 'King' Kenny has actually made you worse after spending £100m.

Regular reader and very rare poster... Here are my thoughts on what should happen this summer, being reasonable (at least in my eyes) and assuming not more than a 25M net spend.

Firstly, there is a lot of dross to be cleared imo, and a fair bit of youngsters to be integrated from loan / tied down on new deals. Between transfers and new deals for some of the kids, I think the following might happen

GK: Nothing major really, imo we are all set for a while with DDG and Lindegaard (always been a big fan of DDG btw, ever since i saw him for Atletico when they won the Europa)
Outs:
PIG - not much to add there really

Defence
Outs:
Evra - I'm sure SAF can see he needs to go! i guess we can get 5M for him
Ferdinand - assuming that Chinese club make a decently big offer for him (~4M maybe?)

Ins:
Clyne - 2M?
Fryers on a new deal
Either an LB or Fabio / Fryers next season

Midfield
Outs:
Park - 3M
Fletcher - doubt he will get back
Anderson - have a sneaky feeling he might get the exit door, really rate him a lot, but he just doesnt stay fit! 8M

Ins:
Pogba - new deal, fingers crossed
Scholesy - looks like he will stick around for a year too
Kovacic - free / nominal
Martinez / M'Vila / Sissoko - 25M tops. Really hope this happens
Brady and Tunnicliffe too - either play as subs for the first team next season or loaned to PL clubs

Forwards
Outs:
Berbatov - class act, think SAF just couldnt use him well. 8M easily
Owen - released
Macheda - has done jack s*** at QPR. 4M or so

Ins:
Will Keane will be promoted hopefully, else maybe Owen will get another year.
Alan Pulido (feel this will happen, all the signs similar to Chicharito are there) - 4M

If you look at it, all of this will pretty much balance the books and still save wages. I think there will be one additional 'marquee' signing, which could be a CAM / Left Footed Winger / Striker if we get the right targets in.

Personally, I'd be happy even if only the above were to happen. I think by 2013 we would have finally replaced Scholes, Giggs, Carrick, Fletcher, Hargo and Anderson in the midfield with Cleverley, Pogba, Tunnicliffe, Martinez / M'Vila / Sissoko, Petrucci all hitting their prime years... and with Januzaj, Daehli, Cole and the other kids in the academy to follow... I also personally would like for us to get in Hoilett and get rid of Young, and use the money to fund a bid for either Hazard / Bale. But I'd be amazingly pissed if we hear the 'no value' crap again in the summer. I dont think this squad needs as drastic an overhaul as most people think, but damned if it doesnt need some fresh players. We dont keep pace this summer, and Sh***y will get ahead of us next year for sure!

Lets be honest here, we have to try to think like the genius that is SAF. He is well aware that this current squad has potential, BUT, it is not ideal and he knows that this summer may be his final chance to finish rebuilding his final team. I think SAF is a stubborn man, he knows what he wants and he looks to the past to see how things are done, if you compare this squad to others we have had then their is disparity and certainly areas to work on. So lets look at the areas:

In Goal: Really nothing to say here, for the remainder of SAF's tenure De Gea and Lindegaard will be the main two - but you could see Johnstone replace Amos who will never be number 1 choice.

Defence: We are really well stocked in the middle, as far as i am concerned, a center back would be a waste of money this summer. We have two experienced center backs in Ferdinand and Vidic, and then promising players in Smalling, Jones and Evans who are all doing well. If anything, Jones and Smalling need more games at center back so they learn their trade instead of moving positions.

At full back we are not so good - Rafael and Fabio will come good i am sure of that. They could use more games thats for sure. But i think the main area of concern is Evra as he has been on the downward slope for the past two years. The first signing at center back will be the very cost effective Nathaniel Clyne. Secondly, I hope that Cissokho is signed, he is and always has been my number one target. At £8 - £12 million he is an ideal player for us. We could probably get the money for him by selling Evra so he wouldn't cost much.

Midfield: On the wings we are doing well, Young, Nani, Welbeck, Valencia are excellent. I think that we can afford to let Park go, Brady can always be given a chance if we are short in those areas. I just don't think Park offers us much anymore. In the middle we need work. SAF highly rates Carrick so he will be a main stay there for some time to come. I think that the signing of Modric will finally happen for £35 million. We could probably get one more if Fletcher was to struggle and Scholes hangs up his boots again. But i think both will come back. I also think that SAF will take a punt on Kovacic and loan him out for a season. This will leave us with these options for next season: Anderson, Cleverly, Carrick, Modric, Pogba, Fletcher, Scholes, Giggs. We also have Tunnicliffe and Kovacic to come in the following year.

Forwards: Rooney is going to stay in the hole and play off of someone. Welbeck and Hernandez will be the only other two first team strikers left at the club next year i think. Macheda, Berbatov and Owen will all go as i think they are two slow. Keane will go out for a loan i think, that way he will come back as a first team player the following year. I think the forward to come in will be Wolfswinkel. There just seems to be some truth about it. He's clinical and would offer us something a little different.

Other players i would like to see here are Jese from Real Madrid, Erick Torres, Javi Martinez, Muniain. I just don't see these guys as being accessible enough and i've tried to stay realistic with this post.

So in conclusion, we have to come IN:

- Clyne £2.5 million
- Cissokho £10 million
- Modric £35 million
- van Wolfswinkel £12 million

Going OUT:

- Evra £8 million
- Park £5 million
- Norwood £1 million
- Bebe £2 million
- Berbatov £8 million
- Owen FREE
- Macheda £2.5 million
- King £1 million

That would raise us about £20 million with £60 million spent leaving a £40 million outlay. That would be well inside of our budget.

Team for next year:

_____________De Gea
Rafael___Smalling___Vidic___Cissokho
Valencia_Modric__Cleverly/Carrick_Nani
_____________Rooney
____________Hernandez

I think that would be the first team, but we would have so many options to rotate.

What is it with people repeatedly saying Vidic is in his twilight, he won't be the same player, he won't be first choice. Vidic is 30,entering his prime he is fit and lean and his talents never included pace, something that players lose with age. Players like Bruce, May, Blanc, Pally, Rio etc all played on well into their 30's. None of which were as fit as Vidic. He has also quit international football so can concentrate on us. If Vida comes back from his injury he could play on til 35 no probz. Even if Jones replaces him at 33, he wouldn't make a bad backup would he? The reason Giggs and Scholes will play on til 39 and 38 is because they are both lean, and fit. Vidic is built in a similar way so could easily play on til 35. -MB-

Anyone know what's happening with the flotation on the stock market. Is this going to ruin our summer plans, as I think this could be a excuse used if we don't get what we all know we need. We could be looking at bargain deals like clyne and kovacic free transfers. Maybe a winger cos that is what we are being linked with and a young striker. Someone like hernandez. Anyone with any updates feel free to let ys know. Thanks

As we reach the climax of the season I am surprised to find us top of the league, whether we win it or not, who knows. Since Moscow we have lost the likes of Tevez, Ronny, Hargreaves, Brown, VDS from the starting X1 and with respect to their replacements, not made any marquee signings (Berba?). Valencia for Ronny, Berba for Tevez, No replacement for Hargreaves, not sure anyone in 2008 would have thought that was good business, but that was Fergie's choice.
Most supporters would agree that since 2008 we have not looked so good, at times it has been hard to watch at OT as we scraped a 1-0 win against a 'lower team. Funny, watching the away games, last season apart, it has been more enjoyable maybe because the onus is on the home team to attack us rather than us having to break down teams at OT.
The squad looked weaker again this season, Vida, Rio, Evra, Carrick, Giggsy all approaching their twilight years, Scholsey and VDS had retired. A blend of youth was added in Jones, Smalling, Clevs, Welbeck and De Gea, plus Young was signed. With youth you have to accept that they will make mistakes as they gain experience and we have seen that on a few occassions.
Being nice you could say we have been humbled by Palace, Basle, Benfica and Bilbao, maybe humiliated in some cases. Yet here we are in the final straight involved in a 2 horse race for the EPL, unbelieveable.
In nearly 50 years of following United this has to be one of the greatest achievements I have witnessed and it is all down to Fergie. This season, with the transition, the injuries we have endured I don't think any other manager would have got us into the top 4, let alone be challenging for the title.
Whatever happens (well not quite whatever, in case we lose the next 9 games lol) Fergie has proved what a fantastic manager he is and I believe if we do become the EPL Champions this will be his greatest achievement.
Many top class players have come and gone over my time following United, without doubt our greatest signing in that time is Fergie, take a bow Sir....

Do you know what, I can't remember the name of an ex-player.

You know, the one who gave Giggsy the ball, and as a consequence, Arsenal didn't win anything.

He also lost his bottle in the tunnel at Highbury when Roy Maurice Keane objected to his demeanour.

At least he didn't go into a "I would love it if we beat them, love it!" or a "fact" rant, but you know it's not far away!

I wonder what he does now? Probably playing the patsy for a dim witted employer.
