Well, it was sort of good while it lasted. I thought when I found this site a couple of months back, I'd found somewhere that true reds can share news, views and rumours. Unfortunately I'm beginning to see a large number of whining, whinging malcontents who are always criticising what goes on behind the scenes. ARE YOU BLIND YOU IDIOTS we follow the biggest and best team in the world, that should be cause for joy and celebration. If you want to moan, go follow Arsenal SAF is the best manager ever, whoever has owned UTD over the last 20 years has had their faults, but we have always been the biggest club in the world during that period, can you not understand that? Regardless of how many or how few BIG signings come and go, STOP having a go at the most successful club in any sport in the world on and off the field. No team (in England) outside of London has ever got the cream of world football, and look what good that has done them You need to get a huge reality check. Until them, I'm off, cause I can't stand how ridiculous some of you sound, you give us all a bad name. Thanks, goodnight, and to all the true reds who read this page, it's been a pleasure reading your contributions, I'm off

" god decides and you just follow "
Apparently he already has done and said there will be no more signings in this transfer window, so Wesley stays put.
If he hadn't been such a greedy boy he might have just let him come and join the rest of the red disciples.

I'm sick off people saying how can u critasize the management, we've won 19 titles blah blah blah... I pay my money towards are debt and yet I see no improvements I remember when untied had 5 or six world class players now I can only think of 2 Rooney and vidic, the rest are average (apart from Hernandez who is going to be class) spending 50 milliOn on 3 average players is poor We arnt gna win the champiOns leauge for a while, and as for the prem it's only a matter of
Time before city win it maybe are las will be this year We can't constantly go year in year out buying average players, in the past 6 years we've bought 1 world class player and he turned out to be a flop- berbatov, yeah we got rio and Rooney but they wernt class at the time Times have changed the time for buying average YOUNg Players hopeing to be class are gone if u wanna be the best you buy the best SIMPLE.. so yeah the management and directors are in a dream land, we make more than enough money to spend each year

Well here I am back from Sunny Spain just waiting for Sydney to tell me about the world class midfielder we have bought. What you tell me we haven't and now we are hearing that no more deals to be done. But oh yes the money is there if Fergie wants it. Well all of you who said they would come on here and admit what the Glazers were about if we didn't buy what we obviously need. I am waiting. Sydney, I really need to clarify the Sneijder situation.

I will tell you what I know and as much as I can at this time.

Sneijder agreed personal terms with Utd thru his reps wks ago. While we were in America on tour.

At that time when Utd spoke to Inter at their request they acknowledged that WS wanted Utd and said they would deal with Utd aslong as we waited for them to secure a replacemnet to please their fans. we were waiting for then to signal the deal could be announced.

Please note at this time WS accepted the package offered which I would add is less than what Rooney is on. The stories running in the press are because they did not have the facts and assumed that the delay was due to his wage demands. That is not true.

When the England match was canc plans went arie. Around that time Inter wanted Tevez and tried to deal with City. They wanted WS as part of the deal. He didn't want City despite them offering him a package that would have made him the highest paid player in the PL. He would not go to City so please stop saying the guy is in it for money. He is not. He nailed his colours to the mast weeks ago and only wants UTD.

When City realised they couldn't get WS they were reluctant to do the Tevez deal with Inter. At this time Inter then determined to make the most they could welched on previous verbal agreements with Utd and started touting WS to Malage & the newly rich Russians to join Eto. WS was having none of it and was so annoyed wud not train with Inter at the end of the wk and would not play on Sunday.

Far from being the money-grabbing so and so that he is being portrayed as he is doing everything he can to get his move to utd.

Granted some of this is not common knowledge but I assure you these are the facts.

I wish I could tell you more or how I come to know this but I simply cant.

At the moment talks are proceeding as Inter realised on Sunday that WS will only go to UTd and so set off talking to Utd again on Sunday evening. That is why WS has now returned to training.

Both teams want this deal done by Saturday at the latest and are working towards this at the present time.

I ask you, Does this sound like the action of a money grabbing footballer as portrayed in the press. No its the actions of a world class CM with a winning mentality who wants to come to Utd and WIN.

At present he has 4 years left on his contract with Inter and is being encouraged by his father who is in the footballing industry himself to do the honourable thing by Inter to ensure they get the best deal also.

Sorry to waffle but I had to set this record straight.

Everyone seems devided on if we should sign someone let alone who the player should be

Myself I would like to see someone else come in
but only if SAF believes this is the right course of
action.

If he feels he has the right balance as it
stands so be it, and wouldn't be much more of an
achievement if we win the PL (anything else a
bonus) with players that have been developed by
the club and not purchased at inflated prices

Cannot complain at that draw. Otelul and Basle should be automatic wins and Benfica at home should be a stroll for us. If we qualify pretty quickly then hopefully a couple more of the youngsters eg Pogba and Morrison will be played in the last game or 2.

I don't know why we fans are so much into getting Sneijder. I agree he is one heck of a player, but a guy who claims he would love to be a Red Devil cannot accept a wage cut? I mean even if he proves in EPL that he is the same midfield genius he was in Italy, whats the guarantee he would't leave if given a better offer by Chelsea or s**tty. I always preferred Nasri over him and still I would say Mario or Kagawa would be better. Still young, ready to learn from a legend like Giggs, low wages and better motivation. Sneijder no doubt would control the whole midfield, but it would cost a fortune to get him. Arnd 35M and above that sky high wages almost equal to Rooney(who deserves it), Sneijder in my opinion at the moment doesnt deserve a wage equal to Rooney. Once he proves himself, why not? Plus such high wage I believe would also cause friction among the team members and most important of all prevent the talent of players like Anderson, Cleverly and Welbeck to flourish.

How does it feel to see how much better Man City's squad is to your own. Fergie is old, and soon enough you will lose the grip on power you have had for so long. Respect to you as a club for that, respect to your manager, but the time has come for you to step aside. Fergie is a special type of manager, who will replace him? You will not show the loyalty you have done to him with a new manager. I cant see you winning another title for a while now, and Fergie will be retiring soon....its all downhill from here on :) and how sweet it will be to see you crumble. poor united fans.

manutd for ever just which players do you think we should have had in the team to beat barca? I can think of four but sadly they all play for barca. As someone else explained earlier winning the league has always been the priority. Or at least for us older fans who grew up with being miles behind liverpool. Now we have levelled and overtaken but we need to extend our record over them so for a lot of us the league remains a priority. Europe is a bonus. Yes we want to equal liverpool but its not going to happen yet. We need to equal barca by evolving our own players like they have not go on mad spending sprees. Rincewind

I've been rediculed yesterday because I said that the CL is more important than the PL. I was even accused of being a glory hunter when I said that our European trophy cabinet is not as big as Real madrid or milan or even liverfool. Does saying that make me a glory hunter. Isn't this a fact. Its annoying me how some of you guys are ignorant. Weren't we all gutted to see our team lose twice to barca . When we could have won it if we had better players. I don't care who owns the club or who is the manager ad long as my club is winning in all fronts. Weren't we all gutted to see us lose to Shi**y in the semi final of the Fa Cup because of mediocre players like berbaflop and carrick. And do you think anderson is up to the task? All of us last year when a rumoured surfaced about him being sold all of you here agreed and supported the idea.
We are not the most successful club in Europ nor in the world. Yes we are in England but football is not in only in England and we have alot of rivalry in Europ.
Dont we all want to see United the most successful club in the world. I do.

Good Morning,
I think united fans need to do the following:
i Trust SAF. I am sure he knows more about the game than me, anyway.
ii. He is probably trying to bring a DM in, but it is not easy, in terms of prices and and age, and wage structure also.

iii. We need to enjoy the fact the team is so good.

iv. Those of us old enough can remember the terrible 1970's and 1980's, barring a few cup runs.

v. The new Singapore deal seems to be very promising for the club in the longer term, cutting debts and interest paymnents

I don't understand people linking us with Sniejder, Hamsik, Kagawa, Goetze and any other CAM, is it just me who thinks thats not the position we need to fill, as we have an abundance of players who can play that role. We are crying out for a DM, the amount of times players such as David Silva, Pedro and Messi get the ball in front of our defence but in behind our midfield is frightening, I have to say that this year I'm really excited about the coming season, the football we have played already has been brilliant, but i would feel a little more secure with a De Rossi, Schweinsteiger player to come in.

So it's all gone quiet again on the old rumour mill. My thoughts are:

Developing Cleverley will work to a certain extent. I still feel that against the bigger teams in the Prem and at the business end of the Champ League we will regret not investing in our midfeld if thats how it transpires.

A midfield purchase therefore is still a must. To rely on Cleverley all season may be detrimental to his development, surely bringing in a Sneijder type character would only aid this development in training etc...

Hi folks, first off i'm not a Utd fan but a Rangers. Having watched the Community Shield and the Spurs game the last night, this team has the potential to be as good as if not better than class of 99, Young is buy of the season and Jones and Smalling will be 1st choice CB for Utd and England in next few years no question.

Everyone seems under the impression that only Sneijder is suitable to replace Scholes.
Here's a list of players that would jump at the chance to play for Utd and would complete what is already an exceptional squad.

SCHWEINSTEIGER
DE ROSSI
GANSO
HAMSIK
EVER BANEGA
JAO MOUTINHO
MODRIC
DIEGO
GOURCUFF
ARTETA
VALBUENA

Just a list of who I think would be ideal but you guy's watch Utd week in week out and will know better than me but would love to know what you's think.

I for one hope we dont get sneijder, think he is overated, injury prone and would be a very expensive mistake. We should be looking at bring in eden hazard or goetze for amc, both really young and both can play the wings if required. For the same price as sneijder would cost over 4 or 5 years we could probably add a yound dm aswell, maybe yann mvilla or moussa sissoko.

right i've been abit quiet lately so heres a few things i've been contemplating in my silence.
Firstly i've seen a couple of comments about lets see how the young lads do when they have to come from behind and rally to win, well isn't that what they did in the communitity shield? against a very good man city side who we were 2-0 down to at half time. I'm sure we will lose games in fact we need to so that the younger players can learn from it, the trick is to lose a couple of games and still win the league which i'm sure we can do.

Now moving onto the juicy stuff, Transfers? Not i like most of you thought we could do with a new player in the centre of midfield but i wasn't sure what kind of player we needed. Personally i feel the days of a traditional DM are over, the Makelele type player who just shields the back four with tackles and interceptions then moves the ball on to his more talented midfield partners to spread the play. Now you need to be able to pass forward and be astute to the finer points of midfield play. Look at Basquets and Mascherano at Barcalona, who plays more often? In the odd game like Stoke and Blackburn away you may need a more Physical pressence in midfield but in most places you need player with tactical nous who can pass and move intercept and tackle. In the games where we need some physicalitly then i feel it best to move jones forward.

So does this mean i feel we need an AM? well no actually, it's not our tactics or style. We play with more Box to Box type centre mids with good wingers and a striker dropping deep to link play it's worked for 20 odd years under Sir alex and i can't see him changing it now. Look at the players we currently have Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Cleverley, Giggs and Park who can all play centrally then with the likes of Pogba Morrison Petrucci and Tunnicliffe all coming up through then anyone else will just get in their way. How many Pique's and Rossi's do we have to lose before we realise this.

I also don't buy this arguement that we NEED someone like Sneijder to teach them how to do it. First off that's a coaches job and we now have Scholes teaching them(can you name someone better to teach them) then you have Giggs if you want some on field instruction. And secondly when i was leaning the sacred art of Barbering(don't snigger it's rude. lol) i spent 3 months watching a master at work but i learned more in my first week of actally doing it then i learned in the 3 months of watching, my point being is that Cleverley and Anderson have spent years watching an old master in Scholes but if we want them to actually improve them we are just gonna have to play them and the more often the better so do we need an "old master" in Sneijder getting in their way? i don't think so.

Moving on i don't feel we need anyone else upfront as even if Berbatov leaves(i don't think he will but i am open to the idea) then we'll still have Rooney and Hernandez as first choice with Welbeck and Owen as back up and Diouf and Macheda as back up for the back up. lol. No where i'm more concerned is defense actually, we have Fabio, Rafael, Vidic, Ferdinand, Smalling, Jones, Evra and Evans as our defense this year and on the face of it all looks good but thats just eight players of which both Da Silva brothers have been known to pick up a few injuries as well as ferdinand with both Vidic and Evra both tipping 30 they to will start to pick up more injuries leaving just Smalling Jones and Evans who seem to be mostly injury free. But i doubt we'll be happy with a 3 man defense if the worst happens, we could drop a midfielder back to cover but that means we'd have a player out of position and 3 young defenders, we could cope with that against alot of opponants but Chelsea? Man City? Real Madrid? or Barca? I feel maybe on more body in defense may make me sleep abit easier but if not then i'm more than happy with our squad and our improvements we've made this summer, this year could be looked back on in 10 years time as the year where Sir alex assembled his last great all conquering team.
As always i'll be more than happy to hear what anyone has to say on my thoughts, Ed's regulars and newbies(just leave a name as it makes it easier for me to answer you).

Hello boys and girls

I'm giving you a heads up, because if we sign this kid Coates. Then i will be back to ridicule you on your purchase of Phil Jones. I rate Jones very highly but if we can get Coates, it will be a real coup. This kid is a class act and won young player of the Copa America. An award usually reserved for the likes of Sanchez, Neymar, Aguero etc. Just shows you how good this kid is. Phil Jones and Smalling play for the England U-21's, this kid plays for the South American Champions.

If he does come, then we can stop all this nonsense about us not attracting good players. If he comes he will have told City to piss off. Yes the same City that beat you to Nasri. But it sounds as if this kid actually wants to play for a massive club, instead of recieving a massive paycheck. And we could get him for 8-12 mill which will be a bargin, for whoever he goes to. Considering you paid 16.5 mill (rising to 22 mill) for Jones and 10 mill for Smalling.

If he does sign for us you have to admit. The kid has good taste and a touch of class.

The problem with most of you guys over here is that you think that the Man Utd fan base are mainly in Manchester. Well, that is totally wrong. Man Utd fans are world wide and the number of fans outside manchester is 1000 times bigger than that in Manchester. Shirt sales of Man Utd alone gets a fair chunck of our revenues specially overseas sales. Therefore if we get Sneijder lets say as Sydney suggests that he will cost us 75m in four years with the sales of shirts with his name for the price of $75 a piece I beleive we will sell more than 100m shirt a year. Do the math amd you will get 7.5b dollars now thats money talk. Right
Besides, if we get sneijder he will help the team enormously.
Sydney, do you thinl ando and cleverly are up to against xavi and iniesta in the CL. I don't think so man.
But with Wes we can. And we will get the flair that we lacked since the departure of CR7. The flair that made us fearless of any opponant.
It is so sad to see other teams with minimal history and success like chelski and Man Sh**y getting stronger and us still building a team.
Don't you all want to see us winning the CL 4,5 or , 6 times. Believe me our European record is far behind Liverfool and this year Barca surpassed us. Yes we are strong in PL but in Europe we are still in the middle tier not the top one if we look at our cabinet of European trophies.
I for one, even though not an english based resident, would love to see Man Utd achieve more in the European front rather than the domestic one. The CL is where the money is. And if we are with our current squad we will only succeed in the CL when this current young team gets mature. Don't get me wrong. I like cleverly but he is not gonna get us the Princess of hearts trophy that is the CL.
