Just thought I'd say if its true about Pogba not accepting 22k a week then he is a discrace and you are better off without him. A kid who has made a handful of appearences demanding big wages is insane, no matter how talented he is I would get rid. Also all those Mancs taking the mic out of the Carling Cup you would all love the thought of a day out at Wembley tommorow weather you want to admit it or not. Cleverley injured again must be a big worry for you all, he seems to have picked up so many injuries this season which is never a good sign for the future. Enjoy watching us pick up the first proper trophy of the season tommorow ; )
Also I urge you all please don't by the S*N lads.

As a Man Utd fan i will naturally have a negative view of city's thesis and morals. I can however admit they play great football, even though the atmosphere at Eastlands resembles that of a funeral.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen much of Porto's James Rodriguez? I have and he does seem to be an excellent talent, he is also left footed and can play central midfielder if need be. His best position is probably wide left, but he is generally very versatile and would be a better option than Gaitan as he would be probably 3 times cheaper at least.

We also have a good recent record of signing players from Portugal, Bebe, Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson.. we have a good scouting network there and obviously we would have picked up on his talents. I hope we don't miss out on this guy as he'd be a good summer addition.

Does anyone have any information on whether there is an agreement in place with Gaitan? Ed's is it all just talk?

I'd rather us sign this young lad James Rodriguez along with Javi Garcia who was immense against us i thought, he was much more impressive than Gaitan and i think he is a more realistic option for us than Martinez. These two would probably come in for around £30 million, compare that to similar targets such as Muniain and Martinez, you'd be looking at almost double the figure.

They also fit in with our policy of recent years, we'd have a core youth crop (25 and under) of:

GK: De Gea, Amos.

Full Backs: Rafael, Fabio, Jones, Smalling,Fryers.

CB's: Jones, Smalling, Evans, Veseli.

CM'S: Jones, Cleverly, Anderson, Rodriguez, Pogba, Tunnicliffe.

Wingers: Nani, Rodrihuez, Petrucci.

Forwards: Rodriguez, Hernandez, Welbeck, Keane, Macheda.

When you include the senior players in that core of youth players you have a fantastic squad, that squad initself is great without the likes of Rooney, Vidic, Carrick, Valencia, Berbatov, Evra etc.

So if the policy is cost effective younger players which is seems to be, then those two fit the bill.

Heard that Fergie and dalglish had a good heart to heart this week at a sports event. Apparently after their cordial meeting Fergie asked kenny did he really think the LFC team of the 80's could beat Uniteds current team.

After a pause Kenny replied, I think on balance it would probably be a draw.

Fergie walked away with a wry smile and a smug look. When he was about 20 yards away kenny shouted 'mind you, we havnt trained for a 30 years' !!!

The most worrying thing about the recent developments with pogba and morrison is we have spent the last 18 months/2yrs being told by alot of people on here and by the club that these along with cleverly were the future of our great club and that was the reason we wer,nt buying players if that is true where does it leave us now one has gone another looks like going and cleverly is (i hope i,m wrong on this one but time will tell) looking slightly injury pronehaving spent more time out than playing the question iswhere does this leave our long term strategy i hope to god we have got the money to restore our midfield to what it should be and that the line the club has used that we did not need to spend as we had players coming throgh was the truth and not spin or we could be in for a rough time for a few seasons

just read Arsene might be in for Adem Ljajic.

Might SAF be interested (again)? Would be kind of in line with the current transfer policy.

Still puzzled about what happened back in 2009, must have been something behind the scenes, or did we really need the money that was earmarked for his transfer so bad we couldn't afford to sign him and loan him out until he is eligible for a work permit?

I think we need a young full back, a young winger, young striker and a quality central midfielder. And i think i have the perfect selection of options here, i think we can do that in just three players:

- I would say that in terms of a full back, they need to play in both full back slots so we have cover, Nathaniel Clyne has to be the number one choice as he is young, has potential and is British.

- In terms of a young winger and striker, then i think that we can get a player that does both by signing Lucas Ocampos. He is powerful, tall and has so much skill/talent. Similar to Ronaldo, i think in a couple of seasons then we would have a really great young player in him who can give us so much in the future. Having Ronaldo as his idol will make it easier for us to sign him.

- The quality central player that i think we need is undoubtly Luka Modric. He can hold the ball, intercept passes, make killer balls, score a few goals. He would be like our David Silva who threads through the passes that finishes off teams. I don't see anyone else out there who can do it any better than him.

I think a £50 million budget + outgoings would just about be enough. I'd see Levy accepting a £35 million bid for Modric, footbally is a business to him after all. £15 million would be the upper limit for Ocampos and then the fee for Clyne would only be nominal so nothing much at all.

Do you think perhaps hoping for a summer of van Persie and Modric is more realistic than you may think?

My reasons for this are that both players want trophies, and lots of them and everyone knows that we are, and will continue to be the best in the country for doing this.

Both could force through moves and to be honest, i think Modric will be allowed to leave this summer anyway as he has given Spurs another good season that he said he would.

We could see a team like this:

De Gea

Rafael
Smalling
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Modric
Cleverly
Nani

Rooney
Van Persie

Pretty good to me.

I really hope that in terms of injury, this season is a one off for Cleverly, he has been injured more than not. This leads me to think that perhaps Modric wouldn't be such a bad choice, if Cleverly is injured we do lack a bit of guile unless Scholes plays. But he won't be around for ever, so Modric may well be the perfect choice for us.

He can also play in that attacking midfield role, like Rooney and David Silva do. So therefore in big games we can have him off of Rooney, two good wingers and Cleverly with someone like Carrick who is good at holding the ball. That would be a great team and a team that would keep posession a heck of a lot.

I read on this site a lot of United supporters giving Pogba a hard time. Lets look at the situation we have already sold the brightest light to come out of United's academy for a long time in Morrison and now we could loose another great prospect in Pogba. Now if some of you lot are going to criticise someone for knowing their value then criticise every United player that gets a pay increase and you only have to look at the accounts to know that there have been many. Juventus know exactly what his potential is as will many other of Europe's top clubs. Remember we stole Pique and Arsenal Fabrigas by poaching when they were young. Sydney and myself have been banging the drum for United youth for a long time and it has always been the club's tradition to bring through youth i hope this is not being curtailed for cheaper alternatives. A little bit of extra news, I bumped into the City team last night in the Hilton hotel and i must say that Bollotelli was an absolute star and couldn't do enough for people and Mancini was very gracious and seemed really sorted. Certain United players who swan around town thinking that they are gangsta rappers or too big to speak to supporters should take note. I AM KLOOT

Just wondering why David De Gea hasn't been called up to Spain's latest squad? Is it because he's rubbish?
