We will not sign nasri! Arsene wenger would not allow one of there best players come to us! Same as we would not sell one of our best players to any of the big 4 unless crazy Money was involved!

Ashley cole from arsenal to chelsea.
Silvestre from utd to arsenal
Owen liverpool to utd
Bet there's more I've missed too.

My point is if utd go in with the right money, arsenal can't resist with one year running on his contract they can't risk losing for thing next season.

I also think we will leave sanchez now due to the hassle he and his club brings. The more likely now I feel is hazard :)

People just guessing on here with whos coming to utd its a different player everyday were linked with everyone (apparently). All i can say is ROONEY was going to leave this year and said in a kind of way that basically he was annoyed with signins and lack of big names at Manchester United to help him. Dont get me wrong fergie got him to stay with a lucrative deal but he could of got that at city, barca madrid etc. I believe in them talks with fergie last year , SAF convinced rooney to stay with promise of a big contract, better salary and more importantly big named signings and i think he told rooney names hed like to attract to OT. Rooney stayed coz of this and excitement of being part of this. Jones Young DeGea arent them big name signings that would of made rooney stay.. ... ... .. so in my opinion watch out for two big big name signings. Dont know who, but rooney wants to rub shoulders with the best of the best and he could of got that, and no disrespect but jones, young as good as they are arent close to the players rooney wants to going into battle with every game. Expect two big names and expect deals to be done and dusted behind closed doors to stop a ongoing transfer saga!!! What do you reckon Eds an Co ???

ed; i think everyone is loosing the plot here with all the players that we are singing to replace scholes , the truth is we have never replaced Roy Keane, so maybe a player like javi martinez is all we need and let the kids come through, we have enough creativity in the team but no holding midfielder !

what do you know
chatter is fervent when large flocks of penguins gather
much is simply that
but much is not derived
as penguins are great migrators
and despite their constant chatter they happen to be great listeners and are great at deriving
closer to the continent and thus closer to their birthplace will some devils roost soon
big red devils so say the chatter
patrice, dimitar ivanov and Luis almeida da cunha may seek warmer pastures...

I heard from a reliable source that we are probably going to sign Barcelonas Thiago, and are also looking at Benfica's Left back/winger Coentrao.

Also it appears we have missed out on Varane as he will join Barcelona.

Sorry I ment Real Madrid for Varane not Barca!

(just a person with a opinion!)"""
dear mr steve
ngiak would like to ask you for your opinion
many on this site, including your current post
seem to think real are going to sell higuain
he is the best out and out striker both real and argentina have
and who knows without his bad injury last season he may have scored as many goals as Ronaldo or messi
why do you, and many others here
think they would sell such a great player?
and from many quotes, at a relatively cheap price
did ngiak miss something that you or those people know?
please enlighten ngiak

i think people need to stop worrying about our lack of a big money midfield signing! as the eds keep pointing out on a number of occasions, the international window does not open untill the 1st of july, and from what i can see with our pre-season tour of america not due to start untill the 13th we will have at least 1 week from the 1st of july to get in our players before flying out to pre-season starts, while it would be nice to buy the likes of modric, sanchez, Sneijder, we are not the only team who are after them, and the chances of us getting any of them 3 are quite slim, modric = london, sanchez although loves united i dont think would turn down barca if they stumped up the cash, and sneijder wants wages only man city would offer!!

rooney could very well be the midfield man we need, he played that role very well towards the end of the season, and his passes were pin point! (altho could miss a few games due to suspension unless he learns how to tackle)

leaving ourselves not needing a midfield man at all and just buying a quality striker to partner hernandez which could be a number of people right now, just to name a few ...
cavani(can see him definatly leaving this year), aguero(another one who wont be staying around), eto'o(has expressed his desire to play in the premier league and would be a cheap option),
benzema + higuain (both are rumoured to be making way this year)
david villa (could leave to give barca more spending money)

although im sure if clubs go for our "long term looked at rumoured" players, im sure we would make a move, like what happened with jones!

im sure Sir Alex has something in mind!

"united are going to sign Hazard and that is the transfer window over for us.hazard to then play CM and young/nani RM and valencia LM + Rooney and Chicarito up front.thoughts ed? {Ed002's Note - Signing Hazard has to be a maybe.}"

Why would we have him play CAM? He has never played there in his career, not as good a passer of the ball as Nnai, Young or even Sanchez. Were we to sign him, he would play LM with Young through the middle and Nani on the way out.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

25 Jun 2011 19:12:44
Anybody suggesting Wayne Rooney will play CAM next season is an idiot. We have one of the best strikers in the world in Rooney (probably in the top 5). Yes, he could play CAM if needed, but why would we want to bring him away from goal (ie, where he is most effective)?

We need to bring in a decent CAM who can feed the ball to our strikers so that Rooney does not feel the need to drop deep and win the ball himself. Maybe then we'll see matching the sort of return he got in the 09-10 season every year. He certainly has it in him - and with the right service we will see that.

The fee for Young was £17.5 million and Watford received £800,000 of that as it was an agreement between Aston Villa and themselves that should Aston Villa sell Ashley Young... Watford would get a percentage of the fee they get for him.

The Sun claims Nani is having talks to discuss his future at Manchester United. I hope he stays. I'd like to see SAF turn Nani into a striker like what Real Madrid done with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rooney to play the attacking midfielder with Nani & Hernandez up front. I know it seems weird now but I believe the pace that Nani & Hernandez have between them would be enough to be a danger to any team in Europe.

This would mean there would be no need to sign anyone else and we could save the money for the january window to fix anything that's not working.

GK: De Gea. RB: Rafael. LB: Evra CB: Vidic & Rio. CDM: Jones. CAM: Rooney LW: Young. RW: Valencia. ST: Nani & Hernandez.

The bench: GK: Lindegaard. CB: Smalling CM: Fletcher. CM: Carrick. RM: Park. CAM: Anderson. ST: Owen.

""do we not think that maybe rooney could be molded into our CAM?, he seems more and more to be dropping back slightly and playing passes that scholes would have been proud of and dominating the area just behind the strikers. in that case we need another goalscorer to accompany hernandez, cavani would be a good option i think""

@Rooney played there quite often towards the end of last season, I believe he will be the CAM with a new striker brought in. I think we will still sign a central midfielder, but not a £35m signing for that position. I think we will sign a striker and a central midfielder.

Never eva rated John O'Shea! Sorry pal but i think hes the luckiest footballer on the planet!!! Nothing will eva change my mind. Hes garbage where ever he plays. When he plays centre half he gets dominated, he may as well be 5'1'' not 6'1'' coz hes rubbish in the air. When at full back he's a liability goin forward an makes life doubley difficult for whoevers playin infont of him. He couldnt cross the road. An when Sir alex sticks him in midfield... well words fail me!! Phil Neville was a far better sqaud player (even though he couldnt play centre half). I know people go on abt needing a player thats jack of all trade an master of non but i believe and always will believe that when John O;Shea leaves Utd he will drop down the divisions like a stone!!

Venomous Pit Ape"""
dear mr venomous pit ape
both you and ngiak are gonna get a tremendous amount of stick for this
but you are absolutely correct
he is almost by far the worst man united player in the squad and the most luckiest
his tackling is terrible, distribution is terrible, passing is terrible, does not know how to jump at all and attacking wise... does he ever cross the halfway line?
people ere will say he has played many positions including goalkeeper, but he must be sir alex's super pet boy cos he can do no wrong apparently... even though he obviously does a million, especially his tackling... yikes!
we are going to hear responses of his anecdotal once in a blue moon goals or "good games" (which is probably 5 mins of playing way above his station)
ngiak has always said he will never leave man united for the exact reason you stated..
he will look like crap for any team in the premiership where he will be more exposed, and he may barely make it in the championship as well..
just a humble opinion from a humble penguin..
sunderland or villa they say?
what are the odds for relegation? :)

Can someone tell me if this Izaguirre from from Celtic is a left back/wing back or a left sided midfielder? Cant see why we'd be in for him if he is a left back not with avin Evra & Fabio already. Pat Evra didnt av his best season last term but i still wouldnt swap him for another left back on the planet. An Fabio really impressed me at the back end of last season. If he does go for him im hoping it spells the end for O'Shea, Evans & Brown (non of em good enough) an hes just gettin him as cover. That Tom Thorpe really impressed me in the acadamy last year... hes definately another for the future.

Venomous Pit Ape {Ed002's Note - He is a left back.}

Man U should buy Marvin Martin over Sneijder and Modric, he is younger, only 23 and also much cheaper than either player, almost half the amount less.

As a life long united fan im more than happy with our summer spending so far... Jones, Young & De Gea (hopefully a done deal) Think Jones is class and wiil only improve playing at utd. Cant understand the doubters as far as ashely youngs concerned. Every time ive seen villa hes impressed me.. got a really cute football brain an if he'd of signed for the arse, the bin dippers, the berties or even chelsea then id of thought they'd done good business & improved there squads. If Fergie can ship out Brown, Gibson, O'Shea, Evans, Kuszczak, Diouf and Obertan. Id be absolutely made up. Then with, King, ajose & De laet all goin out on loan im hoping that alex will promote Tunnicliffe, Pogba & Morrison into the 1st team squad coz i believe that all 3 are special talents and they wouldnt benifit from goin out on loan (especially Ravel). Id fast track all 3 of em. Then the only other thing is this last "big" signing. Sneijder? Sanchez? Modric? Nasri? Theres no doubt that we're crying out for a little bit of magic in the middle of park, but im of the opinion that Sneiders over priced at £35m - £40m. An all this nonsense that we'll offer nani AND money for the dutchman is ludicras!!! Straight swap yeah... but i personally thought nani was great last season (up until the carragher challenge) an want him to stay coz hes a great weapon for us. I personally want us to get Nasri but cant see it. Cant see Modric leaving london either so just hoping sir alex can pull summat out of his hat an suprise us all with a bit of quality. "has it been confirmed the price we payed for Youngs and Jones? also did pool pay 20m or 16m for Henderson? thanks"

@United paid a grand total of £16.5m, Venky's themselves confirmed this. Blackburn tried getting the add-ons added on, but failed as United activated his clause, they had no chance of getting more cash out of us when Jones said he was only interested in joining us. It seems Steve Kean wasn't brought up to speed. Venky's were fuming about losing him for just £16.5m, they have even threatened to sack certain personnel. Since this Venky's have been looking for evidence of tapping up via big Sam. But they are clutching at straws.

Henderson cost an initial £16m, but it's thought add-ons are involved, some say the fee could rise to £18m, some say £20m. But no one will know for sure, not until the financial results are released.

Sydney! {Ed007's Note - It does seem the interest is there Sydney, I would be more than happy if the fee was around the £8m mark. Scottish clubs are not in any position to refuse that kind of money for any player, he is a great player Syd, but I'd be sad to see him leave this summer. I would take O'Shea as part of the deal. Good morning Guys
All the talk on here and in the media is after us getting Ashley Young whether Nani or Toni or both are going to leave.
Could it be that and its only a hunch ! that the legend that is SAF has got other plans for Young other than an out and out winger. All of Young, Park and Nani can play both left and right and all 3 could be used to play off of a striker. This giving us good options as an attacking force.
While I'm on the point of options don't be surprised to see Phil Jones given a chance as a defensive mid-fielder as well as a centre half again more options. He maybe the long term replacement for Owen Hargreaves.
I suppose what I'm saying is in Fergie we trust

Bazza

Hi Bazza. Just wanted to post you my thoughts on Velencia. A lot of people have mentioned that we will be short of right backs next season but I believe Sir Alex will use Velencia as our cover for that position and have Nani where he was most affective last season, on the right, and have Young playing down the left... Most of Nani's Assist and Goals last year came from down the right flank. As for Velencia Sir Alex used him as right back a few times last season...! (Your thoughts Ed....?) {Ed007's Note - I still don't think Nani will be part of the equation next season}

With the signings we've made already I think we've got a great squad, I just think if we could add Sneijder and Shaqiri or Hazard then we'd also have a class starting 11, strong midfield with great pace on the wings, and 3 goalscoring striker. I think we'd be hard to beat next year.

1.De Gea

4.E.Izaguire
18.A Young

I'm sick of reading how Jones and Young aren't going to beat barcelona and that we need to spend millions on Players. Players who play for Barcelona want to play for Barcelona NOT United, Real or anyone else... Like Ronaldo he was always going to end up at Madrid and Fergie knew that.. These players that we are signing want to play for United and for one i'm happy to read. City and Madrid spent millions over the last two season and they won an FA cup and a Copa del rey. I would take the league any day of the week... 19 and counting...

Very sensible posting there is far more harmony at OT than will ever be at Real or City because they sign egos as well as over priced players while we as say sign players who want to join the club and be part of our history
ARB""
dear mr unnamed and mr arb
very good post by the two o you guys
ngiak agrees totally with what you guys said
these two team have great players but they will ever go far without the unity and harmony at man united and barca
is it not a coincidence that these two teams were in the euro final?
the best team spirit and the best team ethic... and the never say die attitude NOT to give up till the end
another coincidence,
despite being very influencial in the domestic season, the two "star" players with the least work rate, and the highest sulk rate in the team were not played in the final for us.
dont need to many guesses to figure out who they are, ya?

Team for next year. We have de Gea for GK. We have Rafael/Fabio for RB. We have Ferdinand/Smalling and Vida for CB. We have Evra/Evans for LB. We have Valencia/Nani for RM. We have Fletcher/Carrick/Jones and Carrick/Cleverley for CM. We have Young/Park for LM. Finally we have Rooney and Hernandez/Berba? for forward. We need a keeper and we have a deal secured for de Gea. We don't need a defensive midfielder as we have Jones, Fletcher and Carrick. We need a creative midfielder tho. Gilly

@ What about Giggs and Anderson ?

Do we really believe that we can afford the wage demands of sneijder? Even if we could then other players would demand salaries as much as him. Even kaka is been given astronomical salary so why would he come. Only possibilities are hazard or shaquiri . What u say Ed?

Just wondering does anyone think that instead of trying to sign sneijder or modric ( both overpriced) could Rooney be played as a creative midfield player ( possibe head of diamond shape midfield) he has a great engine, superb passing and wud still score plenty of goals from that position. Could then maybe look to bring in a new striker (probably benzema)

A subtle suggestion perhaps Ed?

ed i know there's SOOOOOOO many rumors on this site involving who SAF is going to sign next but can you tell us anything about who he's going to sign next besides De Gea? {Ed007's Note - It's not really my place to hazard such guesses}

Last time I checked Lille had said that Hazard will not be sold this summer... so i don't see that happening (although would welcome it).

Is there anything in place or was I wrong to decipher your overuse of the word 'Hazard' in recent posts as a not so subtle hint?
T0MB0Z {Ed007's Note -From what I have been told, Utd could be arranging a move for the player}

been a brummy red since 1975 so seen the bad times as well as all the glorious good times so i would like to think ive got a bit of experience as for good or bad signings go for utd . living down here in brum and watching copious amounts of football i dont quite understand the negativity towards ashley young. this is a winger that has pace got an eye for goal plays left wing /right wing and just off the front man and is pretty useful on a dead ball. but most importantly he does not shirk hes defensive duties and has lightning pace. in my 35 years supporting united ive only had the same buzz about our wingers when we had sharpe giggs and kanchelskis . now weve got young nani and valencia who are true wingers and mark my words our away day blues will well and truly sorted with that pace in our team. i for one welcome young who i know will produce on the big stage ggmu

ed007, do you think united may of tied up deals for other players other than de gea? With the sanchez saga making headlines is it a possibilty united may of done deals on the quiet whilst everyone else concentrated on him? would you hazard a guess on who they may of targeted? tom 17 {Ed007's Note - I've hazard enough guesses I think :-)

Fergie likes to keep his cards close to his chest so I would expect only a select few know his targets. My contribution to the conjecture is i believe a left sided creative midfielder will be sign one of:
Hazard
Mata-who may help de Gea settle
Snjieder

Any other signings depend on departures.

Not a rumour, just a thought. Diego of Wolfsburg, he is obviously out if favour and very creative in the midfield. Wouldbe fairly cheap too
