We will spend this summer but it won't be big. One major signing only, don't know whom. Fergie will never pay over the odds for anyone. Plus where is this money you alot are all talking about coming from??

Hypothetical question.
If Real put Ronaldo up for sale with a price tag of 80m, and if SAF was given a transfer budget of 80m, would you;
A: Buy Ronaldo, with his 250,000 weekly wage or,
B: Buy 3 world-class players with a combined 250,000 weekly wage.

You all know what I would do!

this team would be amazing:

lucas moura replacing anderson
martinez replacing carrick
hazard replacing scholes

----------------------de gea----------------------
---valencia----vidic--------evans------evra----
----------------pogba-----martinez-------------
--------nani------lucas moura----hazard------
----------------------rooney---------------------

the front 4 can interchange positions.

Wow Sporting have gone ahead again, another great game, really end to end. Love watching Bilbao.
Llorente is a joy to watch, has the touch of Berba but is more forceful. Wolfswinkel proved what a good finisher he is and like the look of Insua.
OMG Bilbao have scored again!!

Red Daz. {Ed004's Note - Llorente is some player... If only he was a bit quicker as SAF has stated he wants to make the team quicker.}

Regarding the Pep debate going on at the moment, I think a lot of it depends on Chelsea, if they don't win the UCL then I think he'll take over from Di Matteo. Whereas if Chelsea do win the UCL I think it'll be a toss up between Inter Milan and possibly City.

Now, if you're a manager who has just put together what most consider the best side ever (I don't they they are) then would rather be in charge as Chelsea, City - where he'll get a ton of resources, Inter, or as United's number 2? I know which one I wouldn't choose.

So by the looks of things its looks like Pep Gourdiola could well quit barcelona.....Hey ed, syd!, percy etc do you guys think there is a possibility that he might work under SAF for a few years and then finally take over? Would absolutely love it if this happened!

Anyways good a good feeling about the derby! GGMU!

Not a rumour but I'd just like to know everyone's opinion.. What will the score be on Monday night? I think City will be wary that if we score, they'll have to get 2 as they can't afford anything but a win so this could allow us to pile on the pressure offensively. I'm saying 3-1 United. What do you think Ed?

Man United need a DM player that'll just win the ball back & give a simple pass to Carrick or Scholes (if he signs).

We were crying out for this type of player in Europe to sit in front of the CB's.

Also Evra hasn't seemed to be the same player since his incident at the World Cup. Even Sir Alex has said as much.

We've been linked with Miguel Valoso in the past, he plays DM for Genoa, also one of Nani's best friends.

There is also Bruno Soriano at Villarreal which are in debt I believe.....?..?....? (what Club isn't) :-(

The reason one of these players could be a surprise purchase in the summer is they can slot in at left back when Evra needs a rest or keeps his bad form going.

He def needs some competition for LB with Fabio off on loan.

Plus they'd be under €20 each.

Have i missed something and have A Class drugs become free on the NHS. I am reading all kinds of mental rubbish about the top two managers in Europe coming to United to be Fergie's No 2. Then i read about all these stella signings we are going to make in the summer and then some person crack head says he wouldn't have Ronaldo back. I think they should make young kids read this page it would keep them off the drugs. At least we have stopped the sickening Chelsea love in that was going on before. Next thing you know people will be wishing them good luck. Can you believe they have asked UEFA if Mr Chelsea can pick the trophy up if they win it. Now anyone who wants to see that Racist pig picking up the trophy should hang their head in shame. I was so envious of Bayern last night as i saw a team go against a Spanish team and attack them not just play with one up front and sit back. Those of you Sir Alex will ever retire need to get off the medication there are far too many skeletons that he needs to keep a lid on for him to go. I AM KLOOT

anyone else think the calls for the suspensions to be lifted in the CL final are unfair? we were without scholes for 99 and fletcher for 2009 but we had to just get on with it.

they know the rules! so don't make stupid challenges!

Ronaldo did not force his way out of the club. It was well documented that his dream was to play for Real Madrid. He did not use this club as a 'stepping stone'. He came here at 18, stayed for 6 years, giving us some of the best football we've seen in a long time.

You say he chokes in the big games. Well, didn't he score a brilliant header against Chelsea in Moscow? Didn't he score twice against Arsenal in the semi final in 2009? Didn't he just score the winner in El Clasico last Saturday? Hasn't he scored something like 54 goals this year, as well as 42 in 2008? I can't understand where you're coming from. It's not his job to track back, sure sometimes it helps, but the magic he produces makes up for whatever faults he has.

I think that everyone slags Gaitan off because of the way he played against us and against Zenit? I think. But, he's a lot better than he looks.

If you honestly haven't seen him play and you want an honest and fair assessment have a look on the player profiles page as for me, that sums up exactly what he's like as a player and what his current level of ability is.

Good afternoon to all,
After watching the last two nights of cl football, I have come to the opinion that we are not tactically savvy for european football, the way chelsea and bayern set their stalls out, particularly bayern last night was just class. Now i'm not going to say we dont need a cm or a covering cd and lb, or a quality striker to compliment the talent we already have, but I've been reading on here for a while that M Phealan maybe the problem and I was hesitant to agree, but as the season has dragged on, and over the last couple of weeks it has felt like dragging, I am becoming more swayed by the idea that our must for next season is the aquisition of a tactically astute no. 2.

This is going to sound a bit out there but, from what I can gather P Guirdiola is stalling over whether to sign an extension with Barca for next season. Now, don't get me wrong, I have stated here before my desire to see J Mourinho at the helm when SAF does eventually retire, but in the interm would anyone else agree that if Pep was to come on board with the existing back room team, would itnot be complete. Now in my opinion Pep doesn't have a defensive incling in his body but surely working alongside our current BR team he could also develop as a coach, its win win for all parties.

I do think Pep will head away to pastures new this summer, gain the experience of another league and return to barca in 4/5 years just like some of their players now. He is Mr Barca, but if he wanted to finely tune his coaching skills woud you not agree OT would be the perfect place

I can see mourinho leaving in the summer and Madrid having a big over haul of players like they did 2-3 years ago, this may free up players like higuain, ozil, di Maria I'd take any of those at united 2 of which are left footed something we lack, just a thought.

Well......i see Ronaldo lived up to his name of being a choke artist when it comes to the big games, after the el classical, i thought he might just begin to deliver in the big games. He scored 2 goals in 20minutes then went into hiding for the rest of the match, surprise surprise. Now Messi will walk away with the player of the year award AGAIN!
Anyways, atleast now we can do away with the crapy rumours about ronaldo coming back to manchester in the next transfer window. We all know he wont leave Real Madrid without that Champions League medal.
Atleast now mourinho wont be heading to city in june.

If we were to sign Hazard and Lucas Moura I'd be happier than a pig in sh!t. Id love a defensive midfielder like Javi Martinez as well, but Hazard and Moura both provide what the squad is missing in midfield. We have wingers and strikers, but Fletcher, Anderson, Carrick are all questions going forward. Pogba has potential, but everything's up in the air with him.

Jose Mourinho's comments after match-

"The ones that miss the shot are the ones that have the balls to shoot. Fearless, not selfish, they go and try. I'm proud of my men.

"They're super men but Superman is a film. Messi missed yesterday [against Chelsea], and today three men missed because this is football, and these things happen."

"People criticise and question why these errors happen, people that if they climb two floors on ladders are exhausted.

"These guys worked like animals for two hours, they gave it all, then they go there and miss the shot."

"[It is] very difficult to stay in more than one competition. The final of the Champions League will be played between the fifth team of the Premier League and the second of the Bundesliga, [who are] 10 points behind [the league leaders]."

I love this guy's interviews....always has something interesting up his sleeve. But Bayern deserved to go through.they played well and i hate that guy robben but he keeps doing these things every year.Hope Mourinho succeds Sir Alex Ferguson.
