I live and work in Manchester and have done all my life.

How come I don't get issued Utd transfer information?

Now at the end of the season nearly all of us were in agreement that we needed a new GK and 2 midfielders, one to attack and one to defend and shield the back four. Now it looks like De Gea will be tied up within the next 10 days or so. And we've already tied up deals for both Young and Jones, now Jones can play as a defensive midfielder and Young is an offensive midfielder so we've signed players to fill the roles that we all agreed was needed.
My point being is IF we didn't sign another player and just promoted our youth then i'd be pretty happy with what we have.
In my OPINION we could do with a player who plays in the middle who does abit of everything, someone who passes the ball around and dictates the pace of the game, someone who doesn't give the ball away but uses it to control the game in the way that Scholes used to. In my OPINION that would be either Martinez or Banega but we could also mould Cleverley into that role as his passing and vision are top notch.
If you look at the squad we have players for every midfield position we need DM- Fletcher, Jones, Tunnicliffe CM- Carrick, Cleverley, Pogba AM Giggs, Anderson, Morrison plus some of the best wingers in the world in Valencia Nani and Young. I still Expect us to sign one or possibly two midfielders but wouldn't be gutted if we didn't, and would still feel that we'd be strong enough to win the league next year and have a good go in the champions league.
I think people need to stop using youtube to scout players and watch them for every minute of every game they play over a whole season then people may start to see that the grass isn't always greener in the next garden, like someone once said "Sometimes you look in a field and you see a cow and you think it's a better cow than the one you've got in your own field, it's a fact right? sometimes it never works out that way". And if you want to question him then i would surgest that you take your "support" else where as you clearly know nothing about football and you have no respect.
Sir Alex has been here before and he knows what he's doing Trust in him and you'll see that next year we'll still be challenging for and winning some of the major honours.
Do you feel that Man City Chelsea and Real madrid will piss all over Barcalona next year with their expensivly asembled "teams"? i doubt they will too, Barca's strenght lies in their TEAM play which is something they've worked on as a team since they were kids growing up together in Barca's academy, so to beat them you need to be the better team not have the better players. In short it is not a puzzle you can solve by simply throwing money at it.
Trust in the greatest football manager of all time to know what he's doing and whats best for Manchester United. Thrust in Sir Alex.

Tomboz go back to your own site, idiotic to mention the genius that is scholes in the same breath as gerrard, one is a genius one is a headless chicken, why did benitez keep moving gerrard out of the centre mid, because he didn't trust him in there, he looks good on tv running around like Roy of the rovers but he left gaps in the middle which good teams exposed time and again for Liverpool and England

"Hearing Morrison will get scholes 18 shirt"

@I for one would like to see Morrison in the first team next season, I think he is ready. Why spend £35m on Sneijder when we have a top quality player in the youth ranks. Give him a chance, we have Cleverley, Giggs, Anderson & Rooney who can cover the position.

But I guess we will get the doom & gloom brigade on here in about five minutes saying that we have forced Morrison through because we cannot afford a Scholes replacement. Truth is we can use Anderson, Giggs, Rooney, Morrison & Cleverley. Even Young can play a central role.

Lets be honest guys, we are talking about replacing Scholes yet we done fine without him in games last season. He only started in 23 games last season and we lost in many of the one's that he played in. Scholes has been a genius, but are we really going to miss a Scholes of 37 next season?

If you are an example of a Manchester United fan then I almost feel embarrassed to consider myself one.

Surely the best measure of an individual players success is through personal achievements awarded by IMPARTIAL organizations.

Scholes's individual achievements consist of 4 Premier League player of the month awards and 3 PFA team of the year awards.

In comparison Gerrard has been awarded the FWA Footballer of the Year award, the PFA Players' Player of the Year award, the PFA Young Player of the Year award, the PFA Fans' Player of the Year award (twice), the PFA Team of the Year (7 times), the FA Premier League Player of the Month award (5 times), the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award, the UEFA Team of the Year (3 times), the FIFA/FIFPro World XI (3 times) and the England Player of the Year award. He was also third in the Ballon d'Or in 2005.

Are you suggesting that he did not deserve all of the above?
T0MB0Z"""
dear mr tomboz
YOU are embarassed to call yourself a man united fan. thats quite a given.
that list sounds impressive
and it makes your perspective valid in a way
but just one question...
did you see scholes play?
did you see scholes at his peak?
did you see what he could do with the ball?
did you see his shooting ability/ heading ability?
did you see the way he puts the ball on his teammates feet anywhere on the pitch with consumate ease?
did you see the humility of the man and his withdrawn, family man nature?
did you see him influence all the fergie fledgling years of success... to real glory? FOR THE TEAM?
or is google your only contact with scholes?
well, ngiak has been a long term follower of man united, before scholes pulled on the red shirt
and he IS the best central midfielder that EVER graced OLD TRAFFORD
for you to put him below gerrard, regardless of the team he played for.... well...
other than it being your own opinion,
shows your ability to judge a player, right or wrong... club sentiment or not
really sad... for you... dear sir

if sanchez isn't going to Barcelona then he's not going anywhere.United said they weren't interested any more and the chances are that he is not going to city. ;)man {Ed002's Note - And Chelsea?}
-----------------------------------------------------
When/where did United say they weren't interested anymore (or that they were even interested in the first place for that matter)?

Why is it not likely that he will go to Manchester City? The latest news circulating the press is that they are favorites to sign him now. At no point has he said that he would not like a move to City (the rubbish about him refusing to board a plane to Manchester was instantly denied by Udinese).

Why would Sanchez not want to move to a bigger club if the possibility arose?

"Speculation:

Reports in Italy claim Manchester United are to make a big-money approach for Napoli's highly-rated forward Edinson Cavani. It is understood the Red Devils had the Uruguayan watched on several occasions last season."

Not sure I'd fancy us paying his E50m buy out clause. Will probably cost around ?Ç£35m. Probably worth it given that he is a better striker than Suarez who has been excellent for Liverpool since signing in January.

A Spanish news organisation (El Mundo Deportivo) are reporting that Barcelona have pulled out of the race to sign Alexis Sanchez. They are apparently fed up and will now turn their attention to Aguero who they believe will cost them less.

I'm not sure I believe that they will look to sign Aguero but would not be surprised if they have been priced out of any potential move for Sanchez. According to Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport Lionel Messi is Pushing for the signing of Aguero.

Quotes from Pozzo today; "If he was to leave, I would say that City have the highest probability of success, ".

Make of it what you will

If Barcelona are truly out of the running then surely we need to consider a second offer? Allowing a player of this quality to sign for one of our domestic rivals would be a huge mistake and one which I fear will cost us any chance of success domestically next year.

to all utd fans do you think this will be sir alex s last season .the man has been a great manager but i think he should after this season step down.i remember the great brian clough in his last days as forset manager when they got relagated.off course i am not saying this would ever happen to utd but i think the man has given his best and for his health and his family and utd maybe its time to pass the torch on to someone younger.with a big spending man city and my own team liverpool getting things in place and cheski-maybe having the sence to let a good young manager build something plus arsenal and wenger-doing what everyone knows is true ie-type of players and leting the purse strings go a little and also its just at this time barca will maybe be the best team ever seen in our lifetime it all adds up to the right time for sir alex at 70 years of age to go out at the top which he deserves to what do you think lfc

Personally, I dont think Sneijder is a good call at the mment, hes at his peak now and I think that his form will drop. We should go for a young player like Thiago Alcantra or Marvin Martin - they're both young and much cheaper than Sneijder around half the price. If Barca get Fabregas, it is more likely that thiago couuld come. Im hoping for a miracle but as we all know SAF knows what hes doing so I'll stick with him ont this one {Ed007's Note - *snigger* Marvin Martin......"Where's the kaboom? hi everyone just a quick post.
i believe we need a class striker hernandez was good but inconsistant in big games, i believe if real madrid go in for a striker like aguero or falcao etc then that could free up higuain or benzema as they wouldnt want to play second fiddle to anyone so it would be a good buy for us either of them or cavani but with part ownership etc would be hard to deal with.
cam is a position greatly debated and i think we need one personally and thiago is top of my list great prospect and would want first team football with javi martinez or hernanes in behind him holding the midfield

its just my opinion !

Thiago at barca
Tug of war taking place. Some at camp nou feel he is the one that should be promoted and don't buy fabregas. Pep wants fab and if he gets him then thiago could come to us giving barca cash for Sanchez. On Sanchez fergie and gill refuse to deal with pozzo and Sanchez instead of standing up for a move to utd has blown it by saying he will go even to city. Fergie now not interested
Thiago is our target the next xavi
Utd also monitoring higuain as Madrid looking at portos falcao
----------------------------------------------------
As you mentioned Thiago is a very similar player to Xavi with the potential to be even better. With Xavi moving towards the end of his career, Barcelona would be fools to let him go. For me Fabregas is a very similar player to Iniesta although not quite as good. Given that Iniesta has at least another 4 years of quality football left in him it makes much more sense to line up a replacement for Xavi now and assess the Iniesta situation in 2 or 3 years. I'm sure that Fabregas will end up going to Barcelona this year or next but would be very surprised to see Thiago leave permanently (at least without a 120% buyout clause).

I'd be upset if we were not still fighting for Sanchez as allowing him to go to City (or Chelsea as I read in todays papers) would be a huge mistake. He is a top quality player and one which would improve any starting 11 (even Barcelona).

If Falcao leaves Porto I can't see him going anywhere but Chelsea. I would much rather if we were looking at signing a Porto striker it be Hulk anyway.

It is very unlikely that Higuain will leave Real Madrid. He is their best striker (depending on whether you consider Ronaldo a striker or not) and would not leave unless 2 strikers who are better than him came in (and considering there are probably only 3 or 4 strikers better than him anywhere that seems doubtful) and Benzema had already been sold (which seems less doubtful).

De Gea is definitely coming in this week now that the under-21 tournament is over.

I would love to see Sneijder coming in aswell, but it seems to be up to his wife's desired destination as well as Inter's willingness to let him go. Not even mentioning our desire to actually chase the deal.

Sanchez might actually stun everybody by signing for Utd. Im thinking that after the Barca deal flopping out, and him refusing to board a plane to City, he might actually sign for us. He did always say how he loves Man Utd, but Udinese are greedy.

As for Nasri, i believe that we have to wait until he meets with Wenger. I highly doubt that we will sign him, wenger doesn't want to let any of his players go to his rivals

with Berbatov leaving.

De Gea
Fabio Rio Vidic Evra
Carrick
Valencia Pastore Nani
Chico/Cavani Rooney

maybe even Evra out, Izaguirre in?
(Gibson out, Tunners, Pogba and Morrison to step up)

with Young, Park, Cleverley, Jones, Tunnicliffe, Pogba, Morrison, Anderson etc. being used in rotation. Giggs and Scholes to have limited roles.

Keane, Welbeck, Owen to be rotated in.
Diouf & Kiko to go out on loan, to premiership sides.

Smalling, Rafael & Fabio to carry on playing a lot, maybe with Thorpe as well.

Good post Cons Red! You wouldn't think we have just won our 4th PL title in five years and reached our third CL final in four years. I for one don't mind being the second best team in Europe. What people have to remember is Barcelona never spent their way to being the best side in Europe, yes they have spent a fair bit of money, but their successes have been developed via their academy. I for one don't mind being second best to a team that is IMO the best footballing side ever to step onto a pitch.

I am not saying the old Real Madrid teams couldn't beat the current Barcelona team, or the old United, Liverpool or Juventus teams couldn't beat them in a 'One off' game, but what I am saying is if they played those teams five times each, they would win at least three of them. IMO this current Barcelona team are the best ever. Real Madrid, Chelsea & City have net spent nearly £1.7bn between them trying to build a team as good as Barcelona in the last seven years or so, perhaps more, they have used managers like Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Scolari, Mancini, Pelegrini etc and they have all failed to topple Barcelona to go onto winning a major trophy.

United have net spent just £181m since 1992, Chelsea and City have each spent three times that amount in seven & four years respectively. I am proud of the way our club is run, I don't care that we don't spend silly money on players, SAF has proven that you can live within your means to be successful. At least we can be proud of our success, we have used our own money to bring in players to win our trophies, teams like Chelsea & City cannot say that. Without their sugar daddies, they would still be sat there with a few trophies between them.

Sorry about the essay, but I am a proud Manchester United fan, and this is the way I feel.

Dear or dear what is with the world today. Perennial moaning and neg vibes seem to be on the rise. Read one that should not be worth the time but what the hell. This is to specific people. Not the fair doubters but the hardcore moaners. Diouf first. Someone with his size and touch doesn't come alone that often. Judge him on blackburn? I play guitar chess and don't play me at pool and know one thing for sure. Continuety brings out the talent . Create him chances let him play the style suited give him more touches of the ball. See what he can do. Yes he's of age. But why have him so long if alex didn't see something in him? that lad if he does make it and talent doesn't success make but believe me no defender is gonna have an easy day with him. Cleverly?? You guestion him? Any man united supporter who follows preseasons or the reserves and acadamy know what a special player he is. Ask wigan fans if they'd buy him. And then ask alex himself. Question there ability then we might as well get a new manager. Numpties. Go support a pub team for a year then come back and actually appreciate what it takes to get this far for those lads and wish them luck or jog on and use another club as a vehicle to moan. Who says Sanchez and Sneijder are our main targets? Last time I checked nobody from the club has indicated that we are even interest in either of them. I'm aware that David Gill supposedly flew out to Barcelona but not sure if it actually happened or if it did how interested in him we really were. I would love us to sign Sanchez but would be very surprised if he did not end up at Barcelona.

I do however agree with you that signing Thiago would be 'stupid' - but probably feel so for very different reasons.

Thiago will become a world class player if he is not already considered to be so. Unfortunately I am positive that were he to leave Barcelona that we would see a situation similar to the one we are seeing at the moment with Cesc Fabregas in about 5 years time. As such we would not be buying him from them - but loaning him until he reaches the top of his game and they decide they want him back.

Traditionally the best Spanish players have rarely ventured outside of Spain and those that have seem to find their way back there over time (Fran Merida, Gerard Pique and soon Cesc Fabregas to name but a few recent examples).

cam - sneijder, kaka, thiago, nasri, pastore, ganso, mata i think all of thee are all suitable players to behind rooney and hernandez unless we sign a striker then rooney lays cam with hernandez and the striker up top if we do go with the later option i believe the best options would be edinson cavani without a doubt the best option big built pace good in the air and good finisher with the crossers we have young valencia nani but i think nani will leave so the money could be used for cavani or cdm like javi martinez, modric, schweinsteiger, hernanes so what does everyone think

My point exactly !!! wolves beat us city chelsea. . . . Were getting caught as a club. We never use to get beat by these kind of teams where as likes of city etc would drop points to them. Now we are !! thats coz we have average players in a truley great great football club. We need to make our club great again and buy proven one or two to keep ahead of game whilst still bringing through the youth. If we aint carefull we ll end behind likes of chelsea n liverpool etc coz we have players in our squad that shouldnt be at our club.

Wouldnt matter if Glazers assured rooney there was money available to sign players that wouldnt of bin the point. What would of bin the point was who they aim to spend that money on. Coz if it was for example 80 mil on up n cuming players rooney wants to win things now not wait . Whereas 80 mil on proven great players and mix of youth up and cuming thats what rooney wants. Hernandez is a great signing. Not a big signin a good scouting signing a bargain. We ve had alot of players that weve gamble on like hernandez and theyve bin poor, , , djemba djemba, kleberson, cryuff, forlan, bebe theyve neva bin big signings, just like hernandez.
