Have to hand it to Hamilton, to get through that race with the wrong tyres for that amount of laps. The guy is a quality driver.

He did well but as a radio commentator said during the race he does like to big himself up and make a drama out of things.

So guys with the transfer window open and rumours flying about I’ve jumped on to football manager and sent my scouts all over the place. Here’s what I think

Centre back - Dayot Upamecano
Consistent player with pace and good technical ability. Young aswell.

Right back - Aaron Wan-Bissaka
No description needed!

Defensive Midfielder- Sandro Tonali
Looks like the complete centre midfielder. Has a release clause of 23.5 million. Potential next Pirlo (maybe it’s just the hair)

Houssem Aouar - this kid can create, score, dribble and defends even though he’s more attack minded. Made Pep take note when Man City played Lyon.

Central Midfielder - James Maddison
Great talent, work rate very high, scores, assists and doesn’t change his hair or practice stupid celebrations. (Like that rubbishhouse pogba)

Right Wing - Federico Cheisa
Work rate, fast, great deliveries and scores goals too. Very good player that has gone under the radar

Striker - Timo Werner
Unbelievable pace, acceleration, rides tackles, very good in front of goal, high work rate too. Bin off lukaku and his trampoline touch and get this guy in

And with that my scouting is complete. Man Utd win the league and everyone will forget this post

Your welcome

Ed’s thank you for your hard work it is always appreciated 😊.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - what about Konate as the centre back? He looks like he could be a better bet than Upamecano of the two.}

26 May 2019 20:29:52
This is my thoughts
Sell ddg Bailly pogba Matic Sanchez martial lukaku bringing in around 300m
Sign Donnarumma alves De Ligt Rabiot kroos bale icardi
50m. Free. 65m. Free. 45m. Loan. Swap with lukaku then get a few youngsters like Dias zaniola aouar Pepe.

I don’t play PlayStation too busy on the field playing mate unlike u! Also why wouldn’t u take bale on a 2 year loan similar to James Rodriquez for say 10m I’m sure with a change of environment where he is wanted he would get back to slightly his best and much better than Lingard martial Sanchez.

27 May 2019 04:58:14
Donnarumma alves De Ligt Rabiot kroos bale icardi

Not good enough, far too old, wants Barca, ego, too slow, too injury prone, massive attitude and problem wife.

So you want to bring in a load of overseas expensive signings only one of which has premier league experience, all will demand huge wages especially considering the lack of champions league football.

This kind of scattergun approach to signings is why we are in such a mess. These are not the kind of players to dog in and bring us back to the top. The only one of those I wold want at United is the one player that wants to go elsewhere in DeLigt.

Clueless.

27 May 2019 05:08:09

Sorry guys I posted this just because of all the over exaggeration when it comes to transfers lol

Truth be told the ed’s give us some insight into who we are looking at but after that it’s all about the newspapers or sly sports which we all both know blow a lot of smoke and only come out with the truth when the clubs release the statement. It’s an exciting time to be a united fan as we will get back to before let’s just embrace it.

A united legend game with no Roy Keane, a joke, fergie has too much power around old Trafford, great respect for fergie but it's time to move on from the boss,
We need a new boss, even ole still calls him boss.

Believable5 Unbelievable10

26 May 2019 17:07:45
Keane was a great player and as big a legend as anyone could name. Yet Keane himself has burnt his bridges with United and takes every chance he gets to have a dig at the club as he is a bitter man. It's a shame, for me he was one of the greatest United players I have ever seen. Yet that doesn't make him a great human being.

He could come back and enjoy these events and be part of what was a fantastic celebration today of one of our greatest ever sides.

But he himself needs to work towards rebuilding the bridges just as much as anyone else connected with the club needs to if that is to happen.

Sadly, I don't see that happening. It's easy to blame Sir Alex, but Keane has burnt bridges with many people at the club and it is not just down to Sir Alex.

26 May 2019 18:59:29
This thing about Keane could go on and on, first thing he was a born winner and he upset a few people along the way, now that doesn't bother me, I've seen ex players lately and coaches who were at United at the time who have come out and said he would get at anyone who wasn't training hard enough ar playing hard enough, they all have said he was doing it for the right reasons and when they went out playing with him they knew he had their back no matter what he said to them at training,
And it would have been nice to see him walk out for that legend game,
Blackpool red your right they both should be man enough at this stage.

Agree4 Disagree5

26 May 2019 19:28:07
Shappy what has he said about united or united players that isn't true,
And its hard for someone to say another person isn't a great human being, I know people that know him very well, they tell me you couldn't meet a nicer human being when he isn't working, and a very funny man believe it or not, met him a few times myself and he was very nice,
Another thing people don't talk about is he does a lot of work for charitys, a young girl in Cork needed an operation in America her parents couldn't afford it, he paid for the whole lot, you won't see that in the media, plus he wouldn't want it in the media.
A rare human being that fella with a big heart.

Agree3 Disagree4

26 May 2019 21:48:06
Leahy, what he has said has been an opinion for the most part. So it can't be seen as something that is true or not as it's subjective.

But he has been scathing on more than one occasion both pre-Sir Alex retiring and after.

He upset a number of coaches at the club before he left, it was them that complained to Sir Alex about him acting like a coach and not as a player. He up set Sir Bobby while at the club with what he said about academy players, he also upset a couple of people on the board.

Since he has left several ex-players and ex-coaches have attempted to extend the olive branch and all have been met with the same rejection.

He isn't involved in games like the one tonight because HE doesn't want to be involved. Whether Sir Alex or anyone else at the club offered or not.

Agree2 Disagree3

26 May 2019 21:28:49
Roy Keane tells it how it is on the current United team, the rest have mates at the club n watch what they say! He's a born winner! I doubt he'd agree to play in these games but it would be nice to see him in a united shirt again.

26 May 2019 22:48:30
Wow. You’ve really read far too much into a charity match.

Agree2 Disagree3

26 May 2019 23:08:46
Acting like a coach, fergie had him managing the dressing room,
Anyway we are probably better off with a player like pogba he is nice to everyone. Takes pictures makes videos and dyes his hair, no good on the pitch though where it matters most.

Agree3 Disagree1

27 May 2019 05:01:26
Keane played for united in the Liam Miller game just a few months ago. So there can't be that many issues with him representing united. Maybe he had other plans.

27 May 2019 11:34:10
Keane didn’t play in the game that it was the anniversary for anyway, perhaps he felt like it wasn’t his day to celebrate. I know Scholes played but his mates were all playing. Reading far too much into a friendly game Erich was fantastic and to have 16 of the 18 who played on that night in Barcelona was great I thought.

Jaap Stam at 46 years of age is still better than our current CB's!
Bodies just bouncing off him everywhere. Great positional play and strong in the tackle. Still the best CB I have ever seen at Utd.

Lads, am I the only one who's not getting the de ligt buzz? Even from a limited pick of good CBs, there are many better out there.

I was impressed with the whole ajax team this year but I didn't look at De Ligt and say, he is incredible, I thought he was okay.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

26 May 2019 17:03:36
Thing is angel answer this.

Would he make us better?

Is it value for money.

Is there players out there better?

If so who?

I would personally sign him and alderwiereld and have him lindoff and de ligt as our 3 main centre backs. Along with keeping bailly. But get rid of smalling and Jones and rojo

Get WB as right back and we would have a pretty decent young defence to work on and improve

But I'm just living in a dream land.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 May 2019 17:11:59
I think he's a good player but how far has he come since the Europa cup? I've not seen any Dutch or Ajax.

I got the vibe at the time he was nowhere near ready.

I did see him speaking to fans though and he looks like a real leader. And leadership is as rare as hens teeth in our team.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 May 2019 17:14:40
I thought him and de Jong looked very good, for both ajax and Holland. Not overly impressed with the rest to be honest but them 2 will go on to be good players imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2019 17:14:54
I think he will be an excellent player, but he isn't there yet. I remember when we played Ajax in the Europa League final. He looked shakey in that game and if anything Davison Sanchez looked the better player in that game. Yet Davison Sanchez has hardly set the world alight since his move to Spurs.

I know that was two years ago, but again in the Spurs game he didn't look imperious. physically strong, great technical qualities, yet often caught out of position and he doesn't have great recovery pace.

So great potential, but a lot of development still required. I think we need someone much closer to the finished article at the moment in central defence.

Agree5 Disagree1

26 May 2019 17:28:25
Shappy to fair the United game was something like is 10th first team game at 17 years old in a euro final.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 May 2019 18:00:25
Hes only 19 in fairness I suppose.

I'd just rather see us sign a more rounded CB who has a few years more experience at a high level.

I just haven't got that buzz about de ligt, good player but better attainable players out there right now.

Agree1 Disagree1

26 May 2019 14:14:48
If the De Ligt story is true and we're willing to pay a 19 year old centre back those exorbitant wages, I feel like we're not learning from our mistakes. We already have a bloated squad with many players on wages that don't match their on field quality. Paying a teenager a reported quarter of million a week is just going throw the whole team out of balance. And it's a dangerous precedent going forward to any new potential signings.

I was really hoping this season we would trim the wage budget down, stop being attracted to the shiny big name players, and start making smart signings that fit a system that Ole wants to play.

If the only way we can beat the likes of Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern, City to players is by offering them huge wages and bonuses, then we are looking at the wrong player. The squad needs a complete reboot. We need new players that are willing to buy into Manchester United because they feel privileged to play for us, not because we're doubling the wages.

The kid does look like a magnificent player, but with Mino as his agent, he's going to be angling for a move within 24 months.

I would say the same about felix as well, looks an outstanding player.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 May 2019 15:53:56
We paid lingard a 100k when he was truly rubbish, just a few weeks ago renewed jones's contract. i think the precedent has long been set. I will never get this privileged to play for us business. We aren't some temple or church folks its a business, players are employees. Our problem isn't overpaying, it is overpaying the wrong players. Also if there is a system that some how can't fit a physically dominant ball playing cb like de ligt, I would say there is something wrong with the system.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he wouldn't fit in either City's nor Liverpool's system, nor Spurs, does that mean there is something wrong with the way they all play? De Ligt is bizarrely overrated for someone who has proven the sum total of absolutely nothing.}

26 May 2019 16:42:25
why would he not fit their system?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - because he is slower than a week of Mondays.}

26 May 2019 16:59:28
come on ed. He isn't the most quickest but then niether was vidic, and my comment about the tactics wasn't about a CL finalist or current champions of epl but about a team that finished 6th and won nada this season. He is a good defender who is already better than anything we have and has potential to be world's best but most importantly he brings in a bit of leadership, something this team is very much lacking. Also is there really a better cb available that we could get.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I don't see the relevance to Vidic? You said there must be something wrong with the system if De Ligt wouldn't fit, I was just pointing out that you are wrong. There are multiple ways of playing but there are 3 successful clubs in the English league that he would not fit in their system, so it is clearly not a wrong system, just he is a limited player that needs to play a certain way or in a crap league like the Eredivisie or La Liga. Where most weeks the only thing he will have to do is pass the ball around, not defend. The moment he gets put under pressure defensively in a high-paced game he will be found wanting.

He is not a good defender, he is very good on the ball, but he is not particularly good defensively and there is no way he is potentially the world's best! There are so many better that play in Germany, for instance, where they are playing a much closer style of play than they do in Holland, so will find it easier to adapt and are easier to judge. It is also a much better level of football.

If it was me I would be buying one of the RB Leipzig duo that are 20 years of age and performed at a high level for years, rather than having a few good months like De Ligt.}

26 May 2019 17:18:12
Ed001 you mention the German league and I wonder what you think of Jonathan Tah? I think he'd suit the PL perfectly.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I think so too. A bit ropey positionally but he has recovery pace to make up for it.}

26 May 2019 17:21:08
I think we need to seriously have a rethink about what we pay players.

It's one thing to pay a proven world class player a huge 200k+ wage when they are in their prime years.

But a completely different one to pay a young player with potential a world class 200k+ a week wage. As if you start paying 19 or 20 year olds 200k a week then what will you end up paying them three years down the line when they are due a renewal? At that point they will be in their early twenties and still 3-4 years away from their peak years, which at that point you will need to renew their contract for a second time.

We are having that issue to some extent with DDG now. He wants 350k+ per week, but as a keeper he will be due another renewal in 3-4 years time. What will it be then 500k+ for a goalkeeper who will only start to decline.

It seems everyone is getting excited about DeLigt, so I may be the only one concerned should it all be about money. Money isn't a motivator.

We need a leader, a CB for sure, but we expect a 19 year old to carry the team at a time when we are struggling, don't have a leader from manager down and that is a big ask for anyone. To me it has the smack of Woodward and Co trying to show we and they still have it, the charisma to do things "others in the transfer market can only dream of". We are after a young talented Dutch player who had a good season, just like Rashford when he first burst on the scene and now expect him to be the cornerstone of the team. I would not dismiss the opportunity but have misgivings over it. After all these same decision makers gave new contracts to Young, Smalling and Jones plus the manager allegedly told Rojo he is in his plans.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

26 May 2019 11:50:15
The Dutch league is an easier league to play in.
He is young and part of an Ajax side that has over achieved this year in the CL.

Of course we need leaders in the team, along with experience.
De Ligt looks a good player.

Given our defensive frailties, most CBs will be linked with the club during the summer transfer window.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 May 2019 11:55:22
We shouldn't be signing De Ligt and i think we will get a smack in our face if it fails. Let him go to Barcelona and we should go for Milenkovic or Dias.

First choice would be Koulibaly but i think napoli are taking the mick with their asking price.

One thing i am happy about is Lukaku looking to leave and i hope that happens.

Get rid of Pogba as well and go all out for Ndombele or Niguez.
