Swap Rooney and Chicho then put in Clevs for Chicho. I would genuinely put Petrucci or Powell in instead of either Clevs or Ando but if we are talking best 6 just now with exp that's how i would do it.

Wasn't just me then. How easily people allow a goal to turn their glasses a darker shade of red.
TK-Red {Ed007's Note - Do you know that American farmers used to put red tinted glasses on their chickens? Chickens are naturally very cannibalistic and the flock would attack another chicken at the slightest sight of blood. The red glasses blocked out the red of blood so they couldn't see it and know which chicken to attack.}

Agree11

If Anderson starts he will be deployed as a deep lying player where he always fails and gets slated he needs the more attacking role with Fletcher beside him to stay back.

"DB mate, whilst I agree with you that it's not all doom and gloom we need to make sure we don't rest on our laurels. Yes we are top and in a strong position but we also need to improve our performances to stay there.

Couldn't agree more TK mate, I was just fed up of all the negativity yesterday... Was starting to think I was the only one feeling positive :D
We are in a great position so far, no massive injury problems (if Vidic can get himself back soon) but need to start improving performances.
Roll on the Citeh match, maybe then some of my optimism will start rubbing off on some of you all ;)

Not that you asked me, but I will tell you who I think we need.
Isco, beautiful attacking midfielder, who plays from left to right. With very strong lower body(not easily to knock him off the ball since premierleague is more physical), can hold the ball beautifully and create some of genius assist. In Spain he is considered as a replacement for Iniesta. I think he would be gained with less than 18m.
Wanayama, yes Vidal would be nice but I dont think he will come. or box to box midfield with backs of energy. If we are not gonna buy anyone, we might aswell start getting chance to Tunnicliffe or try Jones in that role.
Those to players are all we need in Jan and Summer.
Red Samurai. {Ed004's Note - Would like to see Isco sign but I would make Bender first choice followed by Rodriguez and Baines.}

Bender!

James Rodriguez would cost around 30M and porto won't accept any less. Where as Isco who will cost less than 18m would be perfect(even thought he is not a winger in conventional sense). He plays on left and right wing and then drift inside with his bags of skills. Yup I agree with a box to box midfielder being the first buy,but we have to buy Isco( seeing how rubbish wingers are).
We need a box to box midfielder with bags of energy and Isco. A fitting replacement for Scholes and Giggs.

Why is that fresh? I have never understood the massive following Pele has had with his massive goal scoring in the mighty Brazil and USA in comparison to Diego who was great all over the world winning titles for unfancied teams like Napoli and carrying his nation to success (take note Mr Messi) all the while he was off his t!ts!
IMO he is without a doubt the greatest ever. I couldn't even imagine Messi taking the tackles the likes of Best, Diego and Pele were subjected to never mind doing what they did on the shocking surfaces back then as well.
Jono
Agree2

Socrates was better than Pele.
Agree3

At that time Brazil was by far the best international side, and Santos were probably the worlds best team. You could quite easily back them against any other team in the world. The Brazilian League was very strong.
Fresh!
Agree3

Fresh
Yes brazil were the best easily in those years even highlights show the team as a whole was head and shoulders above the rest. The Brazilian league at the time held on to most of its talent but they were spread over 2-3 teams and those teams dominated every year. Pele was banging in goals v opposition who would be championship level nowadays where as Diego spent most of his time at barca and Napoli of which he latterly pushed Napoli into the Italian elite and that was when Italian league was full of talent.
I think many go with pele instead of Diego as he is far more straight laced in comparison and scored so many goals but IMO if gerd muller had played in the same team as pele he would have scored a very similar amount where as I cannot think of any other player who could have replaced Diego at his most influential.
Jono
Agree2
Disagree0
So based on that argument Messi and Ronaldo are average because apart from Madrid, Barca and perhaps Athletico everyone is rubbish. Thats essentially what you're saying. I don't think the standard of football has improved, several Brazilian teams from that era would wipe the floor with Madrid, United etc.
Fresh!
Agree0
Disagree2
A lot of very good judges say brazil 1970 were the best team ever and pele was the best player in that team and scored over a thousand goals also a great player does not have to beat 3 men to be great pele was brilliant in the air and had the talent to play a ball with perfect weight and where it should go when it should go there
Agree1

What league do you watch?
The Spanish league team for team is far better than the PL so by my argument Messi and Ronny are rated as top players. I certainly wouldn't rate most of the Spanish top league players as championship level!
The PL is far more exciting as the teams are closer in terms of ability whereas real and Barca are 2 steps above in their league.
I'm not taking anything away from peles achievements I just cannot see how people having seen both play would think that pele is so far ahead of Diego you would be 'deluded' to think otherwise.
I personally don't rate pele in the top 5 players ever.

Thoughts on the City vs Chelsea team. I lost a bundle on the game as I took City to win and the over :(
I thought the midfields basically cancelled each other out and if anything city could win it because of their forwards. Mancini is an odd coach as I would always take Tevez over Dzeko.
Both teams will be there all the way through out the season especially if the Rumours are true with Chelsea buying a couple of forwards. I know everyone likes to slags Benitez but he is by far a more experienced and better coach than RDM and will only help Chelsea.
Finally, people who say city is a ghost of a team from last year in my view are missing how championships are won. Playing away at Chelsea is a tough fixture by any measure and a a draw is good result. They are still unbeaten and have the best home record of any team in the league over the last 2 years. All in all worrying signs in my view.
Shahram

Agreed sharham. People keep saying that city are no good this year. But from what I've seen so far, we better buck up our ideas. By that I mean the players and the manager and all coaching staff. This city team would have put five past us if we play as we did in first 60 minutes on Saturday.
NoMidfield
Agree8

In my opinion, City have got worse as a team, not better. This is largely down to the form of individuals, but also due to the manager's decisions. De Jong is twice the player of Rodwell or Javi Garcia - this is one of the main problems.
Also, Nastasic at the back is a weakness. Mancini I think has let some players go that shouldn't have been allowed and he's not picking his best XI. However this can also be said about SAF whose selection choices have been nothing short of strange.
Fresh!
Agree2
Disagree4
Fresh, I'm not sure about that, agree that Mancini is making som strange decisions but their individuals especially in Midfield are starting to click and are better than ours.
Against Chelsea, they created several chances and Hart was largely untroubled. They have also started keeping clean sheets while our lot dont know the meaning of the word.
We will underestimate city at our peril.

Interesting that several of the Sunday papers had stories of a Pep G meeting with Fergie. I would bet replacing the great man was discussed. It has also been said Pep would take the newly vacany Brazil job for the world cup. 2+2 may = 1 more season for Fergie with Pep coming in in 14/15 season. It's thought he'd relish the challenge. Sounds great in theory.

I wouldn't mind seeing this lineup given a chance once Kagawa is fit. Our wingers have been off par so this would be a narrower formation with Rafael and Evra providing width. Fletcher alongside Carrick should offer plenty of defensive cover and Anderson would have license to break forward. The front 3 if it clicks could be immense.

I think this setup could provide lots of possession, stability at the back and a lethal force at the other end

There has been a lot of talk on here about the next United manager and everyone is going for the more sought after names and so called bigger names yet nobody has thought about who the Glazers would hire.... What makes any of you think they would give Pep or Klopp or Blanc or Mourinho a big wage packet... They may just go for Phelan or Moyes or O'Neill.... You never know....
