Ed002 if you are about what is your view on calls for safestanding to be reintroduced? I think it is a great idea especially as when I go to games I much prefer to stand than be seated. Also a way of creating a better atmosphere. What are the potential hurdles in the way of making it a reality again? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am no longer able to help I am afraid. Others will come by and give you advice, thoughts, transfer news etc.. But my views are clearly not necessary going forward.}

I apologise if it’s something I said ed. Your insight and knowledge is what makes this site so great. I know I’m speaking on behalf of all is united fans that we really appreciate your thoughts on all things football. Hope you continue to provide us with it.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing to do with you Park - you have been great.}

No way who has pissed you off this time will everyone not learn. You knowledge and advise are a valuable trustworthy source compared to all the rubbish that is published in the press and various websites where STORIES are generated for click bate.

Oh well guess we will have to wait and look on the other teams sites for any snip its, .

Thanks ed anyway and all the best.

Ed, I've bought a new house and was thinking of a pebble-dash exterior. What do you think?

Sepp, don’t reckon you’ll hook the Big Fish with that one mate!

If spurs are looking to sell Alderweireld rose and dembele should we be looking to buy them all. 3 players we desperate lack.

27 Apr 2018 11:09:50
Dembele would be awesome alongside pogba in front of matic. Will allow pogba to play the role Eriksen does at spurs.

27 Apr 2018 11:15:11
Agreed Jamie although Dembele has looked abit out of sorts of late. Not his usual powerful robust self. Looked well off the pace against city and wasn’t that great against us. Either carrying an injury or injuries seem to be catching up with him. I know rose hasn’t played much this season but last year he was the best left back in the league and if he can stay fit I would love him at united. Alderweireld is a no brainier. Best cb in the league and would be great next to bailly. Those three would improve us massively and make us contenders. Crucial period for spurs as their team seems like it’s being dismantled. Let’s see if Poch can buy correctly and take them to the next level.

Stuff dembele, why not go for erickson?

Park
Rose best lb in the league last season? He only played 20 games in all comps missed half the season.

Agree4 Disagree1

27 Apr 2018 13:02:48
Yep all 3 would improve us no end. Alderweireld would be a sensation for us, and Rose would provide great balance for our team.

Agree2 Disagree1

27 Apr 2018 13:05:59
All three would dramatically improve us in key areas - be great business if we can get them all for under £100m.

Need a RB desperately as well.

27 Apr 2018 13:35:24
Not so convinced on Rose tbh, Alderweireld I think alongside Bailly would be top, I love Dembele as a player he would compliment our midfield well.

Year before if I’m correct. I rate him and he is better than what we have got. Shaw can has the potential to be better but I highly doubt we will see him remain. Sandro is another option but not sure if that is likely. With rose being used to this league I think he is a no brainer. It’s just a question if he can stay fit. Spurs have been far poorer having sold Walker and not playing Rose over Davies. Think that speak volumes on how important they were for spurs last season.

27 Apr 2018 14:03:07
I actually wouldn’t be against giving Demi Mitchell some more game time. Was on fire at hearts until he got injured and has pace to burn. We will see what happens but I’ll be happy to see young replaced for next season. He’s done well in parts but new full backs will improve us massively.

I would only take alderwierld of the 3, dembele is overrated and rose has an injury record to match Jones's, we have enough crocks in defense right now.

Perfect summer would be, keep ddg, martial, sign alderwierld, de ligt/ upamecano, jorginho, rb, Sandro. Sell/ retire/ release- carrick, Smalling, rojo, darmian, shaw, fellaini.

I'm not so sure about rose made 6 appearances in in the last 18 months .
Had 1 decent season wouldn't say it was great and that was 3 year ago.

Alderweireld yes definately, one of the best central defenders in the world at the moment. Easily the best in the EPL.

Dembele a few years ago I would have snapped your arm off for. However, he has had niggling injuries over the past couple of seasons and I would be worried about his fitness at his age.

Rose I would stay clear of, I think he is a little overrated. He has had one outstanding season, and has since spent most of his time keeping the physio busy. He is certainly better than what we have, I just don't know if he would be on the field often enough to make paying the 40-60m Spurs want and the wages he would demand.

For such a key role in an area we currently struggle with strength and depth I would want to steer clear of anyone who had question marks hanging over their fitness levels. Unless they were a bargain.

I’m with Shappy and CSM, Rose has hardly played and I’m not convinced when he does. Dembele was class but we should have gone after him when he went to Spurs.

27 Apr 2018 19:36:55
I think there's better options out there than Rose but he would improve us immediately. He seems to be injured lots.
Unfortunately, I think Dembele isn't the force he was, he seems a bit leggy of late. Great player though. Should of bought him when he was at Fulham. I seem to remember Ferguson saying there was no value in the market.
Alderweireld is a no brainer. Top player, would definitely improve the team.
What would everyone think if Wanyama was available? I think he'd be a good addition to the team and free up Pogba to play a more advanced role.

27 Apr 2018 19:52:34
Wanyama is an interesting one yellow. Apparently spurs are open to bids for him. Surprised he hasn’t played much this season. He’s powerful and breaks the ball up well. Not bad on the ball but by no means a creator. That’s probably what we are looking for. Wouldn’t mind seeing him rotate with matic who can go on playing every game next season otherwise he will burn out again.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Apr 2018 19:56:42
Wanyama, Rose and Dembele; just no. We can't be the best team in Europe with that standard of players. It's like someone suggested the other day that we buy back Zaha. Sure, he's a decent player but he's not the standard we should be aiming for.

I suspect people make these suggestions to try and be clever by suggesting less obvious buys in the hope that the rest of us say "oooh, never thought of him, that's a great idea, we're really impressed"

Rose at his best is as good as any lb in the league. But its high risk its been about 18 months since he was playing regularly. Ed002 has said we want him. Tough to do a deal. Its hard to know what would represent value. Perhaps shaw will move on and flourish elsewhere. He has done ok every time he played he needs to play but like rise he could be regarded as high risk for any perspective buyer or an inpired signing depending on price. If poch could reignite him and he regains his confidence that could be a great move for him. I don't see him and jose making it up so goi g into the final year of his contract with no sign of a new one a move is best I the interests of all parties.

Agree3 Disagree1

28 Apr 2018 12:17:56
That's kind of what I was thinking Park and maybe how Wanyama might fit in at United. He's a bit under rated in my opinion. Matic, Pogba, Herrera, Mctominay, Wanyama? He kind of fits into that midfield. If we picked up Fabinho for right back as well as, that gives us lots of strong options in midfield, where we have looked a bit light at times this season.
There are obviously better, more creative, options out there. But he's a Mourinho type of player and has good Premier experience.

End of a tough season for Spurs, undoubtedly Dembele is going to look leggy - he has worked like a dog and shone most of the season. It was only a month ago he dominated Juventus at their place.

We were saying similar stuff about Vidal, Alves and numerous others that have gone on to be astute signings - age is but a number.

Definitely agree Beast, many a fine tune played on an old fiddle but he hasn't quite been the same since some surgery, end of last season? Great player though, brilliant on the ball, would of loved him here. Spurs paid £15M! Somebody posted that boat had probably gone, sadly I think it has.

Ed I was enjoying the read until a stupid name came up DT. He has no place in this football world and he thinks with his kidneys and talks though his behind.
What BS trying to threaten the other countries with his rhetoric. Obviously he is showing his true self - no grey matters between his ears. He is a real dumb f***. I can understand if he tries to talk nonsense re NFL. But to come to try to politicize world football with his nonsense is just laughable. He should go back to his dungeon where he came from. 🤬😡.

{Ed001's Note - I may be wrong, as I am guessing here, but I am getting a very slight inkling you do not like him.}

Ed I used to have respect for him before he became POTUS. That’s when I begin to see his arrogance and all the nonsense he says. I know he is a reasonable good salesman but I can’t say the same of him as the POTUS.
You know what they say: you can hide some of the dirt but you can’t hide all the dirt. He definitely can’t because he is dirt 🤣. And yes I don’t like him 😉.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - personally never liked him, he was always a joke over his golf course in Scotland etc. Everyone knows he is just an old lech. The only question is how much would have come out on him in this #metoo thing if he had not been president.}

Give it time Ed, it’s the women who will bring him down.
