The video of the team’s training session is up on the clubs’s youtibr channel. The team spirit looks really good the best I’ve seen it since the sir alex days. Players looking happy and there seems to be a real togetherness in the squad. Building a strong character and mental fortitude as well which will hold us in good stead. Still have a long way to go to be anywhere near city as they will strengthen. A couple of shrewd signings in the full back and midfield position will do us a lot of good. Increase our tempo and ruthlessness and we will be there challenging next season. Things aren’t hunky dory but they clearly aren’t as awful as we sometimes think. Jose doing a good job and we hasn’t got us more or less out a dark and potentially damaging period under the 2 previous clueless managers. Need to up the consistency which is hampering us in smaller games. Get pogba firing, Sanchez too and find a way to fit in martial/ rashford on the left. Secure second and win the cup final and we can all enjoy the summer and return to claim the trophy that we’ve all missed so much. Apologies if this is blind optimism I’ve had a few today.

Finally, hope Wenger gets a good reception. And then we spank the gooners 4-0. Used to despise Wenger back in the glory days when it used to be us and arsenal. What a great time with 2 great managers, iconic players and a rivalry so intense that it seemed like a script out of a Hollywood movie. Up till 2004 he was a thorn in our side and it’s sad how difficult his second half of his tenure is. Changed English football and pushed us and Fergie on to be even better. Perhaps never would have won the treble if we didn’t have arsenal pushing us on. Hope you have all a nice weekend so far. Let’s top it off with a win tomorrow.

I'd love to see the videos of training with Moyes. It'd be like that bit in Mike Bassett. "we're better than the Mexicans, we're better than the Mexicans. "

I hope United and the fans can give Wenger a good farewell and respect what he's done for the PL since his arrival in England. A fantastic manager who played football in the right way and we as United fans should show our appreciation.
We still want to thrash Arsenal, but Wenger deserves our respect.

Aye, totally agree, said something similar on the gunners page the other day, Wenger has earned our respect over these years.

Did you not watch the feud on channel 5 he was a good manager and pushed fergie early doors but what I took from that’s was he is an arrogant ungracious man. The story where Fergie took in champagne when arsenal won the league at OT. Wenger often refuses to shake an opponents hand. He rarely complimented an opponent always the refs or the other team cheating I’m not sure he deserves anything from rival fans. Hoping we go a few goals up so we can hear the we want you stay chant lol.

Completely agree Schmid. He’s also intelligent and by all accounts a thoroughly decent bloke. I think he’ll get a proper send off from us.

I too hope he gets a good reception from our fans although I do think people go overboard about what a top class manager he is. When he arrived at arsenal those 22 years ago he had arguably the best defence in the league in adams, keown/ bould, winterburn and dixon with seaman in goal which gave him the foundation to build his title winning sides I know he then added campbell, toure and lauren but has failed to replicate that since which is why he only won 3 titles for a manager as lauded as he is I feel he has failed. Sure he played some wonderful football and had the misfortune of going against fergie and his wonderful sides but as fans of united if we had a manager who had won only 3 titles in 22 years would we be hailing him a great of the game.

I like Arsenal as my 2nd team but I am not sure about honoring Wenger etc. More importantly we should not show disrespect. I also agree with Jaime and Nelly that he has shown plenty of disrespect to SAF and certainly Jose. Wenger is indeed quite an arrogant person imho. It’s competition and my take is no honoring needed BUT certainly no disrespect.

Good post AAA - He deserves a good reception in my opinion. Despite the once fierce rivalry I am able to recognise a true football great. He pioneered change and enhanced the League. I hope we can show some class and appreciation on Sunday to respect and acknowledge a brilliant manager and career.

Nelly, that’s harsh mate, he did the double and also went a complete season unbeaten. Add to that that he changed the way the English teams and Managers looked at preparing, he added a huge amount to our game. I agree that his second half in char has been a slow decline but he is right up there for me. If SAF had retired when originally planned I’d have happily taken Wenger back then,

Agree DLIB. Good reception and sendoff.
Hope Jose hug him and have a bottle of wine with him after the game (after we score a few goals) 😉😀.

Absolutely deserves a respectful send off and a 4-0 shellacking as well as a fair well gift.

I would 8-2 see him leave under a cloud. Sorry, couldn't resist. Lol. With little to play for other that pride I would love to see a classic United Vs Arsenal game, attacking intent and fight all over the pitch. End to end. 4-3 to us.

Very good Shappy. Very clever😂😂. In my opinion, he has been a good mamager and an adversary. But this is the last time we see him leading arsenal at OT. So a bit of respect, then beat them 4 nil.

I agree AJH and 666 it will be much easier to applaud him after we've stuck 8 past them again!

I'd like to think we're a knowledgeable bunch at Old Trafford and a career such as Wenger's deserves respect and recognition. Don't get me wrong we don't have to go overboard just polite appreciation for one of the Premier Leagues best managers.

If both Southampton and Stoke get relegated, will Mark Hughes be the first to manage two relegated teams in one season?

Great question. I suspect so. Pity one of my all time favourite players at United. He just never recovered from his time at city.

I think we can all agree that all good players may not necessarily be good managers. There will be exceptions but I believe this is a large part the case.
